Settings for Lenovo Power Scheme

The dialog box is completely grayed out. I'm unable to  change any settings. When running on D C or battery, the display goes dark after about 3 min.

Hello Agotthelf,
I'm running M.S. XP Home Edition ver. 2002 service pack 3.
I don't know which version of power manager I'm using, but I can tell you how I discovered the problem and how it was solved.
Start>Control Panel>Power Options>the Power Options Properties window opens. Settings for Home/Office Desk power scheme was grayed out, useless to me.
The problem was solved this way: Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs>Energy Management>Change>Modify is high lighted by default>click Next>unchecked Energy Management.
When I returned to the Power Options Properties window, cited above, it was no longer grayed out. I was able to change the settings.
I own an Ipad S10 423135U.
Thanks for your reply and for the link to Forum Search Option.
If you will please, what's the meaning of R60 946...?

  • Feature request for Lenovo Power Manager

I typically like to keep my battery charge level at 40-50% in order to optimize the battery's life span.  But, there are times when I need to charge fully and I may change this setting a few times a week.
Instead of having to wait for the Power Manager to open and dig around for the Battery Maintenance settings, could we have "Battery Charge Levels Min/Max" as part of the Power Plan options?  That way, we can quickly toggle between configurations using FN+F3.

EDIT: Ah okay sorry now I got what you mean!
You mean Power MAnager needs quite some time to come up. Not only on boot, but also when trying to do something. Everything seems really slow: You click something and it needs 2-3 seconds to actually happen. Ad yes, bootup time is really worse with newest version of power manager. The battery status icon appears last on bootup and system is not really usable unitl then.
This app is completely bloated :-(.The features it provides neither really need so much cpu cycles nor that much RAM/resources and there is plenty of room for improvements. Same for Access Connections btw.! You press FN+F5 or F7 and for a few seconds nothing happens. This is really bad for a simple menu to pop up.

  • Request for optimal calibration settings for Lenovo ThinkVision monitors

I understand one person's settings may not hold true for someone else's given display variances, but I would very much like to get anyone's suggested, optimal picture settings for each of the below two monitors.
Primarily monitor 1 looks way worse than monitor 2 for me, but I still want help with both.  Models listed below.  Please include each item/setting with # used so I can try them out and see if it helps.
      Monitor 1: LEN L1900pA
      Monitor 2: LEN LT1913pA
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Jwhyrock,
    Jwhyrock reply,
I played with settings on all 3 monitors.  Not entirely sure I like what I did, but it is a bit better.  I would still like to see what settings anyone else is using for their display such as contrast, brightness, color saturation etc.
Below is the link on how to setup the default calibration for display, please follow the steps. And also suggest you to check with resetting the Monitor to factory default setting in the monitor, or you can also check with installing Monitor .inf for the specific model which can be downloaded from the manufacturer link.
    Display Calibration
    Hope this helps!

  • K430/K450: here`s the SOLUTION to Lenovo Power control switch not working anymore.

If your power control switch isn`t working anymore BUT you didn`t unistall it or erase some of his files, chances are that over time some software/update took control of some setting used by the Lenovo switch.
If this is the case, before reinstalling the software, try the following:
1 - Check your power plan option, if is on something else than Lenovo  change your power plan option (scheme) to Lenovo Power Scheme.
2 - Access your pc advanced startup setting (win+x) check for the services LitModeCtrl and LenovoComService and set the two services to automatically start when the computer startsup. If it`s not working 99% is because some software (the most common is Samsung SSD Magician) has set the two to "Manual". Change to "Auto".
3 - Reboot and the Power control switch software will be working again.
I wonder why no one from Lenovo advice this, but i`ve had to find a solution myself after countless hit & miss attempts.

    hi FlashOfLight,
    Welcome to the Forums.
Have you tried performing a system restore to undo the changes? (by default, this feature is set to enabled)

  • [Solved] Need help with GS70 power schemes

So my MSI GS70 2PE Stealth Pro came pre-installed with some kind of software to easily toggle between power schemes, even printing the hotkey on the keyboard (FN+F5)
The 4 different schemes are also accesible from the System Control Manager (SCM) that also came pre-installed with the laptop.
The issue I'm having however, is that I do not like the way these power schemes are set up, and I can't seem to find any way to change them, since only the currently active scheme appears in the Power Options (in the control panel) and changing them their is only temporary, as swapping to another scheme and then swapping back to the one i modified resets the modified one to the default. Anyone here knows where I'm supposed to edit these scheme?
Also, when I'm in my command prompt and ask it for my power schemes, it gives me the same as the control panel.

Hi, I am also thinking about how I can change my SCM powerplan settings. Were you able to do it?
I was not able to open the link you submitted, it keeps getting me this error: "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."
So if you could tell me how to change the powerplans I would be pleased.
    Thanks!

  • Password Settings bug in Lenovo Power Manager ?

On my w530 I created a new power profile in Lenovo Power Manager, but no matter how many times I change it to NOT require a password on wakeup from sleep, the settings keep reverting from 'No' to 'Yes' (as in Yes, require password).
I open Power Man as admin, change 'Yes' to 'No', click apply and verify that it says 'No'. Then i close power manager and reopen it, and it once again says 'Yes'.
      What is going on?

  • For my power shot S5IS, best camera settings for 4 X 6 prints?

for my power shot S5IS, best camera settings for 4 X 6 prints? I would like to have the best setting so when i print out the photos,i do not need to crop or trim. It is close, but i feel it can be better.

The bad news is that you can't do anything in camera to get that result. The good news is that once you understand the possibilities you'll appreciate being able to control how your prints get framed (cropped). Your camera produces images in a 3:4 ratio while a 4 X 6 is a 2:3 ratio so if you don't know in advance that you need to crop some from the top, bottom, or both to make your image fit the 2:3 ratio & frame too tightly when taking the photo you're in trouble. Learn to shoot in a way that allows cropping to match common print sizes, and find a simple editing program to crop in computer. This should be standard practice because even though you may want a 4 X 6 now down the road you might want a 5 X 7 so keep your options open.
If you don't have an editing program that easily does this & you're on a PC download Picasa which is an excellent program for this & it's free. Once you have it running select one of your existing photos, select "crop" from the menues on the first tab & then play around with the different options Picasa has built in to see the effects to your image. NOTE that it won't throw away the data outside the crop box even though it may look like it has. You always have the option to "undo crop". Once you get a result you like you "export"  & create a new file cropped as seen on screen WITHOUT modifying the original file.

  • Setting Active Power Scheme for Power Saver programmatically

    Hello,
I'm a software developer and I would like to create a little utility for myself which can change and set the active power scheme for the Toshiba Power Saver utility.
There is a Platform SDK function "SetActivePwrScheme" to do a similar thing
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/power/base/setactivepwrscheme.asp
but this works for the builtin windows power schemes only, not for Toshiba Power saver.
Is there any way to set the active scheme of the Toshiba Power Saver utility?
Thanks for any hints in advance:

This is a user-to-user forum and the community users try to solve common problems, share knowledge and discuss technology.
I'm not sure that you will find a answer for you question here in the forum. This is more a questions for programmers.
Additionally I don't think that you will find any Power saver code details. I think this are internal informations and not accessible for everyone.

  • Lenovo Power Manager in Windows 8

    Hi guys,
Since Lenovo Power Manager is not available for Windows 8 (no matter my laptop is specified to be FOR Windows 8... grrrrr...) I've been playing around because I needed not the infamous power gauge taking space in my taskbar, but some advanced settings.
Well, I found a couple of things:
Power Manager (g6u432ww.exe) can be installed in Windows 8 and can be used. Even the power gauge.
To install it, you have to run the setup in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
It doesn't work very well: sometimes it crashes or the UI won't open (at doesn't open anymore, no matter what you do). But it does run the first time (use it before restarting) and you can change battery settings and some other stuff anyway.
Do create a Restore Point before, because is not created automatically and because you won't be able to uninstall it later, since the setup expects Windows 7.
If you install Lenovo Settings Dependency Package (gfsd02ww.exe) after that, Power Manager gets upgraded from version 6.36 to 7.11. But still crashes.
Settings regarding battery charging are kept, no matter you restore Windows using system restore. So you can create a Restore Point, install Power Manager, change battery settings, and then restore Windows.
Is not a solution (I'm still expecting for Lenovo to fix this support for Windows 8). But at least I was able to stop the battery from charging all the time.
This has been tested on a ThinkPad Edge S430.
    One important question left is:
Why Lenovo Power Manager 7.11 can't be downloaded and installed normally? I couldn't care less for the Metro Store Apps and bulky gadgets. But I want to be able to change some settings.
    Cheers.
If I helped you, please give me some kudos! ^^
