Setup.exe does not execute - Oracle 10g on windows xp!?

Hello,
I have a problem while installing Oracle 10g Release 2 on my XP-prefessional machine (including service pack 2). By doubleclicking the autorun-file the openingdialog pops up, but after I chossed Installation nothing happens - the same by starting the setup.exe - also from the dos-box. I shut down my AntiVir and the ZoneAlarm-Firewall and tried again without success. Maybe sombody had the same problem. Big thanx for every help.
I would be glad to get an error but absolutly nothing happens!

Installing on Windows is pretty simple, unless there is something that prevents the java environment from starting the console. Check the path environment variable and make sure there are no other jdk mixed. Check that the windows security doesn't prevent the oui console from starting, it happens that the windows security blocks java applications, and if you asked it to do it by clicking accept, then it won't start.

  • 10g setup.exe does not execute on XP pro?

Instructions say: Download the Complete Files
10g_win32_db.zip Directions 1. Download to an empty directory and run setup.exe in the /Disk1 directory.
I did and it doesn't do anything when I run setup.exe. My drive is partitioned for what it's worth.
    Thanks!

I fell to the same error.
Are you running the setup without unzipping the file?
It just wont run, you need to unzip the file and then run setup.

  • Setup.exe does not execute

I am working with Windows XP Home OS. I downloaded Oracle twice. The first time with 92021Win64_Disk1 and 92021Win64_Disk2. The second time with 92010NT_Disk1.
In both cases, the program of intallation of Oracle I do not manage to carry out program SETUP.EXE
Which version I have to download and what I must make?
    Thanks

  • Setup.exe does not wait until the installation is done

    Hi,
I downloaded ODAC 10.2.0.2.21 from here:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/other/ole-oo4o/ODAC1020221.exe
And after extracting all files, I use this command on cmd:
setup.exe -silent -noconsole -waitforcompletion -force -responsefile <Path>
Furthermore, I have BOOTSTRAP=FALSE on oraparam.ini but setup.exe does not wait until the installation is done.
I only want a way to wait for the installation to complete...
    Cheers,
    Joan

What's the main reason you want to do a silent install for ODAC?To launch it from a bigger installer of an application which uses ODAC.

  • Tasklist.exe does not list all Modules in Windows 7 64-bit

tasklist.exe does not list all Modules in Windows 7 64-bit.
If I want to look at the DLLs loaded by Excel, I would type:
      tasklist /M /fi "imagename eq excel.exe"
When I run this in XP or 32-bit Win7, it works fine, showing all the dlls loaded by excel.  However, in 64-bit windows, it does NOT show all dlls - only a limited subset.  If I use Process Explorer, I can still see all the DLLs loaded by excel,
but that is useless for writing automated scripts.
To check this out, try looking for kernel32.dll - it is always loaded by Excel, but tasklist does not display it in 64-bit Win7:
       tasklist /M kernel32.dll /fi "imagename eq excel.exe"
So, since tasklist is broken, is there a good (command-line) way of looking at what dlls are loaded by a process?

  • Ora10g_win64_cient Setup.exe does not start

    Hello Everybody,
I downloaded ora10g_win64_client (10.1.0.2) and I try to install it on Windows 2003 Enterprise SP1 for Itanium 2 but when I try to launch setup.exe then a black windows named Oracle Universal Installer appear on the screen.
On this window the following message are displayed...
    Starting Oracle Universal Installer...
No pre-requisite checks found in oraparam.ini, no system pre-requisite checks will be executed.
Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI\~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\1\OraInstall2007-01-23_06-04-52PM. Please wait...
After 5 seconds the window disappear and the Oracle Universal Installer does not start.
Do you have any idea to solve that problem?
    Thanks and best regards
    David Lindemann

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply to my thread but I already did what you suggested without success and after further investigations we found that the problem is in the jre. The java.exe does not work, it return an unknown error. We tried to download the jre from SUN in order to use it instead of the one delivered by Oracle and it worked the installation succeeded.
But now we have a new problem, the Network Configuration Assistant does not work an exception is throw by the oranjini10.dll

  • Oracle 11g R2 Install on Windows 7 64 bit setup.exe does not work.

    Hi
I am trying to install Oracle 11g R2 on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. When I execute setup.exe as Administrator the command window flashes and exits. I could not even see what the message is. Also tried command prompt. Can anyone help me resolve this issue?
    Appreciate your support.

    Finally the install is successful.Congratulations.
And thank you for posting your solution. The security issue was quite a surprise to me as well, although it ties into a PC World article I read today.
To continue, please make sure you have a static IP address. If your system uses DHCP, that may mean setting up Loopback Adapter, configuring a static IP address other than 127.0.0.1 for that (for example you can use 192.168.123.101), and updating C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. (note - no 3 char 'type on the hosts file) to include an entry like '192.168.123.101 myhost.example.com myhost', and perhaps setting your ORACLE_HOSTNAME variable. This is all described well in the Install documentaiton at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10843/reqs.htm#BABIAEEC

  • Java.exe does not execute the clas file ????

I would like to know how to run a compiled program in Java, for example HELLOWORLD.CLASS after I have changed it from a .java file into a .class file.
What can I do to execute this .class file to see how

    You should start with:
java HelloWorldRemember that it is case sensitive. There are several other things that can go wrong so keep posting your trials and errors!

  • Oracle ADF refresh as deferred does not execute query on page load

In the oracle ADF page I have two panel boxes. (Oracle ADF 11.1.1.4)
    a) Personal information panel box with PanelFormLayout (PersonalInfoViewObj) - ReadOnly View Object
    b) Address information panel box with Table (AddressInfoViewObj) - Read Only View Object
For the iterators in a) and b) I have kept refresh condition as deferred and cacheResult=false. Also in b) for af:table, I have kept contentDelivery="immediate"
When page loads it fires SQL query for a) and populate the data in Personal information panel box. However for b) it does not execute the SQL query and the data is not getting populated ( in AddressInformation panel with the tables. Please note data is there in the DATABASE......)
Becasue with the refresh as deferred it was not executing the sql query for Panel b) (panel with Table and table iterator). I have tried refresh as always and refresh ifNeeded/renderModel/prepareModel however in that case it is executing the SQL query two times (twice).
Please let me know the best way to fix this issue.

    Hi,
I think you need a method in an application module to init your data.
In your AM : create a method like :
    public void init(){
    getViewObject().executeQuery();
}In your adfc-config.xml create a methodCall from this method and a "control flow case" from the methodCall to your page.
and keep refresh as "deferred " in your pageDef.

  • Oracle 10g on Windows 2003: instance not autostarting

I'm installing Oracle 10g (10.2.0.1) on two new Windows 2003 servers, and I'm facing the same problem, even after some full re-installations, on both of them; so this issue seems to be some kind of bug related to Oracle 10g on Windows 2003 and not just some random error.
When I run the installation it completes fine, and the database instance gets created and started without any trouble; I can connect to it using the console, the Java stand-alone Enterprise Manager, SQL Plus or anything else; it works when connecting from clients, too.
As soon as the server is rebooted, Oracle services start but it just seems the instance isn't actually started: any connection is refused by the listener which complains about not knowing the supplied instance name, and the oracle.exe process only uses about 11 MB of memory, which is a sure sign it isn't doing anything useful. The instance is configured to start, the registry keys are properly set, and everything works correclty after the installation... but stops working after the first server reboot.
I tried manually stopping and starting the services, in various orders; I tried re-installing Oracle various times; I tried deleting and re-creating the database instance, both at setup time or manually after the setup was done without creating an instance, I tried anything I could think of.
The only thing I didn't try was applying patch set 10.2.0.3 to the installation, but I just can't seem to find them, even though my company has an Oracle partnership; I find Metalink just a bit too confusing.
    Can someone please help?
    P.S.
The servers are actually VMWare ESX virtual servers, but I just can't imagine this to be the cause of the problem. The operating system on both servers is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition (not R2), italian language, with service pack 2 and all the latest updates from Windows Update. The servers are not domain members and I'm running the installation using the local Administrator account.

I don't have a physical server available now, but I really can't even imagine how the underlying hardware, be it physical or virtual, could affect this behaviour. I'm talking about the Oracle service starting while the instance isn't, this is very unlikely to have any relationship with device drivers.

  • Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application

    Hi,
I have downloaded the Database trial 92021Win64_Disk1 and I unpacked the archive using WinRar. When i doubleclick on the setup file I get the following message:Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
What am I doing wrong? I am using WindowsXP Pro. Does this archive has to be burned on a CD in order for the install to work?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. It is my mistake to assume that windows 2003 server (enterprise edition) is a 64-bit OS. May be it is some other version. Don't forget Microsoft has different versions of windows 2003 server, One of them could be a 64 bit OS. I found out, Installing Oracle 2000 server edition and applying the patch for windows 2003 server as oracle recommended will do the trick. Looks good so far (everything went fine).
    Thanks everyone

  • Forms 6i setup.exe will not run

I am trying to uninstall Forms 6i from a PC (Windows XP) and the manual recommends doing it via the installer.
However the installer (setup.exe) will not run. No error message, control just returns after double click.
I am pretty sure this was how we originally installed Forms 6i but for some reason it does not run now.
Tried a couple of things like turning DEP off, to no effect.
Anybody has an idea where the problem is?
Or should I just uninstall the hard way by deleting the folders and cleaning up the registry manually

    Hai,
In The Properties of the setup file, there is a Tab Named Compatibility. In that tick the Run this program in compatibility mode for:
and select the latest Operating system listed in the Combo box. (Eg: Windows 2000).
    and Press OK.
    then it will work.

    Manu.
