Several problems with Mavericks on 10.6.8

Sorry to say that, but Mavericks for me and for now is a crap! After upgrading my iMac from 10.8.4 everything seems to be ok, but at my work I've got 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and since i made an upgrade everthing went bad.
1. first of all - in Finder sometimes i can't scroll down! Like i said sometimes, the page won't go down. I've got 1000 pictures and I need to use END button on my keyboard to go down. And it's not the mouse problems, I've checked already several solutions with magic mouse and regular one. It's the system fault.
2. secondly - in Final Cut Pro 7.0.3. there's a problem with reconnecting media. When i use media from other computer in a network first connection is ok. I go simply throught Final Cut - go import or Log to Transfer and everything is ok. But when i quit FCP or do simply quit any network reconnecting media is simply impossible.
Don't want to say anything bad, but for me it's like crappy Vista.... pure desing, no functionality. I want to upgrade my system to feel more comfortable, but since Lion it's like a nightmare!
Still wait for good upgrade!

As far as the cleanliness goes, all I meant was that , I have tried reinstalling a number of different ways to see if anything helped, so i tried10.6.0 - 10.6.3 then update 10.6.4 also tried10.6.0 directly to10.6.4 and also tried10.6.0 - 10.6.2 - 10.6.4, so i have tried a few different ways, without any change in the outcome. none of these combinations involved restoring my data from time machine, as I want to isolate the problem before putting my data on.
I only got them to run that test so far, not really sure I want to spend a lot of money only to be toldits a software issue. I will go down that track once I have explored a bit more i think.
one thing that I am wondering in regards to the "bad graphics card" is that, there is an update for my card (http://support.apple.com/kb/dl938) however, when i tried to install this it said "computer does not need this" however my version number tells me its the original revision of my graphics card?

The REv ID says0x0000 which indicates to me that it has never had an update put on it, which made me wonder if it does need it but being that the requirements are 10.5, that perhaps it thinks i dont need it because of the OS version?

Performance problem with Mavericks.

Performance problem with Mavericks. My Mac is extremly slow after upgrading to Mavericks. What can i do to solve that?

If you are still experiencing slow down issues, it maybe because of a few other reasons.
Our experience with OS X upgrades, and Mavericks is no exception, is that users have installed a combination of third party software and/or hardware that is incompatible and/or is outdated that causes many negative performance issues when upgrading to a new OS X version.
Your Mac's hard drive maybe getting full.
Do you run any antivirus software on your Mac? Commercial Antivirus software can slow down and negatively impact the normal operation of OS X.
Do you have apps like MacKeeper or any other maintenance apps like CleanMyMac 1 or 2, TuneUpMyMac or anything like these apps, installed on your Mac? These types of apps, while they appear to be helpful, can do too good a job of data "cleanup" causing the potential to do serious data corruption or data deletion and render a perfectly running OS completely dead and useless leaving you with a frozen, non-functional Mac.
Your Mac may have way too many applications launching at startup/login.
Your Mac may have old, non-updated or incompatible software installed.
Your Mac could have incompatible or outdated web browser extensions, plugins or add-ons.
Your Mac could have connected third party hardware that needs updated device drivers.
It would help us to help you if we could have some more technical info about your iMac.

Severe problem with 'Drill to Related' using drill icon

I have a severe problem with 'Drill to Related' in Discoverer Plus (10.1.2.54.25) using the drill icon of a worksheet:
1. Though existing no items to drill to are shown in the context menu (or pop-up list), instead it says just 'Drill to Related...'
2. Clicking on menue item 'Drill to Related...' results in 50% processor load (permanent) and no further update of the browser window (IE 7.0.5730.11) containig Discoverer Plus. There is no recovery of that state within about 20 minutes.
This behaviour is both highly reproducible and annoying.
When using the drill dialog instead of the icon the expected items are shown and 'Drill to Related' works fine. Although that is a workaround I don't think it acceptable to tell the end-users to use it.
I searched metalink for a hint but couldn't find anything.
Can anyone help?

This seems to be a bug that was fixed earlier since we didn't experience it having applied cumulative patch 3 earlier.

We still had to apply the patch for the bug I mentioned earlier in this thread in order to be able to see and select an item to drill to. Unfortunately the problem with the processor load up to 50% and nothing happening is still there.
By the way IE 7 is certified now according to the Oracle certification information.

Several Problems with Visual Editor 1.1

I have installed the latest version of visual editor and also the emf and gef version required,the problem comes when i try to create a new Vsual class after i choose the property of the class such as name and so on and clicked finish My visual editor is empty.....the palette for visual component doesn't appear.
The visual editor creates a little window and duplicates it evrey time i click in the visualEditor page......please help me...i don't know what i have to do.... i tried the impossible but visual editr still doesn't work!

Mmm yes it's true, I have a virus checker on my computer...
and I have tried it twice to download WLS6.1 and always the same problem....so

As for the last point (quick deploy of ejbs without compiling the classes)- Has
anybody managed to do it? It really could be helpful is somebody, who managed
to deploy a bean like this (without compiling) could post it to me, so I can examine
it...

Anyone experiencing severe problems with Aperture3 after loading Lion?

I am experiencing severe problems with my Aperture 3 programme since installing Lion OSX, in fact it is almost unusable after about 15 minutes operation. My computer is only used for photography and is otherwise unburden. I would appreciate any help at allplease.

Severe problems with System Preferences after updating to OS 10.8

After updating my MacBook Pro (2Ghz Intel Core i7) from MacOS 10.6.8 to 10.8 I have severe problems with accesing System Preferences.
For each of the topics (XXX) listed below, I get the following message, when selectiong the topic:
"To use the XXX preference pane, System preferences needs to quit and reopen"/OK/Cancel
After quiting and reopening the same message appears again...

After updating to Mac OS 10.8.1 the problem persist.... Any suggestions or fixes?

1. Open Disk Utility and repair permissions
2. Open Finder, press Option key, select Go > Library, open Preferences folder and delete com.apple.systempreferences.plist
3. Go to System Preferences > Users and Groups, create an user and check if the issue appears
4. Backup the data and press Command and R keys in boot. Open Disk Utility, select the drive, erase it and install Mountain Lion. When Mountain Lion asks for the backup, only move your user files

There is a large thread relating to Gmail, but nothing that sounds like that.
Nobody here knows what Apple is going to do.
You might try removing the Gmail account and then add it back in.

Severe Problem with iPhoto '09

I have s severe problem with my iPhoto. It crashes when I open it and I can't force quit it. I will get the prompt to send apple the crash log, but the application stays open and I'm not able to restart (if I try apple-control-power the mouse freezes).
This is what I have been trying so far:
When I create a new Library with now pictures it works. If then I import my old pictures it crashes some times in between the import task.
If I rebuild the library it crashes also while doing the thumbnails.
I guess it must be some JPGs that are broken, but I wonder why this can be so severe that it crashes the whole system afterward. I have also noticed that I can't copy parts of the iPhoto library, because then the Finder crashes (stops while copying and going on forever. If I want to cancel copying it won't. Also here now way to restart without pressing the power button 5 secs.)
I'd appreciate your help

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, places, faces, calendars etc.
Move the damaged iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library. Drag in the Event Folders one Folder at a time, and this way you’ll soon find the Event or individual jpegs that are causing the issue.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.

Chrome versions 21-26 show severe problems with flash deep links

New Chrome versions (at least versions 21-26) produce severe problems with Adobe Flash concerning deep links.

Since August 2012 all new versions starting from version 21 to 26 (at least 32-bit Windows) do no longer support for example deep links into Flash. I.e. links like:
poly-9.php#two
It does not matter, what deep link you want to jump to (two, three, four etc.), Chrome always starts with „one“ / at the beginning of the Flash-animation.
Like all other browsers (I successfully tested: Opera, Safari, Firefox, Internet-Explorer) Chrome should jump directly to the deep link #two, #three, etc.
It does not matter which flash player I have been using over the last 9 months (at the time 11.6.602.180).
This is a major problem as only my website contains more than 14,000 Flash files with over 100,000 deep links.
In fact, I reported the bug (first noticed with Chrome 21) to Google beginning October 2012 (see bug reports on my page http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=154494). But recently, I got the feeling, that there seems to be little interest in solving this problem. Actually, after I had informed Google about it, they even rolled out new versions of Chrome containing the bugs, instead of repairing it.
Do you know any work around or can you offer any help?

Chrome uses a proprietary build of the plug-in called "PepperFlash" because it's a PPAPI plug-in where the ActiveX and standard plug-in are NPAPI. That may have something to do with it.

Severe problems with illustrator

I am having severe Problems with my Illustrator. Whenever I start it by clicking on the icon, it says that it is unable to set the maximum amount of files that can be opened. So I downloaded the launchAI.command (http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/unable-set-maximum-number-files1.html), but now I cant find my saved files any more. In the dialogue box (whenever I'm saving) it doesnt show any of my folders, and if i save it in a standard one (like the desktop), it doesnt appear there. I cannot find that saved file through any other programm than Illustrators "recently opened" but as soon as its not in that list any more, its gone forever. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, deleted preferences and used the Adobe CS Cleaner - still it is the same. What should I do now?

I've been having several problems with email.
1. I sent email on Dec 10 and the people didn't receive them until Dec 16.
2. I often get two, three or even four copies of the same email in my Thunderbird client.
3. My Moto X (2nd gen) phone sometimes says it can't connect to email.

Could you tell me how long this has been an issue? I noticed you mentnioned Thunderbird; do you experience the same problems when working with your emails directly from the Verizon webmail portal? Also, are there any error messages you notice when the issue occurs? If we can get some answers to these questions it'll help determine our troubleshooting path.

Is anyone have problems with Maverick installation?

I had problems with Maverick installation. It moved slowly and I lost the ability to use my Finder. It was riddled with bugs. I am trying to figure out why. I ended up erasing hard drive and reinstalling Mountian Lion.

No problems with Mavericks here ..
How much free storage space on your iMac?
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
The v10.9 Mavericks file is a little over 5GB's and Mavericks does require a high speed broadband connection.
