Setup wizard for WRVS4400N on Mac

Hi,
I'm trying to get the setup wizard for this modem on my Mac.  When I download it, there are files, but none of them open up a setup wizard.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. York,
Currently there is no wizard for the mac.
The only way to setup with a Mac is manually.

    Hello, BAHannebaum.
The article below should resolve any device not being recognized in iTunes issue that you are experiencing.  The most common issues are the Apple Mobile Device Support driver or iTunes is outdated.  Start with the first step and test the results after each step processed.

  • Problems with the Setup Wizard for WRT54GC

    Hi…
I just bought a WRT54GC router and while trying to install it I had some problems.
I opened the Setup Wizard on the CD to install the router.
When I reach step 6 the internet connection is being checked with the following result: “Unable to detect the internet connection. Please check your cable connections”.
I’ve checked all the cables and everything is okay – I’m also able to access the internet which shows me that all cables are correctly connected.
So why do I get this message?
What do I have to do?
The problem is that I’m not able to continue the Setup Wizard further than step 6.
    Thanks!

well..if you have an internet connection through the router and the CD setup shows “Unable to detect the internet connection. Please check your cable connections”. I would recommend you to neglect it....discard the CD and configure the router manually
you can access the router from the wired computer using http://192.168.1.1 .. the default password is admin

  • Can't get pass "Internet connection" on Setup wizard for new Linksys WRT54g router

    Hello everyone.
Well, I just bought (today) a Linksys WRT54G wirelss router and wile going through the Setup portion of the wizard (part of the installation of the EasyLink Advisor application), after I connect all the cables (in proper order) it tries to establish an Internet connection but comes back saying that no Internet connection is present. I tried powering off and umplugging the Verizon Westell modem I have but it still says the same thing.  I even tried to get the set up completed with two other verizon modems I have but just can't get pass checking for Internet connection.
My ISP is Verizon and I use just a regular DSL connection using a Westell VersaLink model 327W.
Is there anything I need to do to get this going?  I mean, the set up CD shows how to hook up the cables and everything so it really is not that hard but right after the "hook up the cable" portion it check for an Internet connection and that's were I get stuck.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Your problem is that the Westel "modem" is actually a "modem-router", and it uses the same 192.168.1.x  address space as the WRT54G.
The ideal solution is to place the Westell into "bridge" mode.  This will convert it to a true modem (all router features are turned off).   I assume you are using PPPoE  (if this is not correct, please let me know).   If so, then you will need to setup the WRT54G to do your PPPoE login, when the Westell is set to bridge mode.  Also note that you must first disconnect the Westell from the WRT54G and from the Internet, before you attempt to place the Westell into bridge mode.
An alternate solution is to leave the Westell as is, disconnect it from the WRT54G, then login to the WRT54G and change the "Local IP address" to 192.168.2.1 , then reconnect your system.  In this case, the Westell will do your PPPoE login, and the WRT54G will be set to "Internet connection type" of "DHCP - automatic".  If all you do is browse the web, do some emails, and basic stuff, this setup will probably work OK.  If you are planning more complicated stuff (Internet gaming with port forwarding, video conferencing, etc.)  then be sure to use the "bridge" mode described above.

  • Setup wizard for wrt54gc router

    Hello,
this is my second question about this matter. I lost the installation CD of this router and Linksys downloads doesn't give the complete content of this CD. This means that that I can't define the parameter of my ISP and I can't succeed of having an internet connection with my computer through the router and the modem (diagnostic is bad cable connection but I suppose that the problem is other one: protocols, etc.) My question is how can I get this installation CD in internet. Do you have any hint of how to get it?
    Many thanks.
    Regards
    Limas

    Thanks for your care.
The situation is the same: I couldn't connect the router to the internet through a Thompson modem. I have correct access to internet directly through the modem but not thru the couple modem-router.
Today I call my isp to get information about the internet protocol and get the username and password. The internet model used is PPPoE. So, I modified router setup (basic setup) to fit this 'protocol' and used the  given username and password and trusted that things were solved. But no, I keep getting an error. isp techniciens told me to select the automatic connection link but the result was the same. It seems that Linksys routers and not easy to instal... There is no dialog for helping the installation procedure.
I wonder about the net protocols between the modem and the router: as I am connected to the modem and the modem is connected to isp internet the modem receive PPPoE protocol but what is the protocol between the modem and the router? Is it the same?
ist delivers DSL internet services. The router IP address is automatically set. Most ip addresses are set automatically. I would like to send the information set on the windows setup but I do not master this forum interface to do it.

OK, that is a good thing to want.  What operating system?  What router?  What error messages have you gotten?  Has it ever worked?

  • Diagnostics System: Managed System Setup Wizard

    Hi there!
I have installed the Host Agent and Diagnostic Agent on a test-system successfully. Now I have tried to start the Setup Wizard for managed systems (http://<hostname>:port/smd). The system collection was no problem, but the Setup Parameters. If I choose the directories of the "System Install Path",  the "Instance Path" and also the "Instance Number" the following Message appears: "No Diagnostics Agent available at this time Please install or start an SMD Agent for <hostname>".
I don't know the reason, because the Diagnostic Agent is running and I think my parameters will be okay:
    System Install Path: usr/sap/DAA/
    Instance Path: usr/sap/DAA/SMDA97/
    Instance Numer: 97
    Is there a failure?
I look forward to your reply!
    Best reagrds,

(detail: CIM_ERR_FAILED: Cannot find SAP_BCCentralServiceInstance of SAP_J2EEEngineCluster SAP_J2EEEngineCluster.CreationClassName="SAP_J2EEEngineCluster",Name="<hostname>" in SLD LR)
I think it is the reason for my problems .. Can anybody help me?

  • SMD Agent Configuration Wizard for CI and DB host

Hi, I have to config the CI host in /smd > managed systems > setup wizard. But what is with my agends from other hosts then CI like DB host? Do I have to do somthing else with the Agents from this hosts? At the moment this agens have the status <no server name>  in smd/go/ADMIN_AGENT

    Hello,
After you connect the agents to the Solution Manager they will appear as No Server Name in Agent Administration.
Run the setup wizard for the managed system, select the agent before processing further. This will assign the agent to a server name.
    Best regards,
    Guilherme

  • I'm having trouble installing Firefox version 6.0.1 The setup wizard is telling me to close Firefox before it can go any further after I've chosen the standard setup. I closed Firefox and clicked the NEXT button again and it tells me the same thing.

I've already tried re-downloading the setup wizard for Firefox 6.0.1 again and re-running it, but I still have the same problem as before.

Flash Player Protected Mode provides a modern, sophisticated set of security protections that we see as critical in today's security landscape.
We highly recommend that users not disable ProtectedMode.  Also, it's worth noting that by manually changing your mms.cfg, you have opted out of Protected Mode for all future versions of Flash Player, as we will continue to honor that preference. This puts your system at risk, and that risk will continue to grow over time.
Ultimately, this is an issue with the RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in.  There is a more technical explanation in the Mozilla bug referenced above in the thread, but the simplified version is that the security enhancements designed to prevent the introduction of malware via Flash Player make RealPlayer Browser Record plug-in no longer compatible with Flash Player for Firefox.  You can disable the record functionality to eliminate this issue, while retaining the ability to view both Flash and Real Player content.
To disable the Real Player Browser Record functionality while maintaining the enhanced security provided by Flash Player with Protected Mode, do the following:
        Launch RealPlayer
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner of the window, and choose Preferences
Choose Download & Recording from the left-hand menu
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browser"
        Click OK

  • How to setup QoS for IP/Mac Address WRVS4400N

I need some help setting up QoS for two Cisco/Linksys devivces on my network.
Network devices are Comcast SB6120 modem into WRVS4400n (v2.0.2.1 firmware) that divides into one 24 port gigabit Netgear unmanaged switch, 1 port into AT&T Cisco Microcell, 1 port to HP Officejet 7700 wired printer.  Unmanaged switch has approx 10 devices attached (including another 8 port unmanaged gigabit switch).  3 static leases are defined for the network for three devices (HP OJ 7700 printer, Cisco/Linksys PAP2 VOIP adapter, windows home server v1.  DHCP is handled by WRVS4400n.  Comcast service provides 12mbps of service upstream, 4mbps downstream.
Need to setup QoS for AT&T Microcell and PAP2 VOIP adapter.  The real issue that I can't figure out how to configure is IP based priority access.  I can do rate control for an IP address but can't figure out how to specify priority control for an IP.
Here are my the current config questions:
    1.  Bandwidth management page:  For the microcell device plugged into port 1, do i set the default CoS to 4 or 1?
    2.  Bandwidth management page:  Should the bandwidth management type be set to priority?  I assume yes since I need to define the UDP/TCP ports for priority.  The major issues here are
    a) one of the ports the Microcell uses is secure https (TCP 443) which is could also be used by any other internet device.
    b) can't specify priority for the PAP2, since it's behind the unmanaged 24 port switch
    3.  QoS setup page:  Do I need just 2 queues (one for the port ID for the Microcell and one for the IP address of the Linksys adapter)?
    4.  QoS setup page:  I assume I need to define DSCP for the unmanaged switch but not sure how to tie a queue to an IP address
    4.  QoS setup page:  Shoud priority 0 be set for the most important queue (microcell) and the priority 1 CoS be for the VOIP adapter?  Again, not sure about how to define priority by IP address.
    5.  DSCP setup page:  As far as I can find, there's no documentation on how to setup this page.

That's what I do. I keep it simple, one calendar, one set of contacts.
iCloud is really the simplest way to go, as it will sync your (eventual) single Contacts and Calendar across all your devices.
    I would:
Figure out which single calendar (in Calendar.app) and contacts (in Contacts.app) that you want to keep.
I'd make a backup of each one. For example,
in Contacts, File > Export... > Contacts Archive...
in Calendar, File > Export... > Calendar Archive...
Make a backup of the other calendar events and contacts that you want to save.
delete all the contacts and calendars from your phones and your iPad.
add the contacts and events from the backups to the single calendar in Calendar.app and your contacts in Contacts.app on your iMac. There is probably some way to export the contacts and events you are adding, and then combine them, but you could also just add them manually.
Then when you configure all your devices for iCloud, they will be all synced automatically.

  • At setup wizard keeps asking me for password.....

At the setup wizard it keeps asking me for password. i have my internet connect to the router and iam able to get online from my comp. My issue is the password window i put my on password and it goes to checking computer settings and comes back to password and  i retype my password and samething.
    Please help Thanks

Yep, I had the same thing happening. Save settings at a certain spot, and it asks for a login/pass. The solution for me was to turn off my Norton Security entirely for a few minutes to change router settings. Now the Mac laptop and Nintendo DS all connect wireless.

  • Best setup for a non-Mac file server?

I have a dual xeon server, with a SATA RAID5 I want to use as a file server in a cross-platform environment.
*What I've tried and the issues...*
At first I considered using Windows 2003 (Win2k3) but Services for Macintosh (SFM) is an older version of AFP and thus only supports 31 character filenames. With all our Macs supporting SMB/Samba/CIFS and Apple touting that "Macs and PCs can co-exist harmoniously on the same network" I figured I would give that a try.
    SMB doesn't work.
Sure I can create a connection, but transferring files is a completely different story. I'm trying to backup application and system data, but companies such as Adobe and Apple have named some of their files with special characters that can't be transferred over SMB. I know NTFS doesn't support these characters, but I though a Linux box using SMB would work fine. It doesn't. It's the protocol which keeps me from transferring the data. I end up with the lovely error message of "You cannot copy some of these items to the destination because their names are too long or contain invalid characters for the destination..." (what's sad is, if you google for " because their names are too long or contain invalid characters for the destination" you only get 6 results.)
So I thought I would give NFS a try. Apple says "Viewed from Mac OS X, [connecting via NFS] is just like connecting to an Apple or Windows server." No. It's not. NFS shares don't even show up in the Finder's Network listing. There are also a pile of other hurdles which are only tackled by savvy, command-line using users.
So that leaves me with AFP. Win2k3 doesn't support filenames longer than 31 characters, and Win2k8 is dropping SFM altogether. Off to choose a *nix flavor, but that requires Netatalk. It hasn't been updated in years, it has many bad performance reviews... and most distros have removed it. I can download and install it. Oh, but that requires I get the kernel source files. Then I have to create an RPM an that's not working... now I'm several levels deep in trying to figure out how to get Netatalk working and I'm not even sure it will work.
*What's the best setup for a non-Mac file server?*
FreeNAS seems promising, but it's in alpha/beta and they have all sorts of warnings regarding potential data loss. Sure there's ExtremeZ-IP, but I really don't want to spend $675 do something Apple claims OS X can already do. I can put just about any non-Mac OS on this thing... what's the best way to set it up so it works?
    Thanks much.

Rick may be right because although i didnt think of it before i tend to have notoriuosly long classnames for my php classes and i have used samba on occasion (when rsync is out of the question for one reason or another) and never had a problem. I use kubuntu (feisty at the moment )with an ext3 filesystem. if i have a chance this evening ill give it a try and see what happens.
You could also possibly use FUSE to use an ssh filesystem for the shares... i don tknow how that would figure in your back up though.
Also if worse comes to worse you could tar or dmg the the necessary files... just some thoughts.
Ill be interested to know what you end up implementing....
OH one last thought... Compile Darwin from source and use that as your server
