Setup a CCM 5.1 Unix Loopback

Can a loopback address be set on CCM 5.1? I am trying to setup a server cluster using SLB with two 6500 core switches to allow a third party redundant connection.

Hi..
You cant set a loopback as such..
But you can multihome the server to 2 x different switches
You will need to enable NFT from the command line on the CallManager.
It will use an active / standby config. I.e. if one link fails and the server detects it, it will attempt to activate the other link.
Cheers,
Tim.

  • ACE - Setup AAA TACACS+ using CS Unix ACS

    Hi,
    I have setup AAA tacacs+ on ACE Admin context with RSA token. This is similar to AAA IOS setup.
    I can login but it does not allow me to do any commands.
    "show users", under Domain says I am logged in as "
    Network-Monitor default-domain".
    Any ideas how to get around and making myself as Admin group?
    Also is there any doco on setting AAA on ACE module using Cisco Secure For Unix ACS?
    Thanks
    Sanjay

    Hi,
    It did work as you suggested. I had to move user in [Root] as we have other Shell attributes in different groups.
    ct 16 15:18:29 c1 CiscoSecure: [ID 428912 local0.debug] DEBUG -
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 user = test2 {
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 service = shell {
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 set optional shell:Admin = "Admin Admin default-domain"
    Oct 16 13:18:29 c1 }
    Oct 16 13:18:29 c1 service = exec {
    Oct 16 13:18:29 c1 set optional shell:Admin = "Admin Admin default-domain"
    ACE-Admin/Admin# sh users
    User Context Line Login Time (Location) Role Domain(s)
    admin Admin pts/0 Oct 17 13:43 (127.0.0.71) Admin default-domain
    *test2 Admin pts/1 Oct 17 14:07 (a.b.c.d) Admin default-domain
    When I moved user in the support group with existing shell access configured, it dumps in network monitor mode. Maybe due to TACACS attribute inheritance. I did not want to stuff up existing support users.
    So I guess my option is to use RADIUS as login method.
    I am trying to get it going but the CS ACS Unix does not like :
    cisco-avpair = "shell:Admin=Admin default-domain;
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 radius = ACE_Admin_Pri {
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 check_items = {
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 200 = 1
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 }
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 reply_attributes = {
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 26 = "cisco-avpair=shell:Admin=Admin default-domain; "
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 6 = 6
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 }
    Oct 16 15:18:29 c1 }
    Now I get :
    [ID 901471 local0.warning] WARNING - RADIUS: Invalid attribute (1) in profile
    Oct 17 15:49:41 c1 CiscoSecure: [ID 347837 local0.warning] WARNING - RADIUS: Authenticate: from (10.17.1.4) -
    test2 failed
    It would be good to see if anyone else has tried this.

    Hi All,
    I am in the process of setting up CCMS alerts in the Central system(Sol Man) on a Microsoft Clustered environment. The Satellite systems that I want to add to the Central system are Microsoft Clustered. Can anyone help me with the steps or documents that you have to setup the above request.

    there is no difference in setting up the CCMS in Solman, whether the landscape environment is Clustered or not..
    you can use the link to get .sim tutorials to setup the CCMS in Solman and refer the SDN link to setup the monitoring, both will help you

    select the solman version, go to Technology Consultants and download the .sim files as per your requirements

  • Error message of MAC flapping for CCM-UC installed in UCS server

    Dear All,

    Hello,
    I believe you'll get better answer at:
    "https://supportforums.cisco.com/search.jspa?peopleEnabled=true&userID=&containerType=14&container=2003&spotlight=true&q=UCS"
    my best guess is to check the LAN config on the UCS. It seems its trying to load balance the traffic in Active-Active rather than Active-Standby.

  • /ccm/minimum_quantity

    Hai All,
    when I try to upload /ccm/minimum_quantity characteristic via CSV file to supplier catalog, the system gives error message. However when I entered it manually in procurement catalog, it is fine.
    How to upload this characteristic via CSV file to supplier catalog?
    Curently we using
    - SRM 5.0
    - CCM 2.0
    - CSV 2.0
    Regards,
    Feri.

    Hi Feri
    Can you please post your CSV file content? Just the beginning of it till the 1st content line (e.g. till where your MAT0000001 item is specified) should be sufficient... not to blow up the forum.
    Do you upload a schema file first followed by a content file or do you upload your schema and content using one single file?
    Does the error happen only for this item or for all?
    Were you ever able to upload catalog content before or is it the first time you try it?
    /CCM/MINIMUM_QUANTITY is a standard chara. It is also valid for supplier catalogs and automatically available. It has not to be specified separately in your schema file. As all other standard chara you can just use it in your content valuation line of your CVS file.
    Did you already run report /CCM/INITIALIZE_CME in your CCM system / client? This is required once at the end of customizing / setup of CCM but before beginning with uploads or content creation.
    Sorry for asking you so much questions but I need a bit more information around your issue to help you.
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

  • Ccms alert for RFC service

    I have a simple task that i was told to monitor.
    There is RFC to a remote non-sap system that is setup in SM59.  This non-sap system some times stops responding.  I would like to setup a CCMS alert specific to this RFC.  I have tried creating all kinds of alerts and methods but have not been successful.
    Does anyone have a simple steps on how I go about creating a simple alert specifically monitoring a particular RFC connection?
    I have looked at sdn ccms page and help on ccms from sap help, but they have not 'helped'.

    HI
    For any application server with a single instance,whenever it would stop working, would mean that the message server has gone down.In such a case, how is a system suppose to respond?
    Do correct me if I am wrong here.

  • Setup alert on SM58

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement to send out alerts on tRFC monitor when SM58 (report RSARFCRD) queue reaches over 20. We run 4.5B and I do not find an easy setup on CCMS. Is there any easy approach to this?
    All useful answers will be rewarded.
    Cheers,
    Nisch

    After reading some additional posts, it appear that it might be because I am performing the filter on a calculated column. I will test this now.
    I changed the filtered column to one that was not a calculated or system column and it now works.

  • Monitoring lock timing through CCMS

    I want to setup a ccms monitor that has to notify when locks under SM12 are older than 24 hours. Can anybody have the information through which monitoring method I can configure this (solution manager 4.0 or WAS6.40)?
    Thanks
    Sateesh

    Hallo Sateesh,
    such a monitor does not exist within the SAP delivered monitor templates. You would need to create (which means you have to write a function module or report) your own data collector to get this data. The document <a href="http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700001752571999E/SUPPLIER_46A_EN_Neu.pdf">How to Write a Data Supplier for the Alert Monitor</a> describes how to do this.

  • Is  Unix Cluster is Pre-requisite for RAC

    Hi ,
    Can anyone please clarify whether for the setup of RAC , does the Unix need to be in clusters?. Is it the pre-requisite for rac installing.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Hussain

    Hi Hussain,
    No, you don't need another OS cluster, only RAC, but you can use another clusterware with RAC (eg. SUN Cluster and others).
    I recommend to you read http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/rac.102/b28759/toc.htm

    Hi,
    We are using "uuencode" command to send the mail with attachment to particular user but we are getting the mail without attachment, it's printing ASCII characters in mail body.
    The command is:
    uuencode $XXAR_TOP/out/${v_request_id}.csv.gz ${v_request_id}.csv.gz) |

    My requirement is to send the PDF file as an attachment.
    Any setups or configuration required in UNIX box to get an attachment.
    Advance Thanks

    I need to send the PDF or zip file as an attachment through mail,
    I tried with uuencode, it's not giving any error message but the mail recipient has only a mail with unreadable text because the pdf/zip file is directly in the mail (not as attachment).
    How to send the file as an attachment from unix?

  • Using Oralce with Unix (AIX)

    My firm have now started to give me exposure to administering the 9i database using Unix (AIX).
    I have no prior understanding and I know this will take time.
    I need to get up to speed.. I have 9i installed on my machine at home - can I somehow download AIX at home and simply practice there?
    Yes, its a newb question!
    Thanks.
    DA

    Dan,
    As someone said before in an earlier posting, if you are just trying to get to know Oracle then you can pretty much do everything using any version of Oracle it could be Windows or Unix or Linux. The differences come into play for the setup and other similar things you have to do from a OS command line. However, if you are looking to use sqlplus to access the database and just concentrating on commands in sql then you don't need to worry about Unix vs Windows vs Linux so much.
    You can connect to any database that you have network connectivity to and that has the correct PORTs open. However, this will take some setup to accomplish.
    I would advise working through the 2-Day DBA guide that you can find here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14196.pdf
    I would also look at the Oracle By Examples found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/10gr2_2day_dba/index.html
    which compliments the other guide.
    The reason that sqlplus can not be found is that it is not in your PATH. The easiest way I have found to setup an environment on a Unix system, is basically find someone's who's environment works (usually oracle) and then go through their .profile and .kshrc files and see what they are calling. Usually they reset their PATH variable at some point to include the Oracle bin directory.
    Someone in your organization should have the knowledge to setup the system to access sqlplus and other things you need. Again, if I had to do it myself I take a few hours to understand how an account like (oracle) is setup and try to set mine up similarly if not exactly the same.
    Regards
    Tim
    Good Luck, I know it is tough when you are just begining.

  • Print to windows attached printer

    Hi!
    I am facing a "small" problem here in my home lan. I have to computers connected. One is running Windows XP and has attached an Epson Stylous C60 printer. The other is running redhat 9 (2.4.8-20smp)
    I have managed to make thw two boxes "talk" via samba.
    $ rpm -q samba
    samba-2.2.7a-7.9.0
    I can read/write from one box to another without problem. The windows can see the linux through the lan and the linux can see the windous after mounting the share. But the thing I cannot do is print from linux to the windows attached printer.
    First of all I checked if the printer is supported redhat and I found out that it is.
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_p...pson-Stylus_C60
    So this eliminates the obvious question: Can you print with this printer from linux in the first place?
    I've read many things about how to print to windows, like
    http://www.idevelopment.info/data/U...tLinuxSMB.shtml
    http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/...mb-printer.html
    as well as many stuff from google search But there is no way I can solve my problem. I follow the instructions but still I can't print
    I also tried cups
    $ rpm -q cups
    cups-1.1.17-13
    But there too I faced the same proble.
    Can someone help me out here because I need that printer. I attach my smb.conf file. Any other information I will be standing by to submit.

    This easy to follow procedure (5 web pages with screen shots) worked for MacBook Pro 10.6.8 via Wireless-N to Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64 using USB Cable to HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One.  This configuration had worked with Windows XP.

  • Overwrite CRM_Order Desc. with Para. from FBDSWP_ALERTS_SLF_MSG_SUBMIT

    Hello Colleagues,
    i have setup the ccms monitroing with an autoreaction Method in Solution Manger.
    Method: Serv_Desk_Mess_on_Alert with FB DSWP_ALERTS_SLF_MSG_SUBMIT
    as Paramter i have used Component, Destination, Keyuser
    everythings works fine for creating CRM_Order in solution Manager also the Field "Reported by" is filled wit the value from Parameter Keyuser.
    But i would like to have a selfdefined Description in the Short Description of the Ticket. So i tried to use Paramter Subject as proposed in OSS 970385 with e.g. $SID and $Object but description is in any case filled with Yellow: or RED: and the name of the ccms Node.  e.g. YELLOW: Status.
    only in the overview Tab i can see the full description with Jobname and the origin of the Ticket.
    Has anyone successfully changed the Value of the Short description in the Ticket created by FB DSWP_ALERTS_SLF_MSG_SUBMIT ?
    Thanks for any hints.
    Thomas
