Hello !
It seems you dont have BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) Plan activated on your device.
Contact your service provider for its activation.
Once your BIS is activated, you will see "EDGE" or "3G" symbol on homescreen.
Then try to setup your email account.
Hope this resolves your Problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would request you to Click on "Like" and accept as "Solution" so that other Advisors doesnt invest there time on this Message anymore.

  • Can't get 8530 to let me setup email accounts.

I just got a new 8530 Curve.  When I go to setup my hotmail, yahoo, gmail, email accounts it won't let me.  Is this Verizon's problem or with the phone?  I'd like to get it done.  Thanks.

BIS = BlackBerry Internet Service. See this FAQ:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for
BIS is a service, hosted by your carrier/RIM, that is enabled when you subscribe, from your carrier, to an adequate data plan (the last one described in the FAQ). BIS enables your BB to do all of those things listed in the FAQ. For email, BIS functions as the intermediary between your BB and your email service(s)...it is what enables (from the perspective of the BB) true PUSH email.
You have a BIS account, managed by your carrier. BIS accounts can (not MUST) have credentials. Credentials for BIS are needed if you wish to access your settings (email configurations, for example) from a PC/browser since there is no way for BIS to recognize you -- when you use your BB, it knows who you are and can get into your account without credentials. But, once BIS credentials are created, they must thereafter be used via the BB interface as well -- but it has a checkbox for "remember me" so you only have to enter those credentials on the BB once.
So, it would seem that someone created credentials on your BIS account. It could have been the carrier for whatever reason. In any event, you need to contact them so that you can have the credentials and use BIS...you must be able to log into BIS in order to add new email configurations, modify existing ones (when you change your email password, for instance -- that is stored inside of BIS so that it can retrieve and deliver email to you), and other things (e.g., Sending Service Books when there is a problem).
Contact your carrier. They will likely need you to tell them something so that they can validate who you are. They can then reset the BIS account credentials so that you can again use it.
    Hope that helps!

  • Cannot setup email account

Hi, I have had my Blackberry Torch for a while now. When I first got it I tried to setup the email account but for some reason my email address was already there, it said all I have to do is type in my password, so I did. But it keeps saying 'Sorry, unable to continue your session. Try again later'. How do I get my email to work? Or how do I delete the email completely and start again? Please help!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Inside of the same email configuration wizard, you can remove any account that is already there, and thereby start over clean.
KB04620 How to delete an email account integrated with BlackBerry Internet Service
KB02189 How to associate email addresses with the BlackBerry Internet Service account
If you cannot do so via the on-device wizard, then try, from your BB Browser, this site:
    www.blackberry.com/integrate
Further, from a PC/browser, you can access your BIS account (which is what this all is) if your carrier provides such an interface:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
Last but not least, you can ring up your mobile service provider as they manage your BIS account for you.
Hopefully something amidst that will work for you!

  • Cannot setup email account always asking for password

Just got the IPad3 and setting up my email account.  I tried setting it up the same way as my IPhone.  Had  the email account and password entered but when I exit, it gives me a message saying that it may not be able to send or received mail.  I don't know what else is missing from the setup.
When I try to open my email, it always asks for the password, entered the password again but does not open my email.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

  • RE: Setup email account using blackberry

I am currently using bold 9900 and i wanted to setup my email account. however, the email setup only provide me with enterprise email activation, but no internet email activation option. may i know how can i setup my internet email account now?

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as additional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • Trying to setup email account - getting "server connection failed"

I'm hoping someone out there can help me setup a POP account on my iphone. My host where the email account is based says it supports POP and/or IMAP, but I've tried to create a new account on the iphone with both methods and get the same message each time. The error says:

The certificate for [email protected] may be invalid.
I just setup the same email account in my microsoft outlook and it works fine. Any thoughts???

Same problem here. We are running Exchange 2007 at my school and all I want is to get my mail sent to my iphone. I have no need to sync my iphone to my school computer.

Microsoft told you that? Very strange. Did you even try the wizard? Oops...Oh shoot...you are on an old legacy BB device with BIS. Sorry, forgot about that. EAS does not work with BIS, but if they face OWA to the internet for this email, it can integrate with that. I'm pretty sure that Office365 faces OWA.
I don't remember about configuring POP...I gave it up years ago. Only use IMAP and EAS now, no need for ancient POP. Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I can't find the setup for that anywhere. How do I do it? I've seen hreads about you needing a dataplan and what ever, does that mean if I don't have that I can't use the email function?
I would think it would be able to synk with windows live mail but no. Sense outlook no longer exist its only able to synk my contacts I have.

    Hi there!
Here is a demo to follow:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/blackberry101/setup.jsp#tab_tab_email
However, if in the BIS configuration wizard (usually accessed via Setup > Email Settings) only shows Enterprise email, then you don't have an adequate data plan from your carrier to enable the enhanced BB Push email. You will need to contact them to find out what plan you need from them (at whatever fees they charge) to enable access to their Blackberry Internet Service. Typically, it's called The Blackberry Data Plan -- generic data plans are usually not sufficient to enable access to the enhanced BB services hosted by your carrier.

  • How to setup email account on mail app?

I currently have an ".edu" account that I usually log-in through a browser.
I usually place my email username in mail.office365.com then redirects me to adfs."school here".edu
Then I usually do the actual login username and password for the organizational account.
We are currently using the Outlook Web App on our school email.
So, I don't know how to use this .edu account for the mail app in Windows 8.1.
Is there any manual settings to add a microsoft account in windows 8.1?

    Hi,
Did you mean that you want to add a “.edu” account to Mail App (Tile)in win8.1, if so, please open mail app, move mouse to the right edge, click Settings>Accounts>Add an account>Other Account.
But to get started with Mail app, you need a Microsoft account, see detailed information in this link:

  • Bold 9900 Internet email account setup

I've look at a lot of post on this subject but no luck.
I have just taken delivery of a Bold 9900 and put in my EE sim (UK). Out of the box phone upgraded to 7.1 Bundle 2061 and everything seemed to go OK.
Phone, texts, wifi, browser all work fine.
Trying to get it to link to my hotmail account and no luck.
Setup - Email Accounts - just asks me for enterprise account details which I don't have.
Go into email icon and select options, email account management, get the message "unable to open email set-up application. Contact service provider" which I did an dthey said its a BBerry problem. (helpful)
Tried to go to www.blackberry.com/integrate and mobile.blackberry/com/integrate as I've seen in a few logs and I see nothing pointing me towards Communications which I think is what I'm meant to be looking for.
Bit lost now. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to tell you, but they fobbed you off. Refer:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Social-Lounge/How-This-Site-and-Formal-Support-Work/td-p/2540...
Regardless of if the problem is with EE (which I suspect) or with BB, EE remains your sole channel for formal support on the matter. If they cannot resolve it, then they must escalate formally to BB via channels to which only they have access. Consider -- you pay EE for all of your services, you pay BB directly nothing at all. EE is responsible for all of your service delivery, and all of your formal support, even if that means they need to escalate to BB to resolve your issue.
    Cheers, and Good Luck!
