Setup multi button mouse

I have a nobutech bd-ms 140 external mouse that has 5 buttons. Anyway to set the buttons up through Snow Lep setup.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Does your Mac recognize it? (Menubar, System Preferences, Hardware, Mouse)
If it recognizes it as a generic USB two-button or three-button mouse, that's probably all you're going to get.
Unlikely that it has an OS X driver, since it is listed on the manufacturer's website, www.nobutech.com as a Windows USB plug-n-play mouse. No mention of OS X on the spec sheet here: http://www.nobutech.com/products/BD-MS140/specs.pdf

  • Not the end of the world, multi button mouse problem.

    Hi there, I have a Microsoft multi button mouse which works fine in Leopard. I have configured 2 of the buttons for Command+H (Hide), and Command+W (Close). The buttons work fine everywhere except one place, and that's System Preferences.
    I have added a custom configuration for System Prefs, but that doesn't seem to solve the problem either. It isn't the end of the world, but it would be nice if it did work.
    Thanks,
    Anil.

    Hi Topher,
    I am using the latest driver from Microsoft, and the mouse works fine everywhere else except System Prefs. I haven't tried USB Overdrive because the Microsoft driver has a very nice front end which makes configuring the mouse very easy.
    Thanks,
    Anil.

  • Dell multi button mouse

    I've attached a Dell mouse, which has left and right buttons, a track wheel, and two additional buttons which usually go back and forward in applications when pressed.
    Looking at the mouse System Preferences Help file, it shows that if I have a multi function mouse, then additional options should come up, however these have not appeared.
    Is there a way to get this mouse to work correctly? Although it's only for convenience sakes, it would still be nice to have these functions.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Pretty much all mice come with software for OS X to support their scroll wheels, extra buttons and such. I've been using a Logitech MX300 since the day I bought my G5. Works just ducky!

  • Wired Multi-Button Mouse for OSX.5 & PowerMac - Seeking Recommendations

    I poked around at the Apple Store on-line and I saw many wireless mice and a few wired mice. I focused my attention on the wired mice because I am not interested in the wireless variety for my desktop and in several of the reviews it mentions incompatibility with OSX.5.
    So, any OSX.5 users out there have any feedback on the good, the bad and the untrustworthy multi-button mice?
    I like most of the Mighty Mouse features, except for the lack of a right click button (yes I can set the little scroll wheel button for that (and I have) but it just doesn't feel right to me).
    Thanks.

    Martin,
    The Mighty Mouse does have right-click functionality, without using the scroll wheel. I'm not really sure why you think it doesn't. Nevertheless...
    I really, really like all of the Kensington products. I have a Kensington Bluetooth Pilot Mouse Mini for use with my Macbook Pro, but I also have a USB "Studio" mouse that is still used with an older G4 tower, and it has delivered fantastic performance. This is a three-button mouse with a touch-sensitive strip in place of a scroll wheel, but I don't think they make this one anymore (unfortunately).
    Perhaps the best thing about Kensington devices is the accompanying "Mouseworks" software. The software consists of drivers for most of their products (not necessary in most cases) and a new "preference pane" where the device's buttons and features can be configured and customized, even on an application-by-application basis. Very powerful tools.

  • Turn multi-button mouse into single button mouse

    I thought I would never want to go back to the single button mouse that Apple preferred until recently.
    But now my 3 year old son is learning to use the computer and has a lot of problems with contextual menus popping up all over the screen. Is there any way to turn the right mouse button into a second left mouse button?
    Mac Mini, Powerbook G4, B&W G3   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi, Wim T. If your son has his own user account on the Mac, you may be able to use the mouse's configuration software to set both buttons to do the same thing — in his account only. That would leave your own mouse-configuration preferences undisturbed. And I second Kappy's recommendation of USB Overdrive as excellent mouse-configuration software.

  • Multi-button mouse

    I just got my MBP yesterday and have not found yet any wired or wireless mouse that will work with it except basic functions like right/left button and scrolling. No way to program other buttons for Logitech mouse (MX 1000 or MX 600) as Logitech Control Center won't even launch on Intel Mac. My Logitech Desktop S530 Laser Combo works great on my first generation (PPC) iMac G5 though, but no way on MBP.
    Any positive experience and/or suggestions (maybe Microsoft Laser 6000 if anyone tried) will be greatly appreciated.

    I have the Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000. All of the buttons of the mouse work fine on Mac OS X if you install the Microsoft Intellipoint drivers. However, what I prefer over Intellipoint is USB Overdrive. USB Overdrive should work for your Logitech mouse. The Microsoft Intellipoint drivers might even work with your Logitech mouse.

  • Regular Two Button Mouse, Corded

    I need help with choosing a mouse that is two button, non Apple, with Scroll Wheel. If the mouse does not need drivers or does not crash OS X or make it slow with drivers installed. If a particular update breaks the mouse or it does not work with Tiger, please post it here.
    Thank You

    In the end you'll need to figure out what mouse will work best for you, but I can make a personal suggestion. As long as you're right handed, I'd recommend a Logitech Multi-Button mouse. I have the MX 510 and I personally love it. It's fairly well supported right out of the box, although for optimum use you'd need to install the drivers. I personally disliked the Logitech drivers (and uninstalled them), but I am a big fan of USB Overdrive which is a third party mouse driver that works flawlessly. As far as the MX 510 goes, it's not very compact (read: meant for desktop use), but it's great for gaming and any type of precision work. I've had mine for over a year with no problem and they have a good warranty if anything did go wrong. Best of all though, it's pretty cheap right now.

    Hope this helps some. You might want to look at some full length reviews of whatever mouse you decide to go with before you buy it.

  • How to setup the button inactive in pf-status?

    who can tell me how to setup a button inactive in pf-status so that the button is inactive when the program is running?
    there is a sample of button '&SUM' in PF-STATUS 'STANDARD'(lines 303) of program 'RM07MKON'.

    Hi huanzhiyu,
    In a custom (Z) program you can make PF status buttons and subsequently their OK codes inactive by using the following command:
    SET PF-STATUS 'STANDARD' EXCLUDING '&SUM'.
    And if you need to exclude more than one OK code
    data: itab type sy-ucomm occurs 0,
          wa type sy-ucomm.
    move '&SUM' to wa. append wa to itab.
    move '&ADD' to wa. append wa to itab.
    set pf-status 'STANDARD' excluding itab.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do you folks setup your Apple Mouse also known as MightyMouse for iMac?

    Any hints?..., tips?..., pointers?..., suggestions?..., ideas?..., alternative ways?... how you folks out there setup your Apple Mouse also known as Mighty Mouse for the 27 inch iMac 3.2GHz Intel Core i3 Trying to interpret the available documentation that turned up so far... not easy, information in the documentation could be better, more crystal clear ! Needed are more and better diagrams with better labels that better differentiate a variety of setups!

    Go to Systems Preferences and click on the Mouse icon. You have a choice of how fast you want to track, scroll and the double click speed. It also gives you some choices of one-finger and two-finger operations. Change the settings (maybe one at a time) and see what best fits you. What I have my mouse setting on are comfortable for me; they might not be comfortable for you. Try changing the settings in Systems Preferences until you come up with a configuration that meets your needs.
    There is a "mouse" chapter in the "Everything Mac" manual that came with the computer. It has more information on use, settings, etc.

  • Initial setup without a mouse?

    Got my iMac back from repair.  I have a wired keyboard and a wireless magic mouse.
    I'm stuck during initial setup because the mouse isn't recognized and the keyboard can't finish the setup.  For example, it won't let me use the Return key to select my country.
    And the Bluetooth setup assistant never popped up to even look for my mouse.
    Any way to finish the setup without having to go buy a usb mouse?

  • Finder 5 button mouse forward/backward

    After upgrading to Maverics I lost the back and forward function of my Wacom 5 button mouse in finder. Anyone know how to fix this w/o a 3rd party software install?

    It doesn't work for me also...
    I have seen a similar thing on this forum earlier.

  • 2 button mouse for MAC

    I'm authoring a project on a PC but also need a MAC version.
    There are some functions that require a right mouse click. They
    work fine on the PC but can't get them to work on the MAC. I have
    emulateMultiButtonMouse = TRUE. I have a two button mouse on my
    MAC. Right clicking does not work and Control clicking does not
    work. Any ideas?

    Have you set;
    the emulateMultiButtonMouse = TRUE
    or;
    emulateMultiButtonMouse = TRUE
    If it isn't preceded by 'the' then it's just another
    variable. In MX2004 you could also use;
    _player.emulateMultiButtonMouse = TRUE
