I am trying to use LabVIEW Crossbow Xmesh WSN driver for downstreaming commands but driver programs are not working.
I am interested in changing node (Iris mote with MDA300 board) update rate from LabVIEW program running on host PC .
I have used Set node update rate.vi with open stream.vi and start stream.vi in proper sequence and developed a program to change node update rate. When program is run no error is shown but node update rate is not changed.
Pl suggest what I should I do.
What is the function of WSN write VIs (WSN write Raw 1sensor1point). For what type of message this is used.
I want to actuate relay on MDA300 with mote id 2. What VIs (from driver ) I have to use and how to issue command related to it.

I am sending you snap shot of VI developed to change node update rate.and also the heirarchy of drivers VIs used in the program for better understanding .
In case you can figure out why the command message send is unable to communicate with mote .
Also for downstream communication with motes the packet format used is described in Moteworks user manual from MiMSic.com
I think the developer of these drivers can help you out in solving my problem.

An internal application (.exe developed in Delphi) at a
clients server (
no webserver) can communicate ( JSON protocol) with other
applications, also web based.
While testing the AS2 / AS3 classes ( from
http://www.json.org ) in the Flash
IDE (ctrl-enter) their was no problem. I made a connection on a
static IP-adres with open port and could send/recieve json-objects.
So far so good.
When publishing it for a html page, the trouble began. The
known security problem.
Is there a solution?
We don't know where to put the crossdomain.xml because there
is no root! There is just an application listening to an open port
on a static IP adres.
Just a single executable listening to an open port if a
request is comming in so it can send an answer.
Is there a solution?
How does the flash player finds out if a crossdomain.xml is
avalable?
Does it send a request also? Is it ok to generate a
crossdomain.xml on the fly on that request?

Both Firefox and Microsoft explorer cannot communication with other webcites but g\Google Chrone can communicate. What is going on?

Strangely enough the banner information si upto data but I cannot communicate with other cites. the connect box just spins.
This is not true for Google Chrome which connect quickly with all the addresses.

I have no idea if I have a 'users.js file' anywhere; let alone in my 'profile' ...WHAT profile? where?? why? I have never needed to know anything about a users.js file to download or update a browser of any kind.
Nonetheless, IF a 'users.js file' is something that exists, behind the scenes, appearing something like "general.useragent.override" I would have no idea how to locate - or check whether or not I have one. You say it would be in my "profile". A "Firefox" profile? A MAC system profile? A hard disk profile? A Utilities profile? I have no idea what / where this may be.
I will try the suggestion by cor-el: Download a 7.01 - SAVE the dmg (slippery suckers, hard to find again, once arrived). Then I will isolate that in a special folder and remove my current FIREFOX from my computer; and open/install the 7.01 clean.
The only problem is I don't know exactly WHAT is mucking things up for the 7.01 to fully install. THEREFOR it seems I will have to search out and destroy all the parts of my CURRENT browser (icons/volumes/files/ et al) ...hoping that I DO remove the nasty part - and that I DO NOT remove something I need to either (A): keep my extremely deep bookmark files and/or (B): allow 7.01 on my system (as it IS an UPDATE - if I have NO "7.0" - can a "7.0.1" load / install without something already in the 7's to work from?)
I was hoping to avoid this 'search and destroy' raid on my Firefox, for the above reasons; but since I have NO idea what the "user.js file" or its attendant "profile" are, I see no alternative. Unless somebody has a better idea before Monday; I'll go in there and tear it out - after bringing in the dmg of 7.01 first. It'll be a crapshoot; maybe I'll luck out. I HOPE so, 'cause I really hate Safari. Wheeeeeeeeee!

Firefox is showing a grey globe for secure site when other browsers are showing a lock icon.

We have several sites that have SSL Certificates. When the website switches to HTTPS, Firefox still shows our pages with a grey globe. Sites (like Amazon) are showing they are secure displaying HTTPS pages. Other browsers are displaying our pages secure like they should.

Best practices for securing communication to internet based SCCM clients ?

What type of SSL certs does the community think should be used to secure traffic from internet based SCCM clients ? should 3rd party SSL certs be used ? When doing an inventory for example of the clients configuration in order to run reports
later how the data be protected during transit ?

From a technical perspective, it doesn't matter where the certs come from as there is no difference whatsoever. A cert is a cert is a cert. The certs are *not* what provide the protection, they simply enable the use of SSL to protect the data in transit
and also provide an authentication mechanism.
From a logistics and cost perspective though, there is a huge difference. You may not be aware, but *every* client in IBCM requires its own unique client authentication certificate. This will get very expensive very quickly and is a recurring cost because
certs expire (most commercial cert vendors rarely offer certs valid for more than 3 years). Also, deploying certs from a 3rd party is not a trivial endeavor -- you more less run into chicken and egg issues here. With an internal Microsoft PKI, if designed
properly, there is zero recurring cost and deployment to internal systems is trivial. There is still certainly some cost and overhead involved, but it is dwarfed by that that comes with using with a third party CA for IBCM certs.

Communicating with other ejb's on different servers not in a cluster

I have a problem and that is that I cannot get to EJB to communicate.
What I do is this

When I tried to use communicate with JONAS
I got a security problem
We innstalled a security manager but we still had the same error
Somethin about not getting socket permission
When I tried the same senario with BEA's T3 protocol I got an error that
told me that t3 was no a valid protocol???
Does anyone have sample kodes for a senario such as this one?

I tried something which worked but it is not recommended because the Workload Manager has trouble with this if you cache the InitialContext over multiple sessions.
What i did was create a hashtable which could hold multiple Initialcontext and were stored based on the JNDI-name, i also had another hashtable which stored objects that held information about the EJB (jndiName, classname, providerURL, caching). So what i did was when you call the ServiceLocator for the first time, 2 hashtables were created and filled based on an xml-file. Then if a client wants to access an EJB all it had to do was give the JNDI name, from one hashtable an object was retrieved, check if that objects holds an providerURL, if not use the standard, if so get the InitialContext from the second hashtable and perform a lookup. Works perfectly but again not recommended.

We are currently using software written in HP-Basic, now we want to add
some functionallity to our programs but would like to use Labview as our
new developement tool.
The problem is that we want to communicate with our new programs from
HP-Basic, how can this be solved?
We have some ideas:
*Build the labview program as an windows executable file and communicate
with it through application arguments (like argc, argv in c/c++). We
don't know if it is possible to use this in Labview.

*Communication over TCP, we don't know if this is possible with
HP-Basic.

There is an example on the NI website that shows how to do this. Try www.ni.com/labview/
and then 'drivers & downloads' -> example programs. In the 'no hardware required'
section, you'll find an item called 'command line
interface for LabVIEW'.
IIRC: only for windows, not unix, but that's fine for you.

A fairly obvious solution, and easy to debug: code will work also if you
are running in the environment. I don't know if the commandline would work
in that situation.

Don't know. For new applications this is porbably preferred, as it also allows
web deployment.

New Apple Keyboard for Dual G5 with KVM Switcher

Hi Everyone,
I have a Dual Mac G5 and a Dual Mac G4 with a Belkin KVM Switcher, so they are able to both share one monitor. I am not sure of the model number of the Switcher, but I bought it because it was recommended by Apple. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it over a year ago.
My problem is this. I plugged the new Mac keyboard into the G5, where the old one was. When I did this, the Switcher just kept switching back and forth, on and off, and just was not behaving.
Is there some software out there that I have to install that will enable me to plug in the new Mac keyboard without any problems with the KVM Switcher?

Just make F5 as your Dashboard...
System Preferences---> Keyboard---> Shortcuts---> Mission Control---> (check mark Show Dashboard)---> Double click the current state (could be F12). When highlighted, hit the actual key "F5".
From then on, you should be able to hit "F5" and it'll show the Dashboard for you.
I believe there are at least two Apple Wireless keyboard out there. The one that I am on right now shows 6 squares on the F4 key. The other has the dial face on the F4 key. This one also has brightness control for the backlighting on the keyboard, or rather the built-in keyboard of a Mac Book (Air and Pro). Which are on the F5 and F6 keys. Why Apple did that, I have no idea.
You could also use a Hot Corner to open the Dashboard. For instance use the upper left for it.
System Preferences---> Mission Control---> Hot Corners (lower left of the window)---> Select the upper left and scroll to Dashboard.
I personally like to have the Dashboard "fly" over my current screen/desktop. So I unchecked "Show Dashboard a Space."

What is the optimum setup arrangement for Time Capsule with an ATT Uverse Router?

I recently installed a Time Capsule in conjunction with my ATT Uverse router. I read alot of information regarding the setup. Most articles sugessted to disable the ATT router and let the TC handle the router function. I was hesitant to do so as I feared I might mess my network up. What I wound up doing was set-up another network using the TC (bridge mode). I set my iPhone/iPad/Macbook Pro & Apple TV to use the newly created network. My question is this, is this still an optimal setup and am I still able to take advantage of the N network range?

You would need to perform major surgery to try to convert the Uverse gateway to act as if it were a simple modem, and even if it were possible, AT&T would probably not support it. Things should work fine the way you have them setup now.
The Guest Network feature is not available when the TC is configured in Bridge Mode, but otherwise you can use the TC to provide a high quality wireless access point for the network, which is controlled by the Uverse gateway.

Yes, the TC is providing a dual band wireless network, with optimal "n" speeds. The range on "n" wirelss is not necessarily better ("n" signals are weaker than "g" signals), but "n" does provide faster data transfer speeds.

Need API for Java communicating with RS232

Dear All,
I am a newbie to Java. I have a sensor connected to a microcontroller, and this microcontroller is also connected to a PC through the RS232 (COM 1). I have installed the Java Communications API "Javax.comm" on my PC and was able to run the "BlackBox" sample program. What I require is a simple Java program that will read and show the bytes comming through the COM1 port. If anyone has done anything similar or has an idea of how to go about it, could they please send me some example code, I would be very grateful. Or if anyone knows about any website with such similar examples i would be very grateful.

Setup reports for pdf creation with company logo and printing without

Hi,
we want to have 2 different report-layouts.
The first one is just for printing on company paper. So it doesn't need a logo.
The second one is for exporting to PDF file. So it needs a logo.
How can I realise it in SAP BO 2007 without changing the standard layout everytime?

If sending out pdf's vs printed doc's depends on BP or user, you can play with setting up the default layout for specific users or BP's, otherwise you need to change the default one all the time.
