can anyon eexplain the pin configuration in sevensegment led.

Hi anilkun,
in the linked example you see that picture. It shows all the needed wires to connect Arduino with 7segment LED.
What else do you need?

  • 24" LED display with MacBook Pro & DVI output

    Simple question. Just bought the 24" LED display. then learned that it won't connect to my 18 month old PacBook Pro out of the box. People have suggested many scenarios for solving this seemingly simple problem, but the two leading threads are in conflict.
    Some say i need a complete adapter box. others say i can make the connection with a simple MDP-to-DVI connector.
    Need more recommendations please. Thanks to all

    The simple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapters are for connecting DVI displays to Mini DisplayPort computers. To connect a Mini DisplayPort display to a DVI computer you need a converter

  • Using New Apple 27" LED Display with old MacBook Pro (Late 2006) 15"

    I've got a MacBook Pro (Model # A1211) Core2Duo 15" 2.16 GHz with only 128 MB of VRAM and a built-in DVI port (I think it is dual-link DVI)
    My question is, will the new 27" LED Display work with this machine at its best resolution? If so, what adapter would I need to get it to work?
    Thanks!

    I don't think the Kanex adapter is the best one to purchase. The information on their website says it will only drive the 27" at 1280 x 720. Although I have not purchased one yet, the ATLONA website http://www.atlona.com/Atlona-Dual-Link-DVI-to-Mini-DisplayPort-Converter-USB-Pow ered.html, claims their Atlona AT-DP400 converter will drive the 27" at its highest resolution of 2560 x 1440. I have read confirmation from some users that this is the case for the DP400.

  • Synchronous LED display with digital output

    hi,
    In the experiment I want to control a relay, so I use the MAX to generate a digital output task and then transfer it to example code in labview as below. How can I amend  this code so that when the module ouput 1 there is a synchronous LED display on the front board.
    Thanks~~~

    Use single sample digital writes inside your loop.  Use a shift register to hold the state (T or F) and invert each iteration.  Now you can just wire the state wire to a front panel led and be sure that it is sync'd to the digital output.

  • New iPad with retina display with 30 pin connector mirroring to TV with dvi adapter problems after software update

    Hi. Good day to everyone my New iPad with retina display 30 pin connector will not mirror to TV even with divi adapter after software update. Adapter works fine. Or is it a software glitch with IOS 7.04? I've tried resetting and reconnecting nothing seems to work.

    That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
    So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
    But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

  • 27" LED Display with power issues

    I have had some peculiar issues with my ACD since I received it about a month and a half ago. I use it with my new i7 iMac. Specifically, the issue is with the power supply inside the unit (I think). One night about a month ago, I heard a "pop" from behind the ACD, and it went black. I knew that the unit itself was fully powered down as I could get nothing from any of the USB ports (such as charging of my iPod). I swapped power cables with my iMac, and the iMac powered on just fine, so I ruled that out. I then left the unit unplugged, boxed it up, and took it to the Apple Store the day after. To my surprise, it powered up just fine when I got there. Sure enough, it worked again when I brought it back home.
    Now, just last night, I switched off the breaker panel to the circuit that had the ACD on it to change a light fixture. When I turned it back on, I powered back up my iMac...and the ACD did not turn on. Same thing: all ports dead, no power at all. Left it unplugged for 2 hours...no results. Then, I left it unplugged over the entire night. When I woke up, plugged it back in , and now it works again.
    It seems as if the longer amount of time allows the power supply inside to "reset" somehow or something, but I am at a loss as to if this is some sort of true defect, or a flaw in design. Even the instruction manual recommends leaving the unit unplugged for a while if it fails to power on.
    Anyone have similar issues? Anyone able to help me figure out what is going on?

    What I do when I have issues that can be tough to replicate is record them with my phone, take the unit to the store, and if it doesn't happen, show them the video.

  • Cannot build Installer with NI-DAQmx Configuration Support 9.6.1

    Running labview 2011 SP1 f2

    Things tried:
    Updated just about all NI software
    repaired Labview, device drivers, OPC and DSC as individuals.
    Running out of options, its something specific to my machiene, other developers can build this given the same setup.

    NI Build Error.docx ‏79 KB

    -          The following are possible reasons and solutions for this error:
    #1. Installer specifications file is corrupted.  For example, an old version of an installer specifications file could have been copied into the project.
    -Go to Tools>>Advanced>>Mass Compile and mass compile the directory where the error is located.  Mass compiling is necessary for VI compatibility with a particular version of LabVIEW.  If this does not work then delete the saved installer settings from the project window and create a new one with the same settings.
    #2. Additional installer components have been overwritten
    -Referring to the knowledge base Why do I get a Missing Distribution Error when trying to build an installer from LV 8.0, an installer build always refers to the original installer source.  For example, if you are using the NI-DAQmx driver (with additional component MAX 4.0) and later install Measurement Studio (With additional component MAX 4.1) this will cause an error because the installer is still referring to MAX 4.0.  Point the installer to the original content on the driver-cd or the hard drive.
    #3. Installing drivers before you installed LabVIEW or Updating your drivers
    -The same driver and LabVIEW version, which the VI was written in, must be used to build a functioning installer.  If an upgrade has occurred then make sure to include updated versions of the run time engine and driver.  The driver and LabVIEW versions can be upgraded , in which case you can include the updated version of the driver and run time engine when you try to include additional installers.  Make sure that the driver is properly installed for the specified version of LabVIEW in order to upgrade code for new drivers and software.  Make a back up of your current project for reference.  Open the project in the specified version of LabVIEW and go to Tools>>Advanced>>Mass Compile and mass compile your code

  • How to get the configuration of a bank (not with FP get configuration info)?

    Hi everybody!
        I need my fieldPoint application to be able to check
    for the filedpoint structure, that is I want my application
    to return the number of FP nodes, and for each node how many FP IO modules are connected, and of which
    type.
       I'd like not to use "FP get configuration info",
    which is based on locating the .iak file.  I have my .iak file
    correctly generated, but I do not want to use it.
       At the end, I'd like to have a variable configuration, and when I change module order and number, I don't want
    to re-generate a .iak file, (because I don't want to use MAX... ).
       Should I query my modules until I reach an error?......
    graziano

    First of all, thanks, Khalid!
       I want to use the COM port. I gave a look to the "Find
    FP-100x example", based on optomux commands, and I found it very
    interesting, to my purpose. But I have some questions about it.
       First of all, in the example I have to provide explicitly
    an address (the fp1001 address, 0x0 for me), so I should build a loop,
    in which I scan all possible addresses (that is 0, 10, 20,... ) which
    generate many errors, in normal conditions.
        After this, in the example I get a Module ID, which is:
       FP1001 -----> ID: 2
       FP-DI-301 --> ID 105
       FP-DO-401 --> ID 106
       FP-DI-301 --> ID 105
       FP-DO-401 --> ID 106.
       The list actually matches the order of my FP chain, but
    I'd like to know if  these IDs are given to the modules when
    they're configured for the first time in MAX, or are set in HW?
       Thanks!

  • WRT54GS Wireless Router, Port Forwarding, LED Display

    Hello everyone.  I'm using a Linksys router on a network like this:
    I have comcast cable internet using the motorola cable modem that is supplied by them.  This is connected to my Linksys WRT54GS which is then connected to my desktop PC and laptop as well as a Troy500 print server.
    The Troy500 print server is connected to an LED display with a serial cable.  The desktop PC has a logitech webcam on it.
    I was able to setup the webcam to be viewed online, I had to use the web configurator in the router to forward ports 8000 and 8080 to the desktop PC which has a local IP address of 192.168.1.2.  This works fine.
    My Laptop has an address of 192.168.1.3 and I am able to LOCALLY communicate to the Troy and display items on the LED using the laptop AND my desktop.  BUT when I forward ANY outside port to the Troy to try and get this to work remotely through the router I get a communication error.
    Someone suggested that Comcast may be filtering various ports so I tried over 10 different port numbers and still get the same error.
    I then tried to get help from a tech guy I know from florida and he was unable to get to the router through the remote management feature, we used port 9000, 7000, and port 9999, nothing worked to get him in.  ALSO he was unable to ping my outside IP.
    BUT I am able to get online, and I'm able to see all the devices on the router, AND he's able to see the webcam which is using ports 8000 and 8080 to communicate outside.
    Any suggestions?
    Oh, ALSO, nothing on this network is wireless except for the laptop, and this functions just the same when I plug CAT5 into it, it makes no difference.
    Message Edited by Matusky on 09-11-2007 02:16 PM

    first off , make sure that the router has the latest firmware...on the router ui , under the "security" tab , disable "block anonymous internet request" ... check whether these changes make any difference....

  • Seven segment Display

    Hi,
    My project is to do with a petrol pump and the simulation of it.
    My problem is that i need to create a seven segment display in an interface containing Jbuttons that when pressed will run methods.
    I have the Jbuttons created and there should be(which there currently isnt) a counter shown next to the button for the following method in the Jframe
    public void StartSqueezing()
    NozzleReady=false;
    NozzleInUse=true;
    NozzleNotInUse=false;
    do{
    if( LitresDispensedPerTransaction < PetrolLimit)
    LitresDispensedPerTransaction = (LitresDispensedPerTransaction + 0.10);
    try {
    Thread.sleep(1000) ;
    //1000 millisecs
    catch(InterruptedException ex) {
    while (NozzleInUse = true );
    I also have this further down- getPrice is just another method in the code.
    private void makeFrame()
    frame = new JFrame("Peter Pump");
    Container contentPane = frame.getContentPane();
    contentPane.setLayout(new GridLayout(3, 2));
    JButton getPrice = new JButton ("getPrice");
    contentPane.add(getPrice);
    getPrice.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { getPrice(); }
    I need a seven segment display that will count up the number of litres of fuel dispensed when the Jbutton representing the above "StartSqueezing" method is pressed. The counter should move up by 0.1 each time.
    I am by no means asking anybody to do this for me, i would just like some help and to be pointed in the right direction for what i need to read up about.
    Many Thanks,
    Edward

    Darryl,
    He is a guy at my college, its ok nobody likes him anyway :P i will just completely ignore what he said as he is actually no better than i am haha.
    Anyway, back to something that matters.....
    public void StartSqueezing()
            NozzleReady=false;
            NozzleInUse=true;
            NozzleNotInUse=false;
            Runnable run1 = new Runnable() { public void run()
             do{
               LitresDispensedPerTransaction =+ 0.10;
              try { Thread.sleep(200);}
                 catch(InterruptedException ex) {}
             while (NozzleInUse == true );
         Thread thrd1 = new Thread(run1);
         thrd1.start();
        }I have put this is the action listener of a button and it wont work....any ideas???

  • IMac with LED display rather than LCD?

    I was in the Apple Store checking out the new LED display and I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about the iMacs being updated with LED displays in the near future. Thanks.

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
    no one except Apple does know when and what models they will release.
    And the Tems of Use http://discussions.apple.com/help.jspa here do not allow to speculate of future Apple products.

  • 27inch iMac plate to raise it level with a 27inch Thunderbolt LED Display?

    Hi,
    I'm in the market for a new 27inch iMac and a 27inch Thunderbolt LED display as a second monitor. Looking that the specs I note that the height of the iMac is 16mm less than that of the LED display.
    That being said, I'm not keen to put something cheesy under the iMac (like a magazine) to raise it to the right level. Does anyone know of a plate/stand that might help align the two? Wallmounting is not an option - these need to sit on a desk.
    I hope there's something cool to keep with the clean crisp look of the Apple gear. Otherwise I've found a place that sells aluminium plates at 16mm thickness (+/- 2mm tolerance) which may be my fallback plan.
    Any advice/ideas/thoughts welcome.
    Cheers,
    Red.

    Yes it will work. This is an answer from a Genius at the Apple Store in London:
    I've contacted Engineering and they've informed me that daisy-chaining the new Cinema Display is possible up to two displays on 15-inch MacBook Pros, 17-inch MacBook Pros and iMacs. This, unfortunately, rules out the Mac mini as well as the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. The marketing material on the website will be updated soon to communicate this.

  • Dual Apple LED  Display (24") with NVIDIA GeForce GT120 & ATI RadeonHD4870

    I have recently purchased a MacPro4,1 Processor Name:Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor Speed: 2.26 GHz with 6GB memory with the NVIDIA GeForce GT120. Then I purchased a ATI Radeon HD 4870 to be able to run the 2 Apple Cinema displays and an external monitor.
    I installed the ATI in slot 1 and the GT120 in slot 3. I use different motion software and the computer seems to recognize as the primary card the GT120 and not the ATI. This creates a problem with the different software I use as it uses for processing and rendering the GT120 and not the ATI faster card.
    This is also visible when I go to system preferences and change the display preferences and try to shift them around, the first display is the one that has the GT120 card (which is in slot 3)!!!
    Also sometimes I get funny characters in some windows.
    I spent the extra dollars to get an ATI card but I am not using its capabilities which is inviting me to disconnect the GT120 card... but then I cannot use the second Apple LED display due to its Apple's miserable connector policy. This is telling me that next time I should not buy the monitors from Apple as its connectors are not trully compatible with the hardware they sell.
    I searched everywhere but cannot find similar cases which is very strange. Any solution friends?

    You could remove the NVIDIA GT120 and connect the second display to the ATI card's DVI port with a DVI to Mini DisplayPort converter.

    How you select among connected cameras depends on which application you are using to operate your iSight. Here is how camera selection works in a few examples:
    (1) For iChat, you can choose which iSight you use in the "Camera:" choices bar in iChat > Preferences... > Audio/Video that appears when more than one compatible camera is connected. Although your camera choices will be different, the choices bar will look something similar to the Preferences settings shown here:
    If you cannot see the "Camera" choices bar, your Mac is recognizing only one (or none) of your iSights. In that case, consider the suggestions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
    This particular choices bar solution applies ONLY to iChat. Most other applications also have settings that allow you to choose which camera to use. However, they do not all work the same way.
    (2) For instance, iMovie HD's camera choice is NOT set via Preferences. When you have more than one compatible camera connected, iMovie uses a drop-down menu choice something like this (depending on which version of iMovie you use):
    Note: Because I had no built-in iSight connected when I made this example, and because my external iSight was not connected, the drop-down menu showed only "Time Lapse." Because your Mac has a built-in iSight, your built-in iSight would show in the drop-down menu even when no other camera is connected. Connecting an additional Mac compatible webcam should allow you to choose either camera.
    iMove 9 (from iLife '11) uses a different camera choice button shown in this article:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iMovie/9.0/en/mov39f84285.html
    iMove 8 (from iLife '09) is slightly different as explained in this article:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iMovie/8.0/en/10172.html
    In general, you can use your Mac's help for the application in use to find out how to select among more than one connected camera.
    (3) Photo Booth in Snow Leopard 10.6.x uses the Photo Booth > Camera menu command to select which camera to use.
    Note for readers with older Mac OS X: The previous version of Photo Booth that came with Tiger (10.4.x) is such a simple, basic app that it offers no menu selectable choice. Unless your built-in iSight is already occupied as the camera being used by some open application before you launch Photo Booth, Photo Booth will use ONLY your built-in iSight.
    However, you can use the trick from ¶ 4 of http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302781 to let Photo Booth use an external camera.
    (If you have an external Firewire camera connected, it may be used in preference to any USB webcam. If that is a problem for you, merely disconnect the problem Firewire device.)
    (4) For FaceTime, launch the app and click the Video menu item.
    If your Mac recognizes more than one connected compatible camera, a "Camera" section listing the cameras from which you can choose will appear there. Clicking on the desired camera name will let you select the one you want as shown in this image from my Mac Pro and LED Cinema Display:
    If your Mac recognizes only one compatible camera, the "Camera" section will not appear in the Video menu, but FaceTime will automatically use the connected camera that is recognized by OS X.
    (5) For other apps, see Help for each app for info on how to select your desired camera.
