Several invoices in single PDF (for print)..

Hello experts,
I have this issue.. I am generating invoices massively through WebDynpro Java, we need those invoices in their print format, so far I can put one invoice document per PDF, but it is non practical for the volume of generated invoices to print one by one..
I need to create several invoices in one PDF, with their corresponding header and items. So that the user can send to print lots of documents at a time.
I hope you guys can guide me trhough this issue, I can't figure it out how to have One header per page with their Items..
I repeat, I have successfully created one full invoice in the PDF (header + items), now I need to create more than one page, every invoice in its corresponding page.
Thanx in advance!
JV

Hello Reema, thank you very much for your answer.. I tried what you commented in the last post.. I have the following doubts/comments...
So far I am able to print several invoices in different pages.
The problem I'm facing is this.. the header-footer of every invoice is printing properly, but the detail is not.. if I have several items in the invoice the first item is printed correctly, and the rest in being printed in different pages with no header.
If in the table row subform -that is the items- I select the option "Repeat Subform for each data item" all the items independent of the header get printed in a single invoice..
Let me get into more detail hoping you can help me.. the PDF gets populated form webdynpro using the following node structrue
Header Node (containing header/footer information for the invoice)
______ Items Node (the list of materials)
Where 1:N items are assigned to 1 Header, and having 1:N headers.
In the Interactive Form I have the Following structure in my body pages.
Root subform (with "Repeat Subform for each data item" option checked)
______ Header ( part of Header Node)
______ Fixed Height Subform
______ Table Subform
______ Table Row Subform (Items Node)
                 |______ Footer ( remaining part of Header Node)
I don't know what am I doing wrong, I really hope you can help me out..
Thanks in advance!

  • Export in pdf for print inexistant border

    Hello,
I try to export an Indesign CS5 file in pdf for print.
If I choose PDF1.4, X-4:2008  I have a dark rectangle like a shadow under several text. I thought it was a transparency problem but I now set up the transparency to High Quality.
If I choose PDF1.3  I don't have the shadow issue anymore but a white border around the text and images which had been rotated.
I'm not a specialist in pdf export for print so I don't know what is the best settings and how to fix my issue.
Can it be only a screen issue and be ok for the print??
    Cheers,
    Elodie

I apologize for not getting to this sooner.
How are you viewing the PDF that shows the discoloration? Acrobat or some other application? Is overprint preview turned on in Acrobat?
This is definitely transparency related. When you choose PDF 1.3 you are flattening the transparency and the white lines you see are called "stitching." Thay ae a dispaly artifact in Acrobat (they'll disappear if you turn off smoothing), and though they may show in a low-resolution digital print, they are usually not apparent in high-resolution output from a press.

  • Single PDF for Multiple transactions

    Hi,
As of now we are getting multiple PDF files for Multiple transactions in the single extract file. But is there any possibility to generate single pdf file with all the transactions. Im not sure where we need to change in the FSISYS.INI file. Can anybody help on this. Is there any option like that???
we are using 11.4 environment and input is an extract file. Please let me know if any details required.
    Many Thanks,
    Vamshi Mundla.

    Hi,
I am just trying to give some additional information on this one. Here is a snippet from the PDF handbook.
    Option:
SpoolBatches Enter Yes to tell the PDF Print Driver to print an entire batch of transaction to a single PDF file. The default is No.
    Please do keep in mind...
    • To create a linearized PDF file (for page-at-a-time downloading), you must set this option to No.
    • If you are using single step processing, you must set this option to No.
In addition to this, you must also turn off the MultiFilePrint callback function. To do this, remove or comment out the CallbackFunc option. Here is an example of commenting out the CallbackFunc option:
    < Print >
    ; CallbackFunc = MultiFilePrint
You cannot generate linearized PDF files if you set the SpoolBatches option to Yes because when linearizing, the PDF Print Driver must have the entire contents of the PDF
file in memory. Since batches can be very large, it is not practical to keep an entire batch in memory.
    Important point for your reference:
I just went through the FAQ in the below link and understood that there are some problems when you try to create a single PDF for a batch as a whole - Acrobat Reader only display the first transaction in a PDF file which contains multiple transactions.

    PDF Handbook -> http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16256_01/pdf_book.pdf
I did not get a chance to explore much on this. Please explore if it helps. Thank you.

  • When saving a document as a PDF for printing, I lose pages, clip art, and my orginal format. Help!

I have created some forms for our congregation to fill in with answers on adobe forms central. When I go to turn it into a PDF for printing for a hard copy, (not all our members have internet) when i save it to a PDF, it doesn't save all the pages and formats it differently then show on the screen i programmed it onto. How do I fix this issue?

    Hi;
In the "Feature Tutorials/Help" linked from the top of the main page of the Forums: Feature Tutorials / Help
There is a Tutorial on "Creating and distributing fillable PDF Forms": Tutorial: Creating and distributing fillable PDF forms
The main thing to look at is the "View" setting and for PDF set it to "Page View", the page breaks you define in Page View will be used in the PDF, there are also "implicit" page breaks added automatically based on the page size.
For the issue with clip art see this FAQ: Image does not show up in PDF

  • Saving Illustrator CS4 file to PDF for printing. NO FORUMS CAN HELP

I have put threads on the PDF forum, they told me to put it on Illustrator forum and still know one has an answer, Tried to contact Adobe about this and just got a run around. Can anyone please help?
My problem results from when I save my file from Adobe Illustrator to a PDF for printing. After saving from Illustrator to a PDF and proofing it on screen all my gradients and other elements are where I need them to be on the page. But when I upload them to my printing company template all the gradients and so on are not even close to be in the right spot. How can I solve this problem, Is there a new setting in CS4 I need to know? Because I never had this problem with Illustrator CS3.

    Hi Reggie,
I'm far from an Illustrator expert, but let's see if we can gather som more information form you that might help me, or someone else, figure out what's going wrong. Can you post a screnn capture of the arwork in Illustrator so I can see what the gradients are and how they're positioned? Use the little camera Icon thing in the toolbar above the message editing space on the web page.
Next, tell us about the printer's template. What application is it made in? What version?
What version of Illustrator and what OS are you using to create your art?
Is it only the gradients that are in the wrong place? Maybe a screen shot of that would help too.

  • I have a 2 x spot colour file in Illustrator CC and need to save it as a PDF for printing in spot colour....

I have a 2 x spot colour file in Illustrator CC and need to save it as a PDF for printing in spot colour, which option do I choose in the 'save as' menu?
and how do I check it?
The overprint panel is open and I can turn off the cmyk ( there are no separations for the cmyk anyway)
Have looked at the tutorials which tell me to print as PDF7 but that utility is disabled and has been for ages.
it is a simple need but can find no simple information so think I must be missing something!
    Thanks in advance!

No magic required. You simply save it as PDF-X from AI. If the spot colors are based on correct swatches and tagged accordingly, they will appear as separate inks/ plates in the PDF, which you can verify in the ink manager in Acrobat. That's pretty much all there is to it and the print facility should handle this file correctly.

  • Why do I get white lines surrounding transparencies when exported as a PDF for print - Indesign Vers

Why do I get white lines surrounding PSD or Tiff transparencies when exported as a PDF for print - Indesign Version 9.2?
I recently upgraded creative suite - now I am having issues with white lines surrounding any tiffs or PSDs when exporting for print.
I initially thought it was an acrobat viewer problem, but it seems to be effecting print. Please let me know if anyone knows the answer to this problem. thanks!

PDF settings? Flattener settings? Overprint and trapping settings? You need to be much more specific. Eitehr way, ask in the ID forum.

  • PDF for Print On Demand publishing from Acrobat Online?

    Hi,
I have a *.doc file created in Word 2007 that I want to make into a press-quality pdf (for printing as a book by Amazon CreateSpace.)
There are no images or objects of any kind -- only text.
Is there a way to make a PDF/x with embedded fonts from Acrobat's online subscription service? Or anything else I can do short of buying the full software?
And if not, then what is better to use -- the PDF you do get online, or the PDF/A you can make right from Word. Or are both unacceptable?

Is there a way to make a PDF/x with embedded fonts from Acrobat's online subscription service?
Post your question in the forum for acrobat.com.

  • Exporting a PDF for print, the PDF does not show a shadow effect

I have a drop shadow effect on an EPS object and some type that does not appear when I export the file as a PDF for print. The settings I have it set to are: Adobe PDF Preset: "High Quality Print", Interactive Elements: "Include Appearance", and Color Conversion: "No Color Conversion".
If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it!

    Will,
Yes, I set my transparency blending space to CMYK. It didn't work.
I don't have a particular reason I am using an EPS over AI other than that's the type of file this object (logo) was saved as. I can get an AI. Is there any particular reason you recommend not using an EPS?

  • Okay to resize links in IDCS3 if exporting as PDF for print?

I'd like to know if it's okay to resize linked images (tifs, psds) in InDesign CS3 when the ID file will be exported to a press-quality pdf for printing. I size my images to desired dimensions and ppi in PSD before placing them as links in InDesign, but I have been told that this is not necessary if the ID file will be converted to PDF for print. I need any advice on best practice for this! Thanks in advance. Karen

For well over 90% of the cases I'd say you're wasting your time doing
that in Photoshop. If the scaling is dramatic and it's a very high end
job you might want to do it in Photoshop to adjust the sharpening, but
    otherwise, don't bother.

  • Problems with exporting PDF for Print

    Hi all,
I would appreciate some help with exporting my indesign document (using v9.2, 32x) to PDF for print.
I have a number of images and text objects in the document and all links seem to be in place.
However when I come to export the document to print PDF, the PDF file is corrupted and has a size of 0 bytes. The export worked fine earlier when I did a test, but since I have added a few more images, everytime I go to export it, it will not work!!
I would be grateful for any help with this, it is infuriating when I have deadlines to meet! Many thanks.

I'd try a 'save as idml', reopen, then export.
If no go, rename your images folder (if separate) to break the links to images, and try exporting just the previews (you can't use this output, but it will tell you if there's a bad original image file). If a bad image, open images and re-save.
If still no go, try a full computer shut down and try again...

  • Difference between InDesign and Photoshop PDFs for printing?

Hi, rather new to the whole printing business, forgive me.
I have both InDesign and Photoshop, but I am better versed in Photoshop. Is there a significant difference between the capabilities for saving a PDF for print between the two? Also, would someone else be able to tell which program I made the PDF with?
    Thanks in advance.

Like most operations, one tool or the other is more appropriate according to the makeup of the task. It's not just about which PDF is somehow "better," (there are many ways to produce PDF's, and the quality of output isn't necessarily directly dependent upon the originating application), but rather which tool is the correct one for the job.
For instance, a movie poster can certainly be done completely in Photoshop to good effect. But, if I was laying out the pages of a textbook, where images and longer passages of paragraph-based text were to be mixed, the typographical and document assembly capabilities of InDesign would be indispensible. That's just an example. The very essence of art and design is learning and devising ways to use the available tools alone and in combination to produce a particular result, effect, or solution.

  • Merging numbers documents into single PDF for emailing

I have 23-50 numbers documents (invoices) that I want to send as one single PDF (to save time).
When I select them all in Finder and open in Preview they are not full size and are rotated the wrong way.
When I open them seperately in Numbers and cmd P they show up fine covering the whole A4 paper and are rotated correctly.
Is there any way of sending multiple Numbers files as one PDF, or separate PDFs without having to open each one and Cmd P > PDF and drag/drop into Mail??
Trying to save time, as we have 23-50 of these every week to do!
We don't want to save them as PDFs as we create the documents as this takes up space on the computer - and there's loads of them!
Hoping someone will know the answer.
Thanks for taking the time to help

    Hi again mm,
Use a master document in Numbers to temporarily hold copies of each invoice, each on a separate Sheet.
As you complete each invoice, copy that table and then go to the temporary master document. Add a new Sheet and delete the default table that appears. Paste the new invoice. If the invoice has formulas, Menu > Edit > Paste Formula Results (because in Numbers, the formulas will not link back to the original document).
When you are ready to email this master document, Menu > File > Print... and in Print Preview panel on the right > Print All Sheets:
Click on the Print... button (it won't print yet). Bottom left of the print dialogue choose Save As PDF
That is the PDF for you to email and then delete. *
I tried this with an "invoice" on each of two Sheets. Not tried with 23-50 invoices .
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • PDF for Print with interactive buttons

In ID CS4 when exporting a book to PDF, the buttons were automatically added when "interactive elements" were checked in the export dialog box. In ID CS5, the export book to PDF requires you to select the "for Print" or "Interactive". I want to create a single file that can be used for print and has some interactive elements included.
When I select export for PDF "Interactive" the two page spreads (8.5 x 11) turn to one large spread (11 x 17). I don't want the large spreads, but I do want the interactive buttons (return to last page viewed) I have at the bottom of the page.
Is there a setting I am missing?
This worked in CS4, why is it not letting me do the same thing in CS5??
    Thanks for your help!
