Setup Wizard does not exist on my 8700v... where is it hidden?!

I have bought a second hand BB, previously on vodafone, currently on O2.  The getting started guide assumes I can find the setup wizard instantly.  Not only does it not appear automatically it is not in settings or any other place I have looked.  The front convenience button does not do anything, so doesn't help either.  I haven't set up anything on the phone, other than the time and registering it on the wireless network... setup wizard is the first port of call but can't get to it.  Any ideas??

Hi there,
It is possible that the previous user removed it (there are ways to do this) and then simply wiped the device before passing it on to you.
If you need it, you can reload the OS using the steps located here:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Or, you should be able to do everything without needing access to the Setup Wizard at all.  For example, all connection settings can be managed through Manage Connections app, keyboard settings and convenience key settings can be managed in the Options, and so on.
If you want to reload the OS though, you can use the steps located in the above link.  The only catch is that you'll want to make sure you're using the OS for the original carrier (branded to Vodafone).
I hope this info helps!
If you want to thank someone for their comment, do so by clicking the Thumbs Up icon.
If your issue is resolved, don't forget to click the Solution button on the resolution!

  • The Setup Wizard does not locate my G-Range Expander. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have encountered a problem. Can anyone help?
Today I purchased the Linksys Range Expander to boost my wireless internet signal (I currently am a verizon fios internet user). I used the CD that came in the package and plugged the expander into an outlet. First, the CD Setup Wizard prompts me to choose the internet signal to be expanded. I find my signal on the list, click it, and wait for the Wizard to "locate the G-Range Expander". After a few seconds, a box comes up on the screen reading "Wireless G-Range Expander not found. Make sure the expander is plugged in". I have reset the range expander and plugged it back in multiple times; however, nothing seems to help the wizard locate the expander (even though I am sitting very close to it). When I click on "find available internet signals" on my laptop, the linksys signal appears, even though the wizard does not find it but it is not usable.
Please help the wizard locate my expander.  Thanks so much!!

If you are trying to configure your WRE using the setup disk, you can exit from the setup and configure all the settings on your Router Manually...Follow the steps bellow.
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your Expander, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...
    1. Connect your Expander to a computer, click on the Start button >>> Settings >>> Control Panel >>> Network Connections - Right click on the icon for Local area connection and go to properties- On the 'General' tab select 'Internet Protocol TCP/IP' and click on the Properties button- Select 'Use the following IP address'-
Provide IP Address - 192.168.1.5, Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0...Click on OK button to Save and Click on "Close" on main Properties window...
    2. Now open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.240. Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...It should open your
    Expander set-up...
    3. Once you get to the set-up page you can follow this link to change the Expander Settings...
NOTE : The link also explains to check the Wireless Settings on your Router...
    4. While changing the Expander settings you have to make sure that the Wireless Settings(SSID/Network Name and WEP/WPA Key) are identical on both the devices(Router and Expander)...Also make sure to change the Expander's default IP to match your network and Gateway Address should be your Router's address...ex. Expander's IP Address : 192.168.1.240(assuming your router's default IP Address is 192.168.1.1), Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1...
    5. After configuring the Expander you should disconnect it from the Computer and go into Local Area Connection TCP/IP Properties and set it back to Obtain IP Address Automatically...Disconnect the Expander from the computer and power cycle both the devices(Expander and Router)...Your Expander should be configured...
In case if you don't get the Expander set-up just leave it connected to your computer and reset it for 30 seconds and follow Step 2, Step 3, Step 4 & Step 5...
    Hope this helps.

  • I uninstalled Firefox and now a setup wizard does not start when I re-download. 64 bit Windows 7

My java stopped working, I reinstalled..Firefox still didn't recognize my java....I decided to reinstall Firefox and now when I download, Firefox will not open it's set up wizard it just extracts data and stops....grrrrrrrrr I run Windows 7 64bit Operating system

    Sorry you are having problems.
Could it possibly be any security related software that is preventing this ?
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installing_Firefox#Windows
Make sure that you have an official copy of Firefox. Do a clean install BUT make sure you do not use any offer to remove personal data or you will destroy bookmarks and settings. If you have problems try to give the exact error messages so paste them into your reply of attach screen shots.
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #'''Windows:'''
    #*C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #*C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These are difficult to recover unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Lets get Firefox installed then deal with any Java problem.

  • 0SD_C03 cube contains data that does not exist  in PSA

    Hi,
We have a problem with data difference in cube and PSA. Firstly we deleted PSA extactly then extracted data from r3 to PSA. PSA has 2 records now. Then we extracted data to cube (0SD_C03) via DTP (using 2LIS_13_VDITM transformation rules). However, the cube contains approximately 300 000 data. Cube contains many records that does not exist in PSA.
    Where these data come from?
    thanks in advance,

    Hi,
In your PSA overview, did you change the date that limits the PSA packages showing?
(middle top of screen) and click refresh?
it might be that you only have deleted the PSA from a certain date onwards.
    Success,
    Udo

  • Account name  "domain/user" does not exist.

    Hi All,
I am trying to install netweaver developer studio. The installation stops immediately after starting with the eror message Account name  "mydomain/user" does not exist.
Any clue,where/why it is checking my domain and user in the installation.
    Thanks
    Bikram

My domain/user account (does not exist) was a little more complicated.
I'm trying to install it on a work laptop and here is what I have found out, hopefully it will help others.
The installation process validates the user on the domain.  (once I connected to my work network, things started moving forward).
Second issue, was the administrative rights for my username.  I had to make sure my user had the rights to install, added that user to the Admin group, and make sure the Admin group wasn't in debug mode.  (In my case, it was in debug mode, a remant of the IT organization reinstalling something for me.)
Third issue, was two users were suppose to be created to help administer the J2EE server and during the installation process you will be prompted for two passwords.  Please keep in mind, if you are on your work domain and trying to install, the password policy used by the organization are actually upheld.  You must create a password that will be accepted by your company.  (I didn't realize this until I tried to create the same users outside of the installation and I an error message was returned with more of a description that made sense.)
After all of that, I was able to install SAP Netweaver.  Well, at least it said, "Congratulations" and it completed.  I've yet to be able to access portal.  That is my next bug to tackle.

The following solution may work for u.
You may receive the above error message if BusinessObjects Enterprise tries to access  database after the associated RSS file has been deleted or corrupted. You need to replace the deleted or corrupted RSS file with a clean copy of the file, either from another BusinessObjects Enterprise installation

  • CIF Error: Setup group/key 10000427 does not exist

    Dear CIF-Specialists,
We observed a problem on the integration between APO and R/3.
If we want to send PPM's from R/3 to APO we have the following error-message: "Setup group/key 10000427 does not exist".
Transaction CFM1 (Create Integration Modell) ==> No problem
Transaction CFM2 (Activate Integration Modell) ==> Error!
We don't use setup groups or keys in our operations but we have created the setup keys in APO and R/3 (Transaction: /SAPAPO/CDPSC6 and OP43).
As we don't have keys in the PPM's it is normal that they don't exists.
Do you have an idea where we have to set theses Setup keys?
Can you give us an indication how we could resolve this problem?
    Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Dear Sharath,
    Thank you for your reply.
We dont't have setup key or group maintained in this receipt. This is the strange part on this problem.
Why does it search for a setup key if we don't want to transfer it?
I checked also the setup-keys in APO and R/3 and they are the same.
We did a copy of the test-system (where the problem occurs) some days ago. Is there a table in APO where it could have some old entries about this?
    Thank you for your help.

  • SQL Server Browser service group does not exists. Check for earlier failures in the setup. during sql express 2008 R2 setup

    Hello,
I have an issue while installing SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. When I was installing SQL Server, I occurred an error message as shown in the figure.
I have followed couple of links as in
    this and
this links but it did not fix the issue. Can anyone help me on this issue?
    Regards
    Gaurav

    Hi gauravroondhe2306,
According to your description, you fail to install SQL Server 2008 R2 express with the error that SQL Server Browser service group does not exist. Please help to post SQL Server setup error log for analysis. By default, SQL Server setup summary and detail
    logs are located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Based on my research, this issue could occur when you install SQL Server on a Domain Controller, or the machine's name has been changed and the browser service group is named with the original machine's name.
To troubleshoot the issue, you could follow the solutions below.
1.Use SQL Server 2008 R2 Best Practice Analyzer to detect if SQL Server is installed on a domain controller. If SQL Server is installed on a domain controller, please demote your machine from being a domain controller and install the SQL Server again since
it is not recommended to install SQL Server on a domain controller.
2.Check if the name of local user group matches the machine's current name. If it doesn't match, please change the name of the local user group accordingly, and install SQL Server again. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:

  • Setup solution database - "2007 index does not exist"

    Hi all,
after setting up the solution database following the Implementation Guide on a Solution Manager 7 SP 19 system, I created some test problem and solution articles and linked them.
When I try to do now a full compilation for the first time via SAF Diagnosis, Goto > Indexes, then the error message "2007 - index does not exist" comes up.
So, I checked the customizing and did the customizing again. I assigned the Knowledge Base SDB to a higher level than its sub knowleged bases SDB Problems, SDB Solutions like this:
    SDB
    - SDBATTACHEMENT
    - SDBICS
    - SDB PROBLEMS
    - SDB SOLUTIONS
         - SDB SOLUTIONS DOC
    Anyway, the same error message
I checked some threads but it didn´t help so far.

    Did anyone solved this issue?
How can I activate the index?
Any hints/ ideas are highly appreciated.

Hi guys, just to get the thread up.. quite important.
Is there anyone who can share some ideas?

  • User SYSTEM does not exist

    Hi there,
    Using the MDK:
-I have set up my publication items
    -added them to my publication
-used the packaging wizard to setup my application and attach it to the publication
-used the Oracle Mobile administrator to create a user.
-used the Oracle Mobile administrator to assign the user to the application.
On Win32, I download the WIN32 Setup and run it with the user and password.
It sets up the DMAgent, etc, and installs all of the oracle lite stuff into c:\mobileclient
Next, I run MSYNC.EXE with the user's name. It completes successfully. What happens next is very strange:
    C:\Documents and Settings\allen>msql system/moogle@polite:tenchi_pman

  • Common2_2_24_5.js does not exist

    HI.
After having a few patches as part of CPU 2010, the front page is displayed but a small "Error On Page" triangle is displayed at the bottom left hand corner.
    The Apache error log states:
    File does not exist:
    d:/oracle/testscomn/html/cabo/jslibs/common2_2_24_5.js
I have tried a Metalink search but still nothing, so I thought I would try you experts, here.

  • File does not exist on remote site, yet it does

I have been trying to understand how Dreamweaver handles remote files in CS5.
My server is setup as a remote server and a test server.
I open the remote file, it offers to get dependencies, so I click yes.
I click on Live view, then it tries to show me the following url
    http://my_site.com/public_html/path/to/my/file/file.php
It should not put public_html in the path, and I did not specify this in my site setup. My root setting is /.
Anyway, If I change the url manually, then it shows correctly. Then it offers to discover dunamically linked files, which I agree to.
Now it tells me that 'Dynamically-related files could not be resolved because the site definition is not correct for this server'
If I try to open one of the files that it has discovered, I am told that it is not on the disk, so would I like to 'get it', so I agree.
Finally, I am told that 'Get operation failed since linked-file.php does not exist on remote site'
I suspect that this is all to do with my site definition, but I fiddled with the settings and can't resolve this. I think that the whole problem goes back to Dreamweaver's insistance on putting public_html in the path, but I can't stop it doing so.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    ian

    Hi,
Well, yes I did manage to fix the dynamically linked resources issue. As mentioned above, I did need to mention public_html in my Root Directory setting in server setup (silly of me).
I had tried this at first, but it didn't work, as I had the server set as a test server and not a remote server, anyway, i now have it set as both and all is well.
Except that, the first issue that mentioned is still with me: namely, dreamweaver mentions the public_html in the url path when on live view, which is not correct and I don't know where it is inferring this from. I can change it manually, but this doesn't seem right to me. Am I still missing a setting?
    In anwer to the questions:
    1) My setting (now) in the Root Directory setting in DW is: /public_html/
    2) My actual path on the server (that i mention in php scripts) is: /home/login_name/public_html//path/to/my/file/file.php
[In the advanced settings of DW site setup on the Local Info page I have set Links relative to Document option, although it does not seem to make a difference when I change it to Site Root.]
    Any suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ian

  • Windows Vista - iPod Nano charges, setup wizard will not start

    Help!
I have a new PC, and it's Windows Vista.
I have connected my iPod, and it has charged up, but the setup wizard has not come on?
How do I save music to my iPod? My PC recognises it as an iPOD, and I can drag and drop things into it as though it is a storage device. However, my iPod does not recognise this music or photo's when I turn it on and try to play stuff? There are no instructions in the box. It's brand new from argos! Never had one before, so don't know what to do.
    Please help.

    Sorry you are having problems.
Could it possibly be any security related software that is preventing this ?
