Settings for updating info structures of purchasing and inventory managemen

Hi Experts,
Infor structures of MM aren't updating in my system. Is there any indicator to be maintained in material and vendor master for updating these info structures? and kindly tell me the settings for this.

Hello,
Updates of these reporting tables are done in asynchronous mode.
Check transaction SM13 and try to find back the update of table S001 and analyze the error.
Several OSS-notes explain what can go wrong with updates of LIS and SIS tables like S001.

TIS - update info structure S050

Hello,
please could enyone help me? I tried to update info structure S050 for shipment using transaction mcs/ and got error message
"092 SAP info structure S050 cannot be generated" I run transaction OLIE and created protocol but without avail. I haven´t found eny documentation for update - TIS yet.

Instead of TIS search for LIS or just 'info structure'. The principles are all the same within LIS (which TIS is a part of).
Is there a long text for the error message? The verbiage sounds rather strange, as if there is a problem with the structure itself. You might want to check in SE11 if there is a table named S050 and if it's active.

I checked both of these transaction we need to select 3 option Characetrstics frm configuration(prio) and classification. I will check that, I had one more question
In PO VC configuration is called for class type-300 and in GRN VC configuration is called for class type -023. How it will fetch the variant class configuration to Batch class configuration?
Once we had faced some issues the copy from PO to GRN was happening for some batches & some batches it was not happening.
yes we have activated Mill Functions in our ERP box.

Are you using iTunes on your iPad or the actual program on a Mac/PC?
If you are using on your iPad check the ID being used by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store if the Apple ID displayed isn't yours tap it and select Sign Out then sign in with your own Apple ID.
If you are referring to iTunes on a Mac/PC select the Store Menu and check the Account Name next to the View Account text, if this isn't you select the Sign Out option directly above it then Sign In with the relevant credentials.

When I create Rough cut planning profile, I am getting error message ""Capacity planning is not possible for this info structure""
I am using info structure S994 copied copied from standard info structure.
Please suggest to oversome this error.

Problem in committing transactions in Multiple Forms (Oracle Forms) with POST built-in command:
Consider that the following statements are written in WHEN-WINDOW-CLOSED trigger of a called form.
Statements in called form (Form name: FORM_CHILD):

Our understanding:
Assume that both the forms are running from two different machines/instances, issuing commit at the same time. In this case, forms will start executing the statements written in ON-INSERT trigger, the moment POST command is executed. Though the commit is issued at the same time, according to oracle, only one of the request will be taken for processing first. Assume that calling form 1 is getting processed first.
So, it fetches the value available in COLUMN_1 of TABLE_A and locks the row from further select, update, etc. as SELECT...FOR UPDATE command is used (note that NOWAIT is not given, hence the lock will be released only when COMMIT or ROLLBACK happens) and proceed executing further INSERT statements. Because of the lock provided by the SELECT...FOR UPDATE command, the statements in calling form 2 will wait for the resource.
After executing the INSERT statements, the FORM_CHILD is called. The rows inserted in to TABLE_A will be queried and shown. The database changes will be committed when user closes the window (as COMMIT is issued in its WHEN-WINDOW-CLOSED trigger). Then the SELECT...FOR UPDATE lock will be released and calling form 2's statements will be executed.
Actual happenings or Mis-behavior:
Calling form 2 starts executing INSERT statements instead of waiting for SELECT...FOR UPDATE lock. Also, the value selected from TABLE_A.COLUMN_1 is same in both the calling forms, which is wrong.
The rows inserted into TABLE_B are having similar COLUMN_1 values in calling form 2 and they are fetched and shown in the called form FORM_CHILD.
Note that in calling form 2 also POST only is issued, but the changes posted there are accessible in calling form 1 also, which is wrong.
Kindly suggest us as to how to fix above problem. It will be much use, if you can send us the information regarding the behavior of Oracle Forms POST built-in also.

You have several problems:
1. On-Insert will ONLY run if you have created a new record in a base-table block. If you haven't done that, then the POST command will not cause it to run.
2. Select for update without a "no wait" will lock records for the first form, but when the second form tries this, it will hit the ORA-00054 exception, and will NOT wait. The only way you could make it wait is to issue an UPDATE sql command, which is not such a good way to go.
All POST does is issues SQL insert or update commands for any changes the user has made to records in a form's base-table blocks, without following with a Commit command.
Also understand that Commit is the same as Commit_Form, and Rollback is the same as Clear_Form. You should read up on these in the Forms help topics.

Dear Gurus
Where we maintain the settings for the relation of requirement type and planned order type?Actually I have maintained strategy 60 for a particular material (planning material) so the requirement type is vsev and along with that the planned order type is coming is vp i.e non convertible planned order.That is ok the system is behaving right.But nowhere I can find the setting of vp with vsev how the system is picking vp?

Is there any standard SAP Report available where I can get all the information related to Purchasing and Inventory Management in one.
Like Material,Purchasing details of the material (vendor, price etc ) and Inventory Management (Stock qty and value etc.).

Go to transaction code SAP1, this will show all the reports functional area-wise.
For purchasing reports : Go to Material management --> Purchasing
For Inventory management reports : Go to Material management --> Inventory management

URGENT : Please help: Purchasing and Inventory loads

I am currently in BWQ. I did the inital deletion of set up tables by LBWG and then ran the set up jobs through SBIW for Purchasing and Inventory.
I also did the industry setting and processkey .
I ran the init load yesterday and it gave some records and then deltas brought 0 records . For some reason I felt that there should not be 0 records and I went and deleted the set up table again and ran the set up jobs. I can see records in the set up table and RSA3.
But when I am running the load today it brings 0 records. I thought may be the delta ran this morning so it brought 0 records. therefore I ran the full repair reuqest but still there only 0 records.
Can someone explain this and advice what needs to be done.

Initially when you loaded init data you got some records and delta brought 0 records. This is logical if there are no new records creates in R/3 system or you have not executed delta collector job - Job control through LBWE for a particular application.
Now carry out following steps for purchasing data loads -
1.delete the setup tables using tcode LBWG
2.perform set up for the purchasing in background mode
3.check the job log for step 2 in SM27
4. find out no of documents written to setup tables for purchasing using tcode NPRT
5.Now load the init load to BW- this will load the data that you have covered under setup tables
6. Now create/change some data in R/3. This data must be withing your init range used in init infopackage. If you have done init load with no selection parameters then no problem.
7. Run job control for purachasing in LBWE
8. Now load the delta load -> it should load the correct delta data into BW.

I need your help. I want to update the structure S012 because of some change in the customising were made, but, I want to be sure that the following steps are correct in order to update the data. This is that I want to do:
1.     I am going to the Customizing tree): Logistics - General + Logistics Information System (LIS) + Logistics Data Warehouse + Data Basis + Tools + Setup of Statistical Data + Application-specific Setup of Statistical Data + Perform Setup - Purchasing
2.     Then, I am selection = PURCHIS Statistical Setup (program RMCENEUA, transaction OLI3)
3.     Once I am in the report, this is the data selected:
a.     Info structure to be compile = S012
b.     Save under version = &(1
c.     Document date = 01.01.2011 to 31.05.2011
d.     Name of run = SAP1
e.     Termination date = 12.05.2011
f.     Termination time = 14:00:00
g.     Redeterm. of update group? = u201CXu201D
h.     Update documents? = u201CXu201D
i.     Block all documents? = u201CXu201D
4.     After that, I am checking that the data was created in the table S012, and, yes, it was updated correctly.
5.     Then, I want to copy my version u201C&(1u201D to the version u201C000u201D. I am going to the Customizing tree): Logistics - General + Logistics Information System (LIS) + Logistics Data Warehouse + Data Basis + Tools + Setup of Statistical Data + Application-specific Setup of Statistical Data + Perform Setup u2013 Purchasing + Setup: Copy/Delete Versions.
6.     There, I am selecting the Info structure = S012 and click in the u201CCopy versionu201D button.
7.     In the program, this is the data selected:
a.     Source version = &(1
b.     Target info structure = S012
c.     Target version = 000
But, I want to check if these steps are correct before copy the version. I am confusing with some information from SAP that they are mentioning delete the version 000.
Could you help me, please?

Yes - you generally need to delete the data from the target version before copying the updated data.
An exception is if you are adding missing data (for example you didn't have updating turned on for a particular combination) and your update run has just captured the data for this.
However, if you are changing the data - yes - the target data needs to be deleted. You can copy it to a 3rd version 1st.
Test everything in a QA or sandbox first.
