Several of my purchased songs are not appearing in my laptop itunes

I purchased them via itunes app on my iphone, but many are not appearing on my laptop's itunes program. I have synced my phone and laptop several times. Any idea how I can fix this?

Hello, cimartin.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This could be a result of Automatic Downloads not being enabled.  The best option would be to download the missing music via the steps in the second article below.

  • ITunes says my iPod is synced but songs are not appearing.

I had to start all over with my iPod because all of my files were erased. I downloaded a bunch of new songs and videos and when I sync my iPod, a message appears saying that three of the files cannot be copied. I used to get that before too, so no big deal. But when I look on my iPod, the songs are not there. It is not telling me that it cannot be synced and the bar at the bottom of the preferences page or w/e says that I have 1.60 GB of music, 795.1 MB of video, and 25.42 MB of 'other'. I have already authorized this computer. Why won't it sync properly?

iTunes can "sync" an iPod, and not transfer any songs.  You may need to set up or update automatic syncing in iTunes for the iPod.  Otherwise, syncing may sync nothing.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, the iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
Second, when you set up automatic syncing, the iPod's existing content is replaced.  Any songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.  Is that OK?  If that's a problem, please post back.
Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar.  To the right, the iPod's Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This setting enables automatic syncing.  If your iTunes music library can fit on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Then, "everything" (that is music) syncs to the iPod when you click Apply.  Going forward, any changes to the music library sync automatically to the iPod, at the next opportunity.
Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlist, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select (checkmark) what you want on the iPod from the lists below.  For example, you can have playlists in your iTunes library with songs you want on the iPod.  On the iPod's Music screen, select those playlists under Playlists.  When you click Apply, the songs in your selections sync to the iPod.  Going forward, to update your iPod, update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time the iPod is connected (or when you click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes automatically.

  • There are songs that I have purchased that are not showing up in my iTunes or in my cloud.

I purchased these songs a couple years back maybe in like 2010 maybe even before that. When I brought a new iPhone and Mac I assumed all of my music would be in my iCloud but there are multiple sons that I have purchased that are not there. When I look on the ITunes Store it will say that they have been purchased but doesn't give me then download option. What should I do?

also these do not even show up in the "purchased" folder in my library. How do i resolve this problem?

  • I have downloaded itunes but it does not appear on my laptop, itunes are saying it has

    HI
I have tried to download iTunes onto my laptop, but its not appearing on my screen, iTunes are saying its downloaded ?

Downloaded into your Download folder, but not yet installed. You have to install it.
If you can't find the iTunes.exe in the Download folder, use your computer's Search facility to look for it.

  • HT203164 I have purchased several books on tape via my computer and now want to sync them to my ipod....I can't find the appropriate buttons to do that.  Also though I have receipts for books purchased they are not showing up on my Itune purchased list.

I have purcase several audio books via Itunes and they are on my computer however I have been unable to figure out how to transfer (sync??) them to my Ipod.  Also I have receipts for several Itune audio books but they are not showing up on my purchased list. Help!!!

lizdance40, audio books are NOT available for redownload. Books with words areavailable for redownload.

If iTunes still carries the books, they ARE available to download from the cloud, either to the computer or your iPod Touch directly.
Open iBooks on the device and tap on 'purchased'.
    download.
iTunes does not garentee to carry a book forever, a serious flaw.  If you can't find the book in iTunes anymore and didn't keep it on the computer, or backed up, it may be gone.
    To add audio books to the iPod;
you have to check the box at the bottom section of the Books screen that says, "sync audio books"

  • HT204088 Purchased songs are not available.

I purchased music on my iPhone.  I connected my phone to my computer to sync. Once I synced, the last 4 songs I purchased are now not on my phone or my computer.  I go to the iTunes store to check for Available Downloads and I receive a message that everything has been downloaded.  I checked my most recent purchases in my Apple account and the 4 songs are listed.  How can I retrieve my purchased songs?

See if anything here helps: iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.

  • Why is it that past purchased songs do not show up on my ITunes?

Songs previously purchased over the years are not showing up in my purchased or are showing up as albums not currently in US store. I am assuming as I changed e-mail addresses through the years they used to follow me and would continue. I should not have to pay for previously purchased music.

Content acquired via iTunes is permanently tied to the Apple ID it was acquired with.
If the email address associated with the Apple ID was simply updated, this should be a non-issue.
However, if a new Apple ID was created, there are no past purchases from previous Apple IDs associated with it.
Sign in with and authorize the computer for those old Apple IDs.
Download the content purchased with those old Apple IDs.
STOP creating new Apple IDs simply because the email address has changed.

  • Some purchased songs are not transferring from itunes to ipod even others from the same album did.

Originally the songs were only partially downloaded. After completing the downloads to itunes it was suggested to de authorize the computer and then authorize the computer. Still unable to transfer to classic ipod. Even tried resetting ipod.
    Any suggestions?

yeah, a little box comes up that says "the file ------ is not supported by the ipod" or some blah like that, and then theres this little button with a plus sign that you can click on and right next to it says 'see 181 total problems" and then it gives you a list of the things that didnt transfer. other than that, everything is fine.(well except for the fact that my music isnt transferring, of course.) its kinda new-ish, i got it in july, and its worked fine until now.

  • My purchased ringtones are not showing up on my iTunes account?! Where are they??

The screen on my laptop has an internal crack so im using my mom's laptop for now. When I connected my iPhone to the computer, I couldn't do anything without syncing my phone which meant everything got erased! I wasn't too upset because I backed up everything on iCloud. Well for some reason, it didn't back up anything and I lost all my media. No biggie. I added most of the songs and apps back. I tried to add the ringtones I've purchased from iTunes but they're not showing up under the "purchased" section of my iTunes account. I don't know why they're not showing up. It's at least 20 ringtones that I've purchased at $1.29 each! Please help!!

I purchased three ringtones on my iPhone 5. They installed quickly and I was easily able to assign them to contacts. The next time I connected my iPhone to iTunes on my computer the ringtones disappeared from my iPhone. They were still showing in iTunes ringtones section on my computer. They showed up on my iTunes accounts page as being purchased too. I tried everything suggested on the forums to get my purchased ringtones to show on my phone again, with no success.
I started trying different things out of desperation and finally lucked upon a solution. I opened iTunes on my computer. Under the Library section I opened Tones (left side of screen same section as music, movies, etc.). When the tones section opened it showed my three ringtones. I dragged the three ringtones to the desktop. I then deleted the three ringtones from the tones menu. It asked if I wanted to delete them from iTunes completely or just from the tones section. I chose to delete them from the tones section only. Once they were deleted From the tones section i went back to the desktop and dragged the three ringtones from the desktop back to the tones section. The computer automatically synced to my phone and VIOLA! the three ringtones appeared on my iPhone again.
Extra suggestion. I have been using an app from the iTunes Store named Ringtone Maker Pro. It takes songs from my iTunes library and converts them to ringtones. It does a great job. There is a video attached that shows exactly what to do step by step.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help: Songs Do Not Appear When Importing an itunes Library XML file

I have 2 apple IDs and 2 libraries I want to combine. I've been working on this for hours. I found detailed instructions on making sure all the right preferences are checked, locations are in public folders, and so on. There are no error messages when I import the file but no songs appear/download. I also cannot get files into windows media player using any of the directions I've found online. I have windows 8.1
On a side note, I, like everyone else grew up with computers so most basic problems I've always been able to troubleshoot. Windows 8.1 and Itunes software is so unecessarily complicated and hard to work with. If this is how advanced software is going to work, I have a new found appreciation for my Grandma because I don't understand it at all. How about we go back to folders with artist names instead of giant XML files. How about we drag and drop. I'm so ****** off at this point. I just don't understand how this is going to be fixed and my 1000s I've spent on music is all down the toilet beause of ****** programs and no customer service.

    Two things contribute to this.
One is that some songs might be tagged as Part Of A Compilation (see the Get Info on those songs/albums) in which case they will not show up under the artist.
Second, is that an artist needs at least two different Albums identified for their songs to all list under the artist. In other words, if you import a CD with album name then add a handful of misc songs without album names associated, those handful will not show up under the artist name.
But add an album name to at least one of those handful of misc. songs and then ALL of the songs should show up under the artist.
You don't have to do it for all of them, just enough to have two different albums identified with the artist. But in general, it is a good idea to make sure your tunes have Song name, artist name, and album name associated with them as a minimum.

  • Imported songs do not appear in library (iTunes 10.0.1)

When I import songs from a CD, the songs are not appearing under Music in iTunes.
The track info is properly displayed for the mounted CD itself and the songs are correctly imported (green checkboxes appear, the MP3 files are placed in the correct folder under "Music/iTunes/iTunes Music", and the MP3 files are playable in Quicktime).
I've tried re-importing the songs in iTunes using the File > Add to Library function, but no luck. This has happened with multiple CDs.
Songs that I have bought through Amazon were successfully imported.
Is this an iTunes 10.0.1 bug? I haven't successfully imported a CD since I upgraded.
Is my library corrupt? Is there a way to rebuild it?
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Details:
    iTunes 10.0.1
Import settings: MP3 encoder, high quality (160kbps), use error correction

It turns out that this is an identified issue. See the thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2565869&start=0&tstart=0
(I searched for a thread on this topic before posting, honest!)
For what it's worth, the problem with the two CDs I tried importing before I posted this has magically healed itself and I can now see them in the library. No idea why. I haven't yet tried to import more.

  • Songs purchased are not appearing in the cloud.

I purchased several songs after turning on iCloud. The recently purchased songs are not in the cloud. I can't figure out why.

I'm having a similar situation with my library. Some suggested that reinstalling itunes helps but thats not the case. there is something wrong with the Icloud and not many support agents are helping out with the situation. The best suggestion is that you try to find away to contact apple themselves.

  • My downloads are not appearing in music

After adding music (either by CD or by itunes purchase) my songs are not appearing in Music.

I'm having the same issue.  Just downloaded two songs and they show up everywhere but the iTunes music library.  No matter what I try, I can't make them show up there.  Never had the problem before today.
