Setup my Work Email on my iPhone

I have an iPhone and subscribe to MobileMe. I am also trying to access my email and calendar from my work email. Would I set it up as a Microsoft Exchange Account?

Your work would tell you the settings you need as they have to first setup Exchange to allow it.

  • Receiving work email on my iPhone

when i go into the settings and add a new email account so i can receive my work email on my iPhone, i get the error: cannot connect using SSL.
My tech guy said to use the email forward function in our email admin site requiring me to type [email protected] but i don' want to have to do this. Can anyone please help? Thanks!

I believe the iPhone's Mail client attempts to connect to the incoming mail server via SSL when creating a new account which is secure. If SSL is not supported by the incoming mail server for the account, you should be provided a prompt - do you want connect without using SSL?
If SSL is not supported with the account, are you not provided the prompt to connect without using SSL?

There is probably 2-step authentication set.

  • Is there a way to set up an auto redirect from my work email to my iPhone?

I currently using my personal email on my iPhone. However, I would like to find a way to get my work emails automatically redirected to my iPhone when I am not in the office. I don't want to set up a separate account because I only want those emails which I receive after I leave the office. I'm envisioning something similar to call forwarding on a phone where when you are in the office, you take it off, and when you are out, you can turn it on.
Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it, and what do I need to tell my company's IT person? I don't want to be carrying 2 smart phones (Blackberry for work, iPhone for personal use).
    Thanks,

The only problem will be when replying or forwarding a work email with your personal email account, which will be sent with your personal email account/address.
This can't be set up with the iPhone - this must be set up at the server for the email account to be forwarded to another email account.
Is your work account an Exchange account? If so, I'm not sure if an Exchange account supports being forwarded to another email account, and this would need to be turned on at the server at work every day at a designated time and turned off at a designated time in the morning.

My wife is having trouble setting up her work email.  We get to the screen that requires a username and host name.  We are not sure what to enter for the host name?  I believe username and password should just be her login name and password?  She uses simplehelix as the host.  Thanks!

  • Using my work email setup on my iPhone 5 I am  unable to send the email on my own hotmail account. Please help !!

Using my work email setup on my iPhone 5 I am able to send emails to all my colleagues on same network but I am unable to send the email on my own hotmail account. Please help !!
I have setup email using POP settings.

Okay, so you are sending mail from a work account on the iPhone 5, however if you try to send it to your hotmail or gmail accounts from the same work account, they are not received on the hotmail or gmail account? Is that correct?
YES - (The message is shown as delivered as its moved to sent folder)
Then secondly, if you attempt to send mail to anyone from the hotmail or gmail accounts on the phone to anyone at all, they show sent but never arrive. Is that correct?
NO - I dont have any hotmail/gmail account setup on my phone. Its a new work phone and I only have work email account setup on the phone. I was just trying to send a test email to my hotmail and gmail account but failed to receive those using my work email account on iphone 5.
I have tried receiving email on my work account on iphone, sent from my hotmail account (using web) and received it.
Incoming is all fine and I am able to receive emails from all sources but outgoing is only sucessful if I send it to anyone using my company's email account.
Sorry if my question wasn't clear earlier. I really need to fix this..
    Best regards,

With an attitude like that, you got nicer replies than you should have.  I have my work email on my iPhone and my iPad, but there's no way on earth anyone here would have known what my companies server is other than my company system administrator.........

  • Is it possible to get my NYC Department of Education email on my iPhone? I found an old discussion from a few years ago, tried to follow the advice and it wouldn't work.

I found a discussion from a few years back that had some varied advice on how to do this, but when I tried all the methods listed it still wouldn't work on my phone. I've also tried things I found on other sites. I'd love to be able to get my work email on my iPhone as we are doing blended learning this year and it's better not to give students my personal email.

I'll try it, but even so i would be at a loss of 5,000+ photos and videos, probably around 250 notes, and many of my contacts/texts.

  • Added work email to iPhone now can't send emails for either hotmail or work account

I just added my work email to my iPhone and now cannot send emails. I am still receiving emails to both my work email and hotmail account but despite sending test emails to myself I cannot send any emails. Can somebody help explain why? Thanks

Remove your work email from the device and then test the issue.

  • ALL WORK EMAILS COMPLETElY ERASED-NEED RESTORE EMAIL ASAP

    Hello,
I was trying to setup my work email on my mac when I accidently clicked REBUILD on my mac email and this completely erased all my emails.  I need a restore program to help restore my emails since I work through this email and if I cant recover these
I will be out of work for about a month.  PLEASEE HELPPP!!!! My work email is [email protected]  This is a microsoft exchange email and i use the microsoft web app to long on OWA.  I called Apple and they said they wont be able to help
me restore since this is an exchange email.  I also called my employer and they were not able to help me either.  Please let me know if there is something that can be done to restore my work emails.

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that you want to restore the data after rebuild the Outlook for Mac.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
By default, rebuilding the database deletes any information that is not synchronized with the Exchange Server, including your contacts' certificate. Before you rebuild the database, we recommend to back up the current identity. Therefore, we can re-create
a new identity to resolve your problem. For your reference:

I find an similar thread about How to recover Outlook data if the rebuild fails, for your reference:

  • I'm trying to sync with my work email...

I know this question has been asked 1,000 times, but I still cannot figure out how to do this.
Our company uses Microsoft Outlook 2003 on Windows XP. We also have the ability to check our email on the internet by going through and Exchange Server (which is currently the only way that I can check my work email on my iPhone).
I would like my Work Outlook email to be able to sync directly to my iPhone, just as my GMail currently does.
Is this possible? And what exactly do I need to tell my IT guy to do for this to work? Any help will be appreciated.

Your IT need to have IMAP access enabled on your Exchange server. Then he needs to tell you the incoming and outgoing server address.

  • How do I set up my work email account on my iPhone?

I have an iPhone by my IT department won't support it. So I have to set-up my email myself. The problem is I'm not sure what info to fill in and where.
I am able to access my email using remotemail on the web so I'm hoping I can use that info. My details look as follows:
    http://remotemail.company.co.uk
    [email protected]
I have a user name and password which I use to login which is the same for both remotemail and my network at work.
I have been trying to use the Microsoft exchange setup option on my iPhone but am struggling.
    Can anyone help?
    Cheers

Generally speaking, you need to set up an Exchange account using the Exchange setup option, then fill out the information as listed. The server should be remotemail.company.co.uk with your user name and password being the those that you use to log into your mail site.
However, you must remember that your IT department holds all the keys to the realm, if you will. Unless they have the proper options checked on your account, such as off network ActiveSync access you will not be able to set the iPhone up with your work email account.
Do other people in your company access their email using mobile devices? What devices do they use?
