Several firefox problems

is anyone being affected by these?
1. when it asks to save a password it asks twice everytime!
2. sometimes the direction keys inc. home end and sursor keys don't work - they don't as a i type
3. ctrl+t has stopped working?

1: Same here.
2: Never had that, until today, after reading your post... (No, I didn't upgrade anything.)
3: Ctrl+t works fine for me.
There are several other funny glitches with Firefox though, I forget to make a list of them everytime I encounter one. (Like text being selected while ti shouldn't sometimes, copying text in Nedit drives Firefox crazy when doing input, Firefox adding ghost seperators when moving bookmark elements with copy&paste and some other things.)
And flash stopped working a while ago (no idea when, I just noticed it recently). The flash plugin is listed in about:plugins but doesn't do anything. Adding the link to it manually doesn't fix it. Java works though.

hello, maybe an addon or toolbar is inserting this code into websites - please try if sites load correctly in safemode & if so remove all extensions in firefox > addons > extensions, that you don't have installed intentionally or that might look suspicious (especially toolbars of all sorts). also have a look in the windows control panel / programs section and also uninstall toolbars etc. that are listed there...

Everything about Firefox is now going downhill.
This forum has taken me an hour to logon to because its not been up and running or just slow.
Firefox 8.01 has severe memory problems (which I have commented on another thread).
The addons are not downloading - the search for addon fails in Firefox - presumably the servers are down.
Firefox Sync sucks - slow/sluggish and a real pain to know what you are syncing is correct from one pc to another.
Firefox slow slow slow and getting worse - I just wish I could get another browser working to do what I do in Firefox and I am off. So many hours wasted over this - a browser should not be so complicated - its relying on servers which are slowing it down - the memory leaks are just getting worse.

Firefox is not available for Windows RT which is the OS you have on your device so think you are SOL unless somebody has a clever way of doing it.

Suddenly, I've been put on multiple threads over multiple firefox problems, which is filling up my inbox. How do I get out of these?

Details? I posted a question about one problem (for which no answers have been offered, but that's okay) and somehow, I've become part of multiple threads about various firefox problems. I have no interest in any of these questions/problems.
How do I get out of these threads? I get about 15-20 emails a day! Firefox is by far the worst community I've even been dragged into....

Have a look at your settings in the dropdown from the username or https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/users/settings
Not too sure what you could subscribe to accidentally that causes that behaviour though.
It would be interesting to know what option caused all the email. If something has gone wrong and you are getting e-mails that you should not be getting we can refer this to the admins to look into. The Firefox sumo community certainly does not intentionally spam, and if you are having a problem lets find out more, because others may have a problem and not have reported it.

I cannot download individual pictures from ebay. When I right click the picture (enlarged) or the small picture I don't get the option to "save picture as". Is this a firefox problem or a yahoo problem?

I always use firefox to browse the internet. When I attempt to save a picture from ebay I have always enlarged the picture, right click, the clicked "save picture as". Now when I right click I don't get that option. All it will let me do is save the entire ebay item file. When I right click on the enlarged picture, the small picture, or the white near the enlarged photo my icon choices are: 1.Copy 2. Select All 3.Yahoo 4. Search Yahoo for "Please wait imag" 5. I've tried all kinds of different ways to make it work, and nothing! The only way I can get the pictures off ebay is open up a internet explorer window and go that route. Fire fox NEEDS to fix this NOW!

Signed applets in 1.4.1: non-trust ignored: severe security problem?

I am signing applets with a developer certificate.
Until know everything worked fine with Plugin 1.3.1.
Know I changed to Plugin 1.4.1 and encountered a strange behaviour: When I open the HTML page with a browser (tried IE 5.5 and Mozilla 1.1) the certificate-question pops up. The problem: if I choose not to trust the certificate, the applets starts nevertheless and I can use the system clipboard inside my Applet (for what applets needs to be signed)!
This looks like a severe security problem!
Does anyone know anything about this? Can you reproduce this?

I tried to reproduce what you said with plugin 1.4.0 (I don't have 1.4.1 yet) and IE6.0 (It doesn't have anything to do with the browser)
My Java console said :
"User has denied the priviledges to the code
writeFile: caught security exception"
The security seems to work OK in 1.4.0.
I will have to try 1.4.1.

This is a good question. It's possible your Xserver isn't configured for the correct mouse type. Try logging into a command line console (no X11 running). Run /usr/bin/X11/X -configure. It should create an Xorg configuration file in your root directory.
Copy this to /etc/X11/Xorg.conf and try restarting your Xserver. The file it creates might require some tweaking.

Severe Call Problems (drops, bricks, ghost calls)

Had the original since soon after it came out and had virtually no problems. Just bought the 3G Black 3G version last night. Several major problems right out of the gate:
1. During a call the touch screen blacks out (call is still live). If one requires the touch pad interface to get through a customer service maze, for example, the phone is useless. Has happened twice but is not foolproof repeatable.
2. During a call, another random call from my contacts will be initiated and place the current call on hold, AND the touch screen blacks out. The new Ghost call continues and you can't stop it because you can't interface the phone. SUPER embarrassing. Has happened twice, not foolproof repeatable (but probably because I'm losing a willingness to actually use the phone).
3. After every call (repeatable, every time) the device instantly powers off.
4. Dropped call, plus instant power down.
My 3G seems to fly and everything else non-phone related seems fine... but I have yet to experience a full beginning-call-to-end-call success. I loaded up some music and photos and synced my contacts to Google and loaded one app (NY Times)... that's it.
At this point I have a great PDA but not a meaningfully reliable phone. Any help is most appreciated... because I NEED a reliable phone! (duh!) I've perused the subjects and keep up on the news and see lots of drop problems but nothing like this... maybe I just got a dud?

Ah hah! User error! Trying to pull a fast one on the plastics industry I weaseled my original model semi-soft Belkin case onto the 3G, apparently hosing the proximity sensor and otherwise causing unintended contact with assorted areas of the interface. $30 to the apple store for more precisely 3G molded plastics later, and full functionality is restored, 2nd day was in pretty heavy usage, crystal clear, no drops, zippy Internet. 3G is actually strong and speedy here in eastern MA, fwiw. Insanely overpriced plastic but worth every penny in the end.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Can't read Adobe reader files, they are too faint to see; Works fine in IE, so it must be a Firefox problem.

Adober Reader and Firefox 4.0 beta 8 has a bug.
adobe reader brings up the .pdf's very faint, cannot be read. Using beta 4.0 8. Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe reader 10X. works fine in IE so it must be a firefox problem.

Severe graphic problems on Intel iMac (2007)

iMac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (white, 2007)
Works OK in OS X 10.6.7 in Safe Boot mode, but with regular startup is unusable and experiences severe graphic problems and freezes, such as:
Spurious lines across the screen and in various application windows.
Mail window breaks up into a patchwork and mail refuses to quit
Safari window displays severe artifacts and locks up
Dock severely distorted; some icons extremely garbled and unrecognizable
We tried erasing and reinstalling OS 10.6, up to 10.6.7, restoring only the primary user, but the same problems persist. No applications other than from the installation disk were installed.
iMac originally came with OS X 10.4. Upgraded to 10.5, then later to 10.6. Since upgrading to 10.6 (now 10.6.7), have had increasing problems with display artifacts. Now it's so bad we can't operate unless we go to Save Boot. Then, it seems to work fine, but Safe Boot turns off sound output, so iTunes and other audio capabilities are lost.
Since it works OK under Safe Boot, what items could be removed to restore proper operation?
Is there a way to restore sound output while operating in Safe Boot?
Is it just a bad idea to upgrade to MacOS X 10.6 on a computer that came with 10.4?
I'm considering erasing and returning to the original MacOS X 10.4 installation, but I'm concerned that photos in iPhoto will not be compatible with the OS 10.4 version of iPhoto.

It passes the Apple Hardware Test, as well as TechTool Pro hardware tests. But clearly something is wrong, and worse than when it was even a few weeks ago. I even tried erasing and reverting Tiger, and it was better, but still had some obvious artifacts and stability issues. Apparently not a drive problem either, since it occurs when running from various external drives as well.
Appreciate the help.
