Several bootcamp issues and os version

I just did a clean install of my macbook pro led 15". I just used the osx install disc, not the app disc.
I then did software update to update everything including to 10.5.6. I ran bootcamp and selected 45gb for windows. I booted from my retail windows vista ultimate and installed ultimate 32bit. When inside vista bootcamp doesn't seem to work. I ran the installer from the osx disc and bootcamp install installed fine and i rebooted windows fine too. video is terrible with a score of 1.0, keyboard keys don't seem to darken or anything. They just stay lit and won't dim or anything. Trackpad won't right click at all even though bootcamp is checked for two fingers for the right click. Scrolling in windows and IE etc is extremely fast and is in fact backwards. I have to scroll up to go down and down to go up.
windows says new hardware and i need to refresh the windows score. i refresh and it just stays the same saying i need to refresh cus there's new hardware.
I have no clue why this is so messed up nor how to fix it.
Oh yeah. Why can't you use 64bit windows and why do the instructions say you must have windows xp sp2 and nothing else? this is ridiculous. it shouldn't matter what version of windows xp or vista you use.

!.) Boot Camp is installation software - once it partitions the drive and starts your installer it no longer operates. It is done. Since Apple went to Intel, the Mac is no different than a PC when Windows is installed.
2.) You have a drivers problem. You need more and better drivers.
3.) Boot Camp is poor in that it gets finished too soon. The drivers on your OSX DVD will get you started, but they are inadequate for a satisfying OS install.
4.) Apple doesn't update these drivers automatically - another failure. You have to find them - you install them from the Apple website WHILE in Windows.
5.) Some of us get these updated drivers faster and better straight from the manufacturer.
6.) The drivers for the strictly Apple hardware (Trackpad iSight etc) only can be had from the Apple website THROUGH your Windows booted machine.

7.) The example I just posted is a December 2008 Apple Windows Trackpad driver update. If your OSX disk is older than that, then your Apple-supplied Windows drivers from your disk are out of date and have not recieved the latest driver fix from Apple (and Apple won't prompt you on this).
8.) Driver fixes contain both Vista and XP software - your Windows hardware installer KNOWS which one to use (Vista) and will leave the other one (XP).
9.) All is not perfect in the Windows-on-Apple world. There is a thread in this forum that has anguished over the Trackpad issue for OVER one year now AND it is still going - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1433222&tstart=0
It is a good idea to see what others have tried first before starting from scratch on your own.
The hatter - you made an error: he has a Pro (thus needs the video driver you speak of)
NOTE I had VISTA! It sucked, and I asked for my money back - XP rules.

MacPro 6,1 (late 2013): Bootcamp issue and Awake from sleep failure

I finally got the new MacPro 6,1 and tried to install a Bootcamp Partition fresh out of the Box. I used a Win8 and Win8.1 setup from USB Stick and the procedure worked up to the point when Windows Setup tries to update the boot configuration of the MacPro.
I searched the web and found many threads and hints, reported from Customers of the Macbook Pro Late 2013, who had the same issue:

Finally i found that also other Customers of the new MacPro 6,1 run into the same problem:

The trick, formating the prepared partition from the Bootcamp Assistent as ExFat, before reformating it as NTFS inside the Windows Setup doesn't work on the MacPro.
In addition to this problems I also registered serious problems with the Wakeup from Sleep of MacOS 10.9.1 with the MacPro.
When I set the System to sleep and wait longer than some minutes, the system doesn't wakeup if I press a key or click the mouse. I tried with USB and Wireless Keyboard/Mouse. Only pressing the Powerbutton wakes the system up again.

I searched the Support Downloads and tried to install the Firmware-Update (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1714) but it says that my System can't use this Update. So i think my MacPro has it already installed?!? The Systemprofiler doesn't really helped finding out the right Version informations.
Hope Apple will release a Firmware Update or somebody knows a workaround?!?

ITUNES 11 IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. having severe crash issues and 3000 of my 11000 songs have gotten up and entirely disappeared.

It is beyond bad. It is full of bugs, on Windows it freezes constantly when connecting and syncing, it does not sync photos as well as music, even if you tell it to.
What complete idiot at Apple let this piece of s**t get out. iTunes 11 is as buggy as Microsoft software if not worse. This is not why I use Apple and unless it is fixed I will leave Apple and go Android.

Severe bootcamp install issues

After running boot camp services successfully for many years me real problems that have me stumped.
currently running windows 8.1 on 2008 intel imac was running beautifully until the other day it started struggling to keep the time and date. after resetting it everytime the computer started a few times I tried repairing bootcamp. no help. So then tried uninstalling bootcamp. no help after reinstalling it so i uninstalled bootcamp again and then cleaned the registry to hopefully clear any corruption. now bootcamp will not install correctly it gets stuck at appletimeserv with the error the package maybe damaged so e-downloaded bootcamp from apple with the same error. since then there are severe connection issues with the apple wireles mouse wireless keyboard and ati graphics. also even though bootcamp is uninstalled and no longer showing in add remove programs the bootcamp control panel is still there in the notification area and working??? feeling very frustrated and confused any help will be much appreciated OS X mavericks/Windows 8.1 x64 iMac 2008 24"

You will have to close firefox.exe with the Windows Task Manager from the "Processes" tab of the WTM since you don't have a widow to close.
The best way to close Firefox is through File > Exit, for those who stuck with the "Firefox" button click on the Firefox button then Exit. It is not perfect but it is a lot better than just closing the window with the "X" in the upper right corner

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

Severe Security Issue with Sharing Permissions and Windows

I recently discovered a severe Security issue with the windows sharing an permission settings:
I have two users, an admin user and a parental controlled user. On my mac mini, i have a external harddrive connected. On the harddrive, i have three folders, Itunes, Iphoto (Package) and a Temp Folder. I want to share the Harddrive RW for the admin, but only R for the parental user. But the Temp folder should be accessible for RW for the parental as well.
1. I set the Drive checkbox "ignore ownership" off.
2. I set the permissions of the drive to admin RW, parental R and Everyone to "no access"
3. I apply to enclosed Items
4. I set the permission of the Temp folder to admin RW, parental RW and Everyone to "no access"
5. I apply to enclosed Items
6. I go to "File Sharing" in the Preferences and activate SMB sharing for both users
7. I delete all previous shares
8. I add the Disk and use the proposed permissions which are admin RW, parental R, Everyone "no access"
9. I add the Temp folder and use the proposed permissions which are admin RW, parental RW, Everyone "no access" - Funny, there is a new Group called "Temp" created which has custom access on both sharepoints
10. I connect to the mac over a Windows machine (NTLM auth set appropriatly). Now I try to create a folder on the root of the Disk share, I get a denied message.
BUT WHEN I GO INTO A SUBFOLDER (eg. ITUNES or IPHOTO), WHICH HAS ALSO JUST "R" PERMISSION FOR THE PARENTAL USER, I AM ABLE TO RW, DELETE AND DO EVERYTHING!!!
TO RECAPITULATE: THE SHARING PERMISSIONS ARE "R", AND THE FILE PERMISSIONS IN THE RESPECTIVE FOLDERS FOR THE RESPECTIVE USER ARE ALSO JUST "R". BUT THE USER CAN DO EVERYTHING IN THE SUBFOLDERS!!!

Take it in to an Apple store or authorized service center for evaluation and possible replacement.

Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

You can uninstall Firefox from your Control Panel (under Add & Remove Programs). When you uninstall, make sure that you DON'T choose the option "Remove my Firefox Personal Data".
You can find the [http://www.squidoo.com/firefox-web-browser#module155179094 Older Versions of Firefox] (Windows and Mac versions) and accordingly download the one you want. However, please note that Firefox recommends using the latest version.
Currently, the only older version that is being maintained by Firefox, in terms of security and safety, is Firefox 3.6.24.
