I have just installed Mediasource onto a new computer. I have been attempting to burn CD's with absolutely no success. According to Medisource it cannot detect a "recorder". I checked the settings and the box for the CD recorder source is shaded and gives me no options to make any selections. Can anyone help? How can I make Mediasource recognize my CD burner? Thanks!!!!

Some of the MP3 players come with CD burning capability in their MediaSource. Also, I believe the fact that you can see the CD recorder setting (despite being grayed off) means that your MediaSource has the CD Burner installed. Try to download the latest Creative Disc Maker or Creative CD Burner dri've update version. (I found it under download for Zen Xtra.

Good day,
Photoshop CC 2014.2.1 can't sync settings with Creative Cloud for some reason. I'm signed in, no firewalls, the router is fine. Other apps, Premiere Pro for example, sync without issues.
Photoshop keeps saying "Connecting to Creative Cloud..." with uploads starting, but nothing is happening. I've left it in this state for an hour just in case. Is there a workaround or a fix?

For what it's worth I have access to a second computer with the correct sync settings (which I synced to the Cloud, so the Cloud should now have my desired sync settings), but PS on my first computer still refuses to show anyway to apply these settings.
I'm downloading the 2014 release now but it shouldn't really be necessary. This is so frustrating, especially when the Adobe PS sync help page only applies to the 2014 release (I can't find any sync help for the previous versions anymore).

No it doesn't.
Acrobat isn't part of the Creative Cloud product range, it is included in the CC subscription packages but it doesn't include features of the "... CC" products such as Sync or Typekit.

Proxy settings for Creative Suite updating

What are the proxy settings when I update Creative suite on windows. I need the port and network ranges.

I don’t know, but you can manually download the update for the Creative Suite directly from the Adobe website. Since the Creative Suite is very old at this point you are unlikely to see much in the way of updates except maybe security updates for Acrobat.

CD Ripping Settings in Creative Media L

Hello, everyone.
When I open Creative Media Lite and go to the "Rip CD" option with the intent of ripping a CD to my hard ri've, all the traks on the CD should be selected by default. Lately, however, they are all deselected. In adition, although the "My Computer" checkbox is checked, the "Device" checkbox is checked also. I'm not sure what I did to produce this problem. I can manually change these settings on the fly, of course, but I would much ratehr they came up by default as they used to. Can someone offer some help, please?

Sync settings with Creative Cloud

Sooo .... I drank the cool aid and subscribed to CC - If anything just to look at how it works and how it helps ME.
I have been a PS user since 2006 and while I'm not a professional artist I am a very keen photographer. Additionally, I can still pull out and the first year trial is relatively affordable for a CS6 user.
My question is this:
Once I signed up I reloaded CS6 from the CC product options. I then checked for updates and it reloaded some updates. So how do I know I have the CC version? The System Info states that I have Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.1.2 (13.1.2 20130105.r.224 2013/01/05:23:00:00) x64.
The reason I ask is that I saw an interesting blog item on syncing settings with the CC Cloud. When I checked my CS6 menu, I did not have the Sync option. I am thinking that this may not be the correct way to update my in-place installed version of CS6 to the more current version of CC CS6.
Any help appreciated.

As it stands now I can't see how to sync smart collections, keywords, etc.

Deploying Settings for Creative Suite Products - network environment with redirected folders

Hi there. We have some deployment questions regarding settings for the Adobe Master Collection. Because we have redirected folders for my docs, etc., they are located on our file server for all of our users (school environment). The problem is all Adobe programs default their save and caching locations to the my docs folder, which is on the server and causes slow downs and network traffic issues. Is there a way to set these with a file or a deployment option, or what options do we have?

This stuff is stored in the prefs of the programs and unless you go in and change each of the prefs files there is no way to change this.

Both the variable TEMP and TMP should be defaulted to the Local Settings\Temp directory. Is that not the case?
If they are just change them to where you want.

Creative Cloud and Proxy Support

To whom it may concern,
I am a Technical Specialist for an Enterprise. We use Astaro (now Sophos) as a our proxy appliance. We use Active Directory based authentication to provide internet access to our clients.
I am currently in the process of building a SOE for our Mac workstations. It is based on Mac OS X 10.8.4 and uses deploy studio to install. We have used the Creative Cloud packager to build an installer that contains all the packages for the Creative Cloud suite. The whole suite is installed but I need to be able to connect to the activation servers via the proxy to finalise the installation after deploying the SOE.
When I run the Creative Cloud installer, I am prompted for credentials even though the credentials are stored in the user keychain. When I monitor the proxy activity log, I cannot see these credentials being passed to the proxy. I can see requests being generated but the user is "" or null.
What authentication methods are supported by the Creative Cloud application in regards to proxies? Are there any logs available to narrow down the problem?
The other thing I have noticed, is the Creative Cloud is not honouring the sites in the proxy bypass list. For example if I have 192.150.3.51 in the proxy bypass list under 'System Preferences', 'Network', 'Advanced', 'Proxies', and I try to login into Creative Cloud, I still have requests to this IP address in the proxy log.
Is there a seperate config file for the proxy settings for Creative Cloud?
I also want to pass on that this has cost me (and my company) so far about 4 business days of time so far to diagnose and troubleshoot. We never had these issues with are previous Adobe Volume Licencing agreement and the CS6 product family. Our support techs have admitted that they breach company policy everytime a new mac is deployed just to be able to get CC installed by bypassing our security measures and connecting the mac directly to the internet as they have found that the only reliable method of being able to complete the installation procedure.
This is not an acceptable solution - moving to a redeployable SOE will only make this problem worse as our macs will periodically get re-imaged meaning that we will have to reactivate Creative Cloud again for our users to again have access to their tools and perform their tasks.
I do not believe that our infrastructure is very different to any other Enterprise out there (eg Internet access only via authenticated user) so I am not sure why this was not suppported out of the box.
I would appreciate any help you can provide.

The Creative Cloud Desktop app and the CCP do not currently provide direct support for a proxy. We expect that functionality will be available with CCP 1.3 release which is expected to release soon. Web Proxy Auto Discovery (WPAD) fails in Creative Cloud

The Creative Cloud desktop application has a problem with WPAD automatic proxy detection. When the computer is configured to "automatically detect settings", the Creative Cloud application will not load the Apps list, giving the error "Download Error. Unable to reach Adobe servers. Please check your internet connectivity, firewall settings, and then try again." All other elements of the Creative Cloud application (logging in, accepting terms of use, the "Home", "Files", "Fonts" and "Behance" tabs have no issues using the automatically detected settings). I can refresh a netstat on the command line and see that the Creative Cloud application tries to make direct calls to the EC2 servers when attempting to connect to the "Apps" list instead of using the proxy.
If I manually configure a PAC file or manually configure the proxy on the computer, the Creative Cloud can connect successfully. The failure only occurs with "automatic detect settings". I have tested different WPAD server configurations, to include Apache on Unix, IIS7 on Windows, text/plain and application/x-ns-proxy-autoconfig MIME types, and CNAME vs A record for 'wpad'. Creative Cloud continues to fail to operate correctly.
The old version of Adobe Application Manager can successfully connect and download updates using "automatic detect settings". It will update itself (and installed apps) successfully. After it updates itself, it will connect and update itself a second time, this time replacing itself with the Creative Cloud application, which fails to connect. This behaviour is new to the Adobe Application Manager once it becomes the Creative Cloud application.
It seems from what "official" documentation I can find that this is currently "broken as designed" (see Adobe references at bottom of post). Connecting directly from a client to the internet without a proxy is prohibited by our information security policy (the chat support agent tried to tell me 3 times that the "solution" was to disable the proxy and open ports 80 and 443 to the internet). Manually configuring the proxy through a PAC file or manually setting proxy information causes other issues and performance problems (I strongly disagree with Adobe staff member Jeff Wright's assertion that automatically detecting the settings is "a common issue with most applications"--see reference at bottom of post).
While I could technically open the firewall or manually configure the proxy to make the Creative Cloud function properly, these are unacceptable workarounds as already stated. Considering that the previous iteration (Adobe Application Manager) functioned just fine with automatically detected settings, and that the rest of the Creative Cloud application functions properly with automatically detected settings, it seems that this should be a minor issue to correct with the application, to ensure that the application cataloging and downloading respects the same configuration as the rest of the client. What is the official Adobe position on the current broken functionality of the Creative Cloud application, and what is the timeline in implementing a fix?

Where is the "Sync Settings Now" button?

I have just upgraded from CS6 to CC, thus new to the Cloud. I was able to create a folder on the Cloud and upload a file to it. On the far right is "Desktop Sync Settings", when I click on it I get another window telling me I need to open my desktop application and click "Sync Settings Now".
I have looked through the desktop application and the only buttons (under Assets) are "Open Folder", "View on Web" and "View Archive". I also checked Photoshop and Illustrator and I'm not seeing it.
Am I looking in the wrong place?
I'm using Win7 64 bit.

You can get more information about using sync settings in each of the desktop applications here: Creative Cloud Help | Sync application settings with Creative Cloud. In general, though, you can find "Sync Settings Now" option on the menu item for your Adobe ID under the Edit menu.

Sync settings, what does each option do?

When presented with this, what does each option do?
Does 'Sync Local' push my local settings to the cloud, or sync the settings from the cloud to the local machine? Seems like this could be made more apparent... Any time I setup a new machine and get this sort of prompt on first launch I normally hit 'Sync Cloud' thinking it'll then download my settings and apply them, but that never happens - I always have to manually setup the settings again.

Creative T7900 Music Problem

I have a problem with creative t7900 7.1 and Audigy SE. I have select 7.1 from the settings of creative utilitie from drivers and 7.1 in sound properties from windows.But the music(audio cd,mp3) from windows media player 10 and from the media player of creative is hear only from the 2 front speakers + subwoofer. I uninstall/install drivers but nothing. Why i cant hear music from all my speakers-except center- ?

That's normal for stereo stuff. You should try turning on CMSS feature of your Audigy card. That should help.

X-fi Gamer\Vista Ultimate 64\Creative DTS-610...any of you gurus know what the problem may

Hi everyone, well, like many of you, I patiently waited for the "new" drivers to be released on March 8th, and was sorely dissapointed that they didn't do much more than the Beta version. Mostly what I wanted, was to have 5. through SPDIF. (My SACD player takes up the analog ports on my home ent. reciever, so this is why I require SPDIF). So, as much as I hated to give more of my money to Creative, I went ahead and bought a DTS-60 to be able to connect the analog output of my X-Fi gamer... to the DTS-60.... to digital "in" on my reciever. Ok, Windows seems to work... I can play movies ripped to my HD and get 5.. (I am a little disappointed that the DTS-60?it is only DTS and not also Dolby Digital, but at least it is 5.)?HOWEVER, when I try to use?any of the Creative?software for testing, I get the right rear speaker playing through the right front, and the left rear seems to play through the center channel. But if I test it in Windows control panel, each speaker plays as it should!?I have looked through all the settings in creatives software and do not see anything that would cause this.
Also what is strange, is that a SACD (super audio CD) will play all 5. channels EXCEPT the left rear. While I am a technical professional (got my Cisco CCNA cert today ;-) I don't pretend to know a lot about sound cards. The PC I just built in which I use this card is the first I have built since SB 6 days. So, I thought I would ask members of this forum who have more experience and are up to speed on the latest sound card technology. So sound card Guru's...Any Ideas on what to look for?Thanks
