Several tracks don't give any sound.

I made a podcast episode, which I have exported into AAC and what not.
Today I opened the project to export an mp3 version, and when i was done I noticed only 2 of the 5 tracks were exported.
So I go back into Garageband, and all but one track is playing sound. The tracks volume bars show the proper changes in volume, but the main volume doesn't budge, except when those two good tracks comes into play.
Anybody know what's wrong?

This is a weird one...
I just finished recording voice on my podcast episode and as I was scrolling backwards & forwards with the scroll wheel or slider on the bottom it was shuddering almost as if it didn't want to be dragged to where I wanted to go. So I went old school and saved the project then quit GarageBand. Reopened and all was good with the scrolling but only a couple of tracks would play much as 1town described. I have signal on all the tracks, all seems good to look at it just no sound. I then opened another project and all was fine in it, full function as expected. Then came back and the issue remains on the new episode.
Could the file some how be corrupted? Any Ideas???

  • Don't get any sound out of my headphone jack

everything seems to be working just fine except I don't get any sound out of my headphones, almost like it is muted?? Ive tried several different headphones and get nothing, it must be something with the ipod itself... any suggestions

thanks for responding! Yeah i've been playing with the volume levels for over a week now. a few days ago i could hear a very faint sound with volume at full blast. im guessing the problem has something to do with the jack itself... either that or some mute setting i am unaware of?

  • I don't have any sound coming from my speakers after updating my HP Envy H8-1513C?????

Since I updated my HP Envy H8-1513C i don't have any sounds coming from my monitors. I also can't seem to get any sync cords for my iphone 4 to work with my computer. These always worked before the update???

I recommend going through the troubleshooting section in this document to see if any of that can resolve your issue.
Have you tried a hard reset yet?

  • HT3986 i installed win 7 on my mac book, and the sound driver was installed successfully, but i don't hear any sound, please help

i installed win 7 on my mac book, and the sound driver was installed successfully, but i don't hear any sound, please help

Is the volume muted? Click on the volume icon in the system tray to see if it shows as muted. If that's the case, I know of a workaround to fix this because if you unmute the speakers now, the condition will come back when you reboot your computer. I don't know the exact steps off the top of my head at the moment as I'm not in front of my machine. Check this first and reply if muting was the problem and I will detail the steps needed to fix the problem.

If you were looking for help, I assume you would have told us about your sound card, how your system is configured, whether you are using a desktop/window manager, which one, the articles in the wiki you have researched, and what you have tried.
Edit: I'm apparently in a bad mood.  I'm going to go outside and do some yard work. It is a beautiful 75 degree F day here in So Cal

  • When playing an app i don't get any sound. any answers?

i don't get any sound when using apps. any answers?

Make sure you did not mute the sound. Locate the side switch and move to its unlocked position. Identifying the side switch: The sound is muted when the switch is in its lock position, an orange circle above, and in down position. The sound is not muted when side switch is in its unlocked position, in up position with nothing n the bottom. If your side switch is switched to lock screen rotation, double tap the home screen button, and sled to the left of the multitask bar. Click on the speaker with a sash through it, and it should transform to a regular speaker.

  • I don't hear any sound from my speakers I have tried all trouble shooting

Please can you help me.  I don't hear any sound from my speakers, I have done all trouble shooting and they all indicate that speakers are working properly

    Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

  • Multiple Apps don't play any sound, Sound stopped playing on audible

Doodle Jump and my Audible Application don't play any sounds and I don't know why. Started happening after I donwloaded skype. I've since deleted the Skype app and it didn't make a difference. The phone rings, and the buttons click when I type, the mute toggle switch isn't flipped, text messages play the alerts I have set.
My thoughts are it's the way the game handles sound output. Haven't tried to play anything on itunes yet to test if its only limited to the audible content playing through the audible app, and the game. Any suggestions?

I'm encountering same problem with iPhone 4, specifically in Skype, Audible, but even iTunes is not outputting sound at times. Restarting iPhone helps. Not ideal though.

Do you have sound coming from the audio output port using headphones?  If so, when the plug is pulled out, is there a red light?

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • In some apps I don't get any sound!

Since the 4.2 update i can't get any sound in some apps. There isn't even any volume available. I get the AirPlay button but I can not change the source.
    Any tips?

Is the notification mute switch (the old rotation lock) 'on' ? Rotation lock is now a software function on the taskbar in 4.2 and the button now mutes notifications e.g. so that you can watch videos or listen to music without hearing email notifications etc.
Rotation lock : double-click the home button, slide from the left, and its the button far right; press home again to exit the taskbar; repeat to switch off rotation lock.
