Setup failure

Just got Airport Express for my MacBook Pro. Want to be able to use laptop in different areas of home without DSL plug in wire. Can Airport Express accomplish that? Is it a router? I have Verizon DSL. I'm not subscribing to any wireless network. Apparently the computer to computer connection works but I don't have another computer to connect it to and don't want one. Did I purchase the wrong device?

I just posted it in another thread:
I have a similar problem: I tried to hook up my cable internet connection (Comcast) to go wifi via Airport Express (802.11n). The first 2 times I searched for airport, airport utility found airport express. I tried to set it up, but could not get the internet running.
Now, AP utility doesn't find AP express at all anymore, while the light is flashing amber without the ethernet cable plugged into it. AP shows a constant green light when I plug the ethernet cable in, yet I still cannot access the internet via wifi. My network does not show up.
I tried to reset AP express (pushing the reset button), but nothing would change.
Any suggestions?
I = desperate.

  • SQL Server Setup Failure 0x84B10001 (SQL 2012 SP2 and SQL 2014 Standard)

I'm having a problem with SQL Server Setup. I had SQL Server 2012 R2 SP1 installed, and the SP2 installer would fail.
I decided to just get SQL Server 2014. The setup (and system configuration checker) for that fails with the same error.
    SQL Server Setup failure
SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:
'.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 231747.
    Error code 0x84B10001
I found this and other posts about similar problems that point at MSDE being the cause.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/bc9f4949-1b45-427c-aa2b-d2222488a13e/problems-installing-sql-server-2012error-code-0x84b10001?forum=sqlexpress
I definitely had MSDE installed, but I went through the steps to manually remove it and rebooted with no luck.

  • Setup failure not recorded in Execution.ResultStatus

If a step fails during the Setup section of my sequence, the result visible in a VB.NET event handler is "Passed", rather than the expected "Failed" or "Error".
Private Sub ExecutionTwoFinished(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax._ExecutionViewMgrEvents_EndExecutionEvent) Handles axExecutionViewMgrTwo.EndExecution
    If e.exec.ResultStatus = StepProperties.ResultStatus_Passed Then
    End If
    End Sub
I have "Step Failure Causes Sequence Failure" selected.
Is there a setting which I am missing to cause the failure to be reported correctly?
    Thanks!

    Hello PMichaelson,
I tried to replicate the issue that you are experiencing, but unfortunately I was not able to see the same behavior that you are seeing. When I ran a TestStand 3.1 sequence, which had a step that failed in the setup code group, the variable e.exec.ResultStatus from the function you listed in your post did return Failed. As long as your sequence is set to run the Setup and Cleanup code groups, I am not aware of any other settings in TestStand to force this behavior. If you are still having problems with this issue, you can create a small example which demonstrates this behavior, and feel free to attach it to this page. I will then see if I can replicate it on my end.

  • Adobe Reader Setup Failure - Error 150202

Repeated attempts to install Adobe Reader on my Windows XP SP3 PC fail with the following error in the Setup dialog box.  "Setup was interrupted before Adobe Reader XI could be completely installed.  Error Code: 150202"
I've tried searching for this specific error code to provide a clue about the failure, but I am coming up empty.
Can anyone help me to resolve this issue?

  • Satellite L650-170 (PSK1JE) Setup Failure

Today i purchased a toshiba Satellite L650-170 (PSK1JE), i turned it on, and yay, I had to sit through a 2 hour long setup.
After 2 hours, it restarted for the 10+th time, and this time, instead of succesfully installing one of the 42 things it had to install,
it didnt start up, the only thing that was on the screen was a loading bar, with the text above saying it was starting the services
It did not do anything, i could just leave it there for an hour, "starting services"
So i tried to repair it, started it up, F8, and guess what, there was no Repair Computer option(wich should be there!),
all the other options were available, such as safe mode, so i tried safe mode
Even in safe mode the loading bar popped up, starting the services, and it crashed there.
I tried to recover it with a windows 7 recovery disk (wich i had to download and burn myself on another laptop..!)
Even with a recovery disk, it only gave me errors, it was unable to start the recovery
So yeah, now were about 6 hours later, ive successfully installed a trial of a different version of windows 7 on it,
Now all i have to do is download about 30 drivers from your website, and install them one by one, and restart the computer 30 times
I installed the webcam driver, restarted like it told me to, and i got a message that it was missing a dll file.
Do you have a disk available for download that contains the regular windows 7 home premium setup? with all the proper drivers?
Because mine was bugged obviously. Im not going to download 30 drivers that will not work on the current win 7 i have installed on it.
    Regards,
    Philipp.

    > Do you have a disk available for download that contains the regular windows 7 home premium setup? With all the proper drivers?
Because mine was bugged obviously. Im not going to download 30 drivers that will not work on the current win 7 i have installed on it.
    Recovery disk is not downloadable
First of all the notebook should contain HDD recovery option which could be started pressing F8 -> Repair my Computer -> HDD recovery.
Its strange that you didnt find this option
Here is documentation how to start the HDD recovery. But of course this would work only if the HDD was not formatted and OS has not been changed
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=58
However, it seems you have formatted the HDD using other Windows OS.
If you want to get recovery disk then you can purchase this from here:

  • Email account setup failure

AT&T 8310 Curve - I have one e-mail address set up and working fine: IMAP
Trying to set up a slightly more complex one fails.
The differences with the second account are:
    It uses SSL.
The mail server is NOT the same as the domainaname in the e-mail address.
The username is NOT the same as the part before @ in the email address.
The email address is: [email protected]
    Server is  mail-amer.isp.com
    Username is: ABC123
    Service is IMAP/SSL
So, when I try to "Set up an existing account" -- web/pc (but same result from BB).
I enter email address [email protected] and password.
This fails, as I would expect. I then choose the option to provide the details myself.
    I enter:
    Username: ABC123
    Password: ******
    Email Server: mail-amer.isp.com
    Email address: [email protected]
It tries to set up, but fails.
I am assuming that it will try SSL - Port 993 since I can't specify this.
    It should work, but doesn't.
The text on the setup form worries me. although I selected ISP POP/IMAP the form is entitled "Set up existing Outlook / Outlook Express account" -- Which is NOT what I am trying to do.
Similarly, the comments under the entry fields seem to be wrong.
For username it says "(e.g. jdoe or [email protected])"  -- well, my username isn't the first part of the email addr.
Anyway - whatever - it fails to work.
Of course, there seems to be no way to contact anyone with a clue to get this set up ... any suggestions are welcome!

when it fails ( you can make it fail by providing wrog password): Choose this is my work email account -> I will provide the settings to add this email account   -> in the server name try using IP address: 216.126.204.65 ( this is what came when i used 'mail-amer.isp.com', is its diferentmail server, get the correct IP address) and then also make sure the user name is correct (it could be 'jdoe' or your full email address, try both).

  • Evernote Account Setup Failure

I cannot get the account setup for Evernote to work on a Z10.
    What's occurring:
    Setup->Accounts->Add Account->Evernote
        evernote login page shown.
I enter user name and password, click on "Sign in"
Evernote website goes to next page
    I click on "Authorize"
immediately I get an "Error: Couldn't connect to the server" and it shows a "Try again" button
    I click "Try Again"
Evernote website displays 'Missing required oauth parameter "oauth_token"' and dead ends.
There is a 'cancel' button ribbon at the top of the screen for the whole duration, so I think I am still in the normal account setup.  Anyone else have same problem?  Is there a workaround?
From Evernote's perspective, the Blackberry is being authorized correctly, it is visible as a new device in the Evernote account logs.  But the blackberry does not appear to be capturing the oauth token, nor completing the account setup process. I can't tell which side of the equation (Blackberry account setup vs. Evernote website) is screwed up.
Evernote customer support will not provide support.
    I'm running latest OS on a Z10.
I can't think of any interfering service or web configuration.  I've tried over cellular and wifi data services.

Have exact same problem and response from Evernote.  The first Z10 I had sent through the Evernote setup with no problem and was working great.  That device was faulty and had to get another.  2nd one has the problem.  Will monitor this thread for updates.

  • Unable to create partition after RAID setup failure

SL - Tried to create RAID 1 with two external 250G drives. The RAID setup failed indicating improper format pair. So....I attempted to re-create the partition on one of the drives with proper settings.
It will not partition at all. It returns a POSIX error: unable to allocate memory.
    I've tried the following:
    Using startup disk
Partitioning using WindowsXP (which worked....only for Windows)
    Tried erasing
Tried to partition with each partition type.
Nothing works! However, when I restart SL, it pops open a window indicating the drive needs to be 'initialized'. I click 'initialize' button, but that doesn't help.

    Do the following:
    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. If you need to reformat your startup volume, then you must boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger or Leopard.)
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Are you trying to create a RAID using partitions on hard drives or using the entire drive?

Recently i upgraded my computer from XP to windows 7 home premium 64 bit, i downloaded iTunes 9 64 bit and when finished clicked run only to be met by a message saying the digital signature was invalid. edit : If all else fails have a friend download the latest iTunes/Quicktime and burn it to disk for you.

  • Statistical Setup failure - Purchasing application

We upgraded our R/3 Plug-In from 2002.1 to PI 2004.1. To test the setup and init process,we ran the statistical setup run for 02 application. The setup program is successful but the documents are not posted into the MC02....SETUP tables. Checked the NPRT transaction to check the log entries, it displays that 252,000 documents are selected. Checked the extraction using RSA3 as well, it returns 0 records. Are there any specific entries that needs to be checked or entered for PI 2004.1 upgrade with reference to Purchasing application? or should I check any table lock stuff with reference to MC02...SETUP tables?

    MS,
sorry for being so insistent, but for an analysis it is really important to check, if the statistical setup run actually created any data in the setup table.
If there are no records in the setup table, then the RSA3 can not show any records.
    Best regards,
    Bernd Sieger

  • Bluetooth setup failure for Satellite L500

    Greetings,
I just purchased a brand new Toshiba Satellite L500 yesterday. Everything is fine except fo the bluetooth. When I enable it using the FN key, the Vista Auto Setup automatically launches and the installation bar moves slightly and "new device inserted" sounds off and then "device removed" sounds off shortly after it, and then installaion is halted, I waited long but nothing seems to be happening, when I click on cancel, it prompts me that the setup is still running while it is not.
Shall I take my device to the service center or is there any solution I can do it on spot to resolve this issue?
    Appreciate your kind assistance.
    Thank you
    Regards, Adel Kooheji

    >Shall I take my device to the service center or is there any solution I can do it on spot to resolve this issue?
I dont think that you should contact the service center at this time
I mean the guys will try to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disk and I think you can do this too without the help from service people.
So if you want, try to recovery the OS and check if you BT would start again.
PS: your should create the Recovery disk using the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disk creator tool!!!

I just had the same problem while installing a new Arch system. I managed to fix it by running `systemd-machine-id-setup` as root (not sudo).
Also, before I did that, while installing a package I got an error message about dbus not finding a machine id, and that error message suggested running `dbus-uuidgen > /var/lib/dbus/machine-id` (again as root, not sudo). So, you may need to do that, too.

  • PHOTOSHOP SETUP FAILURE- SAYS 'YOU MAY ONLY INSTALL ONE PRODUCT'

I have downloaded the trial version of Adobe Photoshop, when I ever I run the exe, it successfully creates the folder for CS3.
Upon doing this, I access the setup.exe file and run it.
    It completes on 100%, and then says;
'You can only install one Adobe product at a time. Please complete the other installation before attempting to install Adobe Setup.'
I only have reader and flash on my computer, I have searched for this other incomplete installation and have found nothing.
The system is in error as there is no other program installing or running.
What then, is the solution to this issue? How do I get photoshop to complete it's installation?
    http://img514.imageshack.us/my.php?image=adobefailpr7.jpg
There is a screenshot of the fail screen.

This was reported a few times after CS3 came out.
I can only suggest the various steps that were recommended then, which included a full removal from the Control Panel applet followed by a deletion of all folders (in several directories) related to CS3, then running the Adobe clean-up script, then re-installing.
There were other problems related to AV, Flash, IE and registering a DLL too.
All in all, it makes you long for the day when an installation routine worked properly. This is another example of Adobe rushing an incomplete, buggy program out to meet marketing time-scales rather than engineering ones. As long as they go on making obscene profits things are not likely to change either.

  • ICloud Windows Control Panel setup failure

When I try to run the Windows iCloud Control Panel to set up iCloud on my Windows 7 laptop, I get the following message.   "Your setup couldn't be started because the iCloud server stopped responding".   I was able to get it installed on a Windows Vista desktop. The Internet connection is good so that is not the issue. Any ideas?

I just did some other fiddling around and found that there MAYBE some odd interactions with other OUTLOOK Add-ins.     I noted that LinkedIN has an add it connected to >my< contacts.    Some time ago, I recall something similar with Facebook ( but I long ago killed that off)
I found the same "... server stopped working... "   error.  Drove me crazy to diagnose.
Next I told it to be selective about what to synch, not just do everything.  Menu on icloud popped up showing me "do you want LinkedIN connections.... or the Outlook"    Unchecked the "LinkedIN"     All ran fine with just the  OUTLOOK selection !!   Wow....
Ok, still gets a little tricky...     You will now find that outlook has a contact subfolder called iCloud contacts. ( pardon if that is the wrong terminology..)   That outlook-iCloud now contains all the real outlook contacts that used to reside in the "My Contacts >> Contact "  folder.
Now all syncs fine, without error, with this newer "  iCloud > Contacts"    folder.
Pardon if this fix sounds confusing.  :-)   It is...  since I am not a super-techie type to explain properly.
At the end of the day, I am strongly suspecting that all these add in's  begin to confuse  the various programmers who try to make interfaces with outlook.     They may work individually ( as they are all in a final release version )   but adding layer upon layer of different add ins might be confusing some other add in's.
If I am on to something here, then makes perfect sense to me that the Apple Support are confused too    How would they know about all the interations for stuff like    my  Outlook Business Contact manager ( which I am actually now having issue ),   the iCloud interface to Oulook, the LInkedIN interface to Oulook.... then, perhaps once was a  Facebook add in interface too?
For all you who had unresolved issues,  check out my idea and repost your findings too.    Check out this angle.
    Cheers
    Tom
