Settings in Iphone 5 not applying to apps?

Hello,
I recently upgraded to an Iphone 5. I have turned off notifications for my mail and facebook apps. I also left notification services on, but turned it (location) OFF for facebook. My results? I am still getting notifications in the form of badge app icons for mail and facebook, and facebook is showing that my location is being used when I type a message. The only way to remedy these situations is to turn off badge app icons (even though the app is no longer in the notification center; it shouldn't be recieving notifications, right?). To remedy facebook using my location, I have to turn off location services all together, just turning off facebook doesn't work. Anyone else notice something parrallel to these problems.? Any solutions/ upcoming fixes? Thank you.

Iphone will not install from App store

I have a problem where my iphone will not install apps from the appstore.
Description:
If I select to install an app in appstore i get prompted for my password. When password is entered no installation starts, but after a brief moment the button to install the app is highlighted again as it were before I pressed it. The app never gets installed.
- I tried with several different apps with the same result.
- I am running IOS6.0 (10A403).
- 5GB free space on the phone
- I am positive that the apple ID password is entered correctly. I changed it twice to see if it made any difference, but no luck, and I also tried entering a faulty password. Withe the faulty password I got a dialogue saying the password is wrong. This dialogue does not appear with the correct password.
- I restarted the phone. No luck with that either.
- Phone is an Iphone 4 100% original.
Any suggestions for a solution?

Can you download the games in iTunes on your computer?
Do you have any restrictions set up in Settings/General/Restrictions that prevent you from installing apps or certain apps?

App store for iphone does not know my apps

I have a second iphone. When I log in with my user id in App Store in this second iphone I cannot see my apps already bought and if I search for one of them instead of having the availability to download theam again I need to pay again.
I know this is not the right behaviour because in my other ipad all the apps are available for download without paying again and there is even a functionality to find all apps in my user and not in my device. But in this ocassion it seems my ihpone do not see any app for my user.
Anyone know the problem?
PS I am using a common user id for the App Store

Just reboot the iphone and now it works.

How do I backup my iPhone to iCloud and restore backup to my iPad? My intention is to restore default settings to my iPad to start over and get it synced back up with my iPhone and not loose the apps on my iPad that are for iPad only.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

Tried that but did not work. Thank you for the reply. However, I did find the correct thing to do though so wanted to share.
Since on my computer I had to create a new admin account, I had to go into the shortcut properties of Itunes. Then hit Compatibility Tab. Had to check Run as Admin.
After hitting Change settings for all users it worked just fine.

Replacement warranted iphone 3g not syncing all apps??

iphone replaced with new as not working-plugged into itunes on my mac mainly to get all my apps back yet some not coming back onto iphone yet others are?
mac is defo authorized as checked?
when i open itunes under library and then apps it has "7" next to the word "applications" yet there are approx 20 - i'm guessing that the 7 is the number of apps not syncing back but wat do i do next

Hi Dominic,
Make sure the applications are all checked on the Applications tab in iTunes. Just click the iPhone on the left side of iTunes, under devices> click the applications tab above the iPhone Summary and check the applications you want to sync to the iPhone.

Privacy settings on ipad2 do not show any apps

I had skype working on my ipad fine. But after some update I denied skype access to the microphone. When I realised my mistake I went to privacy settings to allow skype access to the microphone. But skype was not visible in the microphone section. I tried deleting and installing skype but still nothing shows up. Apple support referred me to skype but there are no apps at all shown in any of the privacy sections what makes me believe it is not a skype specific problem. Can anyone help?

Log out of Skype completely
When you click on Skype app and get login page DO NOT choose your Skype name
instead, you should be offered the choice to sign in using your Microsoft Account (hotmail/outlook)
if you choose this (and have not used that account for Skype before) you should get the pop up asking you to allow Skype access to your mic.
Say Yes/OK, and voila! It should sort the problem out
If you then check Settings>privacy>Microphone, you shoukd see Skype in there
You can then logout of Skype and log back on with your usual Skype ID and you are good to go.

Unlocked Iphone will not run any apps anymore

Yesterday Apple unlocked my Iphone.
Since this time no app will run any more.

I already tried a reset/restore via iTunes
I tried deleting a app from both iTunes and Iphone and the downloading it again.

Ah, missed that you are on a mac.
Try this:
Launch disk utility, select your hard drive and select "repair permissions". When finished, reboot your computer, launch isync, select reset sync history. Launch itunes, connect your phone, sync. When finished, disconnect your phone & see it this fixes the problem.

IPhone will not power off, app will not change , two screens display at one time

Hello, I have a phone that is stuck on one app. Can hold the off button for 3 minutes and will not turn off. Will hold the lower button to change app's and nothing. Can change subjects in the app stuck in and can see both screens while scrolling. Going to let the phone run out of power to see if that will help, but very inconveinent

I seem to have found the answer by my own foolishness....
I held down the on/off button on top and the "belly button" on the front bottom and whoosh! it came back to life.
It would sure be nice if Apple would restore the Troubleshooting area of their website and include information like this so Luddites like myself could keep a lower blood pressure....

Time Capsule Wifi n 5 ghz settings but iphone is not n

I really need a help..
i want to use wifi n in my time capsule so it wont get interference with g b or a wifi network.
but when i select only n then i cannot use iphone on wifi...
i have spare router and wondring if i connect that to time capsule i can use via spare router to connect iphone and my mbp with wifi n with time capsule with wifi n
i dont know if that is possible but anybody have any great ideas would be much great..

i just connect my spare router to TC and my MPB and TIME.C are setup as a only with wifi n

User GPO not applying

I have just started at a new company and trying to to setup some new GPO's
We have all the users in a root OU called Accounts
We have all the computers in a root OU Company\Workstations
There are a number of GPO assigned to the "Workstations" OU for both Users and Computer Policy's
I would like to add some new GPO's to the Users OU for Uses settings but they will not apply or appear.
I have run a Group Policy Results on a few workstations and I can see the GPO being applied from the Workstations OU but none from the Users OU. However if I set the GPO to run off the Workstations OU it appears.

1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.
