I've followed PREMIER PRO CS3 User Guide's directions (pg. 514-515) to Adobe Media Encoder but cannot get audio of original clip included on encoded clip for uploading to YouTube. Original clip was typical audio/video .avi. Any help will be greatly appreciated here. T2

Fcp X share export media export video & audio but I simply can't work with audio

I simply wanna (and even tried to) save a movie using whichever codec, I make sure to set it up on "export video & audio", but I cannot do anything on audio since the audio file format won't be highlighted (just like if there was no sound on a video & audio file !!) It works if I choose an "audio only" file, but that's not what I want - I want to export video & audio. !!!
Is it a matter of codec or a preference setting... I just cant figure out !
Has anybody ever got the same trouble?

It was set to Surround and 48Khz. I set it to Stereo (and 44.1Khz for good measure, as that is the sample rate of my soundtrack) and then re-exported to H.264, and now the audo is perfectly centered.
So that's perfect, thanks.
Now the only thing wrong with FCPX is how it crashes every ten minutes or so!

thats way too vague of a question... best what? quality? size? playback?
best quality then use high bitrate, small size use low bitrate.

Unlinking multiple Video/audio clips

Coming from FCP I'm used to doing certain things as part of the workflow.   One of these is being able to link / unlink multiple video/audio clips at the same time to that I can selectively delete or disable the audio if I'm running a second audio recorder or perhaps mixing a backing track.
In PPro it seems like as soon as I select more than one clip the 'Unlink' option is grayed.    How can I select (say) 10 clips, unlink the audio from the video so that I can delete or disable it.   The reason for disable is that I may want the ambient sounds later on in the mix, but if I disable this audio without unlinking I also disable the video.
I don't want to keep moving stuff on to more and more audio tracks and then have to mute the track, that's time consuming and a pain.   All I want to do it unlink multiple clips.
This can't be that hard can it ?

You don't need to Unlink in order to Delete. Just hold down the Alt key while selecting the audio portion of the clips.
You can 'disable' the audio by turning off the entire track, which is very easy to undo if you ever want the audio back.
It's a slight shift in work flow, but the end result is the same.

Distortion after every transition in exported video/audio.

Question. I just finished creating a video in Premiere Pro CC. I export the video, and I notice that at every video transition, there is feedback for about 5 seconds. I tried exporting the video to different video formats, exporting the audio by itself (issue persists). Any ideas on what might be going on?

We can't know. You have not provided any info about your project, your video sources, what transitions you used, your exact render settings, audio mix details, how you review and verify your output and whatnot. You need to be much more specific. Ask in the Premiere forum and provide all those details.

Moving Video & Audio Clips on Timeline

How can I move all video and audio clips on the timeline together? I can select and move all video clips, or all audio clips, but I can't find a way to move everything together. Moving separately will put audio and video out of sync.

Lock the audio to the Playhead first (Advanced menu).
But you should be able to select both video and audio clips together using the usual shift key.

Audio source of the file that doesn't work in your page but does work "directly".
The movie worked for me using Safari.
I would expand the page layout so that you don't have a scroll on the "video" side of the page.
Something is covering the movie controller for your audio file and it also covers your "back" link.
I also had trouble downloading any of your Practice Scales. They "paused" for a few minutes before the download began.

Matching Video/Audio Clip Lengths

I import a series of video clips (from 35 mm slides) into the video track time line, each 7 seconds in length with transitions. If desired, I may reorder the sequence of these clips. Then I add voice-over for each clip on an audio track. The voice over time for a particular video clip may run 10-15 seconds. To extend the video clip time to match the length of the audio clip, I set an "in" and "out" marker to match the length of the audio clip, drag the video clip from the Browser to "fit to fill" in the canvas thus extending the time of the video clip. Is there a more efficient way of extending the length of the video clip to match the length of the voice-over clip? Many thanks. Jack A2

Are these still images or video clips? You said they came from slides is why I ask. One way is to use the ripple tool to lengthen the clips in the timeline.

Paste attributes prompt box (only 1st linked video & audio clip)

what is up with that box? how can I avoid this? I need to paste attributes to all 4 audio tracks and not just the 1st one!
The box reads:
Paste Attributes will only use the first video and first linked audio clip for parameters and content to be pasted. Do you wish to continue?

You'll get that warning if you copied more than one clip. The message is telling you that it will only paste the attributes of the first clip of the group you selected.
To avoid that warning, you should only copy ONE clip. After you've copied one clip you can then past the attributes of that clip to as many clips as you select.

Video-Audio-Clips in CS3 verknüpfen

Bin blutjunger Anfänger und habe CS3 mit Matrox RT X2. Wenn ich meine Clips im Schnittfenster verknüpft darstelle, also mit Unterstrich, dann folgt beim verschieben des Video-Clips auf Spur 2 nicht der Audio-Clip auf Spur 2 nach. Die in der Dokumentation angeführten Funktionsangaben zeigen bei mir keine Wirkung. Ich kann die Clips nach der Markierung nur einzeln verschieben wie wenn die Verknüpfung aufgehoben ist.
Bei Überlagerungen von Effekten liegen dann 2 Audiospuren übereinander. Beim löschen des überlagerten Clips auf Videospur 2 sind dann beide Audiospuren weg.Vielleicht ist die eine sehr panale Frage für das Forum, aber ich stehen damit auf dem Schlauch. Es ist auch meine erste Einstellung und hoffentlich habe ich alles recht gemacht mit meinen 68 Lebensjahren. Wer kann mir dabei helfen? JETZT SCHON VIELEN dANK

Linked video audio clip goes out of sync when put in timeline - why?

Learning to use Final Cut Express. Clip plays in browser with audio in time with video but as soon as clip is dragged onto timeline the audio goes out of sync. Why? Please can anyone help because its driving me mad!

You don't give any details as to FCE's settings, camera format or your workflow so I can only hazard a guess.
One of the main reasons that audio goes out of sync is because the Easy Setup audio settings do not match the camera's audio settings.
The default setting is for 16bit (48KHz) but your camera may be shooting 12bit (32KHz audio).
If this is the case you need to recapture using the 32KHz Easy Setup.

Is there a way to import video/audio clips from Logitech webcam?

I just purchased a used Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro for Mac. A Logitech driver is apparently not required. I connected it to a USB port on my mini. I couldn't find any way of downloading Photo Booth so I downloaded Funny Photographer (http://homepage.mac.com/spillnerclan/fabian/funnyphotographer/Funny%20Photograph er.html).
With Funny Photographer I am able to capture still photos.
Eventually, I intend using the webcam with Skype. In the meantime I would like to capture audio and video clips. This is not possible in iMovie6 (at least with a USB device). Is there a way to do this? Might Quicktime PRO work? Thanks.

What are the best settings to export video for Blip.tv?

I have CS5.5 and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Thing is, I had Premiere Elements 8 and 10, which both had no issues with making and uploading MPGs, but Pro's settings are... well, I'd call them "messed up". Part of the issue might be that Elements and Pro ands unforgiveably disimilar in too many aspects (I'd argue 8 was functionally better than 10). Why are settings seemingly unavailable, or completely different? I wasted an entire day, rendering the same video in different formats, because Pro didn;t have the same available settings as I could with Elements 10.
Regardless of my complaints. The question is still this: What settings should I use for esporting videos to Blip.tv? The answer never really gets answered over there, but I am asking there too.
Ultimately, I'm sending MP4 videos, and they are absolutely fine on my computer, but are squished over there. So if anyone else has any more experience with Blip.tv, maybe they can answer it. They don;t seem to like Adobe/PC software much to care to give settings.

I have quicktime player 7.7.2. A relative video clips from his phone. Previously they downloaded with both video and audio. As of Sept. 30 only the audio downloads, yet Quicktime still plays older saved video/audio clips. Help?

I have Quicktime Player 7.7.2. A relative has been sending video clips from his phone since June, and until Sept. 30 both the video and audio would download. SInce that date only the audio downloads, yet I can still open and play the older saved videos just fine. I tried looking at QuickTime help info available. One place said something about purchasing Quick Pro for use with 7.7.2, but if I need that, why can I still open older saved videos? Thanks for any help.

I'm adding more information:
in Finder, my iMovie folders are all visible and accessible. When I click on a clip from iMovie Events folder, Quicktime opens and plays the clip. ALL my video is not missing - it just isn't showing up in the Event Library!
This happened all of a sudden, while I was working on iMovie project (on both computers).
All my Projects are intact, and play when I open them.

How to drag video & audio clip up one track simultaneously?

In 6.5, when I dragged a video clip from Video Track 1 to Video Track 2, the audio automatically followed from Audio Track 1 to Audio Track 2. Not so in Pro 3.0 and I assume 4.0. Can this be changed?

Hi, I am a novice with a similar question.
I have imported HD ACVHD files into Premiere Pro CS4.
When I drag & drop the file into Video 1 on my timeline, the audio automatically defaults into the Audio 4 track.
I want those audio files in Audio 1.
I have tried to unlink each clip and then group the audio files and drag them to Audio 1, but Premiere will not let me do it.
A pair of two-part questions about how I can (and should) accomplish the task:
1. Can I drag & drop the audio files from Audio 4 to Audio 1, and if so, how?
2. Why does it default like this, and what can I do to change the preset?
