Several Problems - 9300 - Rebooting / Error 601 etc

I've had my Curve 9300 for about a year and it's started doing the following
1. Keeps rebooting at complete random intervals. Sometimes it can be on for a while and be fine, then it reboots. sometimes it reboots as soon as it recovers from a reboot. It also seems to reboot whenever i DO anything. If I delete an email it reboots. If I open something basic and it has to load something, it appears to fail doing so and reboots. 
2. The trackpad (which i've replaced) stops working now and then - the only thing it lets me do is press it down to select things. To get it working again I have to hold it down to bring the "select options" for whatever im hovered over, then fiddle around with it.
3. I've tried reinstalling an older OS for the phone, via instructions on this forum, but it still says I'm running the same OS I was before the reinstall (I deleted the Vendor.xml file before doing it)
4. Then I try deleting everything on the phone, and as soon as it gets to WLAN Profiles, the phone crashes saying "App Error 601 - Reset"
I'm at a complete loss what to do.

But, I would suggest you re-attempt the OS reload...something did not go correctly with that, given what you reported.
At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:

From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:

Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

    Less than one yr. old, Mac mini OS X  10.8.5  -  First problem started a few days ago when I was suddenly disconnected while viewing YouTube, (black screen with "error msg) waited awhile and was able to connect again only to have it disconnect again. This went on intermittently for a day until I called my internet provider, they rebooted my modem and everything seemed to get back to normal…. still get disconnected but not nearly as much.  Since then, I am also randomly getting the little colored pinwheel, and in iTunes "Store" I get the "rebuffering msg" box while trying to listen to songs for potential purchase etc.  Don't know if this is all related or separate issues.  I am extremely NOT tech savvy, I bought this Mac mini mostly for music (iTunes, slowdown, youtube etc.) & for general use. I have no games etc., hardly no videos or pictures.  Any help that I can understand would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I did these steps and was able to reinstall without any problems.
    1. Run registry clean tool that came with the packaged software
         \Additional_Tools\RegCleanTool
    2. Then run Uninstall - System/Standalone Engine/Optional Standadlon ......
         This is under the Software Life-Cycle Options-Uninstall
    3. Check if there are any files located in
         \Program Files\sapinst_instdir     -
         delete this directory
         \Documents and Settins\{user}\Local settings\Temp    -
       delete any references to SAP
    The above steps helped me to reinstall the Trial software. 
    Make sure that the system for the install meet the following requirements:
    u2022     Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows Server 2003 or Windows Vista
    u2022     Hostname must not exceed 13 characters
    u2022     NTFS-File system
    u2022     Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Firefox 1.0 or higher
    u2022     At least 1 GB RAM (2-4 GB recommended)
    u2022     Pagefile size according to your RAM settings.
    u2022     Intel Pentium III/1.1 GHz or higher (or compatible)
    u2022     30 GB hard disk space temporary during installation - 24 GB permanent
            The actual hard disk space required is more than 32GB.  It is best to install the SAP directory on a separate drive if possible. Othewise you have to make sure that the drive where you install SAP has sufficient space for you system and the SAP install.
    u2022     High-resolution monitor (1024x768 or higher, 256 colors)
    u2022     Make sure that no other SAP system is installed on your computer
    u2022     The SAP system requires several ports for communication services. Therefore the file %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc\services must not include an entry for the ports 3200, 3600, 3900 and 8000. A possible entry can be excluded by using the hash symbol (#). (Note: The entry sapmsNSP 3600 for dialog instances may not exist, as it is set to 0 in Trial versions).
    u2022     If no DHCP server is available on your network (which dynamically determines the IP address) or your computer is not connected to any network, you need to install the virtual interface adapter MS Loopback Adapter.

       1.7GB RAM
       20GB System Drive
       40GB Data drive (SAP installed here)
        MS Loopback Adapter with address 10.10.0.10 (entry in hosts file 10.10.0.10             localhost)

    I have installed the latest version of visual editor and also the emf and gef version required,the problem comes when i try to create a new Vsual class after i choose the property of the class such as name and so on and clicked finish My visual editor is empty.....the palette for visual component doesn't appear.
    The visual editor creates a little window and duplicates it evrey time i click in the visualEditor page......please help me...i don't know what i have to do.... i tried the impossible but visual editr still doesn't work!

    and I have tried it twice to download WLS6.1 and always the same problem....so

    As for the last point (quick deploy of ejbs without compiling the classes)- Has
    anybody managed to do it? It really could be helpful is somebody, who managed
    to deploy a bean like this (without compiling) could post it to me, so I can examine
    it...

    I first have to explain that several months ago after an apple update, I always have a dialog which ask for my 'system/keychain' password... something like that which I don't have, it's not my login password.
    I finally delete the annoying ~"system keychain" sorry don't remember the exact name which was always asking a password on my PB and PM and reboot. Now no more password is asked but it seems some problems are appearing any idea how to repear all those strange errors???
    sudo ? recreate the keychain ???
    My system is pure, no hack, anti-virus, nothing. Repairing keychain does not help, repairing disk authorization neither, tools from versiontracker neither.
    I have a snow airbase.

    can you be more clear when this happens, is it on startup? can you start up successfuly? have you safe booted?

  • Reboot hangs and takes several minutes to reboot

    Hello fellow archers I have a Vaio laptop and my system started to hang and takes several minutes to reboot.
    I have no real clue as to why since poweroff works fine and reboot used to work fine.
    I did a system update. And more recently migrated to systemd, may not be related
    edit: I found a workaround. Adding the following to my grub kernel line
    reboot=pci
    But it does not reboot quite the same way, meaning the power led no longer goes off and back on.
    Still haven't quite figured out why I can no longer reboot normally without this workaround.

    I am also having this problem. When trying to reboot, I get an endless cycle of the BIOS screen, then "MACHINE ERROR", then back. Running the same dmesg command as snoxu results in a similar error message. I am forced to shutdown by holding the power button. Upon rebooting, I get an error message that all extensions have been turned off (using Gnome Shell). Then I have to logout and login.
    Shutting down and then restarting works fine.
    Additional info:
    System76 Gazelle Professional laptop
    syslinux, systemd, GDM, Gnome Shell

  • Several Problems with the GeForce3 Ti200

    I am having several problems with my GeForce3 Ti200 card.  First, anytime I click on the MSI Clock or MSI Information tabs in the Display Properties Window, it gives me the following error message:
    "Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    Once I close that message, the tabs disappear until I reopen the Display Properties window again.  I have updated the drivers to the most recent version and still the same problem.
    Next....When the additional nVidia drivers load...ie NVidea WDM A/V Crossbar...etc...  All load fine except the one titled nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal).  Once again, I have downloaded the most recent drivers and none would help.  Here is my system information:
    798 Mhz AMD Athlon
    512 MG memory
    Windows XP Version 2002 SP1
    Creative SP Live
    NEC Multisunc 95
    TDK CDRW Generic DVD
    Hard Drive WD 60Gig
    Any help would be great!!

    I have finally succeeded in making my video capture work.
    However, not without a few more headaches.  My "Double Image - Half Height" capture was my own stupidity....  I had the captures set for 30 fps -- setting them to 29.97 fixed that.
    BUT I found this out when I had the latest nVidia display drivers (53.03) paired with the latest nVidia WDM drivers (2.20).  The glorious full-height, single-frame screen capture had a bright white strip across the video approximately 1/3 of the total height.  
    You have to understand that I've been Googling this problem for several days...  The one thing I think I've found out is that _Nobody_, including MSI, nVidia (especially nVidia!), or anywhere else, has really solved the problems people are having with these WDM drivers.
    So here are the reasons I found out there for a White Bar across the picture:
    (1) Improper installation of drivers - this supposedly causes a problem with 720 X 480 captures only.  I had the bar on 640 X 480 captures as well.
    (2) nVidia has gotten into bed with Bill Gate$(Micro$oft), Jack Valenti(Hollywood) and others to "protect digital rights".  Newer versions of the WDM drivers (since which version? Does anyone know?) PUT the white bar across the video on purpose if the video you are capturing is copyrighted.  The thing is, I was capturing an 8mm home video!
    So, you decide, reason 1 or reason 2...  I decided to try for #2.  
    I uninstalled WDM 2.20, ran the DriverCleaner2, and installed WDM 1.08 drivers.  Guess what?  No white bar.  Now I can capture with Wincoder, VirtualDub, or Director's Cut 6.5.  This is with nVidia Display Drivers 53.03 and WDM drivers 1.08 installed.  I'm now thinking of the folks at nVidia the same way I think of Bill G and Jack V;  they are all a bunch of rich, greedy scumbags.   It is OK with them if they sacrifice your home videos in the name of their wealth.

    Mail is suffering several problems.
    first of all, I made all the standard routines... permissions, etc.
    1) on one machine it starts, the dock icon is bouncing endless, and even forcing the index rebuilt, doesn't help.
    2) on another machine, mail is not recognized by Safari, it is not there it says (My fear is that is Safari the problem? Strange)...
    Do you have any other issue with Mail?

    I have reinstalled the combo update, last night... The Mail app works ok on one mac, but is isolated, so no other app can send to Mail.app any email content.

  • Severe problem with 'Drill to Related' using drill icon

    I have a severe problem with 'Drill to Related' in Discoverer Plus (10.1.2.54.25) using the drill icon of a worksheet:
    1. Though existing no items to drill to are shown in the context menu (or pop-up list), instead it says just 'Drill to Related...'
    2. Clicking on menue item 'Drill to Related...' results in 50% processor load (permanent) and no further update of the browser window (IE 7.0.5730.11) containig Discoverer Plus. There is no recovery of that state within about 20 minutes.
    This behaviour is both highly reproducible and annoying.
    When using the drill dialog instead of the icon the expected items are shown and 'Drill to Related' works fine. Although that is a workaround I don't think it acceptable to tell the end-users to use it.
    I searched metalink for a hint but couldn't find anything.
    Can anyone help?

    We still had to apply the patch for the bug I mentioned earlier in this thread in order to be able to see and select an item to drill to. Unfortunately the problem with the processor load up to 50% and nothing happening is still there.
    By the way IE 7 is certified now according to the Oracle certification information.

    I've had the same problem. I went to dedicated servers (not using MTS) and the symptom has not re-occured. Oracle is aware of the problem and is working on it.

    Problem is that the exception is not form any PrintWriter object i had instantiated in my servlet code. Infact, the exception comes from a class of tomcat when it is trying to log some information. The basic thing is I am contacting a Geographical positioning server from servlet. The contact is fine and I get requested information back from server. But, once the control comes back to server, I get that exception. If I dont contact the geo server, I dont get any exception.

    You're not saying what problems you have with OE, so how should anyone guess?
    There is no such thing as a 'Thunderbird account'. You do have an account with your email provider. You can use OE or Thunderbird to access that account.
    But Thunderbird is not your email provider.

  • Several problems under Arch

    New to using Arch64 and having several problems.
    Hal seems to be mounting a random 100mb partition from one of my windows XP NTFS drives.
    Anything I download using firefox is corrupt, and does not appear under firefox's "downloads" section. - 2.0.0.6 (Any file downloaded is labeled a "plain text document" that is unreadable with 0 byte size)
    My understanding is that Wine now offers a 64bit version, but this still requires multilib which arch is not, yet I've found no helpful guide to arrive at a multilib arch to use wine.
    Does pacman not have a method for globally uninstalling no longer needed dependencies, or is this handled at the "pacman -Rd" level.

    New problem is fglrx broke after a pacman -Syu (updated fglrx during it.)

    I was wrong on hal, after bringing the drive back i noticed the 100mb partition hal is mounting is  "really" supposed to be my /boot partition.  But when i boot up it uses the "boot" folder mounted on "/" named "boot" instead of "/dev/sdc1" which is supposed to be "/boot".
    If I change it in fstab to mount /dev/sdc1 partition correctly as /boot, it boots from "/dev/sdc3"'s /boot instead, then loads /dev/sdc1 as "/boot" afterwards.
    Any suggestions, it is hard to explain.
