Hi David,
In addition to aboce reference i would like to inform that you need to install Diagnostic Agent on all servers whereever interface for web and application servers are installed. The installation files are available in service market place. Please refer to the installation file for detailed procedure.
Hope this helps.

  • Wily Introscope Version for Solution Manager 7 SPS 17

    Hi
We have a solution manager 4 (now 7) running on an ABAP stack only, this was recently upgraded from Solution Manager 3.2 which was installed 3 years ago as ABAP stack only, this server was never powerful enough to have the Java stack added and the project did not require it.
I am now looking to migrate this ABAP Solution Manager 7 to a new server, using ABAP & JAVA so I can make use of Solution Managaer tools like Diagnostics, RCA, WILY etc.
On a sandpit copy I have migrated the ABAP instance to a more powerful server and added the Java Instance from the Solution Manager 4 Installation Master, so I now have a dual stack SM 4, I have patched this to SP17.
I am looking to install Wily Introscope for monitoring, I have read Note 797147 - Wily Introscope Installation for SAP Customers, where it says you should always use the latest version of Wily, which is 8.0.2, but looking at the note, the downloads for Introscope Enterprise Manager and Introscope Workstation are from SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1, but I am not running Solution Manager on EHP1, I am on SP Stack 17.
Looking in the SWDC there are downloads in  SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 -> Entry by Component -> Solution Manager JAVA Stack -> WILY INTROSCOPE ENTPR MGR 8
Is this what I should be using for my SP Stack 17, or should I use the EHP1 version?
Also, setting up the Solution Manager Diagnostics, is there a setup PDF for Solution Manager 7 SP17 ? I cannot find a setup guide for this release, most are for EHP1, I would rather not have to implement EHP1 as part of this migration !
    Thanks for any help.
    Paul.

    Hi Bhudev
Thanks for the reply, I presumed it was the Wily introscope 8 without the EHP1 I required.
As for installation guide, I have think you have misunderstood my question, I already have the wily installation guide from the note location, I wanted to know if there is any Solution Manager Diagnostics setup guides for SP17 ?
When I use transaction SOLMAN_WORKCENNTER --> System Monitoring --> Solution Manager Diagnostics --> Diagnostics System --> Diagnostics Setup --> Setup Wizard
the first 2 (of 23) setups are failing :
SSO The value of profile parameter login/accept_sso2_ticket could not be checked
BI Cannot invoke CCMSBISETUP on host localhost
    Warning :
User(BI) Role SAP_BI_E2E does not exist
    Then it says :
To complete the Diagnostics Setup, you should perform the following operations as documented in Diagnostics Setup Guide
I cannot find this Diagnostics Setup Guide for SP17 ?
The installation guides are mainly for EHP1, media library under sap-ag.de/diagnostics does not show this setup guide, Master Installation guide does not mention it, so was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for this guide ?
    Thanks,
    Paul.

  • How to configure CTS+ for Solution Manager for XI 3.0

    Hi ,
We are working on XI 3.0 SP 20 and Doing a file system based transport of .TPZ files. We observed that there is a possibilit of misssing the objects while tranporting. So we are planning to set CTS+ with our Solution Manager.
    Question:
    1. Can we configure CTS+ through the latest version of Solution Manager for XI 3.0 landscape?
If Yes .. How?   If No... Why?
    2. Is there any way to make the the transport automated like ABAP tranports.
If there is.... Please send the link or documents..
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi Venkat,
Thank you for the Demo. The Demo gives me information about the CTS+ setup. I am looking for the compatability of CTS+ for XI 3.0.
We have Solution Manager 7.1 setup in place.
Please let us know if we can setup CTS+ on solution Manager (7.01 EHP1) and use it to transport XI 3.0 SP20 IR/ID objects  across  the XI landscape.

  • Third-party tools  for solution manager

    Hi all,
Im new for solution manager a i just  want to know whats SM tools and whats the third-party tools integrate and interface with SAP Solution Manager and if will be more third party tools??  ( Whats the add on tools SM have??)
    regards
    Tim

    Hi Murali Narayanan
If you wan to achieve monitoring from technical perspective, the way that was introduced by shivjansi might be the option.
If you want to check the entry of specific table in stand alone MSSQL to ensure the business process that use MSSQL
stand alone DB, you can use BPMon remote DB monitoring that enables monitoring of non ABAP/ non SAP that supported
by netweaver like MSSQL, Oracle, DB2.
By using this function, you can monitor the entry of your stand alone SQL server.
For example, stand alone SQL Server has some table that contains some error,
or there is  application table and in one row that it indicates error or  completeness.
Now if you want to check these error document or incomplete document  in the DB,
you can use BPMon remote DB monitor.
By monitoring this, you can ensure whether there is issue in your business or not.
You can find out how to setup from following link.
    http://service.sap.com/bpm
    ->technical detail ->Setup Guide for non-ABAP/non-SAP
P14 (The monitoring object u201CGeneric Table Entry Counter for remote DBu201D (NATABCNX) )
    is related description.
(In the document, it also introduce some other way using web service).
Also in same link, you can find out other document like how to setup BPMon.
Also there is some blog about table entry counter. it is for SAP ABAP system.
But the function is more or less same for remote DB.
So you can also check following blog to have more understandable image.

  • No EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager task in SDCCN

    Hello All,
We have configured SAP Solution Manager and managed system to generate EWA report.
In Solman, we have created the system, logical system and solution. We have activated the managed system in Setup EarlyWatch Alert in Solman.
In Managed system, we have activated SDCCN, assigned BACK RFC, created Maintenance package and refresh sessions.
However, after completing the Maintenance package task there is no EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager task created in managed system. We have reviewed the task logs and found no errors.
In Solman, when we create EWA for today's date the status is showing with an Hour glass stating that "Wait for session data: SAP EarlyWatch Alert and session number"
Kindly assist us in fixing this issue
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Satish

    Hi
the task "early watch alert for solution manager" created automatically when did you perform the task "refreh session" or "Maintenance Package"
please create the  relevant task, via : SDCCN -> Task -> Create ->Request session data ->Periodic -> Earlywatch Alert -> Continue.
'Schedule' the start date of the first session  and - Task -- create Click on 'Refresh sessions' - Press 'Enter' - Select 'Now', to schedule the job 'immediately. once you create the relevant tasks you go by,  in the Menu -  Goto -> start - to activate the Earlywatch alert session Now, you can check the finished EWA task in 'done' tab.
Login to Solution Manager, goto trx. DSWP --> Select your solution, Solution Monitoring - Earlywatch alert -  Click on Earlywatch alert --> start service processing --> Press 'OK' to start the background job - click 'Refresh'
Now, you can see the 'Early watch alert' in the green colour .

  • Steps for solution manager sizing

    Hi,
I could not see sizing for SAP solution manager in Sizing tool.
Pls let me know of where i can find it

    hi,
    taken from
    [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b442d4ea-0c01-0010-a8ad-a4c2eaaf6b76]
    it is told :
Do you have a rule of thumb concerning sizing?
For small and medium sized companies, there is no need to set up a high-end server if it is only used for the SAP Solution Manager and its monitoring functions. A small/medium-sized server is sufficient. However, this is dependent on your needs and future plans. The following sizing proposal is based on a standalone server with SAP Solution Manager only.
    - For basic setup: 1 CPU current standard (min. 1 GHz), 1GB RAM, 50 GB hard disk space
    - For advanced setup: 2 CPUs current standard (min. 1 GHz), 2 GB RAM, 50 GB hard disk space
The basic setup of SAP Solution Manager is defined as only having SAP EarlyWatch Alert and service level reporting, configured on the satellite systems and up to 5 users working at the same time on the SAP Solution Manager.
The advanced setup of the SAP Solution Manager requires additional steps after the basic setup is complete. The advanced features cover the configuration of system monitoring and/or business process monitoring. For further information, please refer to the sizing proposals for SAP Solution Manager 3.1 on the SAP Service Marketplace.
    hope it help you.

  • Question about setup ewa in solution manager 4.0

    Hi
I tried to setup ewa in solution manager 4.0, but when I clicked on the "setup EarlyWatch alert", it told me that:
the Service is not available, Fehlercode:ICF-NF-http-c:000-u:SAPSYS-l:D-i:saptux04_SM4_04-v:0-s:403-r:Forbidden
    HTTP 403 - Forbidden
    any one can help me?
    best regards

    Hello,
You will have to activate the service first in transaction SICF.
SAP recommends to do so via the the SAP Solution Manager IMG following the respective IMG path:
<i>SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Confiugration -> Basic Settings -> Standard Configuration of Basis Settings -> Solution Manager -> Activate Solution Manager Services</i>
Enhanced configuration of SAP EarlyWatch Alert (Service: /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/dswp_rating_4_monitoring)
This application is fairly new and contained in SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SP12 onwards. Information on the respective functionality can be found right here in the SAP Solution Manager SP News:
    http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000478802007E
I hope this helps to solve your issue.

  • Is it feasible to create odataservice for Solution manager using UI5 technology?

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to create new odata service for solution manager, such as Viewing BPML(Business process master list).
If yes, kindly share the steps/way to achieve.
    Regards,
    Asmita Ranade

    Julie,
same answer here which you already got in the two threads you opened on the MOS communities: No, not really since you want to do it in Answers. It *would* be possible in the RPD, but quite pointless to instantiate an RPD variable just to instantiate some literal code.

  • Problem in installation of Business Content for Solution Manager

    Hi all,
I have a problem while trying to install the Business Content for Solution Manager. In detail, I cannot install/ see the Process chains. I am not much familiar with Business content installation, so maybe I missed and /or some step.
Following the instructions from SAP IMG (SPRO/ SAP IMG / Solution Manager / Configuration / Scenario-specific settings / Solution monitoring / BI Reporting / BI Client) , I activated the Datasource 0SM_SMG_ROOT , performed all the steps and installed all the relevant Business Objects  (Infoobjects, Datasources, Infocubes, Infopackages, etc.). All the objects seen from transaction RSA1 seem correctly installed and activated.
The last step is the installation/activation of the Process chains. This step is executed, but the installation job terminates with messages like  “Infopackage 0SM_XXXX does not exist in D version; activation not possible”. It seems like Process chains are looking for some Infopackage, and these are not present. They are not present indeed, and I don’t know why. The result is that no Process chain is visible from transaction RSPC.
Am I missing some step, or doing a wrong/ incomplete procedure ?
    Thanks a lot

    HI Saravanan,
For Solman Service Desk, the following objects are used :
    Cube : 0CSRV_C01
    DSO  : 0CRM_PROH
    DataSource  :  0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H
And apart from this there are some MD datasources, for BPARTNER, USER STATUS, CATEGORY etc.

  • BI content for  Solution Manager 4.0

    Hi Experts,
I want to install BI content for  Solution Manager 4.0 but i don't know what kind of BI content i need and where can i get some information about this.
if somebody knows somthing , please , let me know.
    Thank you.

There isn't a lot of standard content for Solution Manager. It's mostly alerts, server, module, database and overall system information for the environments connected to that Solution Manager instance. The standard DataSources are:
    0SM_DSWPBI_BPM                   BPM Data (Alert Data)
    0SM_DSWPBI_DB390
    0SM_DSWPBI_DB400                DB400 Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBADA               Adabas Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBDB2               DB2 Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBINF                Informix Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBMSS              SQL Server Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBORA              Oracle Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_MODUL              Module Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_PERF                 Performance Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_SERVER            Server Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_SYSDATA          System Details Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_SYSTEM            System Data
There are several InfoCubes, one for each DataSource in the standard content. These InfoCubes are then unioned in a standard content MultiProvider.

  • Process for applying for Solution Manager Key?

I have to install a NW2004s system in a AIX Machine.
I understand that i need a solution manager key for installation. We dont have solution Manager installed in our Landscape. But i came to know that i can request for a solution manager key from SAP
Please let me know the website, process for applying for Solution Manager key

    Balaji,
This is interesting, SAP is pushing customers to have solution Manager installed with features like Solution Manager Key, Maintainance Optimizer etc. It will get difficult for customers who do not have solution Manager running on their site.
You will have to create support message under the component XX-SER-SMKEY and request for solution manager key, provide them all the details of your system.
    Cheers,
    Nisch
