Settings - iCloud - Apple ID is greyed?

Background: Newly I changed my Apple-ID from one name to an other. When I then used app store in my iPhone it did not work. After changeing the apple-id in settings - shop it worked again.
Here is the problem: How do I change the apple-id for iCloud? When I try to change it, the old apple-id shows up in grey text as is impossible to change. The password however, still works to change. The only way to move forward is to tap "ok", and a message "wrong id or password" appears.
How to fix this "little" problem? (fact: I really need to sync the calenders so I know what to do and when....)

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

I also can't turn off "Find my iPad" on iTunes in order to do a restore.

Try a reset first. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen. It takes about 10 seconds. After the iPad restarts, see if you can get into your settings.

  • My iCloud is shadowed in grey in settings

My iCloud is normally in bold print but is now shadowed in a grey along with my FaceTime, Facebook, Twitter, also Im downloading my music through wifi, but the clour too download all is disappearing on all artist and once downloaded they are turning back too clouds to be redownload, it's causeing my data too go high.

You'd have to go into the various apps on a device that is also stored on iCloud and begin trimming files.
    Backups:
Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage; there, tap the device you need info on and the resulting screen lists Backup Options with which apps store data on iCloud.  Turn off camera roll and any other apps that might have a lot of data.  Then delete the backup.  That will free up space.  Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream. Go to Settings>iCloud and turn
    Emails:
Regarding emails, on the computer, move emails from mailboxes in icloud to those on the device.  That can also save a lot of space.

  • How can I log off the old apple ID and on to the new apple ID in Settings icloud?

I have an old apple ID that is currently signed into my new iphone5s under settings>icloud.
My new apple ID is signed in elsewhere on the phone.
I cannot sign out or delete the old apple ID account because I do not know the password.
I cannot reset the password because i do not know the email where the password is being sent.
I cannot reset the password via security questions because it is telling me the date of birth I am entering is incorrect.
I have no idea what to do now.
    Please advise.

f you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then  on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

Have you already verified your "new" email address? If not then please check your inbox for a confirmation email (also the junk folder). If you do not have a confirmation email then please sign in at https://appleid.apple.com and press "verify" for confirming your email address.

  • Logging in on iCloud crashes 'Settings' but Apple(doesn't)Care

The story is long and the ending is sad but I kinda start hating this so, why not share it?
    Introduction.
I've to say that I bought an iPad and an iPhone when I had a laptop but few weeks after that the laptop died and now I am alone with my iOS devices.
I can add that I'm the lazy kind of user so I never jailbreaked my devices...I've no real need...not hacky. I buy things ONLY from the apple store...what a lazy ***.
    The beginning.
The beginning is that I have 2 appleID accounts, an old one aaa.bbb, not really used, and a new one aaa.bbb@mail that I am using on iTunes. This makes sense because at some point it wasn't needed to use an email as an appleID but all of the sudden, iCloud came and it needed:
    - an appeID
    - a verified email account on it
    - an email pattern
Not knowing that for iCloud the appleID must to be in the email format, I used the aaa.bbb@mail as the email to verify the aaa.bbb appleID...it did work :)
Then I tried to use aaa.bbb to login into ICloud and this didn't work as aaa.bbb is not an email pattern :(
I tried to add aaa.bbb@mail as the email to verify on the aaa.bbb@mail appleID and this is quite confusing but makes sense now that appleID can be emails and also not emails but in some case they must to be emails...ok this thing didn't work.
    The story.
I asked help to the iCloud Support service and after some cleanup of things that I am not sure I've understood, they sent me to the iTunes support. At the iTunes support I got mail buddy with Paul. Paul is nice. He made clear that his life is crap now that I can't use my iCloud account and he keeps repeating it at every email he sends me...poor lad.
Paul explained me that I can't have the same email verified on more than one appleID and so I should use a different email to verify my aaa.bbb@mail account.
I find this quite annoying, having:
    - account aaa.bbb verified on aaa.bbb@mail
    - account aaa.bbb@mail verified on whatever@mail
It really looks odd....no the word is stupid.
So I didn't say anything to Paul not to scare him but I deleted the aaa.bbb@mail from the appleID aaa.bbb, I added it to the aaa.bbb@mail appleID and I verified it...it did work. I felt like celebrating with Paul as our nightmare was over but...
I went back on my iPad, on the Settings application, on the iCloud thing and I tried to login but this time with the aaa.bbb@mail appleID.
Something changed, I've obfuscated records in my mind of what happened...I saw images of iCloud asking me what were the applications to include in the iCloud sharing dream. I pressed some OK and some NEXT (maybe) but at some point it didn't work...I don't remember the exact error but I am quite sure that from the first time it was 'username or password is incorrect'. What a frustration.
I am quite sure about the username and password because that's the appleID that I am using on iTunes and I am using it to update the apps almost every day.
I tried again to login...incorrect...I tried some more....incorrect...and now, the 'Settigns' application freezes. I means the message 'username or password is incorrect' has an OK button right below but even tapping there, nothing happens. The solution is to switch to another app and manually kill the Settings app.
    The evolution of the story.
I went back to Paul that this time got hit by my story as If some close friend died. After few days of investigation he confessed that 'our best guys' couldn't find the way out of the problem and letting me know that he was about to kill himself, he sent me back to speak with the iCloud guys.
Following Paul directions I tried to setup a call with the iCloud team. Naive man, I thought that where a phone number was requested my mobile phone number, was a good candidate to fill in. I set up the appointment, I waited one week, I got the call, I answered the call, a machine asked me to press 1, I pressed 1, the machine kept asking me to press 1 until I understood that an iPhone is not the bast thing to use to get this kind of calls....maybe next time make it clearer upon resrevation my apple friends.
Back on the site and to set up a second phone call on a landline phone, this time only 3 days ahead and this time taking some time of my work. I waited, I got the call, I hit 1, a lady started speaking...good.
To recap, I am a software engineer, I work in the IT in the software development and I am now able to systematically freeze the apple Settings application on both my iPhone and iPad with only one try. Any locking condition like this is called 'bug' and somebody able to reproduce a bug at every try is a guy to love as is giving you the conditions to see a problem that you (this is iCloud) have and should care to fix.
    The climax (this morning).
I give the short version of my story at the lady that is a bit confused but tells me not to give up that we can fix it together. She tells me to go on the site www.icloud.com I do that and I get redirected on www.icloud.com/ipad_welcome. I inform her about the redirection and she tells me that I don't have to type in the search bar but in the address bar. I tell her that is what I am doing but that the site is redirecting me. She tells me that I don't have to type the ipad_welcome part and I tell her that I am not typing it but is the site that is redirecting me. She asks me if I have a computer or laptop, I answer no. She asks me to go on iCloud.com, I answer that I am doing it but I'm being redirected. She tells me that I don't have to type the welcome part...at this point I ask her if there is somebody around her that knows what Internet is and understand just a little bit about redirection user-agents and stuff. I think she didn't like it as at this point she said that she would have sent me an email with the address to use to login on iCloud...just to be sure I asked for confirmation, "is this gonna be www.icloud.com?" she answers yes.
    The email never arrived.
    The epilogue.
Now, I am not mad at apple because I can't use iCloud, I am not mad at them because the settings application crashes always when I try to login on iCloud. I don't think that the lady is stupid (well just a little bit) but I've also payed for the AppleCare on my iPad and if to setup iCloud a normal computer is needed, this should be said pretty clear and loud preventing paying customers to waste their time. If iCloud has a support service, who's selecting the people that are going to give support, should be able to select trained people or to know how to train them...not doing that is crappy quality and until few hours ago I think apple was somewhere this couldn't happen.
Life is not a ferry tail after all and from quite soon I'll go android.

  • When I go into settings iCloud my apple ID is listed as my old apple ID and I am unable to change it. Any help?

I recently updated to to iOS 6.1. When I did it asked me to put in my password but my old apple ID came up. • TS1503 In the iPhone, please explain the requirements in settings for Apple id, iPhone and iCloud

In the iPhone, please explain the requirements in settings for Apple id, iPhone and iCloud

You can use 1 unified Apple ID for iTunes so you don't have to repurchase apps.   That part is fine.
For iCLoud/iMessage/Facetime you should each have a unique ID so the 2 phones will be separate and you won't accidentally erase each other's content and overwrite settings, nor will you get the others messaages by mistake.

  • Change email address / Apple ID in Settings iCloud?

I had to change the email address for my Apple ID. So I did this on the Apple dedicated page. I deleted the old email address as it is not used more. I enabled the new email address which I will use instead. I deactivated mostly linked to my Apple ID on my iPhone. Like FaceTime, iMessage, and so on. Probably I forgot the "Find my iPhone". This now seems to cause me problems because I can not change the email address under Settings > iCloud ... on my iPhone. In this menu the email address / Apple ID is indicated at the top. But it can not be edited / edited?
Every now and then my iPhone ask for the password to my old Apple ID ... and it does not work with that password. How can I solve this?
How do I set up my new email address / Apple ID in Settings > iCloud?

In the menu Settings> iCloud> Account - I can not change the email address. When I press the e-mail address I come to the Account menu. There the Apple ID field gray, can not be edited. The password can however be edited.

Same here. I cannot change my Apple ID ONLY in iCloud on my phone. Everywhere else is fine. I cannot turn off Find My iPhone and/or delete the iCloud account off the phone. This all happened because my phone died, I purchased a new one, and for some reason when I plugged it up the phone did not have the latest backup I did from my other phone. It took me to a backup from November which had the old Apple ID. The new Apple ID works on the Apple Store, iTunes, and everywhere else it is needed except for iCloud.
    PLEASE Someone HELP
If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
