Several CUMA questions

Hi, I'm just configuring CUMA 7.1. I have some questions about CUMA configuration. Actually, my client cannot connect to CUMA server and I coundn't find the source of this problem.
My CUMA is running, I have connection to AD and activated one user in CUMA. I have also connection to CUCM (7.1) and Presence server. CUCM is not synchronized with AD, but there is end user with the same login and password such as in AD. I added one mobile phone to my test user in CUMA (country = other, provider = other, phone model = Nokia E-series N-series and S60) with tel. number of my mobile phone 420......... .
In CUCM I registered deskphone 7911. End user has associated Remote dest. profile with one Remote destination. In this remote destination is as dest. number my phone number in the same way as in CUMA. This remote dest. is also associated with the line of my deskphone. I have also registered CUMC to CUCM with line of my deskphone.
I have deployment with ASA, but ASA doesn't have certificate signed by VeriSign. I created my own certificate and to my mobile phone I imported certificate of my certificate authority.
1 - my problem is, that CUMC in my phone is not able to connect to CUMA. There can be problem with ASA. Will I see all incoming connections to CUMA in cuma.log? I suppose, that if I will have some bad settings in my phone, I will at least see, that someone is trying to connect to CUMA and from log messages, I will be able to localize problem.
2 - in CUMA - System manag. - Network conf. - Proxy host name -> there is an outside  IP address of ASA, which is accessible from Internet. We don`t have an entry in DNS yet. Can it be a problem?
3 - End users in CUCM are not synchronized with AD. Users in CUMA are taken from AD. End user in CUCM has got the same login and password such as user in AD. Is it OK?
4 - in CUCM, Cisco Unified Mobile Voice Access Service is up and running, Do I need to set up some special mobility configuration in CUCM?
5 - do I need to connect in CUCM registered CUMC and Remote dest. profile or remote destination? Remote destination is set with my mobile phone number and CUMC is registered with the primary line of my deskphone?
I hope, that if there will be some problem in configuration in CUMC, my mobile phone client will be able to log into the CUMA and I will see some error messages in cuma.log
Messages in current cuma.log are:

I will appreciate any help because now don't know the source of my problem:(

Hi
1. While there is a way to request them, it only works if the mail recipient is using Outlook/Windows Mail to read their email, and only then if they have it turned on. Read receipts is not a standard feature of email. So I wouldn't bother.
2. Go to the Address Book, click on the group, hit Return and give it a new name.
3. You can print the whole email with attachments (if they're printable), but not attachments directly from within Mail.
4. Use the Option key to create foreign characters and symbols in any application. For example, the euro symbol is shift-option-2 (for a US keyboard). I believe option-2 might work for a UK keyboard.
5. I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you explain in more detail?
Hope that helps!
Matt

  • Several unrelated questions about new MacBook

This is probably bad form, but I thought I'd try to get several newbie questions answered at once.
    1) Screen on my new Macbook 2.16 core 2 Duo seems overly bright and almost washed out. I changed the gamma to 2.2 in the DIsplays panel and that helps considerably--is there any downside to running like this?
    2) I have heard "glossy" screen mentioned a lot, and mine said it was a "glossy" screen, but isn't just the standard screen, or are there alternative screens for the Macbook?
    3) How do I find the build date for this Macbook?
    4) I wonder if there's an easy way to get my Win XP installation on Bootcamp on my iMac into a Parallels or VMWare VM on this Macbook?
    5) I read that one small advantage of the newer Macbooks is that they have a revised and improved (and slightly smaller) power supply block. Mine looks **** the same as a friend's Macbook Core Duo -- is there some way to check for the current power supply? Machine may have been in Amazon stock for a while for all I know.
    6. Doesn't this new Macbook have wireless n? Would there be a significant increase in speed were I to get a new wireless n-capable router/modem (right now I've got a wireless G)?
I'm sure I have another half-dozen, but I'll practice retraint and hope nobody minds my ganging up on you.

    Hi Pier,
    1) Screen on my new Macbook 2.16 core 2 Duo seems overly bright and almost washed out. I changed the gamma to 2.2 in the DIsplays panel and that helps considerably--is there any downside to running like this?
None that I can think of. Obviously, if you are doing professional image manipulation then you could calibrate the screen, preferably with professional calibrating tools.
    2) I have heard "glossy" screen mentioned a lot, and mine said it was a "glossy" screen, but isn't just the standard screen, or are there alternative screens for the Macbook?
The standard screen is matte with glossy available as a free option.
    3) How do I find the build date for this Macbook?
Look at the serial number and specifically the first 4 digits. Mine is W8717XXXXXX. This tells me that my build date is week 17.
    4) I wonder if there's an easy way to get my Win XP installation on Bootcamp on my iMac into a Parallels or VMWare VM on this Macbook?
The only way is if you have the original Win XP CD. Installation of software on to another computer is, of course, subject to the licensing terms - EULA

Sorry, don't know but you could pop down to an Apple retail store or dealer and compare the newer power adapters with your one.
    6. Doesn't this new Macbook have wireless n? Would there be a significant increase in speed were I to get a new wireless n-capable router/modem (right now I've got a wireless G)?
802.11n can be enabled for free if you have purchased the new Airport Extreme Base Station. Alternatively, if you wish to enable 802.11n but have a third party wireless router you can purchase the AirPort Extreme 802.11n Enabler for Mac from the online store - it's only $1.99.
The following Apple KB document will guide you on how to check if 802.11n is enabled on your MBP:

  • Several issues questions with 865PE neo2 FIS2R

ok first off thanks to the people here, the sticky's are great and very informative.
although i do find the info outdated in that they all refer to old bios's. other than that this is a fantastic forum
ok so on with the questions.
im using a Silicon Image IDE U133 RAID controller (PCI CARD), , the ide hard drive(s) do NOT have to be in raid its just like a Promise card but its made by someone else.
ANYTIME i have ANY type of hard drive hooked up to that, the motherboard takes nearly 5 minutes to boot to the active hard drive. even if i select boot menu and then the RAID hard drives the SATA drives i mean.
my active hard drives are 2 Maxtor 160gig SATA drives in RAID0 mode.
if i have NO hard drives hooked to the controller card the system boots directly to the active boot hard drive. without dealy.
IF i have an ide hard drive set to boot off the SIL card, it takes just as long. which seems like ages.
anyone know of issues with this mobo and certain IDE hard drive controllers. (PCI)
i too am having blank sreen issues with my 9700 pro video card.  but mine is nearly 2 out of 5 times i boot i have no video, and many times i am forced to reach around the pc case and unplug the power cord for a few minutes, in order to get the system to boot WITH video.
another issue that i have and this is the WORST.
nearly 90% of the time, the motherboard will NOT i repeat will NOT boot from a floppy or cdrom, all i get is the message on screen, if i am using a bootable floppy, like "Starting windows 98" or "Starting Windows ME"  these are DOS boot disks made with windows XP.
i then get only a blinking curser. and nothing else.
    OR
i get a blinking cursor and then i must wait 5-10 minutes before anything else happens. and even then usually the cdrom or floppy wont complete the booting process.
this happens regardless of if i have anything hooked to that IDE controller card.
i am now using the LATEST bios offered for this mobo and nothing has changed in fact ,,well according to the readme i was expecting to see some changes within the bios but i seee none. maybe i read the read me wrong. (say that 5 times fast)
i can NOT run the ram performance mode in anything other than slow. which is making me very angry.
i have infineon ram not sure what model but i will report back when i find out.
but i do recall sandra reporting it as supporting 2.5cas and other setting that appear to be FAST or TURBO and yet i cant use those in the bios otherwise my system reboots in windows or i get memory speed errors during post.
overall im VERY pleased with this mobo but am discouraged at the way its treating me.
i have a PentIV 3.0ghz HT which is a NON production model, it is a sample model with the multiplyer unlocked.  i can go with a lower multiplyer but NOT a higher one, so i assume its unlocked but the CPU itself is limited to 15x multiplyer.
i have tried tons of configurations and can run very stable at 3.45ghz but i MUST make the dram 333 mhz  not 400. then raise the FSB to around 225 or 230.  but i still get serious power offs when doing any heavy work on the pc.
i have CPU voltages at 1.575 yet  sandra reports it as 1.55
    DRAM voltage at 2.7  ( i am using DDR400)
    and AGP at 1.7
with this CPU what is a GOOD voltage to use.
is it ok to go higher than 2.7 with DDR400 ?
and AGP  everything i have read said that 1.8v will fry the 9700 pro.  is this true ?
sorry im asking alot of questions but if you can help me with any of them i would REALLY appreciate it, and i would pass along any info i learn.!

Well as Far as your PCI IDE Controller Questions are concerned, I would not know as I have never Used one , And with the Available Promise controller, you should Try using this instead......As Far as your Memory Voltage, You can Raise the Voltage above 2.7 Volts, But unless you are Really Overclocking the PBS or FSB as some call it, then 2.7 Volts is the "Norm" For this Board, But if you do NOT have High Performance RAM you should check with the Manufacturer, before you Go any Higher than 2.7 V, as far as the AGP Voltage is concerned, 1.6 Volts is the MAX that you should Have it set to with any of the new NVIDIA-FX or ATI-PRO, or XT Series Cards, Because as you know, the Cards that are 8X AGP Speed only Require .8Volts to begin with, and the ABP Voltage is Further Reduced by the Cards onboard Electronics, And if you have one of the High Performance Cards, well as you know, these get 90% of their Operating Power from the 4 Pin Molex PSU Connector. Any higher AGP Voltage then 1.6 Volts will only increase the Temps. of Both the Motherboards Chipset, and the VPU itself.................Sean REILLY875

  • Several Problems/Questions with IPhone 3G SMS

Just bought the new Iphone 3G in the UK and I am rather disappointed. Besides the fact that I have to recharge the battery once a day , I could not find the following standard functionalities for text messaging. Maybe somebody knows if there is an easy fix:
    1) I want my iphone to ring when I am called but I only want it to vibrate when I get a text message. I cannot see how to do that
    2) I would like to have delivery receipts with every text I send. Any way to do that?
    3) I cannot see how I can forward a text message
    4) I cannot see how many characters I type in a text message. This leads to me sending 2 text messages just because I typed in 1/2 more characters
Any solution to the abov problems?
    Many thanks

Regarding your first question, have you tried changing the New Text Message sound option to None, while leaving Vibrate On under the Ring settings? These options are found under Settings -> Sounds.
As per your other questions, I don't think there is support for those features currently.

  • Switching from PC to Mac - Need to ask several compatibility questions

Hello. I'm about to buy a new iMac, with the whole hunky dory '^_^, especially graphics. The thing is, I don't really care about Windows-only software as I can buy VMware or similar, but my question is, I have a complete collection of The Sims 2 (and The Sims 1, from some time ago.), intended for Windows. As I know trans-machine applications via virtual machine software can be VERY buggy, especially when using high-end graphics. Will I have to keep my old big PC to run it properly, or will I be able to run The Sims 2 and similar graphics-using games on a new iMac with virtual machine software?
And don't suggest me to re-buy it Mac-edition, hehe. Still saving for the iMac itself! '^_^. (I'm a teen from Israel, what did ya expect? )
    -Smiles.

How fast Windows runs in a virtual machine depends primarily on the system power. If you want to use a VM exclusively for games sans Boot Camp you should go for as much processing power and memory as you can afford. I have Windows Vista installed in Boot Camp and I also have a Parallels virtual machine set up to run the Boot Camp installation from within OS X. Parallels doesn't currently support Direct X in Vista, however, but it does in Windows XP. Parallels also has a migration tool that will allow you to migrate an existing Windows installation from a PC into a Parallels virtual machine on a Mac.

  • Firefox-pgo in AUR - several naive questions

I just happened upon Ranguvar's firefox-pgo in the AUR.  It builds flawlessly with makepkg on my system and the installed binary feels faster than the one from the standard package. I have two naive questions:
    1)  I realize that it contains the same base src as the standard firefox package, but there are a number of patches the PKGBUILD applies.  Any potential security concerns of using this build over the standard one?
    2) One only has to build the package once, right?  I have been reading about pgo and from what I understand, the package is built once, the user actually bangs on the software while other executables monitor how it behaves to some log files, then, at some point in the future, the user re-builds the package and these log files are used to rebuild the it with user-specific optimizations.  Do I have that right and if so, how does one do it with this PKGBUILD?
    Thanks for the clarification.

graysky wrote:Do we have a list of these in the mozconfig we can edit to disable?
off the top of my head i think:
    ac_add_options --disable-safe-browsing
    ac_add_options --disable-crashreporter --disable-parental-controls
    ac_add_options --disable-installer --disable-updater
are the main ones.  if you go to the mozilla developer center, the mozconfig options are not very detailed in description, they cover a few ones, then dump the rest with little or no details on what they're for.  and some are missing entirely.
oh and if you're really not a fan of being tracked on your laptop, and dont arent into geocaching or geo trolling or whatever that "hobby" is
    --disable-necko-wifi
and remove wireless-tools from the PKGBUILD build depends.  this is used as a poor man's gps by tracking wireless networks around your computer and triangulating to your position from there.  i'm still not sure why it's enabled by default, but oh well

  • Can you replace a laptop with the ipad2? Several related questions.

    Hi
I want to buy an ipad2 to replace my laptop (I pretty much only use it for email, reading website, online gaming, Facebook etc, and don't really feel the need to have one for anything else. Rarely write documents etc.)
    Questions:
Can I use the itunes on the ipad to update and sync my iphone instead of with the laptop or do I still need some kind of pc to maintain this?
Are banking websites compatible with the ipad? I know apple doesn't support flash so am a little concerned about some webistes not working on the ipad. Wondering what kind of problems other might have had with this kind of thing.
Does the ipad work with Microsoft documents and spreadsheets (the few that I do use I would like to be able to do on there?
Are there any other areas that I might have trouble with?
    Thanks in advance

    1) ios5 devices no longer need to be synced with a computer, though they can be. You can't sync your iphone to your iPad, but you can treat each independently.
    2) I've never had a problem with my bank's site. Adobe themselves have abandoned Flash for mobile devices, so in time this issue will become less and less significant. In fact even now it's rarely an issue.
    3) MS office doesn't run on iPad, but Apples iworks suite does. You can open MS office files and even export them back into MS Office formats. In truth it's so simple and straightforward that you quickly forget that they're entirely separate formats. There is also the option of 3rd party Apps, Freeware, that can handle MS Office files.
    4) I found the key is not to expect the iPad to be a laptop with a few differences. It's an entirely separate product needing entirely different inputs. If your use is as you describe, mostly web-based, email etc, then iPad suits perfectly. Where it doesn't suit so well is where lots of keyboard input is required. Good though the ios software keyboards are, they are not the same thing as a physical keyboard. Fedback is entirely different etc.  For that reason, iPad would not be ideally suited if there is lots of that type of input required.
Go for it. I'm sure you'll love it.
    Good luck

  • Several GarageBank Questions

    Hi,
As a new-start can someone give me pointers re the following:
[1] I have two Midi enabled keyboards. What's the best value but reliable way to connect up a keyboard to GarageBand for me? Should I:
    (a) try using my existing keyboards, but somehow identify a MIDI-to-USB converter for my MacBook, or
    (b) purchase an Apple USB keyboard (which would seem a bit of a waste of my existing keyboards)
[2] Voice - I do have a mixing desk. For good voice input would people recommend going Mike into my mixer and then Line Level after this into the MacBook? Or is there a better way to get good quality voice into the MacBook?
[3] What if I were considering going to ProTools as opposed to GarageBand? Would the answers to Q1 and Q2 above change?
[4] What are people's thoughts in terms of whether it is worth upgrading to ProTools for a hobbyist recorder? Is GarageBand usable enough. For example things I would expect is:
    - ability to loop through a recording passage having multiple attempts at getting it right, and then choosing the take that was correct
    - ideally with the audio takes being able to slice and dice the best bit out of the multiple takes
    - ability to transpose midi parts
    - ability to record changes to part levels over the course of the song
    - ability to save to a stereo file and burn to CD
    - basic effects - e.g. reverb for voice
    - ability to manage input levels for clipping, or adding auto-clipping control, or compression or something
    - ability to have say 10 channels of audio
    Thanks in advance

    (b) purchase an Apple USB keyboard (which would seem

If you are happy with the keyboards themselves then a MIDI to USB interface would be the most sensible way to go: for example

[2] Voice - I do have a mixing desk. For good voice
input would people recommend going Mike into my mixer
and then Line Level after this into the MacBook? Or
is there a better way to get good quality voice into
    the MacBook?
I should start by running your mixer into the Mac and see if you are happy with the results: you may get a small amount of hiss or buzz, so listen carefully for that. It may be OK for you: or you could go for an audio interface: HangTime offers some suggestions -
    http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/FAQPages/Interfaces.html
[3] What if I were considering going to ProTools as
opposed to GarageBand? Would the answers to Q1 and
    Q2 above change?
No, because you are talking about the interface into the computer, rather than GB itself.
[4] What are people's thoughts in terms of whether it
is worth upgrading to ProTools for a hobbyist
    recorder?
You might to better to see if there is a forum for ProTools users; I don't know whether many people on here know much about ProTools. It's a powerful program, but GarageBand can do a great deal. I should work with GB for a bit and find out whether its limitations bother you.
Is GarageBand usable enough. For example
    things I would expect is:
    - ability to loop through a recording passage having
multiple attempts at getting it right, and then
choosing the take that was correct
I think you can do something like this with audio using the 'cycle region', though each take will wipe the one before, so it's not exactly what you were asking for.
    - ideally with the audio takes being able to slice
and dice the best bit out of the multiple takes
Possible, by recording a number of tracks as different takes: though GB's audio editing is a bit clumsy.
    - ability to transpose midi parts
    Yes
    - ability to record changes to part levels over the
    course of the song
    Yes, by drawing automation curves.
    - ability to save to a stereo file and burn to CD
Yes, save to iTunes and burn from there.
    - basic effects - e.g. reverb for voice
    Yes.
    - ability to manage input levels for clipping,
You control input levels with your mixer: there is a meter on the track as you record.
adding auto-clipping control, or compression or
    something
There is compression, though it's normally added after the event. There are many Audio Units you can add on: again, these are applied after the recording has been made.
    - ability to have say 10 channels of audio
Yes, though if you want to record several at once you will need a FireWire interface. The number of tracks you can have is dependent more on the power of your computer. Slower computers will start to fall over as you add tracks.

  • DVD player 5.4 keeps crashing using a variety of DVDs.  I have OS 10.6.8, and have repaired permissions, verified the disc, and installed the 10.6.8 update combo.  Several previous questions have adressed this problem.  What is the solution?

DVD player 5.4 keeps crashing.  I have seen here that a number of other people have had this problem.  I recently started one DVD, and when I went back to it, it opened to a black screen twice.  It also crashes with other DVDs after I scroll ahead or back.  It gives an error message that it is skipping damaged areas, or sometines error 69889.  Playing this on a PC, however, there is no problem.  I repaired the permissions, verified the disc, and installed the OS 10.6.8 combo update, all to no avail.  Techs told me that it is usually the hardware, so I bought a LaCie external combo drive.  Still crashes.  Looked on Apple downloads and they don't list a 5.4 to replace this version.  Mac informer.com offers a free download for DVD 5.5- should I try this?  Why doesn't Apple fix this problem?

Your suggestions did not help.  I repeated them again after the first try did not succeed.  Any other ideas?
Would installing another copy of DVD 5.4 help?  How can I get another copy of DVD player 5.4, since Apple does not seem to offer it?  I do have the disc for Snow Leopard, but am not extremely tech savy (and maybe it is the same corrupted version).

  • One Contact Of Several - grey question mark

This contact appears to have been lost due to 6.18.0.106 update.  I have been told this contact has texted me to re-connect but it cannot be viewed.  I also passed through a screen that said Skype is not available at this time", yet I can access my Skype account and other contacts.
How can I re-friend someone whose text messages to me don't show.  Is it because they have first not 're-friended' me so I cannot see anything from them?  Please advise...I have not found answers in the support area for my specific issue with Windows 7 Premium running on my laptop.
    Thanks for your help!!

Will do...sent her another invite before you suggested (forgot to mention) but the text she supposedly sent me has never arrived so I don't see how we can be connected.  As my next best guess is that she is not responding directly to the invitation but sending a message (I am still on her contact list), I will re-send the invitation and ask she respond directly to it.  I hope this works...thaks

  • Several questions on R&R v4.31

    Greetings!
I'm using Rescure & Recovery 4.31 (4.31.0010.00) and have two unrelated questions regardng R&R. I have weekly backup scheduled to my external 2TB USB drive (currrently 1.3TB free). I have several unrealted questions:
I made a base backup initially and the weekly incremental was working great until two weeks ago when it stopped. I read a thread where one person deselected the inclusion of the recovery partition so I did too and the schedule executed properly. The question is does R&R write anything to the recovery partition?
What is the effect of installing TrueCrypt & doing the whole drive encryption? Does the data written to the external USB drive encrypted or decrypted? Do I need to make a new base image?
Is anyone using the initial Windows Home Server as the backup destination? In that case can multiple base images be saved? With an external drive connected to a single laptop it seems like you can save only one base image & incrementals for that same laptop.
    Thank you.
    Rob
For two weeks in a row it didn't fire up the backup. After reading postings I found out that someone's scheduled backup also ceased and the remedy was to exclude ("uncheck") the recovery partition.
    R&R 4.31
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    takosan,
here are my answers to your questions:
    1.  RnR does not write anything to the recovery partition (Q.  That is only for the factory restore image/disks.
    2.  whether data written to the USB drive is encrypted or not is entirely up to the TrueCrypt settings.  In general, with encryption, taking a backup is not an issue.  The issue is with the restore, the backup software needs to know how to access the encrypted drive and restore it in an encrypted way.  As far as I know, RnR does not know how to access the drive that is encrypted with TrueCrypt.  The only encryption software providers that are compatible with RnR are bitlocker, Sophos SafeGuard, and WinMagic SecureDoc.  If you want to use encryption software and RnR, then I would recommend using one of those options and not TrueCrypt.  If you want to use TrueCrypt, then I would recommend finding different backup software - consult the TrueCrypt forums for backup/restore software that they are compatible with.
    3.  the only way you can save multiple base images is by using different shares.  you cannot save multiple base images in the same share.

  • Several questions/issues...

Okay, so I finally found a HD with OS 9.1 (it was in another computer this whole time) and now I want to install Tiger on it. I have several other questions as well...
First, I would like to connect my Mac to the internet so I can install updates, etc (using an Ethernet cord and DSL). When I go to the help and type in internet connection, it lists steps for me to try. At the bottom it says "open the internet setup assistant for me." When I click on the link, it gives me an error, saying "This item cannot be opened. It is either disabled or not installed." How do I enable it or reinstall it?
Secondly, I would like to make a copy of the entire hard disk onto another hard drive, that way, if I corrupt files on the installation, I have another hard drive I can work off of. What is a program that I can use that makes an exact copy of the hard drive? It also needs to work with Mac OS 9.
Thirdly, the back of my G3 B/W Mac says that it has a 400 MHz processor, which is strange because in the "about this Mac" option on the menu, it says that the Mac is a 300 MHz G3. Is OS 9 being tricked into thinking that this is a slower PC? Is the motherboard not the original and it has been simply swapped out? How can I tell?
Lastly, eventually after I back up the HD, I would like to install OS X Tiger (because Leopard can't run on G3s). I believe I have an upgrade CD, but I'm not sure, but it's a number of CDs, not a DVD. When I try to run it, it comes up with the CD contents and I click on Install OS X. The gigantic X pops up and it tells me to install it, I have to click restart to restart the system. When I hit restart, it gives me an error, saying "Error. Startup Disk was unable to select the Install CD as the startup disk(-2)." I think the problem is that my CD drive is not in the right boot order or something, and its throwing the Mac off. How do I fix this? Or is it my Tiger CD? Or, am I supposed to upgrade to Jaguar, Panther, and then Tiger? Or do I even have an upgrade CD, and it's the full install?

    RE: Internet -
How you configure DSL depends mainly on whether you have a Router that you can configure.
Case 1 -- No Router: your ISP likely provides a connection for a single computer. If you are actively using that computer, you will not have room for an additional computer. If you were given a Username and Password, that is likely to require PPPoE, which is not supported under Mac OS 9 without a "Helper" application, such as MacPoet, to establish and maintain the connection.
If you are lucky, you can substitute your Mac for your other computer. You will need to enter the ISP-supplied "Magic Numbers". IP Address Manual and the address they gave you. Subnet mask is often 255.255.255.0 and Router Address: the address they gave you. The Domain Name Server (DNS) IP addresses, typically two, should both be entered in the large field for that parameter. The rest can usually be left blank.
Case 2 -- Router you can configure: The Router will act as your agent on the Internet, forward packets on your behalf, and protects you from abuse from the Internet by hiding your IP Addresses, while keeping track of the details for you. If you need a Username and Password, you set the Router up to deal with that, and no other Computers need to be bothered. You configure the Router with the 'Magic Numbers" provided by your ISP, and each computer is setup more simply.
The Router will pass out local IP Addresses to each local computer using DHCP, so set IP Address: Using DHCP and most other fields will be "supplied by Router".
    In every case:
In OS 9, you MUST close the TCP/IP Control Panel and Save Changes to have them take effect.
Then open a Browser window and put 17.149.160.49 on the url address line. If you get Apple, Inc web site, you are almost there. then try Apple.com -- it that gets you Apple, Inc you are done.
If not, open the TCP/IP Control Panel again and see what IP Address you have. 168.254.xxx.yyy means you are talking only to yourself.

Looking for an app for blue tooth on my Iphone.  Out of the many in the app store which one(s) would be the best & most reliable?  Currently trying to set up for an older Jaw Bone?

You are asking several different questions. If you need to store your photos, music, and movies on an external volume, you certainly can. Any externally connected hard disk drive will work, connected either directly to your Mac or to your Time Capsule as a shared volume.
You should not rely upon using that as a backup device though. Although you certainly may use it for both purposes, it is a better idea to have dedicated backup devices for a variety of reasons not limited to redundancy. You would not want to simultaneously lose all your pictures as well as your backup. If they are all on the same device, that could happen. Furthermore, a backup cannot back up the volume on which it is running.
As for adding an Extreme or Express, using its LAN port for your iMac, and then enable Internet sharing so you can effectively use the iMac as a "hotspot", you can do that too, but I am unclear on what benefit you believe this arrangement would convey for you.
An Extreme's Guest network is separate from its Main network; that is the reason for having it.

  • Interview Questions Required.............Help???

I have done Oracle Database Administration Track and I need a job
for that purpose i want any one to send me the interview questions
I need any job and i have to prepare for the interview...................
    Please help me...............
    My e-mail address is
    [email protected]
    Thanks in advance.............

Most probably you have already gone trhough your job interview, but either way this goes for people who are trying to get acquainted with a job interview.
As an employeer I check the individual twice, once for the technical interview, the other for the profile interview.
On the first one, any thing can come to my mind. I request the prospect to present a 10 minute topic, with a 10 minute Q&A. Oracle DBA is wide, but I can immediately, from an open question, know if the prospect knows what he is talking about or not. On the profile interview it can be displayed if the prospect is looking for a job, just because this person is looking for the money or if this person is really committed with the dba tasks and the company's goals.
There are some other companies who hire dba's and at interview time there is an expert panel who will validate each produce syllable.
My personal advise is that any prospect be completely honest, there are several crossed questions aimed at discovering discrepancies and contradictions; proactively gain experience and be prepared to answer to whatever comes ahead, and finally not only request for a job but promptly offer solutions to the company's problems.

  • How to make a question pool with MANY questions?

I would like to make a question pool
with several thousand questions, which I currently have in an
Excel file. Is there a way around having manually to enter all
questions in a Captivate question pool?
    Thanks.

I would use the XML function from Captivate 4.
    - Make yourself a test quiz with two slides, one being a multiple choice.
    - Export it to XML
    - Open the XML File in Excel
Good point to start with is ns1:g and ns1:Source26.
Most likely you can get all your question into captivate that way.
