Settings required for importing a QT Screen recording into FCP

I have just recorded a screen recording using QT and need to import it into FCP. I have tried, but an error message comes up saying FCP can not read the format. File error 1 - What do I need to do when exporting out of QT so I can import and edit in FCP??

QuickTime Player's Screen recording function makes H264 video clips You can't use those in FCP.
Convert to ProRes LT using either Compressor or MPEG Streamclip.

Importing QT X Screen Recording into iMovie or FCE

I have the new version of QT which allows you to do screen recordings. Nice feature. Except that once I get done capturing I need to edit what I recorded. So, I tried importing into iMovie '09 and it says it will take 4 hours to import it.
Am I doing something wrong or did Apple design a piece of software that does not record in a format to work easily, seamlessly with another Apple software program? I tried doing this with FCE, too, and again it is going to take hours for it to be converted into a format that the app understands.
I am using the default recording setting in Quicktime which creates a video in H.264, 1440x900 (screen size, of course), Millions of colors. The file is only 225.16MB in size.
Any thoughts? TIA

Yes it is really good to look into. iMovie or FCE ?
Depends - they are both editing programs and I would say that there the
similariity ends.
There are (in my view) two different approach to get about the same result
but to do this in iMovie You probably need to add a lot of plug-ins + add
sound editing programs to iMovie and get a cost that is not so far from that
of FCE.
BUT
FCE has a rather hefty learning in curv. but many things are extreamly easy
to do like:
- rotate and resize a clip
- picture in pucture
- change of sound amplification (increase or decrease)
- getting the text how and where You want it.
but
- transitions are not as easy as in iMovie and much more.
So if You have good grades and easy to re-learn then FCE is a good choise
but if You are a person that are satisfyed with what You have learned and
feel it bad to have to learn an entirely different way to import clips and
strukture Your movie. Stay with iMovie, may be upgrade to iLife 6.
(I use both of them for what is easy in one and then move to the other for
what's is easy there)

What are the settings required for QM in procurement. I have set indicator for QM in procurement in QM view in material master.
I am not clear about following fields to be maintained in QM view.
QM Control Key
Certificate type
Target QM system
Tech. delivery terms Indicator.
Please suggest me in which case to be used this fiels. Is it relivant to Quality Certificates.

All meaning are
QM Control Key :
If you activate the indicator for QM in procurement in the material master record at the client level, you must also store a control key at the plant level for quality management in procurement.
Certificate type :
Certificate types applies to the Certificate processing in procurement & Certificate creation
Target QM system :
whether the vendor's verified QM system, according to vendor master record or quality info-record (for a combination of vendor/material) meets the requirements for QM systems as specified in the material master
- If you activate the indicator for QM in procurement in the material master record at the client level, you must also store a control key at the plant level for quality management in procurement. If you want Procurment control then accordingly define Control Key.
- If you want Vendor's perticular certificate for Material then you have to define Certificate type.
Also, you have to maintain Material, Vendor's Info record at plant level.

1. If you are selling the Service , Use Material Type u201CDIENu201D and for billing with SD module ,u have to use MM with HR module like (Time & Material ) ie..Expense recording (PR05) then PRRW and PRFI.
2 .If vendors provide service for you and you can procure the service and pay to vendor.
The configuration required are:
2.1. Define organization status for service category
SPRO u2013>MM-> ESM->Service master- >Define organization status for service category
2.2. Define Number Ranges
SPRO u2013>MM-> ESM->Service master- >.Define Number Ranges
2.3. Define Service Category
SPRO u2013>MM-> ESM->Service master- > Define Service Category
& you can do assignment of cost object ( cost center, project, sales order) with co.code with G/L account in OKB9 t.code and in t.code OBYC account assignment of GBB,WRX with G/L.
***After above you can create Master data as Service master AC03
& the transactions are
A. Create PO ME21N (Acc,assment cat. K or P or C as required and item category D) and enter other detail with service master.
B. Create SES w.r.t. PO in ML81N
C. MIRO w.r.t. SES
D. Payment to vendor in F-53

I need the settings required for saving ths data changed in a database table into a customizing request.

I have a maintenance screen for a DB table.
Whenever a user creates/changes data to/from the DB table , using the maintenance screem, the data should be saved into a customizing TR.

Hi there,
Any config change will be saved under a transport request TR. Also tables are of 2 types: Customizing table & application table.
Changes / new entry in a customized table are transportable. You will gte a TR when the customized table values are changed / new entry.
But application table entry / changes are non transportable. You willnot get a TR when saving the data.
To know it, go to SE11 --> give the table name --> display --> attributes --> Delivery class. Delivery class A is application table, C is customizing table.
Also some standard tables like MARA, VBAK are not allowed to maintain. If a table is allowed to be maintained, table maintaience allowed is checked in the above.

ATP check requires following configuration setting.
1) The availability check is indecator needs to be switched on at requirement class lavel.
2) The availability check is indecator needs to be switched on at schedule line lavel.
3) Set availability check 02/ 01(individual / daily requirement) in Sales Genral plant view of Material master.
4) Set the checking group in the MRP3 view of Material master.
5) Above all a plant must be assigned to the line item in the sales order.

following is a process for import PO
1)Create Vendor and give Order Currency(USD,JPY Etc) in XK01.
2)Create Material Master and give appropriate Description Because Users shoud Identify Correct Mtrl Or Activate Split valuation.
3)Create Import Purchase order for Import Vendor ( U can create separete Document type and Purchasing group.but not necessary )
4)Mention Duty rates (CVD,Customs,Cess on CVD,cess on Customs,HSC on CVD,HSC on Customs and ADC) and Don't forget to mention Custom Vendor In Duty rates condition type.
5)MIRO Customs Invoice,U can Invoice in Vendor Currency as well as Indian Currency.
6)Recieve the Material Through MIGO,If you Currectly maintaining Customizing of Excise Duties at the Time of MIGO u can take credit for CVD,Cess on CVD,HSC on CVD and ADC and rest of all add to ur material cost.
7)In MIGO u can Capture the Excise invoice and in J1IEX post the Excise invoice.
8)After Recieving the goods and Payment to the Customs raise a Invoice for Main Vendor.

How do I change the settings in quick time player to screen record video using less hard drive space?

how do I change the settings in quick time player to use less hard drive space when performing a screen record? When I screen record a video lets say from vimeo, QTP seems to use a lot of hard drive space. Please help. Are there settings some where to adjust to slim down the video size? Thanks for your input.

I just did a short SR test, first I exported to 480p, then I saved the file. Now I have 2 files one 11.9mb (export) and the other 42.8mb (save). I then took the save file and performed an export on it to 480p. Guess what, it saved at 11.9mb. So it seemed to save me 3/4 of the space. Lets see what happens with a 17 minute SR. Thanks!
Any suggestions on getting the sound louder with the SR?
For anyone else ever seeing this post, for me the best was using an external speaker whether wired or bluetooth, facing the left side of the computer where the internal mic hole is. Good Luck!

Why can't I import a .mov created with QT screen recording into FCX?

I created a .mov file with QuickTime's Screen Recording mode. The movie thus created opens in the QuickTime Player and plays fine, but when I try to import it into FCX's editor with File>Import, I get an error message: "File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown".
Why can't I import this .mov to edit it in FCX?

Bengt, I believe the OP's "FCX" does mean FCE.
Like Al said, they need to be transcoded (say, to AIC) in something like MPEG Streamclip, QT Pro or Compressor.
Actually, FCP X will happily open them.

For MTS, maintaining the Planning Starategy 10 in Mtrial MAster is the Only thing we need to do.
System by default will do the rest of the things for you.
In MD61, system will propose Requirements Type LSF.
Sales Order will be for Inforamtion Purpose.
PIR will be reduced after PGI to the SO.
If you require any specific thing pl. inform.

Good luck with that. I have never seen any "list of all countries" before like you are wanting. This will typically be part of your requirements gathering and blueprinting tasks.
Just one question....what is your "global template" for implementation and what is your scope for localization? That will dictate much of your work.

Quicktime screen recording to FCP

I am able to do a screen recording with QT 10. Then, with qt 7 I have all kinds of export options - none of which I've found yet to be compatible for import to FCP. I'm getting an "unknown file error when I try to import." Is there a way to export/import my screen recording? What would be the export settings. My sequence in FCP is NTSC 720x480.

That didn't work. What did work was to take the qt movie through mpg streamclip and do the conversion then export. On another note...I'm new to the forum; I've read the tutorials; I still don't understand how to search for a topic without posting my question. I clicked "don't post" because I found my answer...but it posted the question anyway. So are there any more user forum tutorials?

What is the best workflow procedure for importing DV SP 16x9 footage into FCP7 and then exporting the best quality 16x9 to standard DVD so that it looks great (or at least good) on a 50" Samsung LCD TV ?????? Please help! anybody?? Thanks!

We are using a Sony HDV-Z7U camera for acquisition. We recently recorded an event using the camera's non HD capabilities. We set the camera to record "DV SP" 16x9 settings on both Mini-DV tape and CF card.
To import the DV SP footage into FCP7 we chose the "DV NTSC anamorphic" setting in the log and transfer settings window. After a successful transfer from the CF card (the CF card held approximately 83 minutes) we checked the size of the file and found it to be 16 Gigs! Why so big? An 83 miniDV tape shot in SD should easily fit on a standard 4.7 gig MPEG2 DVD.
We need to burn DVDs of this show - we sent it to compressor and got horrible quality.
What is the best setting to use in FCP7's log and transfer settings window to import DV SP 16x9 standard def. footage and what is the best method for exporting for outputting this footage to DVD that preserves the original quality of the DV SP footage?? Anyone? Many thanks

No it doesn't. DV is 13GB per hour.
In any case, a Video DVD uses the MPEG 2 codec, not DV.

Use the Compressor DVD preset "Best Quality 90 mins".

Not going to happen, you are compressing by a factor of 1:4. Shooting as HDV would have given you better quality material to start with. DV is at the bottom end of the scale.
