Settings for Substitution in SBWP Workflow Settings !!!!!

Hi Gurus,
I am using ECC 6.0 Basis Release 700. In our system, i observed that Multi-level delegation(substitution) is working like below:
Let us say A maintains B as substitute and B maintains C as substitute. If D is reporting to A in the Org. structure and sent an approval witem to A, it is coming to B, but not to C. But if D is reporting to B, then it is coming to C as well. From this what I understand is that the workitems for which B is supposed to act On Behalf of A, he cannot or not able to delegate or send them to his delegetee(here C).
Is this the way it is suppose to work ?. If yes, can anybody tell me where these settings are made / maintained.
Please rely to this urgent message with your valuable inputs.
Thanks in advance
venu

Yes, this is the way it is supposed to work. I think it is even documented specifically that substitutions are not "chained", but right now I am too lazy/busy to find the documentation for you.

I don't think there's any standard functionality for preventing you from forwarding a work item you received as a substitute. It would contradict with the whole concept I believe. When you are a substitute you are filling in for someone, which means you should be able to do whatever the other person would be able to do.
Better solution: tell them you'll force them to use Windows Vista on a PC with 1 GB of RAM unless they quit forwarding everything. That ought to put the FOA (fear of administrator) in them.

  • Nikon camera settings for an adobe only workflow

If I use a Nikon D70, shoot raw, don't use Nikon nx, and want to import into Lightroom as dng--are there certain in-camera setting to use or avoid? Use to think only decision was whether to import as dng or nef. But if Nikon's in camera settings aren't accessible without nx, do you have to rethink all your camera settings just because you want to import into Lightroom as dng?
    Thank you,
    Tim

I also just convert my NEF's to DNG on import. I tried some of the presets for import, but quickly realized that all of the photos on a memory card rarely need the same things. I would also argue that most people don't choose all the optimal settings in camera (hence the advantages of RAW).
For this reason, I find my best workflow is to simply edit groups of pictures that are similar. So if I take a few pictures inside at a birthday party, I will spend a few minutes in the develop module changing my settings, and then I will simply sync, auto sync, or copy and paste all of my develop settings to the 10 other photos that have the same issues.
One note on sharpening. It supposedly is set to a decent setting by default. Check out this article:

  • Client Settings for Device collections Vs Client Settings for User collections

I noticed there are "Client Settings" set for each User and Group in SCCM. I want all my "Client Settings" configured by Device Collections not User Collections, what can I do? Can someone explain the difference between those?
    Thanks
    James A+, Network+, MCP

One is for user settings on a client and the other is for device settings on a client. As you can imagine user settings can only be deployed to user collections and device settings can only be deployed to device collections.

  • GPP Internet Settings for IE 11 disable Zone settings

    Hello!
We have to Rollout IE 11 to our whole client Environment ( Win7 Enterprise). But before we can do this we have to test it in our IT department. We want to make the settings with GPP. In the first step we only want to set the Proxy settings and the default
    Homepage.
At this Point our troubles are starting. When we create a IE 10 Setting (which also applys to IE11) i can set what i want. everything is working on the Client. But i don´t want to set the settings from the security tab and i can´t disable this
with F7 because there is no red dotted nor a green line.
The reason why we don´t want do set this settings is very simple. We want that our colleagues can set every setting and give us then a feedback which settings they need to set for there web apps.
    Any Ideas?
    Kind Regards
    Wolfgang Preisch

    Hi,
As you knew, Internet Explorer Maintenance (IEM) could be used to configure Internet Explorer settings on computers where IE 9 or older version is installed. However, Any settings that you previously configured with IEM will no longer work on computers where
Internet Explorer 10 or newer is installed, regardless of the Windows version it’s been installed on. You must update your settings using Group Policy Preferences, Administrative Templates (.admx), or the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK).

Moreover, you can set security zone using registry entries.

  • Where are user settings for the JRE stored?

On a workstation, every user gets his own JRE settings (for example, changed the proxy settings). But for a deployment package, I need to set the proxy settings differently from the Internet Explorer settings.
Can't find it in C:\documents and settings\Administrator (or the user dirs), the registry, C:\program files\java\... - So where are they kept?!

Thanks, it appeared the windows environment settings rerouted to a similar path but on a different network drive! ;)

  • Best Share Settings for YouTube

Hi, Could someone tell me what the best Imovie HD6 exporting settings are for uploading to YouTube? I'm trying to get the best quality image for my 8 minute video but still be able to upload under 100meg.
I've read on the YouTube site that MPEG-4 at 30fps & 640x480 is the best setting for the best quality results. But when I do that I still end up with a rather pixalated video. I've tried using the standard setting of Web Streaming (12fps, 320x240) but that's also rather pixalated.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

    Hi Steve
I don't often drop into Discussions these days as the resident experts are excellent but in the past I have had disappointing results with mpeg4 to YouTube until I used Matt's own QT setting settings.
I have and use Flash and on Sunday I tried encoding and uploading my YouTube with Flash. I used the suggested settings and it looked awful! Flash likes to encode from uncompressed footage and I have learned your footage has to be shot with Flash in mind. I then uploaded the same item using Matt's settings and it really looked passable. I could play them side by side. I am not a perfectionist and as long as my videos look OK I am happy.
Now YouTube is allowing a larger upload size I push the quality higher than Matt's and I keep the frame rate at exactly half. I use Pal so it is 12 but for NTSC it is 15. You can be pedantic and make it exactly half the NTSC frame rate which number escapes me at the moment as I never use it. This is best.
Remember to deinterlace but you know that.
So here they are - credit and thanks to Matt.
'I have found that if you are using "special effects" on your movies they do not reflect very well on you tube- If you make a clean movie with no effects than that comes out better. I use Imovie to Qtime export to my own settings for "movie" or .mov. the settings are:
    Compression: H.264
Frame Rate: 12 fps(smaller file size)
    Key Frame: AUTO
Quality: Medium ( again, smaller file size)
    Encoding: Best Quality
    Data Rate: AUTO
    Size: 320x240
Sound ACC-48 khz( you can change this , BUT my Videos are mostly MUSIC- so this sounds better, If your is only the true sound of what you have recorded, like people talking etc- then you can change to lower settings, thus giving you a smaller file size)
I have found that the key to you tube is
    1) if you use certain GEE THREE or any other effects, NOT ALL MIND YOU- that your movie will look crapy.
    2) if you use higher settings than i have stated here you file will be large(hopefully under YOUTUBES 100 mb limit), BUT if your file is very large the movie will stutter, or stop during playback- and other viewers on YOUTUBE probably will move on to the next video of choice and thus all your hard work will go unseen.
So i use these settings keep the effects to a minimum and they seem to work fine-hope this helps any one,
    matt
Lastly I do use effects sometimes so I make a clean copy of my iMovie, that is I export it to QT then I import it back into a new iMovie project so it is just one clip. This can fool YouTube. I made a YouTube using a slideshow from iPhoto
and I used random transitions expecting the worst and to my surprise it looked quite good.
If you want to look you can go see DIYTVMovies My Secret Garden
    http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=mQ_9Hhg-lRk
which is the director's commentary to show how I did it. Now again this is not Hollywood quality but for a beginner it is acceptable. I like the sound quality iMovie gives. The other version for my friends had sound edited on Final Cut which was compressed and not as good.
If anyone has better settings let me know.
    Jane

import settings on itunes isnt the same settings for purchased downloads?

Import settings do not apply to purchases.  When you purchase a download, it comes in the format provided by the store.
Some common formats are AAC/256 (iTunes Store), MP3/256 (Amazon MP3), and MP3/320 (Google Play).

  • Change settings for workflow operation

    Hi,
I am trying to change the settings and choose a custom workflow for the workflow operation 'Upload Document' in a folder in content services. However i cannot change the settings as the 'Workspaces' container has 'Do not allow subfolders to modify this operations workflow settings' checked, and i cannot edit this as it is all greyed out (even though i have admin rights?). Could anyone tell me how I can change the containers workflow settings?
    Many Thanks
    Dave

If you upgrade to Workspaces 10.1.2.2 you can relax this restriction. As a user with administration privs on the workspaces container (likely the orcladmin by default), switch into administration mode (with link in the top right hand corner of the UI) and edit the properties of the workspaces container to allow subfolders to override the workflow settings.

  • Workflow fails when page is created through the CreatePublishingPageDialog.aspx. The settings for this list have been recently changed.

    Hi,
I've created a content type and attached a workflow to it so when I create a publishing page the workflow should run.
My Page creation is based on the "_layouts/15/CreatePublishingPageDialog.aspx" page in order to be allowed to fill in the required fields on item creation (so I don't have to go to the page afterwards and choose "edit properties").
On my page library I have "Require content approval for submitted items" and "Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?" set to YES.
This design has worked fine before I added my workflow. However now when I click save or check in/publish I get the below error. My guess is that the workflow starts (and blocks) right after I fill in the filename and click next in the "CreatePublishingPageDialog.aspx"
step to go to the required fields.
If I go back to my page after I receive the error below I can edit the required properties again and then publish the page correctly.
How do I avoid this? thank you
