Settings, preferences for the Sequence

i'm capturing footage i shot with the panasonic 100a,
and before i bring footage into a project to edit
i need to make sure my original presets are what i need from here on out....
i just want the most 'pure' treatment of my footage once it's in the sequence,
not going through thing it doesn't need. in the end, my final film must be just like it is when i put in the computer.
i'm not familiar with settings like:
* field of dominance, such as lower(even)
* pixel aspect ratio
* video processing, like YUV allowed (8-bit)
* white point
* compressor (i don't see why i'd won't compress my footage, if it's not to be
made into a steaming video clip or the alike)
* data rate limit
on my panasonic the setting i shot with, instead of '24 p' was 'scene advanced'.

Select the Easy Setup that matches the source materials' properties. i.e. if it's anamorphic choose that etc... You can probably capture it at 29.97 even if you've shot 24fps. It will look exactly the same either way. The only reason to capture it and remove pulldown is if you're going to print back to film. You neededn't worry about any of the custom settings at all... just use the easy setup that matches what you shot.

I have not installed Quicktime.
I got a few scenes (.mov) from a Canon Eos 70d.
I want to create a short film (in Premiere CS4) with these scenes, mixed with photos and MP3 music.

I can't find preferences for the notes app. and every once in awhile some of my notes just disappear at start up, I see the name and then it refreshes and they are gone, very annoying. Can anyone tell me why it does this and how to stop it? thanks

Setting preferences for the Type Tool

Is there a way to change the preferences for the TypeTool? For example, when using it to create a frame, can I set it so that the vertical justification is center instead of top? At present I have to use command B to bring up a panel to make that change. CS4 on a Mac.

You're not talking about preferences for the Type tool. That would be for character or paragraph formatting. You're talking about preferences for a type frame.
You should create an Object Style (Window > Styles > Object Styles) that creates a frame the way you like and apply it as an object style.

My Acount Settings & Preferences for Mail keep verting to previous settings

The references to my "Account Directory" show my previous e-mail settings-
/User/my name/Library/Mail/POP- old email address. When I try to change these settings to my new e-mail address it immediate activates an email but without a recipients name. When I deleted the reference to my previous
e-mail address settings it keeps returning the previous settings in the Library section. I have removed all references to my previous dial-up settings in the System Preferences-Network because I am now on broadband and have been for 2 years. When I deleted the POP references to my previous e-mail address I lost ALL my inbox and outbox e-mails that I had for the last two years. I am about to upgrade from Panther to Tiger shortly which means I will have new "Mail" software. Currently I have Mail 1.3.11
Is it better to remove this e-mail settings problem as above, first or hope the upgrade to Tiger will do it for me? I prefer to get rid of my previous e-mail settings first before upgrading to Tiger. Can somone help please?

As referenced when creating an account with Mail, an account named folder is created within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail that is named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account. The accounts' mailboxes are located within the account named folder which represent the account named mailboxes under In, Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk in the mailboxes drawer.
When changing the account settings for an existing account - the account's incoming mail server or email address, the name of the account named folder within the Mail folder does not change which has or should not have any adverse effect.
Deleting an email account with Mail also deletes the account named folder and the accounts' mailboxes within and an error message is provided before doing so that indicates this.

I haven't experienced the same or heard of this but you can't enter any recipients or cancel this new message that is created automatically?

This was before deleting the old account associated with the dial-up internet provider or did this also occur after deleting the dial-up account and recreating the account associated with the broadband provider?

Upgrading to Tiger will not do this automatically but besides the name of the account named folder within the Mail folder, are there any problems associated with this?

Where is settings.json for the transmission-cli package?

I installed transmission-cli earlier today, I've spent a while trying to work out where settings.json is (via google and trawling my mounts), but have been unable to locate it.
People seem to say that the user configuration file is at ~/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json, and the global configuration file is at /etc/transmission-daemon/settings.json, but neither of these exist on my system. I did notice that /etc/conf.d/transmissiond has a commented out line regarding it, but I can't find the default file to copy over and modify in any case.
Any ideas?

Have you started transmissiond yet? IIRC, doing so will create the files in ~/.config, at which point you can stop the daemon, edit settings.json and start it up again.

Is it possible to restore the factory settings just for the internet?

I am a student and I was having trouble logging in at my university. I called IT and they had me change all sorts of things under System Preferences - Network. They had me add a location and set the IP address manually. Now I am having trouble getting online anywhere else. I just want the network settings to be how they were when I got the computer 3 months ago and my ability to access technical support from apple just ended on Nov. 30 so I would really appreciate anyone's help.

Just tried this and it worked for me. Go into Network preferences and click the lock to allow you to make changes. Hit the minus key to delete all your different accounts. Once they are all gone you can add what you need back I usually use airport so that is the only one I brought back on line.

Can I change preferences for the File Find window

In the search window that opens when you go to File > Find, how do I save changes I make to the search parameters? I want the same settings every time that window pops up. Is this possible? Thanks.

Firefox preference for the cross domain js call between iframes?

for my web application i need to access the contents of iframe which is loaded from the another application running on different port. i am using the javascript to access the contents of the iframe. all i need is the any preference is there for this.
Note: Both applications are running on the same host but different port. i know the document.domain solves the problem. but i have lot of pages may be 1000 or even more. its pretty big product. so i canot set in each and every page. so i created one extension for our product. so any preference is there then i can set the preference while installing the plugin. it solves the problem.

Bring back Display Performance preferences for the Hand Tool

I'm using Illustrator CS5 and just found out this preference was removed.
I'm experiencing sluggish behavior when I pan a document with some embedded photos.
What am I supposed to do now?
Why was it removed?
We get multiple artboards so we can do more work in one document.
But now you take away features that made it faster to work in bigger documents.
Will you make up you minds?
I'm working on a newer, very fast Mac. And it's still sluggish when I pan.

Where can I find the Preferences for the Most Visited bookmarks folder on my Bookmarks Toolbar? I want to add more.

In the past, I was able to add up to 15 bookmarks, but when I downloaded Firefox for my new laptop in January, and moved my files from my old computer, this folder only shows 10, and I can't find where to change it.

I tried that, but it should be a folder in the toolbar (not a bookmark) that opens with a list of the top visited sites. Currently, it reverted back to 10 from 15 on my old computer after I downloaded Firefox to my new laptop in January and moved my files from my old computer to my laptop.
When I created a new bookmark as you suggested, it opened up a window (not a list in a folder), and I got this message: Firefox can't find the file at place:redirectsMode=2&sort=8&maxResults=20. However, I'm not looking for a window to open. I already have a "Most Visited" folder with the 10 most-visited sites. I just want to increase the number of sites on the list in that folder.

Trying to download new firefox get a download error. What association must I change in preferences for the download to work?

Have a Pentium4 with Windows XP and have been using Firefox 3.6 happily.
Tried to download the new version as Firefox urged me to and got error message that download failed Firefox setup could not be opened because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.
OK how do I do this and what association do I change it to?
