Settlement of a project to internal order?

Hi Experts
In a customer project  we have RA and settlement as a period end process but as COPA is not configured, So can we settle it to internal order? or is it advisable to settle to internal order?
thanks..
Edited by: SAP PS on May 25, 2011 7:48 PM

Hi,
It is better to settle to a G/l account. for this we need to set in the alocation structure receiver as G/L and settlement cost element with cost element category 21 or 22 (internal or external settlemet) based on the receiver. with this what happens at any given point of time we can see the detailed reports cost element based as well at G/L level also.
Thank you

  • Settlement rule copied from reference internal order

    Hi
How to manage that no settlemnt rule will be copied from reference order into the new internal order I´m creating in transaction KO01? Is it a configuration issue?
    Please advise.
    Anna

    HI,
the reason for creating an internal order "with reference" is to transfer all infos to the new order (even the settlement rule). So after "creation with reference" the settlement rule is copied. If its not the one you need:
1: take a reference order that fits your requirement.
2: for order creation without reference use a "model" order, this "model" order can be assigned to the order type in T-code KOT2_OPA and works similar as a reference, but if the model order does not contain a settlement rule, the created order also does not).
3: change/delete the created settlement rule from the new order.

  • PM Order Settlement to Cost Center(real) & Internal Order simultaneously

    Dear Experts.
I have a request from client to settle 100% of PM order to Cost Center (real) and internal order (statistical) simultaneously. The purpose of statistical orders is to capture all the expenses (electricity, water, security charges, maintenance, etc...) location-wise.
PM Order settlement through statistical IO will contribute to  the maintenance aspect, and other expenses will be captured to statistical IO through financial GL posting. Hence each location will have a unique statistical order maintained.
In the settlement Profile, I have maintained Order and Cost Center elements as "Settlement Optional" Under "Valid receivers". But the system doesn't allow this settlement. As per my understanding SAP allows settlement (100%) to go only to a single object.
Appreciate your inputs on this matter.
    Thanks,
    thushantha.

    hi,
Please check how you maintained the real object in the settlement rule.
You must maintain both the cost center and internal order on the same assignment line such as:
    CAT:     Settlement receivers
    ORD      ORD_Number   Cst_Center_number         100%   PER
The system will correctly generate KI178 if you have the following:
    CAT:     Settlement receivers
    ORD      ORD_Number                              100%   PER
    CTR      Cst_Center_number                       100%   FUL

  • Why internal order settlement is require

why internal order settlement is require
and in internal orders    acctual cost is plan cost is 100 and acctual is 150
then which amount we have to settle in internal order
    regards
    venkatareddy

    Hey Venky,
An internal order is usually used as an interim collector of costs and an aid to the planning, monitoring, and controlling processes needed. When the job has been completed, you settle the costs to one or more receivers (cost center, fixed asset, profitability segment, and so on).
During settlement, some or all of the plan or actual costs incurred on an object are allocated to one or more receivers. The system automatically generates offsetting entries to credit the sender object. The debit postings assigned once to a sender object remain in place, even after settlement to a receiver (and can therefore be displayed). The costs settled are updated on the corresponding receiver object and displayed in reporting.
To be able to settle an order, you must have saved a settlement rule in each of the senders. This settlement rule determines where the costs are to be settled to. You can achieve this in two ways:
Settlement to One Receiver:You use this basic form of order settlement to completely settle the costs collected on the internal order. This is either to a cost center, or a G/L account under a settlement cost element. The system generates the appropriate settlement rule from the information contained in the internal order master data.
Comprehensive Settlement:Definition of a comprehensive settlement rule gives you more settlement possibilities, for example, you can:Settle costs to a wide range of receivers (project, sales order, profitability segment, and so on).
Specify how the costs are to be distributed between receivers.
Define the cost elements under which the sender is to be credited and the receivers debited.
Constraints:You can only use one of these settlement methods at a time: For example, if you defined settlement to one cost center in the master data for an internal order, then you can only define a more comprehensive settlement rule once you have deleted the first rule.
Hope this helps. Requesting to reward points please.

  • Internal Order Settled to AUC reverse process

    Dear Gurus,
I had a hard time to think how to do the processes over and over again.
    The current process is:
Every month the internal order (investment and real order)  will collect the expense on AUC and settle to the AUC.
At the end of year, the AUC will be settled to Fix Asset by internal order settlement rules.
Now what if the settled expense was not correct. For example, in 2009, I created the IO and settled the IO to AUC in several months. But in 2010, I found the expense in IO shall not be settled to AUC, the expense was only the overheads. ( The AUC was not settled to Fix Assets). Just like I wanna reverse the settlement in 2009.
So it would be like this in a flow chart.
    IO-> AUC->FX
Now I need to do this:
    AUC->IO->GL
For IO->GL, I have figured out that I can change the settlement rule profile and make the GL account allowed.
But for AUC->IO , I have no idea and almost burn my brain on it.
Could you please help to throw light ?
    Emma

    Hi,
I tried 2 write offs, please help to see whether I am doing right. Thank you!
I tried to reverse the document but it was not allowed.
I am thinking to post a document like the following:
    1. Doc in 2009
    50 8910000000 settlement AUC             2,964,800.00-        Order:C1BIC83002
    70 3270600041 000327000032 0000    2,964,800.00
    2. What I want to post:
    40 8910000000 settlement AUC         2,964,800.00      C1BIC83002
    75 3270600041 000327000032 0000    2,964,800.00-
But it gave me an error when I enter the asset number.
Asset is investment measure, transaction type not allowed
    Message no. AK005
    Diagnosis
Asset   that is to be posted is an investment measure. You are not allowed to post transactions that affect acquisition value using the current transaction.
    Procedure
Check the asset and transaction type 160.
I am not sure which transaction type is correct.
    Emma.

  • Internal orders to WBS Element

    Hi,
I,m working in a Project System implementation project, where all other modules are already in use.As per the existing process, Internal orders are created for asset accounting. Those are of statistical. All the purchase orders & costs are booked referring to the internal orders, the same cost is directly settled to Asset Under Construction or Asset. As the internal orders are created as statistical, there is no seperate settlement process & all the costs are directly settled either in AUC or in Asset as & when they are incurred(posted).
Now as we are implementing Project Systems, Internal orders are going to be replaced by WBS Elements. Customer requirement is the same process of online settlement of costs to Assets from WBS Element & he doen't want to settle seperately.
Now the issue is, 1) how the process can be mapped in SAP?
I feel creating the WBS elements as statistical, the same process can be mapped. Is it possible/
    2) As one project is already in progress & some postings have been taken place against internal orders, customer wants to see all those postings on new WBS element, now how to migrate the same to respective WBS element in the new system?
    Thanks
    Kishore

    Hi Kishore Ji,
For your question, simple answer is, you want to continue all AUC under Project Systems.  So far, you have considered statistical internal orders, anyway, which is not possible for you to settle directly.  So, please take that amount generate uploading document by using same account and using WBS element as debit and internal order as credit and status you release for internal orders.
WBS elements you create as statistical without selecting account assignment category.
    Your problem will be solved.
    Assign points without fail.
    ALL THE BEST.

  • Assignment of Production Order to Internal Order

Can a production order be assigned to an internal order so that the manufacturing costs can be seen in the internal order?
My scenario is such that I want to manufacture sheet metal dies. The various costs involved are design costs, procurement costs and manufacturing costs. The design costs and procurement costs will be captured in the internal order. I want to capture the manufacturing cost through the production order.
Now the problem is how can I see the total of all three costs in the internal order?
    Thanks in anticipation.
    Sumeet

    As I know,
You can assign internal order as a settlement receiver. Since production order itself is a cost receiver.
Why connot you use internal order instead of production order. You can do GR/GI to internal order.
One more option is you can use cost centre/internal order as a receiver, maintain a minimum price (1unit=1$)in production material and when you settle all the cost will be settled against the cost centre/internal order.

  • Costs to be recorded to Internal Order instead of Cost Center

    Hi,
My client has created a new Personnel Area and has started hiring people for it. They did not create a cost center for this. Meanwhile, if any costs are to be recorded for the employees in this Personnel Area, the client wants them record to an Internal Order (instead of Cost Center). Later, when they create a cost center, they may transfer the costs from Internal Order to the Cost Center.
What needs to be done to satisfy this scenario.
    Best Regards,
    Veera

    hi
create internal order through kO01, which is of type real order, and post all the expenses by keeping this internal order as cost object. later as you want to settle this internal order to cost centre, you should have settlement profile attached to the internal order to settle that. please update settlement profile while creating the internal order

  • Create internal order with reference - Do not copy distribution rule group

    Hi,
I'm creating an internal order with reference to another order through tcode KO01. When i will display the new internal order, i already have distribuion rule group that was copied from the reference order. To delete the incorrect distribution rule group i execute tcode KO02, however this information do not appear in tcode KO02.
What should be done to delete this settlement rule? I do not want to copy the settlement rules from the old internal order.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ana Fernandes

    Hi.
'What should be done in order to do not copy this information when i create the internal order with reference?'
in tcode kot2_opa do not maintain Settlement profile for Order category 3
Also go to KOM2 and delete Settlement rule for order, from which you copying.
'in table COBRB i can see the information however i can not delete it. The validy period is empty.'-in su53 check authority

  • Internal Order GL Posting

    Hi,
I am creating a GL account and i assigned it to my PO
When i do PO, entry passed is: Internal Order Expense A/c.... Dr
    To GRIR Account.
When i ran settlement, entry passed was: Asset A/c... Dr
    To Internal Order Expense A.c
I want to know where do we assign the GL account to Internal Order i.e. how internal order determines GL Accoiunt (Sender GL Account) at the time settlement

    Hi,
I am creating a GL account and i assigned it to my PO
Ans: You can create a GL account the same can be assigned to your PO (account assignment tab)
When i do PO, entry passed is: Internal Order Expense A/c.... Dr
    To GRIR Account.
Ans: No Accounting document gets generated at the time of PO Creation. But I am surprised to note that it has passed an accounting entry at the time of PO Creation.
When i ran settlement, entry passed was: Asset A/c... Dr
    To Internal Order Expense A.c
*It all depends on how you have configured your settlement profile and allocation structure. Normally, in general, internal order costs get settled to cost centers or other objects maintained in settlement profile. You can settle the costs to primary cost elements or secondary elements based on your configuration.
I want to know where do we assign the GL account to Internal Order i.e. how internal order determines GL Accoiunt (Sender GL Account) at the time settlement
No GL account is assigned to Internal Order. You will define the cost elements (primary or secondary based on your requirement) in allocation structure. Please also see the settlement rule maintained on your internal order master data.

    Ravi
