Several privacy/ tracking add-ons, not sure which one causes this (MAC): clicking certain thumbnail photos (like @ some catalogs), opening some websites (like The Week), and even a calendar at my bank, my computer stalls then freezes. Any ideas?

The stall is 30-60 sec, then a tiny window pops up. No words, but two buttons at the bottom - gray/white on the left, blue on the right. Clicking these does nothing.
I CAN move the cursor, but CAN'T change or close tabs or scroll. I CAN use the top apple bar, but when I select "Restart" I get a "Firefox has prevented shutdown" error msg.
All I can do is manually press the power button and shut down that way.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!

So what? The second-hand shop you bought it from didn't follow the right procedures. You also didn't follow the right procedures to make sure that iPhone was not in Activation Lock. Only a proof of purchase from the ORIGINAL retail store would do any good at all. Return the device to where you bought it and demand your money back. If they refuse, either get a lawyer and/or turn in the device to local police. If you're in possession of stolen property, then the cops won't care about where you got it from.

Windows 7 is not a computer, its an operating system. It can be an excellent computer rivaling a Mac or be bargain basement offering outdone by even the most modest Mac.
Laptop or Desktop? Large screen or small? Features? Price range?
So without any real context there's no way to say what you should or should not buy. Or what that Windows 7 computer can do currently, so as to suggest a similar offering from Apple.

HT1349 help I would like to authorize my new laptop for my itunes library I had 5 authorized computers on my account not sure which ones they were one of the autorized computers has crashed so i want to transfer all of my account history onto my compute

You can deauthorise all 5 at once, then reauthorize the one you want.

I cannot download any add-ons--connection faliure with mozilla add ons--not sure what this means or how to fix it

You have or had an extension installed (MegaUpload toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.12 to Firefox/2.0.0.13
You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page:
* general.useragent.extra.firefox Firefox/2.0.0.13 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website. 
Filter: general.useragent 
If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.

Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions. 
You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension, you do not need them to run Java applets.

I now use Firefox, but not sure which product number. Mozilla has been automatically downloading an update. When it is downloaded, the browser does not work. I keep having to restore the computer, and before long you download again. Help.

I'd also like a possible explanation as to why the new version will not work. I know that Microsoft downloaded a bunch of changes (12) that also seemed to screw up my computer. I have switched off their automatic downloads.

Your System details show you as using version 3.6.12 of Firefox, that is not the latest version, it would be normal practice to update to the latest version, which is why you are being offered the updates. See also [[Software Update Failed]]

Would Like to get an iPod but not sure which one would be the best for me..

i have done some research on the iPods, the easiest to use, which ones are best for fitness workouts, etc. I had an iPod Classic sometime ago but I ruined it because I tried to install the program it came with but it was already installed and the second install I did ruin it. At least this is what the genius bar guy said.
Anybody who knows iPods fairly well. I am new to my MacBook Pro and I would like to be able to synch the music in iTunes with the iPod for music for various activities. I also have trouble with the ear phones that come with the iPods, so I was looking at a website that had earphones ranging from $300 to $500 approx for people who have various needs in addition to using them at studios while mixing new music. I just want a pair that will stay in my odd shaped ears, have great quality, and work well with the iPods.
Any recommendations on iPod for exercise. I am not big on videos but having some good music gets me through a hard workout. One problem I have is that the genus guys could not fix the multiple setting, software, preference settings, etc. that had become corrupted in my old Mac and because several genius guys could not fix the numerous problems they gave me a new MacBook Pro. However, they recommended that since my problems were all setting, software issues and problems I have add with adding music in iTunes, that none of my pictures, music or setting be transferred to the new MBP but to start over. They did not even save any of my iTunes and pictures which I thought was odd but what could I say since they were giving me a new MBP. If anybody has a legal way of transferring from my friend;s iTunes the music he has that I can use for the yoga and mind-body classes I teach, which I am getting nervous on because I start the classes next week. I do not have the money to buy the yoga and other fitness music in hours like I use to have. My friend will let me transfer some of his music that he had from his own cds and some but few from iTunes, but that I could get them on myTunes if I could find out how to do that.

Extending a controller, but not sure which one to extend

Hi Tech Gurus,
I have a task ( validate a input field say Number) and my approach is to extend a controller and write my code in the ProcessFormRequest section.
But i am unable to know which controller to extend ?
My approach is - for the particular page i have to see the Personalize page and get the Document Name out of there. The About Page will show all the controller involved with the particular input field Number.
Then have to see that xml file in the JDev and then extend the controller.
But my problem is when i look at About Page. i find multiple Number there and so cannot track which one is the one pointing my input field and thus cannot conclude which controller and view objects are associated with it.
Hope the question is clear.

Pretty much any mac will work other than the Mac Minis and iBooks.
FCS2 will work fine on any MBP, iMac, or Mac pro.
Depending what your needs are I would get something that will let you grow as much as possible. This means a Mac Pro. I use a PowerMac G5 and a MacBook Pro.
You can save money by purchasing Apple Refurbished from the online Apple store. These machines are like new, have the same warranty as new, but cost less.

Looking for an lcd replacement screen. Not sure which one is needed.

Hello, first time on this forum so I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. I recently received a Toshiba Satellite with a broken lcd screen, first time I've ever worked on a laptop. Removed the screen without a hitch but I am not sure exactly which monitor I can replace it with. I have taken photos of the model and other numbers.
I'm not sure if 2 or 3 different screens can fit into the same laptop or you need the exact screen.
Posting pics below of the numbers of the back on the lcd screen. Looking for an exact replacement or something that will work in its place for sure.

What series to buy for this use... really want the lenovo but not sure which one

i am doubting between t400/t400s and x200/x200s
what am i using it for:
- well i'm into internet marketing and some web development
- using web analytics sites, assessment sites, promotional sites, you tube, twitter, facebook etc.
- so i surf the internet (wireless : at home through wlan and when travelling wifi)
- email
- i have to be able to design a banner or webpromo on regular basis for which i use primarely photoshop
- i really need to be able to use it in light environmenst & outdoors as i like to be in the sun :-)
for personal use:
- viewing streaming full screen video (like a tv show i missed or you tube movies)
- download movies (using quickpar/winrar to unpack and view on tv through external harddrive)
- occasional photo editing again using photoshop (i whatch the pics on tv)

T400s, X200 and X200s are mainly built for road warriors where they don't want to carry extra weight and yet still have a powerful enough laptop for their light photoshop work, document processing, HD movies, powerpoint and publisher, etc.
For outdoors you should look to the new 'Special series of X200t (t for tablet)' which has this new screen that is specifically designed for people whom use their laptop in the outdoor environment providing maximum brightness and minimal reflectivity.

For movies and streaming hd movies, any of these laptop would be sufficient, as T8xxx, T9xxx Penryn processors are have SSE 4 included that have special algorithm that increases processor efficiency for HD movie decoding. Also Intel X4500 MHD integrated graphics card are specifically designed for blu ray and hd movie decoding without using CPU resources.
If you do light photoshop work, then any of these laptops are fine. 9 cells in a T400s or X200 or X200s should get you upwards of 5 hours use on a single charge.
The T400s have built in displayport out, which is missing in the T400, while the X200 and X200s can use this port only through the ultrabase dock.
The one thing that T400 can be optioned with is the dual gpu if you get the ATI graphics card, which includes the X4500 and ATI 3470 which one use depends on whether you are after graphic processing power or battery life.

I always suggest going to monoprice.com for cheap priced and good quality cables, adapters, aother videio/audio realated hardware.years.

I am trying to reinstall Logic Studio 7 and I cannot find the serial number. It's suppose to be in one of the installation booklets. I'm not sure which one. Could you help me?

When i use the installation disc it tells me that the serial number is located in one of the installation booklets, and it doesn't explain to me which one. Can you help me?

Great idea! But I removed the e-mail and associated password from my account years ago. I was very surprised to see it show up anywhere. It certainly is not listed on my current account with Apple. Now what? Can I back out of the update? Jeez, I thought I had totally eraser that retired e-mail address and have no idea what the password is. I could play with it but fear being 'locked out' and just adding to my woos. Thanks.
