Setup e-mail

I AM HAVING TROUBLE SETTING UP MY YAHOO E-MAIL ON MY BLACKBERRY STORM, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.

Do you have the Email Setup icon on your home screen? Otherwise, I find it easier to just go to verizon.blackberry.com. After setting up a user name and password, all you do is type in the addresses you want to add, and you're done.

How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?
Have an Exchange mail account setup and accessible in my mail on iPad... however my kids use it and i would like to restrict them from accessing this specific portion of the device.  I tried viewing restriction options and do not see that i can apply a restriction specifically to Mail.  Thanks for your help.

Not a feature of iOS. Check the AppStore to see if there are other
mail apps that allow passcode protection.
Or use Safari to log onto your email via a web-based interface and
enter your credentials each time. A bit slower, but the kids will
not know the details to login.

I moved from an old macbook to a new one.  I have installed Office for Mac 2011. I copied all my files from my old notebook onto a hard drive.  On trying to setup my mail, i went into my hard drive and accessed microsoft user identities, office 2011 and it shows the database but wont let me select it.  Its almost as if the file is there but not accessable.  I desperately need to access my old mail.  How do I do this?  I am fairly confident that I copied all files off my old notebook.  Is there a way for me to search for the Database file?  Maybe I copied it to a different location?  Urgent help please.

Hello mafrerichs and welcome to Apple Support Communities,
Simplest way is to use Target Disk mode:
How to use and troubleshoot FireWire target disk mode - Apple Support
and hook to another Mac and use CCC or SuperDuper and clone your HD to another drive.
You could also pull the drive out of your MBP and use an external USB case or SATA - USB dongle to hook it to another Mac.

    Hello,
If the instance is a named instance, then SQL Server Browser service should be started to be able to connect to the instance
    using TCP/IP.
    Hope this helps.

    Try this:
Email server settings (POP and SMTP)
AT&T email server settings are needed if you intend to use an email program (e.g. Outlook) with your AT&T email accounts. The current settings are displayed in the table below. If you only use AT&T Webmail to access your AT&T email accounts, these settings are not needed and you can access your mail by logging in at https://login.yahoo.com/.
If you signed up for a free att.net email account after 6/12/11, you will not be able to use an email program (e.g., Outlook) with your AT&T email account.
Note: AT&T's POP/SMTP settings have recently changed to inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net. However, if you are using the old settings, they will continue to work.
    The following mail server settings will work with all AT&T email domains: @ameritech.net, @att.net, @bellsouth.net, @flash.net, @nvbell.net, @pacbell.net, @prodigy.net, @sbcglobal.net, @snet.net, @swbell.net, @wans.net.
    Email Program Settings Field:
    Enter:
    Incoming (POP)
    inbound.att.net
    Outgoing (SMTP)
    outbound.att.net(requires authentication)
    Incoming mail server:
    POP3
    Incoming/Outgoing User Name:
Full AT&T email address, including domain (e.g., [email protected], [email protected])
    Incoming mail port #:
    995, secure connection (SSL) checked
    Outgoing mail port #
    465, secure connection (SSL) checked
Note: When updating the secure server settings, check the SSL check box first and then update the port number if necessary.

How do I setup additional mail boxes?

If you mean additional email accounts then Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account
If mean email folders under an account, then at the moment you can't do it directly in the Mail app. If it's an IMAP type account then you should be able to login to your account on a browser and create them there, and they should then appears in the Mail app. If it's a POP type account then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got. With iOS 5 later this year then (from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#more) :
Even add and delete mailbox folders on the fly

  • Cannot setup e-mail on ipad2 accepts account but will not send mail ?

cannot setup e-mail on ipad2 accepts account but will place messages in out box and not send ?

It could be that your ISP wants you to use a specific outgoing mail server. Check with your ISP. Sometimes they will only allow you to use their outgoing mail server when you're on their network and not your own. For example, if you use Optimum Online they may only let you use mail.optonline.com for outgoing so you couldn't use mail.yourdomain.com.
They do this to cut down on people sending spam from their networks.

  • Can't setup iCloud mail with my MobileMe id

Just installed Lion on my Early 2008 MacBook Pro. I am trying to setup iCloud Mail & Notes for the first time in the System Preferences. iCloud asks me to "Choose an email address." I already have a MobileMe address so I enter that. iCloud responds by saying that address is already taken. Of course it is, by ME! Whe won't it accept my email address? It appears that iCloud wants me to create a totally new address, but I already have one?
    Thanks!
    OS X Lion 10.7.3
    MacBook Pro (early 2008)
    iPhone 3G (System 3.3.2)

I do have two separate Apple ID's. One is my original ID (before there ever was iTools, mac.com, MobileMe, etc.) linked to my local Internet service email address. The other Apple ID is an old @mac.com. I thought @mac.com and @me.com were one and the same (aliass or each other)?
I have successfully started setting up iCloud from my System Preference using both ID's. I have tried both. I can setup Contacts, Calendars, etc., but when I try to setup Mail & Notes, iCloud says that someone already has my @me.com address, and that I should create a new one.

What's wrong to my ipod touch when i have setup my mail, contact, calendar? What should i do? I can't access my yahoo mail through my ipod touch

Try deleting the Yahoo account stuff from the iPod and reenter the settings. Some users have had to reset their Yahoo password to get it to work. Many users have problems with their Yahoo account on the iPod.

  • Trying to setup another email . Ihave setup the mail the same inbound

Can't setup additional mail account with same inbound & outbound settings as the existing 2 accounts that currently work. The only difference is the mail id and password.  These are correct, they work on my other computers.  Get error message inbound server not working. Have deleted this account shut off the ipad and reinstalled but get the same message

You might try contacting the email provider to see if there are any limitations on the number of mobile accounts you can set up.

Deleting AD users vs Disabling.  What is the difference?  If an account is disabled, can it still be setup for mail forwarding to another user? If an account is deleted, what files get deleted?  Thanks.

    Hi,
Disable Users: Nobody can log in to the mailbox, but the data is safe and it can receive email. Once it is enabled, it is back to normal.
Delete Users: when the user is deleted all the services are removed and all data is erased. The user is deleted from our Active Directory. If you create a user with the same Name and Emial address again, no data or services are recovered.
If you disable a user, the Active Directory object remains untouched together with the mailbox data and properties, but you will not be able to access any mailbox data.
If you delete a user, the Active Directory object is removed together with all data and properties of the user.
    Hope it helps.

  • Can't setup BT Mail on iPhone or iPad after workin...

Having been asked to change to the new look BT Mail (had to change password, for some reason) on laptop on 19th Sept, noticed on Friday 26th that I couldn't send emails from iPhone (receiving OK).  Ran throught the steps suggested on several threads on this forum but kept getting error message "password or usename is incorrect...".  Tried deleting account, etc - no good.  Saturday morning, tried again - worked perfectly - able to set up BT Mail as described and send emails.  Saturday afternoon, tried to retrieve mail - got the error message again - could not receive mails now!  Ran through the steps again and again.  Cannot complete setup.  Checked on iPad - same issue.  Checked settings against my wife's phone and ipad - she has no issue and settings are the same.  She hasn't changed to the new BT Mail.  Suspect that something hasn't synchronised on server side with the new password.
Have checked login to My BT, BT Sport, etc and all OK.  Checked my BT profile and looks OK.  As I said, it was working fine for a few hours yesterday but then failed again.    Any ideas?

SORRY, Please read this one I sent it too early...........
Hi, I have had the same issue for the last few days. However today I set up a mail account on my ipad & iphone with my previous password and it works! make sure you put your previous email password under the outgoing server details too. It worked for me so I have now contacted BT again to ask why it is allowing me to use old passwords on the iphone/ipad but can only use the new password on the laptop webmail. Good Luck
