Setup NWDI in existing Landscape

Hi All,
We have a ECC landscape with ABAP+JAVA with Dev QA and Pre PRD. On Oracle 10.2.0.4 and Windows with sufficient amount of resources.
We want to introduce NWDI in our landscape so my questions are as follows:
Can we add NWDI in our current dev Java stack?
Or we have to set up a standalone server for NWDI?
We are goign to migrate our DEV to 64 bit this weekend so is there any possiblilty we can add NWDI in this process?
ANy inputs will be much appriciated.  links notes .....
Shailesh

HI,
as you said you are going to move your dev to 64 bit..i have no idea  if you can install NWDI at this point
but, you can get installation guides from SAP service market place.
Regards,
Satya.

    Hi,
I need to setup NWDI environment in the Windows Server 2000. I have NWDS and SAP R/3 6.0 installed along with SAP EP 7.0.
Please provide me with enough details to do so.
from where i need to download NWDI software?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sathya

    Hi ,
recommend you to install it in new hardware as nwdi uses hardware resources efficiently.
You  have to install a NWDI (NetWeaver Development Infrastructure -or- Usage Type "DI") with netweaver installer .otherwise you can deploy below sca files from sdm after downloading them from service market place
    ___DICBS*_.SCA |DI COMPONENT BUILD SERVER 7.00
    ___DICMS*_.SCA |DI CHANGE MGMT SERVER 7.00
    ___DIDTR*_.SCA |DI DESIGN TIME REPOSITORY 7.00

  • How to setup default print to landscape in Reportviewer (printmode activex)

We have an ASP.NET (2008) application and use the ReportViewer Web Control to show a Crystal Report on the client browser.
       - We set the "PrintMode" property to ActiveX in order to print to the client's local printer.
       - We set up the Landscape in Crystal Report Page setup.
       - We also put  repdoc.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape in the program.
The problem is when the user clicks the print icon, the report prints in portrait, not landscape.
Is there a solution for this or is this a software limitation?
    Thanks.

How to setup default print to landscape in Reportviewer (printmode activex)
    Hi David,
Yes, I tried that 1196969 solution first, but it didn't work.  I saw all the discussion in the below thread and it seems a product issue mention by you on Aug 6, 2008 3:19 PM
CrystalReportViewer default PageOrientation  ASP.NET VS 2008
I don't know if the fix works for CrystalReportWebFormViewer4 which is what we have on the web server. I put debug alert in the Javascript of the following file
    WindowsMicrosoft.NETv2.0.50727ASP.NETClientFilesCrystalReportWebFormViewer4crystalprinthost.html
I can see the call goes to the file, but won't get to the window.dialogArguments.paperorientation condition.
When I write out: window.dialogArguments.paperorientation; it pops up "undefined".
Is there any updated solution for CrystalReportWebFormViewer4?
    Thank you!!

    Hi there,
NWDI Installation and configuration is bit complex and there are lot of steps involved in it.

  • Want to add new module in the existing Landscape

    Hi Friends,
We have ECC 6.0 running with HCM and Finance, and this is for Phase I and it rolled out successfully last June, now we are going to add Merchandising for Phase II in the existing landscape.
My question is we have in our DEV Systems we have Client 100,200,300 and 500. and in Quality the same and one client in Production.,
Since we are going to add Merchandising in Phase II do we use the same existing clients in dev and qa or we need to have a seperate client in dev and qa,
But end of the day we will have only one client in Prod.
Please let me know we need to use different client or existing clients for realization.
    Thanks in advance
    Sathish

    Hi,
I observe 4 clients in development, possibly my guess would be playpen, golden client, development and unit testing.
For a new implementation I would preferably use another client for the project or use the existing clients based on impact to production support to current landscape.
The clients in QA can be kept same to understand how the new changes integrate with the current landscape and if changes impact the current environment. This would ensure that any problems are fixed before transports are moved to production.
I have assumed a 3 system landscape but there are many possibilities where you can have a separate project landscape for this new module implementation to ensure no impact to production support team.
If your project can afford new servers then suggest buying two servers one with a copy of your development and another with a copy of production(project test system). This was you would start with all new developments happening in current landscape and also would be tested with a current copy of production data.
    Cheers Sam

  • Requirement to check the syntax error of Customize SAP Objects in existing landscape.

    Hi All,
I have two requirements which are a s follows :
1 )    Check the syntax error of customize SAP Objects in existing landscape except using the Tools which are already given by SAP( Example : Code           Inspector , Extended Syntax Check etc.). I have to create a program to fulfill this requirement.
2 )    In case of SAP Upgrade is it possible to know the syntax error in advance that the existing source code will not work in the upgrade version?
Please help me out to solve my issues. Thanks in advance.

    Dear Abhishek,
For the code inspector, the syntax check and the extended syntax check, you can define a set of objects to be teste thru SCI:
    Go to SCI
In the block 'Object Set', you can create a set. For ths, you have to give it a name, select with the icon left of the textbox if this is a global (for all users) or a local set and click the create Icon.
in the next field, you can define which objects ... are part of the object set.
When using SCII to execute the code inspector, you can specify this set instead of a transport(s) or programming objects.
To run only the syntax check and or the extend syntax check, you can specify a check variant in SCI (third screen block) which contains only those tests or you can in SCII uncheck all tests except those 2.

  • Printer Setup for HTML reports (Landscape)

I'm trying to print an HTML report in Landscape, the Report Orientation VI only works with Standard Reports, and I can't find anything that will let me modify the "Printer Setup"
    Anyone done this?

    Jeff,
To print an HTML report it first has to be rendered. To render HTML, you need a browser. For example, you can render HTML in either Internet Explorer or Firefox or Opera, and all three might render the same data slightly differently. To simplify the situation let's say that you're using IE. Once IE renders the HTML, you then have to get it to send the rendered output to the printer. So you can see why it isn't time or cost-effective for NI to try and necessarily support these functions. For the end user however, I'd guess that quite a few people have had this problem.
I have had to do a lot of digging around to get HTML reports to print right. My solution has been to use an ActiveX container with an IWebBrowser2 object (Internet Explorer). This will let you load and print HTML reports programatically however (glancing back over some old code) I don't see immediately how you can print a report in Landscape. With an ActiveX container however you can call the IE print preview function which will let you (the user) modify the report printing to Landscape. It's not a programmatic solution since you have to interact with the GUI but it works. Also, once you set the setting to Landscape, everything printed afterwards using your ActiveX container will also print in Landscape.
Something else which may not apply to you (but maybe--I'll at least mention it) is printing a landscape single image... that's usually why I needed to print landscape... to print out a full page screenshot of a graph or something. I do this in portrait mode by just attaching the control image but rotating it first and adding the HTML code to make it 100% of the vertical page.
Last but not least, if you are 100% set on using a programmatic implementation to print a landscaped report (no user interaction), the best thing to do would be to build on an ActiveX implementation so that your report is being loaded and printed from an embedded IWebBrowser2 object. With the IWebBrowser2 object there is an option for using a pre-defined print template. This option is NOT for the faint of heart and requires you basically to re-program the whole IE print-preview functionality. However, it's not impossible either, it just takes the time of learning basically how the IE print preview interface works and then adapting it to your application (in this case, landscaped printouts). This is also the ONLY way to change HTML report headers and footers. The print preview interface in IE is written entirely in javascript--you can get details on msdn (search for "print preview templates"). However, there isn't really enough info there to do things with any ease. So....
If you get to the point where you get an ActiveX container working and want to fool with the IE print preview javascript templates, let me know. I have extracted the entire template and associated images from the windows DLL it is stored in so I could adapt it and change the headers and footers for my reports and things of that nature.
Now that I mention it, I believe that is the only way also to actually set landscape or portrait--by programmatically changing the printing margins (so it prints 11x8.5 instead of vice versa).
    Anyway, hope that helps...

  • PI 7.1 install in existing landscape

    Hi,
We have an existing ECC 6 landscape with EP6 installed. We would like to add PI 7.1 to this . Other than a resource point of view, can we install using the java stack of the EP6 system and the ABAP stack of the ECC system ? Or is it a best practice to install the PI 7.1 in separate dual stack server?
    Teresa

    Hi Teresa,
You can install PI with the rule of don't installing Portal in the same system,
as it's not supported to have Portal and PI installed together, but of course,
you can separate then in case you would like to have both.
As a small reference for you, please check this link:

  • Installing NWDI in Existing SAP Portal

    hi experts,
My project currently require to retrieve and modify ESS (personal information) standard code since the standard personal information in ESS will not meet our requirement.
I found out that i need NWDI installed in our environment in order to retrieve ESS (personal information) standard code.
my consideration is that we already implement several custom ESS using NWDS for SAP Portal.
By installing NWDI, will it have any impacts to existing custom ESS (using NWDS)?
I already tried to search through forum, but haven't find the answer.
    Thanks in advance

    Dear Rica,
Download the NWDI Component from service market place with same version and SP level.
    DTR
    CBS
    CMS
    SLD
Deploy the NWDI component througth SDM or JSPM. Once finished you can access with http://<Host>:<Port>/devinf
For designing track for ESS/MSS, refer to the JDI cookbook. for your custom development you can migrate to the NWDI.
Refer to SDN Page for NWDI [Click Here |SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI)]for more details.
    Hope it will helps

    hi,
It is possible to add NWDI to esisting j2ee instance.
    Follow these steps,
    1.If it is <b>04,</b>
deploy SAPDEVINF.sca from <b>offline</b> component folder in your 04 build. It will be under sikwxx.relesed\j2ee-cd\jdi.
deploy SAPDEVINF.sca and SA{BUILDT from <b>online</b> component folder in the same path as said above.
2.after deploying go to visual admin.
    c:\usr\sap\SID\JCxx\j2ee\admin--->go.bat
    Go to SID----->services----->Component Build  Services.
Then  enter <b>Java home path</b> in the column which appears to the right
    and set I<b>dlestart</b> to <b>false</b>.
3.Then go to c:\usr\sap\SID\sys\global\CMS_CBS\plugins.Then copy all the sca's under that to c:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox.
    If it is<b> 04s</b>
1.Deploy DI-DTR,DI-CBS,DI-CMS on to the engine from production path under BS folder release.
2.2.after deploying go to visual admin.

  • Attempting setup, account already exists after performing Delete account via Sync website - how can I recreate again?

I had previously setup Firefox Sync at one time under version 3.6, then installed FF v4 and attempted to reconnect using my existing account which gave me an error of "invalid username or password" - and then found I could log in just fine on the sync web page. So I changed my password via the web page. attempting to connect via the Setup Sync wizard still failed with an invalid name or password. I then went back to the sync website and performed a "Delete my Account" which it reported was successful. Unfortunately, now when I attempt to perform a "Create New Account" using the Setup Sync wizard, it complains that "[email protected]" already exists - so I gave it 24 hours figuring maybe there was a nightly cleanup process that took place to clean out the deletions, etc... still no luck. I can't login via the sync web site anymore (due to deletion?) but can't create new account on same email address because it already exists... so now what?

There's no nightly cleanup. Delete should happen immediately, so it looks like something wrong happened. However, if the delete failed, it wouldn't have purged your password.
I've verified that your account still exists, and your email address is associated with it. You can use the forgot-password at https://account.services.mozilla.com/ to reset the password. If you can log into that site, you should be able to log in to your sync, so if you still can't, let us know and we'll get you to turn on some logs to see what the problem is.

  • Members only area setup to query existing database before allowing creation of account

    I followed this walkthrough:
Walkthrough: Creating a Web Site with Membership and User Login
It was very helpful in creating the members login area.
My next step is to link it to an existing database, so it will make sure the person who is trying to create an account is in that database. Is this easily done, or not possible?
I also need to know what I should do with the database. Should it be uploaded onto the webserver? It is currently kept in Microsoft Access, but I believe I need to put it into SQL? I apologize, I am not very knowledgeable about databases and how they work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Setup NWA for XI landscape - error in CIM on SLD.

I am currently setting up the Netweaver Administrator (NWA)and have noticed a "peculiarity" between systems in the CIM landscape.
My landscape is made up of dev, qas and Prod (XI 3.0, oracle 9.2.0.6 windows 2003 cluster) .  I have an app server and db server making up the cluster.
In the landscape, my Dev and prod systems point to app server, yet the test system points to the db server.
I have tried removing the entries and regenerating them, but they re-appear pointing to the db server.
The NWA reads and monitors java systems (from SLD), but it can't read my test server as it's not pointing the correct url....
Has anyone else come accross this?  Or can anyone point me in the right direction???
