Settlement rule error

Hi,
I am facing as issue while settling costs to internal order. The system is giving warning message "Enter a percentage, equivalence number, or amount"
Diagnosis
You have entered at least one distribution rule which contains neither a percentage nor an equivalence number nor an amount.
Procedure
For each distribution rule, you must enter either a percentage, an equivalence number or an amount.
Alternatively, and depending on the situation and how you want the system to behave, one of the following is possible or required:
You want to enter the percentage, equivalence number or amount later.
You can ignore this warning.  However, you should check that the appropriate values are entered before settlement.
You want to enter a percentage, an equivalence number, or an amount. However, the relevant field will not accept input, or is not displayed.
Go to the settlement profile you are using and check that one of "Percentage settlement", "Equivalence numbers", or "Amount settlement" has been switched on.  You can find out which settlement profile you are using from the "Parameters" section of the screen in settlement rule maintenance.
(Press F5 to proceed to customizing.)
You receive this message other than in settlement rule maintenance - for example, when saving an order or a WBS element.
Go to settlement rule maintenance and check the individual distribution rules.
This error is coming only from past one week. Any pointers towards the resolution/ or the reasons for the error will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
S.Sumana

Hi,
On further analysis, we found that there was a settlement (in KO03) that took place without specifying percentage or equivalence amount. Is there anything that can be done like reverting the settlement so that this message doesnot appear.

S.Sumana

  • Getting 'Maintain Settlement Rule' Error while GI

    Hello Friends,
While posting GI through MB31, I am getting an error of settlement rule, I was wondering what the error of kind and how to resolve it.... what are the entries need to make ?
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi,
Actually you are doing GR through MB31, go to order change CO02 and in the menu to to Header tab and click Settlement rule from the menu. In that screen whether settlement rule is assigned or not, if it not assigned assign a receiver (category) and percentage and save.
(In this situation, you can choose catrgory CTR and give any cost center number in the order.)
(For information, this settlement is defaulted from OKO7 transaction code, check with your CO consultant about the entries
then try to do the MB31.
    Thanks,

  • Settlemnt Rule Error Chaos!!

    Hi,
I have a Project pertaining to 2003 with a settlement rule error which has resulted in choas. There was a settlement rule error in 2002 and someone has tried to correct the error by adding new settlement rules - there are currently 58 rules to date! Production has run in all of the settlement rules. I now want to correct this rule in order to close the project and need to add a new rule (no 59). However when I try to insert an end date to no 58 I get a message that the start date of no 58 contradicts the close date of no 27. I've tried changing this end date but SAP won't let me use a prior date nor will it let me use a date after the start date of no 58. As I can't change the start date I am in the position where I can't move forward.  All help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!
    Regards
    Juliet

    Hi,
Have experienced how messy and chaotic settlement rules can be. First, wish you all the best and hope you have a lot of patience.
As for my thoughts on this :
How long have you used the Settlement Rule No.58?, mean how many settlements have happened using this rule. If possible, reverse all of these settlements.
For. Ex. if Rule No.58 was used during the period 01/08 till 04/08 with a monthly settlement run. Then reverse all the 4 settlements, in which case the rule 58 can be modified or could even be deleted to recreate.
I know that this is not really a very good option considering that it is quite an old project spanning across fiscal years. But you could still reverse in the current period and resettle it after all the rules are set in order.
If you already have come up with something, please do share it.
    Best of luck,
    Chetan

  • Error: Maintain settlement rule of the sender for a higher level WBS

    Hi,
I dont want to maintain the settlement rule for a higher level WBS. How can i configure this in such a way that i dont get the following error:" Maintain settlement rule of the sender" while doing CJ88. Maintaing a separate Settlement profile for a higher level WBS is an option but we are looking if something else could be done The problem is that there are no actuals booked against, say, level 2 WBS but when i execute CJ88, i get the aforesaid error. How can i ensure that only the lowest level WBS ask for the settlement rule and not the levels above it. I have already removed the Investment profile from the higher level WBS but still getting the same error.
    Regards,
    DPil

But this is just a warning. On pressing enter i get the error :Maintain settlement rule of the sender "

  • Error-M2O-Settlement rule for assembly order for item...could not be genera

    Hi,
When I am creating Sales Order (VA01) for M2O, I am able to do the costing and copy the EK02 condition type. I have verified the the incompletion log, it indicates that document is complete.
But while saving the sales order, the below error message is displaed:
Settlement rule for assembly order for item 000010 could not be generated. Should the order still be saved?
                    Yes/No
    1. If No is choosen the following error message is displayed

    2. If Yes is choosen, it is creating Production Order without settlement rule. Able to perform GI & Gr. If I try to enter settelement rule (Settlement receiver SDI - Sales document item) in production order (CO02), the belwo error message is displayed
"Distribution rule for Sales document item can only be created automatically Message no. KD063"
We are using the requierement class with below details:
    Reqmts class: ZSO- for M2O
    AAC = E, Valuation = A, Settlement profile =SD1, RAKey = 000004, Assembly type = 3.
    Settlement profile contain:
Allocation structure, PA structure, Default object type = SDI. Valid receivers: Optional -Sales Order / Prof. seg.
If I make the Valuation field as blank in Reqmts class, there is no error while creating Sales order. And also Settelemnt rule with sales document item as receiver is successfully creating for the production order. Since the Valuation is blank in requirement class, it is Non valuated Sales order stock. All GIs & GR are non valuated
The business requirement is it should be valuated sales order stock and the production varinaces has to be settled to Sales order. Then Sales order has to be settled to COPA.
Need your valuable inputs to meet this requirement.

    Hi..
    please try this....Goto KSR2_VBP.
THere are two strategies.. 01 and 02.
01 for manual creation of settlement rules
    02 for auto creation..
first check whether 01 and 02 are in your plant.
Sales and distrib....basic functions......auto gen. of settlement rules.......
here you ll find two activities.
    (1)maintaining the settlement strategies and
    (2)activating one among them.

  • Error during automatic settlement rule creation

    Hi Gurus,
For the investment project, I maintained as follows, first level WBSE - Only planning element - no settlement. 2nd level WBSE - settled to AuCs. For level three & below settled to Superior WBSE. I had created the Settlement type with '5'. When I am executing CJB2 to create the Settlement rules automatically, I am getting the following error message for level 3 & below WBSE.
Enter a valid value for the settlement type :
    Message no. KD199
    Diagnosis
The system found a settlement type settlement type in the settlement rule which either does not exist or is unsuitable for the sender.
    Procedure
If possible, enter a suitable settlement rule.  Remember that the rules for preliminary settlement ("PRE") of capital investment measures are different from those for period settlement ("PER") of other settlement senders.  Periodic settlement only makes sense for capital investment measures.  They must not have any "PER" rules.
To enter an investment profile (in the control data for an order or WBS element) or to remove it.  However, first delete the PER or PRE rules (in the settlement rule) and er zu in internal orders, you can first change the investment profile and then adapt the rules before you save.
Error(s) during creation of settlement rule :
    Message no. ORB509
    Diagnosis
Errors occurred during the check on settlement receivers.
    System Response
    Processing stopped.
    Procedure
    Check whether the:
Specific receiver Account assignment e actually exists
Settlement profile Z7 permits account assignment to the specified receiver
can anyone help me where I am making mistake or what is the procedure to be adopted for such scenario.
somebody else also had discussed the same issue in this forum but there is no answer for this.
    thanks in advance

  • Getting error in KO01 when entering the Settlement rule

    Hi All,
In KO01, I am trying to create a internal order and a settlement rule. I enter settlement reciever as another Internal order of anothe co. code. Then, when i change the status to Release I get this error message
Settlement Rec. Obj. co. code is different. Pls use an object in the same co. code as this IO
    Message no. DB000
This message clearly says to change the reciever to the same co. code. But, i was able to give a different internal order of anothe co. code and settle to it in SAP 4.6C
Now, in ECC 6.0, it isnt allowing but at the same time, when the settlement reciever is a cost centre of a different co. code, it doesnt error.
Can you please let me know ur thoughts on this.
    Thanks

  • Error message - data master internal order settlement rule

    Hi people,
I'm creating an internal order, and in the settlement rule, i'd like to put a message error when i make a distribuition over 100%. For example, i put 50% in a settlement receiver and 65% in another one, that makes 115%. The system shows a message, but it allows me to save. I need that shows an error message and don't allow me to save.
    Anyone can help me?
The message that appears is this one:
    Total = 115.00%, ( Set.Type PER / Version / Actual settlement ), period 002/2009
    Message no. KD042
    Diagnosis
You have entered distribution rules which settle 115.00% in total. This applies for settlement view ( Set.Type PER / Version / Actual settlement ) in period 002/2009.
When checking the percentage total, the system found one of the following errors:
The total percentage for the distribution rules is more than 100%
The total percentage for the distribution rules is less than 100% and this is a rule for full settlement.
The total percentage for the distribution rules is less than 100% and the 100% check is switched on in the settlement profile.
    Procedure
You can ignore this message if you are settling by fixed amounts. The settlement then checks whether the settlement sender has been fully credited.
Otherwise, correct the percentages for view ( Set.Type PER / Version / Actual settlement ) to be able to settle exactly 100% in period 002/2009.
If these rules are not full settlement rules (settlement type GES), you can switch off the 100% check in the settlement profile. This procedure also suppresses the message in future.
    Note
If you cannot find any fields where you can enter percentage values, this is probably because the settlement profile is configured to hide them. Switch on percentage settlement in the settlement profile, or use equivalence numbers for your rules, if the project profile allows this.
    Many thanks.

    Hi
Below is the extract for the 100% Validation check. Please check the bold part. Even if you save the settlement rule with more than 100% at the time of settlement this will be errored.
    dentifier for "100% validation"
Indicator controlling whether percentages in the settlement rules are checked by the system.
If you have defined percentage distribution rules for a particular settlement rule, the system checks the total percentage either when you save the settlement rule or if you use the percentage check function.
    Use
If the indicator is set  The system issues a  warning
if the total is <> 100%.
If the indicator is not set The system issues a warning
if the total is > 100%.
In both cases, you can ignore the warning and save the settlement rule. However, to be able to run the settlement, you must first correct the settlement rule.  The settlement run itself prevents you from settling more than 100%.
    Note
The indicator only affects periodic settlement.  In overall settlement, the percentage must always be 100%.
You can also use this indicator if you are not using percentages for settlement.  If this is the case, you must activate the equivalence numbers.  You then receive a warning that, even if you have entered settlement rules, none of the rules has received an equivalence number (other than zero).
