Setup LWSelect 360 to print from mini mac ethernet socket

I would like to run my 360 direct from the mini mac ethernet socket but I don't know how this is done.
My cable modem is connected to Airport which is plugged into the wall socket. My HP1018 USB is connected to the Airport. My HP 5740 USB is connected direct to the mini mac usb port.
I have an Asante ethernet bridge.
My Ethernet cable is not a cross-over cable.
From cold I turn printer on, and then minimac on. I then turn Asante on. LI light stays on, PWR light stays on, RX and TX flash for a few seconds then remain off.
I then go to:
System preferences>Print&Fax>"add a printer" button
This brings up
Printer Browser> but no printer is found.
System preferences>Network>Location:Automatic;Show:Network Staus
Green light Airport. You are connected to the network Luton. You are connected to the internet via Airport.
Red light Built-in Ethernet. The cable for Built-in Ethernet is connected, but your computer does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet.
Then going to Network:Location:Automatic;Show:Built-in Ethernet
TCP/IP: Configure IPv4; Using DCHP—all the other boxes are blank. IPv6 is configured (automatically?) and a number is stated.
PPoE: Nothing selected
AppleTalk: Make AppleTalk Active [box is ticked] Computer Name: BB Mac mini, AppleTalk Zone: greyed out and blank, Configure: Automatically
Proxies: no entries
Ethernet: Ethernet ID: a number is stated, Configure: Automatically
Grateful for any help and advice that will get my 360 up and running while maintaining my wireless network.
Many thanks
Bob

Red light Built-in Ethernet. The cable for Built-in Ethernet is connected, but your computer does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet.
It will need an IP Address, and if you are not using Ethernet to connect to the Internet via a Router, you will need to provide one Manually or change your wiring scheme (see below). Choose an address similar to the Airport IP address assigned to your computer by your Airport Base Station/Router, but a bit higher, e.g, Airport is assigned 10.10.10.3 via DHCP. Use a similar number but somewhat higher, but less than 254 such as 10.10.10.101. Use a Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0 (which says anything the same in the first three octets is on my Subnet and can be reached directly). The rest can be blank, or you can fill in the DNS info provided by your ISP.
Also, important -- you must turn on AppleTalk on your Ethernet port (using the AppleTalk pane), which will turn it off over Airport.
Last step is to cycle the power on your AsanteTalk, since it is horrible at re-acquiring printer/Macs that drop out for any reason.
Now try to set up your printer again. Remember the LaserWriter Select 360 is an AppleTalk Printer, do not allow it to configure as an LPR Printer.
Alternate wiring:
Another alternative is to connect the AsanteTalk to a wired Ethernet port on your Base Station, if one is available. Then it can get an IP Address from the Base Station directly. Some third-party base station of lesser-known brands do not pass AppleTalk packets over wireless, so this is occasionally a problem.

    Every time Firefox opened

Go to the "File" menu, then "Print." The window that appears will have three drop-down menus at the top.
    The first is labeled "Printer",
    The second is "Presets".
The third is unlabeled but has "Copies & Pages" selected by default.
Click on that third menu and select "Firefox" near the bottom of the list.

  • If I can print to a wireless printer from my Mac, wouldn't it seem like I could print from my iPad mi I and iPhone 5?

I cannot print from my iPhone5 nor my iPad mini, to a wireless HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m. I can print from my Mac book pro. Is it my settings or the printer that is not set up correctly?

First check to see if its airprint enabled, it will be listed in the first article link. If not, then there are other options listed below.

  • Unable to print from my Mac system, but my other computers work

Have you encountered a problem printing from your Mac computer and it seems to work from everything else?
I have looked at several posts regarding to printing from a Mac.  PrintDoc seems has a solution that can resolve most of the printing issues from Mac when other devices work.
    1.  Reset the printing system by clicking on Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system and following the steps exactly.  This will reset just the printing system back to a fresh start.  This works for 10.5 to 10.7.
    2.  Download and install the driver package Apple has here.  This driver package will work for most HP printers.  There is a link at the bottom of the driver page to verify that your printer is included.  If it is not, check HP's support and drivers page at www.hp.com to download the right driver package for your printer.
This will resolve printing issues on Mac systems when the problem is isolated to the Mac.

  • How to print from a Mac to a PC by WiFi

I have a printer (Canon MF6530)  connected to a PC Windows XP ServicePack3, i want to know, how can i print from my mac (MacBook Black Intel Core 2 Duo(/Lion)) to the PC by using WiFi, i´ve been trying several times, made my research and cant make it.  I don´t know how can i use the PC´s IP, in order to connect the computers. Beside i don´t understand the difference between the Options IP and Windows when i try to install the printer in my mac.

It should show up in the available printers list when you select the "+" button in the Print & Fax section of System Preferences then. If it doesn't you can try selecting the IP pane and entering the IP address of the PC and use either LPD or IPP.
Sorry, if it's still not working I would have to say "I don't know."
    Best of luck.

  • Why cant i print from my ipad using airport express but i can print from my mac using the express

why cant i print from my ipad using airport express but i can print from my mac using the express

Because your printer has to be Airprint compatible and connected to WiFi. There are applications, such as Printopia, that will allow you to print through your computer.

  • Can i print from my mac to a win 7 printer?

I have done a search and was unable to find the answer to my question. I have tried to figure out how to print from my MBP to my wifes printer that is attached to her windows 7 computer. I am able to print to that printer over the network with a windows computer but not my mac.
Does anyone know how to get this done or if it is even possible?

Printing from your Mac to a printer attached to a WIndows 7 printer can indeed be done.
It use to be quite easy under Windows XP or even Vista, But Microsoft changed the SMB code in Windows 7, making it more of a headache.

  • Can't print from Intel Mac w/Snow Leopard to HP 2600

Can't print from Intel Mac w/Snow Leopard to HP 2600.  Upgraded from OS 10.4 and printer showed on printer list along with an Epson scanner. but continually shows printer as offline.  I finally deleted the HP Color Laserjet 2600n from the printer list.  When I attempted to re-install it, it doesn't find the printer at all.  I haven't attempted to use the scanner.  I also went to HP and downloaded the driver, no luck.  I've restarted the computer multiple times, tried it with the printer on, and printer off, as well as pulled the usb cable in and out both ends.  No error message on the printer display and it gpes through normal warmup until it shows the green light.  I run software update and it shows no updates needed.  Help!

When you press print the first window is pretty basic.
When you select print on that the next window should have an advanced option.
Click that and see if any of the options in the 3rd dropdown box allow you to specify the 'paper tray'.
    AC "
In this new windaow, click "advanced", go to "paper type/quality" and choose " best" and a photo paper. Then you will be able to choose a paper source (photo tray).
Once you have these settings, under presets do "save as", and you can choose the preset instead of going to advanced.
If you have the latest software and drivers downloaded from HP, this will work.

  • I have purchased a new printer.  It is the same make as my old printer.  How do I remove the old printer from my Mac?

I have purchased a new printer.  It is the same make as my old printer.  How do I remove the old printer from my Mac?

you could see if that make of printer has an uninstaller (may come with the installer)
or go to preferences, print and fax, and press the minus key   (  -   ) which should maybe remove it. Or ,do a a find, then type in the make of printer, and anything that looks like a printer driver for that make, well, maybe it's gotta go
    just an idea

  • Printing FROM a Mac TO a WinXP machine/printer

Hi,......my brother and I have run into a problem we can't get around. He just got an old G4, but his main computer is a WinXP machine. (I'm trying to convert him) He has an Epson R220 printer hooked up to the XP machine, and wanted to print from the Mac to the R220 via his wireless network. We have tried all the things they suggest and are still getting the NTSTATUS_ACCESSDENIED error message. I know it possibly has something to do with SAMBA, but we can't figure it out. There are tons of articles on the net about that error message, but none of the possible solutions we have tried, have worked. I was wondering if anyone has done this and got it to work.....and/or what is the best way to make it possible to do this.
I told him he could use Bonjour on Windows and hook the printer up to the Mac, but he has no room upstairs to put a printer on the Mac.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Scott,
Xchaserr's link is a non-Samba (Windows Printing) method.
There are literally 1000's of responses regarding NT_STATUS here in the forum. Be sure to look in Keychain and delete any entries related to connecting to the PC. And yes, I do have this working. I don't have a firewall running on the PC (I figure the router's firewall is good enough). Back when WinXP SP2 was installed was the only time I got NT_STATUS errors.
