Setup a soundfile to play back

I have a group of soundfiles that I want to have playback as a view download - I have an account with Netstores & I want to setup the files - that anyone would like to hear - as a preview download before they decide to purchase that file. Can anyone help?
Thanx,
Gregg

codec? i kinda new to all this sorry
If you tried to export as a "QuickTime Movie," then you are using the DV codec. However, make sure you have ticked the "Self-Contained/Standalone" setting or else the file will reference the edited files contained in the FCP project to include any "rendered" material that may have been generated. (Believe the original default setting is "Reference Movie." If so, then you need to manually change it.) In any case, if you are actually attempting to export "Using" QuickTime, then you must select a specific codec or go with whatever codec is currently the default. Previous responder asked about the codec and whether or not the PC laptop had QT installed in order to eliminate one possible reason for file not opening on PC -- i.e., compression format incompatibility.

theres like a 5 second delay from when i say something to when the sound of my voice actually comes in when i play back movies in photobooth.i tried restarting my computer and even turning on *auto flip new items. when i turn that on the problem is fixed for only one video. when i try to record the next one its back to the delay. is there anyway to trouble shoot this? or do i have to take my mac to the apple store. to top it all off ive only had my computer for 5 days. help please !!!!

I had the same problem since my moutain lion update, too.
I fixed it in the following way.
-Search for utilities on the HELP option on the top taskbar
    - Go to utilities and open your audio-midi-setup.
    - check your input and output properties
    - Change input and output 44100khz and 16-BIT for both.(these are the most common properties)
my sound and video are not ouf sync in photo booth anymore.

  • Any way to export anamorphic SD QT that will play back 16:9?

I haven't posted for a while because FCS2 has been working great. However one thing has been nagging me for quite a while and I wonder if it's a gap in my FCP education. When I work in SD 16:9 projects (either DV NTSC or DV50 Easy Setup), I often export to QuickTime Movie as "self-contained" .mov's before dealing with clients about output formats. However, because these are now 16:9 anamorphic clips, I can never get QuickTime Player to play them back at the Desktop level in the right aspect ratio.
Is there any way to flag the QT so that the QT Player can play it back properly?
For instance, if the next step is making a DVD, the same QT Movie can be imported into DVD Studio Pro, and all I have to do is to identify the track as "16:9 letterbox" and it'll play back in DVDSP in correct aspect ratio. Am I correct in thinking that the QuickTime Player still doesn't allow me to do something this simple after all these years?

That is strange ... I just ran the test again. Heres the steps I tested.
First, I created a DV PAL anamorphic sequence in FCP 5.1.4 (QT 7.4.1)
Then I added a 10 second color matte to the sequence (Video Generators>Matte>Color)
Finally I exported the timeline in using 3 different methods:
    1) Export >Quicktime Movie w/Current Settings, Self Contained
    2) Export >Quicktime Movie w/Current Settings, Recompress All Frames, Self Contained
    3) Export >Quicktime Conversion >>Quicktime Movie >>>DV PAL, and specifying specifically that the aspect ratio was 16:9
    Results:
    1) Movie played 4:3 in QT Player ... enabled "Conform aperture to: Clean" and it played 16:9
    2) Movie played 4:3 in QT Player ... enabled "Conform aperture to: Clean" and it played 16:9
    3) Movie played 16:9 in QT Player ... "Conform aperture to: Clean" was enabled already
So I've just tried to see if I can force it NOT to work...
    4) Export >Quicktime Conversion >>Quicktime Movie >>>DV PAL, and specifying specifically that the aspect ratio was 4:3
    Result:
    4) Movie played 4:3 in QT Player ... "Conform aperture to: Clean" was enabled already.
So the only way I can seem to make this not work is if I go out of my way to tell QT that its NOT anamorphic and that it really is 4:3 ... then QT Player takes me at my word.
Odd that you're not seeing this. I wonder if its version specific?

  • PPro CS4 won't play back

Suddenly video in Premiere Pro CS 4.0.0 for Mac won't play back from source window, program window, or timeline, except for an occasional playback of < 1 second. Scarily this was described by a bunch of users in a thread started two years ago. Only one solution was offered there, which didn't apply to my Mac.
I was involved in another thread on a related subject in this forum once before but that setup seemed connected to the use of a Dazzle Bridge for capturing. There's no such complication now...it's just not playing any video more than a few frames.
An editor who can't playback any video is in trouble, and after paying as much as I did for this program and a Mac Pro, it is disheartening. Any ideas out there?

I appreciate everyone's help but I'm afraid the situation has gone from bad to worse, since Premiere suddenly disappeared.
Yesterday, following one bit of forum advice, I tried using a separate user account labeled Premiere Pro and the program did play the files--though it wouldn't let me save the project file where it resided. Now, however, the program is nowhere to be found. I have the original installation disk but I have heard of problems arising from reinstallations.
To answer some other questions, I did try to download the latest update for PPro CS4. I am using PPro for Mac on a Mac Pro with a 10.5.8 OS. I can't say for certain exactly which version I "have" of PPro CS 4 since the update because the program has disappeared and is not turning up in the Finder anywhere, nor can I recall the exact wording of the error message saying I couldn't save my project as edited under the alternate user. The program and system worked fairly problem free for almost four years before the last few days. I use a variety of source footage, including .avi, .mov, .flv, .mp3, .wav.
One Snow Leopard user has recommended using a Root User account which doesn't seem to apply here. For example, he referred to a "Network Account  User" option that was supposed to appear in Accounts/Login Options but doesn't on my Leopard. Also, as per another user at Trafford College, I revised permissions to select Everyone...however since the program isn't appearing on my computer, there's no telling if that worked.
Community help is greatly appreciated--especially in light of one forum report of someone who was on the phone with Adobe for hours with this kind of problem but without getting it solved.

  • WAV files play back too fast

When I choose File->Open to open an AIFF, MP3 or other file in Audition CS6, it simply plays back at normal speed. However, when I open a WAV file, it plays back at double speed (voices become high-pitched). NOTE: The sample rate (44.1) and bit size settings match exactly. This is not a sample rate issue. The frame rate is NOT set to custom.
This happens only to WAV files. The platform Mac OS X 10.8.3. Any ideas?

For some reason the songs seem to play back faster than they should. Any ideas?
How much faster? Have you timed the playback speed with a stop watch and compared the actual duration with the duration (Time) in the browser?
If youtube plays back slower, it might be caused by the network.
I have only seen this on iTunes for Windows so far - you are not by any chance on Windows right now, are you?
Are you running the latest version of iTunes?
And do you have any non-standard Audio devices installed - look at System Preferences > Audio > Output ?
Did you install any Audio Drivers?
Also look at the Audio Devices in Audio MIDI setup (Applications > Utilities):
Check the Format for you output device if it is set to 441000 Hz (compare the setting to the sample rate you see on your songs in the iTunes Library).
If this setting is wrong, iTunes may try to playback at the wrong speed.

  • Captured video plays back fast (sped up) in Final Cut Express 4

I had a Panasonic mini-dv digital camera that was stolen and it worked great with FCE. I purchased a JVC GR-D870 (mini-dv) as a replacement and now in FCE when I capture video it plays back fast in the Viewer and if I open the .mov file in Quicktime. Note that the video plays back at the correct speed when played from the camera, and when the video is being captured. I've tried changing my Easy Setup, but nothing has helped much. I'm currently using the DV-NTSC FireWire Basic setting, though it doesn't matter which one I chose. I did try using the 25.00 fps DV-PAL setting and interestingly it will capture for about 2 seconds and then crash, but the 2 second clip I'm left with seems to playback at the normal speed. This is an NTSC camera so not sure how to get the video that I capture to play at the correct speed (frame rate?). Any help would be most appreciated.

    Never heard this one before!
I have no idea why it is playing back fast, but if you have an NTSC camera you must use an NTSC Easy Setup.
When FCE behaves strangely the first thing to try is to delete the preferences as described here:-

  • Mp4 files are playing back green

All of the mp4 files on my computer are suddenly playing back mostly green and pink video. I can hear the audio but the thumbnail and the video are green. If I hover over the thumbnail and press play they begin to play fine. I can then press the space bar while the thumbnail is playing and the file will open up and play normally using quick view. I am running 10.9.5 and also have the most rent version of VLC installed.

    >I reset the TV but even it didn't work. It still didn't play the mp4 files
    Did you do this correctly?
I mean you have to rest to default settings. In such case every option which has been changed, would be set to the default.
To do that you have to go to:
    System Setup -> Reset TV
When the set powers back on, the Quick Setup screen will appear. Press OK to advance the setup and perform an auto tune.
Furthermore the user manual provides a list of Media Player Supported formats (page 93)
There is a list of supported formats for movie files and music:
    _Music_ mp4 files are supported.
The files extension should be .m4a
The audio codec should be MPEG-2/4 LC-AAC
The max number of files in the folder: 1000
    The _movie_ mp4 files:
The supported file extension: .mp4 or .m4v
    The supported video codec: H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC), MPEG-4 part12,14
    Supported audio codec: MPEG-1/2 Layer3, MPEG-2/4 LC-AAC and MPEG-4 HE-AAC

  • Can't stop audio from playing back on my MacBook Pro

First, Im new to Mac, Ive only been using it for a month, but loving it so far. =) I'm trying to record vocals in Logic Pro 9. My set up right now is MXL 990 plugged into a Phonic Firefly 302 USB interface and that is plugged into my MacPro. Now my problem isnt really with recording, I can record vocals fine. My probem is I want to hear my vocals with all the effects and plugins on when I record. But my mac wont stop playing back my dry vocals through my computer. I dont want to monitor vocals through my mac, only through logic. So i tried to go into Audio MIDI Setup and mute the playback but when I do that I cant record them in logic anymore. Its really annoying everytime I try to record hearing a version of my vocals with effects and hearing another version dry all at the same time, and they arent even in the exact same time, so you get a little slap back echo super annoying. My Audio MIDI Setup is set to "Built in Output - use this device for sound output. Phonic Firefly USB - Use this devise for sound input. I have tried setting that to the output also but it didnt do anything, still had the echo.

    Thank you for your replay
It was working on my Mac before installing the new update of Mac software. then its corrupted
from where I can ask for refund? as I bought from App Store ?

  • Dragging and playing back multiple MC motion

Ive been on this case for a while now, and really havent gone
    anywhere with it.
Just curious to see if anyone has any samples or examples of
multiple MC's being dragged around, their motion recorded and then
    played back.
I dont seem to be having trouble with moving one mc around
and playing it back. i store the coords of the mc (onenterframe)
into an array, and on playback just traverse back the array.
Im having difficulty when there are more than one mc's,
trying to figure out which mc's moved in which order, and what not.
I dont want to store all the mc's coords in one array, but
have their own array. The reason for this is, that the second part
of my problem is figuring out a way of assigning multiple mc's to
    move simultaneously.
i guess the easiest way to think of this would be like
drawing a foot ball play on the computer and replaying it back.
    Anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks

This is really kind of a complex project and it seems that
there is a lot to the design of it. There are probably at least a
dozen good ways to do this. But the main guidance I would give you
is, "If you need to keep track of something – then do so!" In
otherwords, if each clip having one array isn't letting you keep
track of which order things were moved in, then start a new array
that just keeps track of that.
So there are two modes – playback and record. The needs
of playback will dictate what is recorded in record mode. So let's
    think about playback mode first.
Playback also has two modes – simultaneous and
sequential. Sometimes the clips will need to play in the order they
were originally moved and sometimes two or more will need to do
their thing at the same time. Is this right so far?
If that is the case then I would probably us a lot of arrays.
We need to track any give move of an item as well as the over all
    order of their movements.
So each time a clip is moved I would create an array, they
could be numbered sequentially or with a time stamp of some sort so
that if clip5 was moved and then a bit later it was moved again it
would have two arrays recording the two different paths. I would
probably call these pathArrays and store them within the clip
themselves. So clip5.pathArray1, clip5.pathArray2, and so on.
At the same time, I would have another array that records the
order or movement. So the first time clip5 moved it would also
record that clip5 moved first. Does that make sense? I would
probably call this the moveOrder array and there would be one for
the whole setup. It would probably contain info like this:
    moveOrder[0]={name:clip5,seq:0,startTime:1387}
That would read that the first thing moved was clip five, it
is the first time (remember arrays are zero based) that particular
clip has been moved, and it was first dragged 1387 milliseconds
after the player started. You might also add other bits of info
that you need to record. The next time clip 5 is moved its seq
number will be 1, then 2, and so on.
Playback would then step through the moveOrder array,
reference it to figure which pathArray to replay, when the playback
got to the end of the pathArray it would check the next element in
the moveOrder array to see what to play.
If you know that just want to see all the paths of a given
clip you would just iterate through all of the pathArrays or if you
wanted all the odd number clips to move at the same time you would
just iterate through all their pathArrays.
Anyways, what do you think? Would that meet your
    needs?

  • Audio doesn't play back through DAE audio tracks

I work on Digidesign HD hardware and Logic as a front end and a problem has crept in over the last week or so.
I will be working on a song and suddenly with no warning Logic freezes for about 30sec or so. After this all audio files playing back on DAE tracks will not playback or white noise plays back from those track. The DTDM tracks and instruments tracks work fine. This happens wether i have a couple of tracks on the go or loads. It's like the DAE audio playback side crashes but all other things still play back through the DAE so it half works.
PLEASE PLEASE help as i have to reboot Logic everytime and 10-20 mins later it happens all over again.
    Thanx
    G5 dual 2Gh   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Just some quick thoughts....I'm not a "techie", but have had my share of softwaretrouble!!
It could be that Logic is set to global 16bit - and you try to play back 24bit files. Had kind of same problem a year ago, but don't remember if it was Logic OR ProTools that gave this result (played for a while...then a burst of white noise). But the crash...no. This is probably caused by other components. It's usually a good thing to trash the Logic preference file and restart. Then check preferences>audio>drivers>DAE that the global bitrate is set as desired (according to your already recorded files). The DAE preferences don't contain that much information, but could be helpful to trash too. Just remember to set the playback buffersize to a reasonable amount for your setup.
    Hope this will help.

  • Timecode Break Issues when Importing, but plays back in camera fine?

    Hello,
I am having several timecode break issues. The tapes play fine on the camera in "playback" mode but once I try to import through firewire into final cut express it gives me multiple clips. I have tried using Imovie and QuickTime Pro for importing the footage. Imovie gives me delays in the footage and so does QuickTime Pro.
Why am I getting timecode breaks when importing through final cut express, but then it plays back fine in the camera? I am using a Macbook pro with Maverick and a Sony HVR Z5U camera.
Any helps would be great. The footage is in DV.
    Thanks

Why am I getting timecode breaks when importing through final cut express, but then it plays back fine in the camera?
Because the camera basically ignores the timecode when you just play back a tape in the camera.  While it may display the TC on the LCD screen as the video plays, the camera really doesn't care about TC during plain old playback.  However, with 3 different apps all encountering problems capturing the video, it would appear there are actual TC breaks.
    Questions
Is this a problem with one or a few specific tapes, or all tapes you try to capture from?
Also, the HVRZ5U is an HDV-DVCAM-DV camcorder ... are you downconverting HDV material to DV?
Do you have *ANY* other FW devices connected to you Mac when you try to capture video from the camera?
In FCE, you might try using the DV NTSC DV Converter easy setup, which ignores timecode, instead of the default DV NTSC easy setup.

  • Setup Airport Express to play music and extend range

I recently bought an Airport Express with AirTunes and I want to configure it to extend my wireless network range and stream iTunes content to my stereo. As it stands I currently am able to stream from my laptop (MacBook) and Dell desktop PC, but it often loses the connection from the MacBook after 30 - 40 minutes. When I initially got it I tried setting it up to extend my home network but because I don't broadcast my SSID my home network wasn't listed in the available networks list. I chose to back out of that and set it up to play music only. Is it possible to set it up with without broadcasting the SSID and extend the range?

Thanks for the reply. I had trouble configuring the Airport Express to extend the network and supply my stereo with iTunes music. I think I have sorted this problem out now. For some when I used the Airport Utility to setup the AEX it needed to know the network I wanted to join. It didn't allow me to manually enter my network name but instead provided me with names of SSID in close proximity that it could sense. Since I broadcast my SSID it didn't show it, and wouldn't allow me to manually enter in the name. When I selected to just setup the AEX to play iTunes music, I was allowed to enter in the network name. Go figure.

  • H264/ACC Stream plays back too fast on some computers

    Hi all,
we got some feedback from some of our customers (about 1%) that the QuickTime streams we provide (H.264/ACC) play back too fast, about double the original rate and sound is dropping out.
I have not seen this problem myself and there is no particular movie, which does not work. It seems to be the client setup (QT settings, video card whatever).
    Does anybody know what happens?
    Thanks
    NikWest

    Hi T-MACK,
This may not be much help but I had the same problem. Inspection showed that I'd inadvertantly set the camera on long play when shooting the footage. It seemed fine when importing into imovie but playback appeared to be double speed. I posted a question on this forum but couldn't get a satisfactory solution. Re-setting the camera and reimporting didn't help. However, I borrowed a friends camcorder and reimported the same video from that. It worked. I can't see why but it did.
Perhaps sommeone will come up with a better answer.
    Regards

  • I want to open a file and play back by clicking play icon, but Audition doesn't react.

I've recently moved my computer with Windows 7 to Spain. Everything works fine, but not my Adobe Audition CS5.5. I want to open a file and click my play button, to play back the file, but Adobe doesn't react. Anybody know what could be wrong?

I would try checking your hardware setup to ensure that your playback device is selected and setup properly
From the main menu select Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware
