Setup two e1200 in same home?

I have a comcast/xfinity modem and e1200 setup in the main house. In my in law house, I am wired from the 1st e1200 to a 2nd e1200. However, the 2nd e1200 will not setup, the connection wizard wants to setup the 1st modem.
I even tried going to the web setup and that configured the 1st router.
I have tried to reset the 2nd e1200 and let the connection wizard do its thing. It still only seems to pick up the 1st e1200.
I know the 2nd e1200 works wired.
I do have network knowledge. However, I have never setup 2 of the same routers in the same setup.
Tearing my hair out now!!!!
Thx!

Sounds really simple. how do I do tht properly? Should I disconnect the 1st router for a min. Comnect the 2nd (so I know I have the right router) and change then IP settings on that one..then just connect as normal?
Thank you so much for your help!

Your main (192.168.1.1) router you set up like normal, your second bridged or cascaded router you need to change the last number of the router IP (192.168.1.X) if you want all devices to be on the same network... If you want to have two networks you change the secon to last number of your secondary router IP (192.168.X.1)
The Default Gateway on your secondary needs to be the main router IP (192.168.1.1) and the Subnet Mask needs to be the same
Just follow the instructions to the letter

  • Xbox NAT problems - two xbox in same home

I have two xbox, one 360 and the other one xbox one, the 360 is wireless, the xbox one is wired connected, the xbox one always starts with moderate and when both consoles are on at the same time, the xbox one acts very slow.  I need someone to tell me which way will be best to set this up network wise, i want the ports to be distributed to both xbox when they are connected.  If the 360 is on first then it takes over the udp 3074 port and the xbox one can no longer use it.  One post here said to create a different distribution of ip's under the my network then connect one of the xbox on the other network, for example create one to go from 1 - 125 and i just picked 140 and add the ports by forwarding them to the 140, but when i try doing that it tells me that the wireless one, which is using ip in between 1 -125 is already using it.  any help please, i appreciated.

Just enable UPnP and let the router do the dirty work. When having more than one type of game console in a home on one connection, this is usually the recommended way of doing things.

  • Two Macs with same Home Folder name

    Hello,
We have a new iMac 27" to setup. I plan to use Migration Assistant to migrate files, apps, settings, etc. from our MacBook Pro 15" (OS 10.6.4). This will result in both computers having the same name for their Home Folder (the one with the house icon). Changing this name is not recommended so I don't intend to. However, will having the same name for both Mac Home Folders result in conflict problems when they are connected over our network, using target disk mode or other situations?
    Thanks.
    Mike

No, same usernames on different computers is absolutely fine. In fact, if you set them to have the same passwords, it's a little easier to share files between them.
One thing: If you use Migration Assistant pull over the network settings (or maybe it's just "settings", I forget) then both computers will also have the same name - one of them will rename itself computername(2), to make sure there is no confusion on the network. You can sort out the computer names yourself in the System Prefs/Sharing panel after.

  • Can I have two apple TV boxes in the same home / wifi area, ar there any issues i should be aware of?

can I have two apple TV boxes in the same home / wifi area, are there any issues i should be aware of?

I was in a hotel a few month a ago.  The hotel also had a portal page you have to sign in.  Of course the ATV didn't a web browser and could not sign in to the portal and connect to the Internet, so your iTunes didn't work.  (But your ATV should be connected to the router at that point already, just the portal won't open the port to pass through your ATV's traffic)
So what I did was to use AirVideo app on my iPad and AirVideo server on my Mac. Selected the movie on  my iPad using the AirVideo app and then selected my AirPlay device on my iPad to AppleTV.  Because this setup didn't require iTunes, so there was no need for a live Internet connection, and just a connection to the hotel router was enough.  It was very easy.
(Of course, you can subsititude the iPad with an iPhone here too)

  • Two user accounts using the same home folder

This may sound like a silly or goofy question, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to use two different user accounts, but with each using the same home folder?
I was wondering because there are many different settings I would like to use for different settings. Kind of like a "Spaces on Steroids." When I'm at school, I'd like to use one Network Settings, one desktop and icons, one Dock, etc. And when at home, a different set of each, but still using the same home folder.
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

    ZooCrewMan wrote:
So, I figured the easiest was would be seperate user accounts, "Home" "School" "Work" etc., and all have different settings, but still point to the same Home Folder.
The problem is, most of those settings are kept in the home folder.
You could probably do what Softwater suggests, with an AppleScript, or perhaps an Automator workflow, but it's not without some serious downsides.  You'd need one for each setup.
At least one complication would be, any change you wanted to make to each setup would have to be done to that script; you couldn't just drag something into (or out of) the Dock.
Another theoretical possiblility would be to have separate user accounts, but use the special Shared user folder for your data.  You'd have to select it as a souce or destination for each app you use, but many will remember that from use to use.
The complication would be permissions.  When you save a document there, the user that saved it is the owner, with read & write rights.  All other users have read-only rights, so could view and open them, but not update them.  You'd probably want to create one or more sub-folders in the Shared account (for various types of files), and you could probably set a Folder Action on each to grant read & write permissions to anything created in them.
Then you could set up the desired network location, Dock, and Desktop for each user account.

  • Use Different mailbox or same mailbox if setup two accepted domains in one Exchange Server 2010

    Hi,
I want to know if I setup two accepted domain in one Exchange Server 2010, will it have another mailbox or use same mailbox?

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, to add a new name in the accepted domain list is to add a SMTP address suffix for the mailboxes. Thus, it uses the same mailbox if you setup two accepted domain in one Exchange Server 2010.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

  • Extreme with shared disk and two users on same mac issue

    Hi,
just got my airport extreme + a 1TB hard drive for disk sharing and everything worked great until my wife came home (not her fault )
My setup:  I have 1 mac which we both share with two user accounts plus I have a Windows 7 machine. I setup the Airport Extreme drive sharing with 'accounts' as I thought/know this will work with Windows (smb I think) which it sure enough did and I could connect to my share from both my Windows machine and my macbook air and was rather pleased how easy it was.
My wife then came home logged on and she could see the drive and even see the root folder in Finder but saw no files whatsoever and instead of the 'sharing icon' (not sure what to call it looks like a hard disk with wifi signals) she gets a circle with a red bar in it in the finder title... so I disconnected the shared disk in finder and reconnected entering the account details again and things worked for her.  I then signed into my account and now I had the same issue... I could see disk but see nothing on it which means I have to disconnect and reconnect etc. etc.
I even setup two seperate accounts now in the AirPort Utility for disk sharing and use one for my account and one for my wifes but the issue remains, by the way no issue on the Windows 7 box.
HELP    the whole reason why I got this is so we can share our pictures and videos etc. on 2 machines and 2 computers with 2 accounts.

Yes, I'd like a solution to this one as well! Did you ever find the answer?

  • How could JNDI differentiate two ejb have same jndi name but on difference

how could JNDI differentiate two ejb have same jndi name but on difference server
    suppose that:
we have two J2EE Server those are Server1 and server2, and both of them have a ejb named Test deployed on it, and I need a java client maybe it is a java Application, servlet or ejb in server1 to get the reference to the ejb name Test, how to use JNDI to get the reference to both of them. those two ejb have same name but on difference server. how could the java client locate them?

You've hit problem #1 in the alleged scalability of EJB containers.
Basically, the whole setup assumes that you're only dealing with one naming service. The expectation is that a given name is bound to a single object, which in this case is the Home interface.
Some systems support clustering, which can allow you to get round this, but the details will depend on you EJB container vendor,
    Sylvia.

Yes you can set up homesharing on more than one library to be shared with other devices, just use the same homesharing ID and password on all of them.

  • Cannot Connect to Two 11g DBs - Same tnsnames.ora different Oracle_Home

We have two 11g databases on seperate Oracle Homes on the same server. The tnsnames.ora and listener.ora entries for db_2 were combined with those of db_1 in ...../db_1/network/admin. They are:
    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: /u01/app/oracle/product/db_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    DB1 =
    (DESCRIPTION =

    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = DB1)
    #DB2 =
    # (DESCRIPTION =
    # (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST=10.200.18.28)(PORT = 1521))
    # (CONNECT_DATA =

    # (SID_DESC =
    # (SID_NAME =DB2)
    # (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/DB2)
DB2 is commented out because we coulod not reach either database when it was not. Now we can each one or the other. We were getting
"ora_12514 TNS:listener could not resolve seervice name given in connect description."
The problem is that we need to reach each database when connected to the server from eithere the client or server.
I would appreciate any information, direct experience or pointers to documents.
    Thanks

You shouldn't need either DB1 or DB2 listed in your listener.ora file. They should automatically register with the listener if it is running on the default port (which yours is).
If you do want to statically register the instances, the syntax you have in your original post is a little wrong. It should be:
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1)
    (SID_NAME = DB1)
    (SID_DESC =
    (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_2)
    (SID_NAME = DB2)
All in one variable, not two. Also, the home paths you had in your post were missing the _.
All that said, it seems to be much preferred to let the instance register itself. If you try the following, does the instance register?
    * remove the SID_LIST_LISTENER configuration for DB1
    * restart the listener
    * connect to DB1 as someone with the DBA role and execute 'alter system register;'
    * check the listener with 'lsnrctl status listener' and see whether the instance registered.
You should see something like: (notice 'READY' instead of 'UNKNOWN')
Instance "DB1", status READY, has 1 handler(s) for this service...

  • Installaing IAS 9i in the same Home of 8iR3

    Hello all,
Is there anyone that tried to install IAS 9i in the same home of 8iR3 EE ??
What kind of problems would I have if I do it ?
    Thanks
    null

    Why ??
I have done it and it seems to work perfectly! I installed IAS 9i Http Server Only (with portal) in the same home of 8iR3 EE. I have noticed that there is a lot of common things between the two homes. So When I installed IAS, he recognized them and installed only the web server and all Portal components. What is then the reason no to do this kind of installation ?

Fist of all is such setup possible?
Any idea why I get this error and what else I need to change in the configuration for the second cluster?
    greetings Georgi

    Hi,
Now it works for me. I think I was setting the WKA on too many places as the documention of the application I have is a little bit confusing.
First I have posted the WKA with java.property as it was specified in the documentation of my application to set them in the script that starts it. I have removed them from the script and used only the xml file to configure coherence.
I am not using the override file but rather change the WKA configuration in the jar file itself. For the real enviornment and not my laptop I will use it.
Also there were two coherence.jar files in my class path and the first one was common for the both clusters and the second one was different for each cluster. In this second one I was changeing tangosol-coherence.xml the logs were showing that the configuration loaded from and also in the classpath this second was before the other one . Maybe I was wrong so I have removed the first coherence.jar that was common.
Maybe the combination of those two things were the problem but now it works. Thanks for your comments.
    greetings Georgi
