Settings to lock phone after incorrect password attempts?

Where can I find the settings to lock my phone after a series of incorrect password attempts?

That is related to google if I remember correctly, and to unlock you need to either wait for 30 seconds ->1 minute or recover with your gmail account. However, I haven't noticed this on my Z1,it didn't offer me the option to recover with gmail.

You need to visit Apple Store, and show ownership proof in case of forgotton pass code.

  • Can configure your device to erase itself after ten consecutive incorrect password attempts. This setting is off by default. Can be turned on if you can't unlock the screen due to forgotten passcode?

Can you still configure your device to erase itself after ten consecutive incorrect password attempts if you can't unlock the screen due to forgotten passcode?

    No.

  • HT1212 ipod touch disabled due to too many incorrect password attempts - problem is I know the password

My daughter's ipod touch is locked due to too many incorrect password attempts (thanks to her little brother).  It is displaying the red bar that states ipod is disabled connect to itunes.  Problem is we don't have the computer that the ipod was originally synced with and she doesn't want to reset the ipod.  In this instance we know the password.. so is there anyway to get the ipod to ask us one more time to enter the password?  I'm not sure how many incorrect attempts were made, but it doesn't state anything about try again in so many minutes.. help, please!

No. Start with the last paragraph of:
    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recover use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
    Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.

you have definitely tried the correct steps, all you would need to do now is a back up & restore to factory settings. If after that the issue remains then you would most likely need a replacement unit.

  • Lion server corrupted sudo: 3 incorrect password attempts

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that I was having a problem with sudo on my Lion Server, I went back as far as I could in Time Capsule and restored the entire OS, but the problem seems to have been there since the original install a few months ago. Sudo works fine on my MacBook Pro with Lion 10.7.4 Client.
I have been using sudo for years, and I've never had this happen.'
    $ sudo echo
    Password:
    Sorry, try again.
    Password:
    Sorry, try again.
    Password:
    Sorry, try again.
    sudo: 3 incorrect password attempts
( 0 ) I can log out as system admin, and log in as root with no problems, but sudo at the Terminal always fails
( 1 ) I have turned off access to root, restarted, turned it back on umpteen times
    ( 2 ) downloaded an re-installed Lion Server Combo 10.7.4
( 3 ) ran Norton Anti Virus, found no problems
( 4 ) looked at /etc/sudoers using visudo and it looks normal
( 5 ) I am the sys-admin for the server and $id shows that I am in the admin group
    ( 7 ) Server.app -> Menubar -> Tools -> Directory Utility -> Edit -> Disable Root User
    ( 8 ) Re-Boot
    ( 9 ) Server.app -> Menubar -> Tools -> Directory Utility -> Edit -> Enable Root User
( 10 ) Server.app -> Menubar -> Tools -> Directory Utility -> Select my shortname on the left scrolling area, delete Authentication Authority from right side display of my record, then save, quit, and re-boot.
( 11 ) Enter the requested old and new passwords when booting to restore the Authentication Authority
Any ideas other than the http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1528 notes on how to turn it on/off
Most everything I have done on the lion server has not required me to use sudo, but I use it frequently on osx lion client with no problems.
Something is either corrupted, or somebody forgot to turn it on ?
I hope I can get this fixed, I sure don't want to have to re-install the server software.

Did you mean that support document?
Open Terminal.app (Applications > Utilities) and paste the two lines to the Terminal. Hit ENTER and insert your admin password (it dond't show any output to the Terminal, so just type blind and hit ENTER. AND you also have to had set a password, it won't work with a blank password).
If the first command was successfull it would print "not loaded" and return to a new line, ending on $. Then enter the second command, and hit enter.
If the first command fails, copy and paste the output here to the discussions.

  • User is getting locked due to incorrect password every few minutes SAPJSF

I have gone through solution manager configuration both as myself and as user solman_admin. Recently the Solution manager system was changed to enforce a more complex password scheme. After changing my password, my account is now getting locked every few minutes due to incorrect logon attempts. The System log states that user SAPJSF from Terminal <solution Manager host name> is attempting to login with my userID and is locking it. so far I have made every change I know to make to all the accounts on the JAVA side and to any and all background jobs that are running to remove my userID from these entries. My account still gets locked and I have no idea where to find what task or process is locking the account.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Gmail inbox stays on screen after incorrect password entered.  Can 't be closed.

I set up a gmail acct on my Ipad 2, but then entered an incorrect password.  The error message and the gmail inbox remains on the screen and won't return to the password entry box.  I called Apple support several times.  They suggested re=entering my name and password in settings, but this didn't work.  The tech seemed at a loss as to the next step.  Any ideas?

    Glad that worked for you.
Apple is pretty good about fixing their own software.  If you ever get an answer that doesn't seem to make sense you can always ask for someone higher up the technical support food chain.
After years of dealing with tech support with a variety of companies / services you realize that the reality is, you can't hire "experts" to take every phone call.  If you get a dead end response about something they should know (like how to get out of an error window in their own program), thats a good sign you have someone who is new (which is no crime, we are all new to various things in life) and once they've done their bit, ask for a supervisor.

  • Outbound queue locked due to incorrect password

    Hi Gurus,
I'm having a problem to activate an Integration Model as I'm getting an error stating that the outbound queue is blocked due to incorrect password.
I have set up the RFC destination of the SCM ECC logical systems wit a valid user (I tested it). I've changed between using a Dialog user and a Communications Data user. Between every change I made I've cleaned the queue using transaction CFQ1.
Do you have an I idea of what I might be missing?
    Many thanks,
    Diego

    Diego,
It is unclear to me which system you are experiencing the problem on.  Either way, the reasons are usually the same.  I will address establishing the ECC>SCM link.  Works the same way in the other direction.
Every time I have had the problem you are experiencing, I usually find that the fault lies with me, not the system - I have made assumptions that were not correct.
BD54 ensure that your logical system name is what you think it is.  Unless you are rigorous in your naming conventions, it is easy to become confused between logical names/hostnames/system names for SCM and ECC, ,
NDV2  ensure that the SCM system is properly identified
SM59  Make sure your IP address, or hostname is right. Make sure the system you are logging onto interactively is the one being accessed in SM59.  Make sure you have the right userid.  Password is casesensitive on some versions of R/3 and APO, but not casesensitive on others.   I always use UPPERCASE text only for PWs, at least until everything is totally debugged.
From a technical standpoint, your RFC userid can be interactive or system, I always start with interactive until the intefaces are totally debugged.  You auditors may have an opinion the final settings in the production system in this area..

  • Cannot restore iPad after incorrect password lock

I have incorrectly entered my passcode into my my iPad to the point where it is now telling me "iPad disabled connect to iTunes." But when I attempt to connect the iPad to my computer I am presented with another error message on iTunes which says "iTunes could not connect to "iPad" because the iPad is locked and in lost mode." the iPad is not in Lost Mode as I have checked via my iPhone so I don't know why this error is presented. To add to the problem, if I attempt to Restore the iPad using Recovery Mode I am presented with another error message that the network connection has timed out, hence the iPad has now become completely unusable.

    Hey DTl315,
At that point you will need to put your iPad into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. Take a look at the article below to walk you through this. If you have a back up in iTunes or in iCloud, you can put that back on after the restore done.

  • Root account locked out after 3 login attempts

I've connected to a 280R (Solaris 9) machine through the console (null modem cable). After trying 3 failed login attempts, it reported that the root account has been locked out. When can I do now to re-enable it?
    Vincent

    The usual dance. :-)
    1. Put in a Solaris install CD
    2. "boot -s " at the "ok" prompt.
    3. mount /dev/c<your boot partition> /mnt
    4. edit /mnt/etc/passwd
    5. Reboot the system.
    6. login as root
    7. Set your password.
    8. write it on a post-it.
    9. place post-it on monitor.
    I'm kidding with steps 8 and 9.
