Settings to set default Output Device in FPCJ

Hi,
System is taking LP01 as default Output Device instead of the custom made Output device(ZLOCL) while executing the Z smartforms using transaction FPCJ.
In user setting I have defaulted ZLOCL as default output device & desired page format type is also assigned to the smartforms.
Is there any other system/config setting to be done to make ZLOCL as default.
Please advice.
Thanks in advance
Sunil

Sunil,
Check your user profile using tcode SU3 and make sure you do not have LP01 there as your default OutputDevice. If you have it then your printing jobs will default on that.
I hope this helps you.

David

  • How to set a default output device for FAX outputs

    Hi Experts,
Business requires to set a default output device for fax outputs ( Medium as 2 Fax medium ).
as fas as print output ( medium as 1 print medium ) is considered we can maintain output device in condition record--> communication
I tried maintaining output device in VP01 for my condition type based on sales org but it did not worked.
Can you please suggest ways to achieve default output device for fax outputs.
    Thanks,

Well, obvious solution would be to either update user profiles or change the output from 'process immediately' to 'process by a background job'. Then create a generic user ID with any fax number desired and use that user ID to process the output through the background job.
This is not really an SD question, so if this simple option doesn't work for you, I'd suggest to discuss other custom solution with your ABAP / Basis team.

  • Default output device for smartform

    Hi all
how can we assign a default output device to a smart form so that the every time we execute a smartform it doesnt ask for a output device?
    thanks in advance....

    Hi
First see what your default out put device is.
That you can see in SU3>Default>OutputDevice.
Suppose it is set as 'PRINTER' .
Then in ur print program you have to write the logic as below.
      CALL FUNCTION 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'
        EXPORTING
          FORMNAME           = 'Z_smartform
        IMPORTING
          FM_NAME            = WF_FUNCMODULENAME

        WA_CONTROL_PARAMETERS-LANGU = 'E'.
      WA_CONTROL_PARAMETERS-DEVICE = 'PRINTER'.
        CALL FUNCTION WF_FUNCMODULENAME
          EXPORTING
            CONTROL_PARAMETERS   = WA_CONTROL_PARAMETERS "Control Params
            OUTPUT_OPTIONS       = WA_OUTPUT_OPT  "Output Options

  • How to select default output device (microphone) in ALSA?

    Hello,
My webcam microphone does not work.
It is not set in ALSA, and pulseaudio points back to ALSA. As a consequence, skype doesn't work.
I have read a bunch of wiki and manpages, found no answer. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ALSA#Configuration
Hence, how do I set usb webcam microphone as the default input device in ALSA? It is set by alsamixer, but
    $ arecord -d 5 test-mic.wav
    $ aplay test-mic.wav
    produces nothing except files.
I've installed archlinux only because OpenBSD doesn't support skype. That's what I need from archlinux for.
I appreciate your answers and thank in advance.

To use arecord with your webcam you need to know and specify the device:
arecord -l; # Look for your usb device
arecord -D hw:X,Y # where X is the card number and Y the device number
As for skype, it should have some configuration options.
I know the device. I can see it by various commands. I know for various config options. That's now what I'm asking.
I am asking how to specify it. Where is the config file for ALSA? Is it input or output device?

  • Set default audio device?

Prior to installing OSX Yosemite, the system audio output would be automatically switched to my USB audio device as soon as it was plugged in and detected by the OS.  In Yosemite, I have to manually switch the output from Internal Speakers to the USB device.
Is there a way to force the setting to change on its own, as it did before?

    Hello
I do not want to hard wire the Ipod HIFI. I understand that if I used the line out feature the system would recognize the device. I would like the system to recognize a remote speaker connected by wireless network and to accept this remote speaker as the default audio device. Not likely but should be an option.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I have never heard of the term "S0" and "S1" for drives. Perhaps you mean sda and sdb.
Go into the BIOS, choose your equivalent of "Hard disk priority", move the drive that you want to boot first above the rest of the others, and then exit by saving the settings (usually F10). That should do the trick. Alternatively, you could open up the case and move the SATA cables around, but be careful if you use "sdx" name conventions in /etc/fstab.
    Thanks for the reply
I made up S0 and S1 for simplicity. sda and sdb makes more sense I suppose.
My BIOS does not recognize sdb in the priority menu, I'll try moving the SATA cables.

Eugenia wrote:Well, it's still not good enough.
We can't satisfy everyone. What you want is a corner case. For most people ALSA and dmix works appropriately, and that is what esd uses by default. We cannot document and automate every configuration possible. That's up to the users.
However, if you don't want to restart gnome, try the below... I make a few assumptions, but even if they're wrong, they're hardly difficult to work around.
Just copy the /etc/esd.conf to ~/.esd.conf, make your change, then do killall esd. Presumably gnome will restart esd, and it ought to read your local config. If it doesnt, start it yourself.
Feel free to write a script that automates this, or document it on the wiki.
I have to restart Gnome to get this thing working. Other OSes *automatically* can use an alternative device. But if I change ESD, I will have to restart Gnome, no?
Well, if you try my suggestion above, no. You can restart esd yourself. And that's what all the other distros do, except with some fancy GUI.

  • CUA: SCUG - Transfer Users errors with Output Device does not exist

    Greetings,
I'm currently setting up CUA on our ECC 6.0 boxes and ran into an issue when I run SCUG and try to transfer the users. We're in the process of upgrading to ECC. The target systems are upgraded copies of our current 4.7 target systems.
Currently we have CUA connecting to our DEV,TEST, PreProd, and Prod Systems.
The output devices only reside on the target systems. There are no output devices on our production CUA box.
I'm trying to setup the ECC CUA box and modeling all the settings to our current environment. Once I set the CUA setting, including the RFC's and ALE connections I ran scug and ran into the issue.
I only get the error where the Default Output Device is populated. Users with no Default Output transferred without any issues. I looked up notes in OSS and can't seem to find any on this subject.
Side note: If I remove the output device it transfers without error. Obviously this is not a solutions, I was merely testing out the scenario.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Alex,
there is just a little comment in SAP note #399917 (point 4).
As from my knowledge, the SCUM settings are not considered during SCUG. So setting
'output device' to local will not be a solution.
The standard way is to transport the ouput device information to your CUA-master system before taking over the users. (create transport in  SPAD).
I have also another workaround for you gurus, but this will need to modify the standard coding for the time of taking over your users. Using this modification, only a warning message will appear and unknown printers will not be taken into CUA-master system.
Pls test this proposal carefully (coding is rather old....), this is just a suggestion !

  • Is there no way to direct an AIR app's audio to different audio output devices?

I'm needing to make a couple of our AIR apps select certain audio devices to send their audio output to, and last year, somebody mentioned possibly using native extensions to do this.  I had to start working on other things for a while, but I've come back to this (for the moment), and I've basically learned how to create native extensions.
But so far, they don't seem to provide me any special access to anything going on under the hood of an AIR app.  When you stream live audio in through RTMP or RTMFP, the details of the audio are hidden from you.  There doesn't appear to be any place where you can actually access the audio bytes that are being sent over the wire.  You can specify a certain SoundTransform object for the NetStream to use, but that class is final and a vanilla Flash construct, so even if it may have a way to access the audio bytes, they're not acessible at all.
It really looks like, when a NetStream object starts streaming in live audio, there is no way under the sun to access the audio bytes and direct them to a certain audio output device, with or without extensions.  Is this so?  It would be unfortunate if Adobe didn't allow this, even through native extensions.  Thanks.

    Couple quick thoughts..
Limits are important. There's a large amount of work done to keep a clear separation between a users decision and a developers decision. For instance, you can't change a users default audio output because that clearly violates a users decision. That said, here's a whole mess of people debating the issue and actually eventually an undocumented COM API you can find that will actually let you do it in Vista/Win7 (but not 8), however don't expect that to be a 'good thing to do':
    http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/9ebd7ad6-a460-4a28-9de9-2af63fd4a13e/programatica lly-setting-the-default-playback-device-and-recording-device?forum=windowspro-audiodevelop ment
You might want to get a beverage before reading that.
Aside that, RTMP is secured, which is why you can't gain access to the bytes. The entire purpose of it is to assure media developers that their media can't easily be copied/stolen. Adobe doesn't document their method of securing streams but they do publish the RTMP specification. It's entirely possible for you to create your own RTMP server and encryption method while delivering a RTMP stream to custom client that you code yourself which can read the stream. Here's the spec:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/rtmp.html
So I'd say it would be unfortunate if Adobe did give you access to the bytes. You might as well just hand users a mp3 of whatever song is playing because they would steal media left and right.
That isn't to say you can't use a multitude of ways of getting the data going across the default output device. Plenty of apps (fraps/etc) capture video and mixed audio streams. But Adobe isn't going to give you the keys to the kingdom and let you decrypt their protected media protocol.

  • Output Device Used in Outputs

Dear SAPers, I have the following question / issue.
I don´t know how the system takes the printer from the output device set in the output condition record. Does anyone know why this happens?
When I print something the printer is taken from the default output device from the user master, because the output type has “S User parameters” in the print tab. ¿Should I change this? The other values are: 1,2,3,4,5,7,E, S and U.
I want to take the output device from the condition record (not from the user master record)!!!
    Thanks in advance!
    I will reward if helpful.

    Hi,
It's my first time to do this, just want to share...I go to NACE ...click V3 and condition records....select an output type....select the sales organization...execute...highlight the billing type....click the Communication icon at the upper left hand corner...encode or find the output device of your choice...check the print immediately.
    Hope this will work.

  • Output device not automatically determined in VF02

    Hello gurus,
My default output device is not coming automatically when I add an output type in VF02. This is an issue because output type has requirement 62 set in output procedure, therefore it will not be added until invoice is release to accounting. Futhermore, we have implemented Argentina eletronic invoice, which won't allow to change the invoice once it has been released to accounting. Quite a contradiction. So I'm hoping the output type will be added by condition technique while releasing to accounting, yet i believe since the output device is not being automatically determined in the background, it won't do.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you very much.
    JP

    Hello guys,
I had checked all your suggestions before posting this thread, but still the issue remains:
    - VV31 condition records are fine but I cannot set a single output device since it will be used for many output devices.
    - Analysis was carried in VF02 and the condition is being picked up but since requirement 62 is set in the output procedure, which forces the billing document to be first released to accounting, the condition is being removed:
    - Printer is set in the user profile options, but does not come as default in VF02
    Thank you all.
    Kind regards,
    JP
