Settings for BW BEx web link

Dear Friends,
We have just migrated the BW 3.5 server to a higher end server.
The host name had to be changed in the process due to which the BEx Web link (It is a default web link to access queries, not an Enterprise Portal link) is not accessible. I want to know where all I need to make changes to make it work.
The old link was
http://dicbwprd:8000/sap/bw/BEx
In this server dicbwprd is changed to bwprd and the port is changed to 8100.
If I just replace them in the internet explorer, it does not work: - http://dicbwprd:8000/sap/bw/BEx
I tried locating settings in SICF but no success.
Please help.
Thanks!

Hi,
Have you changed the hostname entries in the profiles and also change icm port number in profile files .
Thanks
Sunny

  • Optimal settings for Export to Web

My source video is 1280 x 720, coming from a Canon SD780 camera. The video creation process goes fine until I get to the point where I need to export the video to the web. Here's what I do and what happens for a 1 minute video:
    1) Export to Quick Time Movie
Creates a nice looking video at 294 MB and plays well on You Tube. However, the file size is huge and it takes a while to upload. Since YT does a conversion which allows users to view in standard or better quality, maybe I should just upload this uncompressed, biggest file and let YT do the work.
    2) Using Quick Time Player 7, I am able to File ->Save For Web H.264 and I get a good looking 25 mb video .m4v that plays fine on my computer but when I upload it to YT, the video is grainy (pixelated) but the audio is fine.
    3) Export to Quick Time Conversion
There are a gazillion options but I usually use Broadband High, H.264 and by default it wants to go to Dimensions Current 320 x 180. I'm not sure where Current got to be 320 x 180 when my source video is 1280 x 720. If I set it to 1280x720 HD, then it's totally pixelated, even on my screen.
What's the most optimal way to export in terms of file size and quality?

I did option #1 and uploaded a 301mb/54 second file to You Tube. It tells me that I had a successful upload, but that I should have put the index at the front instead of the rear of the file. I went back to the main Export to QT function in FCE4 and there are no settings to adjust the location of an index. When I went to My Videos on YT, it then said that the file conversion had failed. Where does something so simple get so screwed up?

  • Best Acrobat distiller settings for creating a Web-Friendly pdf file-

    Hi
Got a big project coming up where my crew will be trying to export our indesign layouts for print pieces to pdf files for uploading, viewing and printing from our company internet site. Our documents will be a mix of text and jpg and vector images, as they originally designed for printing. We'll be reformatting them to print on letter size, etc., then saving them for our web dev area.
Is the standard job option set, "Smallest File Size", the best way to go?
Or are there specific settings that I can customize in Acrobats (resolution, downsample to, monchormatic, etc) in the blanks and create a set of job options to distribute?

    Hello,
We're pleased that you are using Acrobat software. The Smallest File Size preset is great for web and email. However, image resolution is low, which would affect printing quality. The Rich Content PDF preset might be a better choice. Did you look on this Help page for information?

  • Settings for Exporting to web for streaming

I have some short family dvd's that I want to export to some web pages.
What's the best method to :
    1 extract the dvd content
2 create media for web viewing
BTW: I think I'd rather use MP4 with h.264 (rather than .flv) for this set of media
    Q :
1 - what are the best apps for extracting from dvd and then encoding the MP4
(handbrake - quicktime - squeeze etc?)
2 - for the 'average' dsl/cable connection what are the best (safest) video frame sizes and bitrate settings ... I was thinking something like:
    480x320 and bitrate xxxx?
or can I go as big as
    640x480 and bitrate xxxx?
Thanks in advance for the help....

ad 1) Handbrake is indeed a very handy tool for converting DVD-content (btw, this board is a bit 'shy' to answer ripping-questions .. in your case, it is plain 'converting', which is allowed as a topic).
the other usual tool is Mpeg Streamclip plus Apple's mp2-playback-component (20$), ..
ad 2) for such 'small' (= non HDef) videos, I assume a low bitrate of 1.000 - 1.500 kBit/sec should offer 'enough' quality in h264. 30 or 15 fps? depends imho on content, 'skater video' vs. 'lecturer's talking head' ..
... that I want to export to some web pages.
keep in mind, many video-hosters, as YouTube or vimeo, convert again. the higher the input-quality, the better ...

  • Best settings for creating a web mov. from a motion project

    Hi,
I have been trying to get a crisp image online, that doesn't take a age to load. I know it's possible as I have seen sites that seem to have their settings spot on.
I am using H264 codec, which greatly reduces the file size (although it's still about 4.5mb) and the once crisp looking motion project, now looks dull.
Can anyone help? I am very new to motion (and FCP). What codec should I set my sequence to before I import the motion project to FCP and then what settings should I use for compressor?
Your help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    You could also try Squeeze.
I've read that for highly compressed H.264 (doesn't matter for files that aren't), Squeeze has better quality. (would certainly like to hear other's experience - Squeeze seems a lot slower to compress from the review)
    Here's one review ( there's a more detailed review around somewhere )

  • Reasons for a slow web link??

    Dear friends,
I have a jsp file. I move to that jsp file when I click on a link in
a html page. But i get that jsp page after a long time, sometimes even
3-4 minutes. One reason that I can think of it is the amount of processing that takes place in the jsp file(it has to access 3 tables each with a thousand records for queries). Can this be a reason??
or what may be the other reasons and how to overcome this problem??
    help me
    bussa.

    Hello,
You are accessing 3 tables with thousands of rows returned and then all this data is get loaded in you jsp page so both of the things require time 1) To search records from database specially when you are working with MSACCCESS. 2) Compilation of your JSP page & executing the statements and loading the data .....

  • Compression settings for output to WEB

I have compressed my project about 6-7 times now, trying to get it to look like it does in Final Cut Pro HD nice and clean! I have played around with the bit rates. Of the 7 attempts, 2 came out pretty decent but I know I can get it cleaner than that. Is there a KEN STONE tutorial for using compressor for the WEB? I know there is one to burn a DVD of your footage. I just need some guidance on what to select for these presets and how I can get the best look possible,
    thanks

  • Best settings for 16:9 web deliveryI

    Hi all,
I would like to deliver 16:9 (small size) for web delivery directly out of FCP2. I have a bunch I made from DVD's through Handbreak which works and looks ok (see http://www.paparazzi-films.com/Site/Film-DVDs/Pages/Films-DVDs.html) but I now have material which is not in DVD format.
    setting advice is appreciated
    Michael

    You might also try H.264.
I just created a 15 minute 640 x 360 at 200K data rate size of 35 Meg using Compressor - that looks almost identical to the 800K data rate version.
The latest Flash 9 can play H.264 (as well as Quicktime Player) - so it is a platform agnostic solution.
This is a useful player for web display of H.264 using Flash 9.

  • I cannot find an option for sending a web link directly to my Wallpaper as a 'shortcut'.

I cannot find any option (in the 'File' tab), to send a website link to my wallpaper directly. On IE in the drop down 'File' menu tab, it has an option to 'Send' as an email, OR 'Send' to your desktop as a Shortcut.. Mozilla does not have that option. I do not understand why you do not have that simple option? The Drop down 'File' in Mozilla only allows you to send the link as an email. I always have to copy and paste a link from Mozilla to my IE browser to be able to send a link as a Shortcut to my wall paper.

    Hi Jan,
Most possible causes for encountering this issue are:
    Possible cause:
    - The ADS is installed on a plattform, that is currently not supported by SAP for ADS. Please check the avaliablity at: Product Availability Matrix
    - Mixing of different Netweaver releases (NW04 and NW04s) -> This is unfortunatelly not possibble the J2EE engine release has to match with the ABAP stack release in order connect them properly.
    - The ADS SP level does not match the J2EE engine SP level. -> Please update the software components to have the same support package level.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Using Portal Variables in filter criteria of BEx Web App query string

Our BI 7 instance is connected to a NW2004 portal, where we have created SAP BW Report iViews to access templates created with the Web Application Designer.  We would like to use some of the portal variables about the user to create filters for the BEx Web Application Query String.
The query string would have a set of parameters at the end that looks something like:
    &FILTER_IOBJNM_1=0PLANT&FILTER_VALUE_1=<plant>
Where <plant> is a value stored in a portal variable.
Is it possible to do this in the SAP BW Report iView or will we have to code our own custom iView to pick up the variable values?
    Cheers,
    Lee Smith

    Any one?

  • BEx Web Template (BTMP) and Web Template (TMPL)

    Hi,
I found in BI7 Objects, there are BEx Web Template (BTMP) and Web Template (TMPL). what's the different between them? For the BEx Web Template (BTMP), i can find in Web Application designer.
But for Web Template (TMPL), I cannot find them in Web Application designer. How can I edit them?
for example, there is a standard Web Template (TMPL)  0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111, where can I change it?
    Many Thanks
    Jonathan

    hello,
TMPL is for 3.5 template and BTMP is for BI 7.0 templates. For opening 7.0 template you need to use BI 7.0 WAD not 3.5 WAD.
you can open the standard template 0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111 in WAD and then do save as to save it custom template.
Then you can edit the custom template and make the changes.
Make sure that the std. template is installed correctly.

When I open the NWBC for HTML, the BEx web template menu item is not visible (All other menu items from PFCG appear in the PFCG menu).  I'm I missing something?
