Settings password

There is a "sign in" at the bottom left of the printer's control panel screen. When I press it, it asks for a password. I just set up the printer and it did not prompt me to set a password. I have tried entering nothing, and also have entered my hp password but each time it tells me it is incorrect and to contact my network administrator or the person who set up the printer. This is a home printer so there is no network administrator. Is there a default password? How can I set a new password without the default? Thanks

I am not familiar with this particular printer at all. Maybe the Manual will offer some help: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/home/?cc=us&cc=us&lang=en&lang=en&sp4ts.oid=5043093&ac.admitted=1436239422381.876444892.492883150#manuals

I can no longer send iCal invitations.  I have not changed any settings, passwords or email accounts.  No idea what to do.

    Greetings,
    Questions:
What happens when you put in an email address in an event? (Make sure the email address is also in your addressbook (Macintosh HD > Applications > Addressbook)
Are you using calendars that show up under "On My Mac" on the left hand side of iCal or are the calendars under a different heading?
    Troubleshooting:
Make sure that you can send / receive email in the Apple Mail program.
Make sure that the email address in Mail > Preferences > Accounts is also on your Addressbook card:Go to Addressbook > Card > Go to My Card -- The email address you are using to send receive messages on your computer should be on this card.
If that doesn't take care of it:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
    4. Launch iCal and test.
    If the issue persists:
    1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    3. Launch iCal and test.
    Hope that helps!

  • How to to override content of server's backup by current browser's settings/passwords/bookmarks?

Typical scenario: after long manual bookmark organization Firefox Sync adds trash from its server to my laptop or tablet.
Where can I find how to override content of server's backup by current browser's settings/passwords/bookmarks? Stupid me, I set up new sync and lost this capability.

Sync has always had a problem'''*''' of mangling and duplicating bookmarks. I suppose I am not surprised to see it still happens.
I have not got time at the moment to give full details but hope this still helps.
Sync is very much a double edged sword,
*It helps by seamlessly syncing bookmarks between devices, and now New Sync even lets you use it from a single device to the server.
*But new sync gives no options to control Sync direction. And clearly is still capable of messing up bookmarks in a manner that is difficult almost impossible to sort out other than to rely on the last good backup.
You can use the bookmarks checkbox to turn off the bookmark syncing but you need to sort the mess out manually. Rather late now to mention that it is always a good idea to periodically manually backup your bookmarks.
First of all backup the profiles on each device (That at least preserves information). If this has happened recently you can possibly restore to a previous bookmarks backup. Take care though to make manual backups of bookmarks as you work. Restores overwrite & destroy bookmarks. Note HTML backups can be appended, and the files and folders are easy to edit and read.
There is also a possibility of the Windows OS having a copy of the database, (''places.sqlite'' - a hidden, Firefox profile file) but again care with ensuring you have backups before replacing.
'''*''' Bug 812348 - Firefox Sync duplicating and scrambling bookmarks & folders
'''(Additional info not updated for Fx30,''' - based on Firefox 29 menu - but '''linked articles will be up to date''')
If you have any current bookmarks save them now as an HTML files by exporting them as HTML. This sort of backup has the advantage that it can be appended to current bookmarks.
*see [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]]
It is important to note the ordinary backups overwrite and destroy any existing bookmarks when you import them.
*Do a full backup of bookmarks before you attempt any restore. <br />See [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
The bookmarks themselves are stored within the Firefox profile and the file is called places.sqlite , that is the file you want. (There are also backup bookmarks within a backup folder inside the profile, they may also be useful files.)
*You can find the profile from<br />Firefox Button -> Help-> Troubleshooting Information -> [Open folder] <br />See [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data#w_how-do-i-find-my-profile]]_how-do-i-find-my-profile
*This explains the Windows feature http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Previous-versions-of-files-frequently-asked-questions <br /> Previous versions are available from right click options. Just take care with overwriting files, always back them up first

first, you posted a symbian question in the maemo forum...you may have better luck there.
second, i hope you have a backup.  the only way credible people would help you with this is if you posted a receipt showing the unit you have is paid for by you...and not stolen.

  • How do I stop Firefox from removing Internet Explorer settings (passwords, Google preferences etc) every time I use FF and go back to IE?

I have FF 3.6 and IE6 on the same XP machine. I have no choice
re IE6. FF is only there to allow me to access non-IE6
compatible sites. Most sites I use are on an intranet and
    must use IE6.
Typically, if I have to use FF for something, after doing so
my IE6 settings (mainly cookies) for things such as usernames,
passwords, Google preferences etc are lost. This is reproducible
    behavior.

Well, it's doing something - by design or otherwise. The only time the settings for websites I access via IE disappear is after using FireFox.

  • E-mail settings password

Hi, all!  My new Pearl's working fine except...when I select "email settings" and try to log in for "exisiting users," I enter my password (the same PW I use to unlock the device) and get the error message "Please check your information and try again;" if I try "Forgot Password,"  and submit my User Name (I've tried different variations) I'm always told that my "password has been successfully sent to your BlackBerry device."  Yet, even though I have no problems with my BlackBerry email service, I never receive the messages containing my password.  So, can anyone help me get past the security blocks to access my email settings?  Thanks in advance.

AT&T can fix this, I am sorry they couldn't do it. Maybe you can. Can you reset your password at https://att.blackberry.com/
I'm with sprint, had the same issue and they reset it for me. If you can't reset the password, call AT&T again and point them to their own link. Ask for 2nd level tech support.

  • 9951 and settings password

    Hi,
I had a 9951 on a callmanager 9.1.2 and I always could get in the administration settings menu of the phone.
The same phone is now registered on a CME 10 and suddenly there is this password to access the administrating settings menu.
In the CME I don't use any password in the SIP configuration (uses MAC for security)
I tried 'cisco' but it doesn't work.
Is there a default password, and how can I disable this password.
Using SCCP phones you can use the "service phone" command
Is there something similar for Cisco SIP phones?
    Thanks,
    JH

    Hello Karthik,
Thank you for your quick reply.
    Yes this is working, thanks.
Can I have the settings menu without password?
It is not really a big problem, just would like to know.
It seems that in CME (10) the default is that the administration menu is password protected, when I reregister the phone on callmanager 9, I can access the menu without password.
    Thanks,
    Jan

  • Everytime I restart my comp, Firefox loses all my settings, passwords, and history, but keeps the bookmarks

I have Win XP SP3, and for about the last 4 days, every time I restart my computer, or go 14 or so hours between browsing if I leave the thing on, Firefox basically restarts like its out of the box (so to speak). It re-installs all of my plugins, puts me back at the FF Google start page, none of my logins & pw are saved, and I am logged out of every website I was logged into. But funny enough all my bookmarks are still there.
Any ideas on how to fix this or what is happening with my browser would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

No it will not. Your settings, passwords, bookmarks and other data are stored in another location so they won't be harmed.

  • Lost WiFi password. How can I get it back?

Hello, all. A few months ago I was cleaning out my laptop of old files I don't need anymore and since I had amassed at least 150 files (yeah, I'm not very frequent on cleaning), I was mass deleting files to make it a faster task. In my deleting spree, I deleted a  very important file. A file that held my WiFi security settings, password, etc. I now need my WiFi password since I'm buying a Wii U when that comes out on the 18th.
I am hoping to hook up said Wii U to the internet, but as we all know, that requires WiFi which requires knowing your password. Which, I don't know the password by heart, and I need the find it again. Is there any way for me to find the password of my WiFi router without having to call in someone from the GEEK Squad or would it be best to have someone sent out? Its not a major hurry since its just a gaming console and therefore not a life necessity, but still it'd be nice to have.
The router is a Linksys and if it means anything my two computers are Windows XP (PC) and Windows 7 (laptop). Thanks for any help that can be offered. Hoping I can get this resolved.

You're much better off utilizing the 'reset' button the back of your router and going through the setup again, and writing down the password that you set this time.

I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.

  • Password protecting a network

I just moved into a new house – a six-week sublet – and we’re using one of the apple wireless routers, but it’s painfully slow. It’s not password protected, so I imagine some of our neighbors are picking up on it. I’m sure the girls I moved in with don’t have any of the settings, passwords, etc. Is it still possible for me to figure out how to password protect our network?
    Thanks!
    Alec

    Hi Alec
Yes - you can administer the Airport base station using the Airport Admin Utility in your Utilities folder. Launch it, and it should detect the base station on your network. The base station itself (not the network) may be protected by a password. You can reset the password by soft-resetting the base station:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107451
Once you can access the station through Admin Utility, add protection to the wireless network as described here:
