Severe 8900 curve problems...

I purchased a 8900 curve off amazon and it was working fine for two months. Yesterday however, i had problems while entering my password to unlock the keypad. Although i entered the right password it repeatedly denied me access. I became fed up and removed the battery, hoping that this would solve my problems. When i put the battery back in nothing seemed to work anymore, and the only thing happening till now is the light flashing red in a certain sequence. I'm completely baffled about what to do so i would really appreciate some help.

  • 8900 curve CALENDAR BIG PROBLEM

    Hello. Scuze me if my english isn`t so good. I have a big problem with my agenda(calendar). If for example i have an alarm set to 12:00 it`s possible (not always but in most of the cases) that the phone  give me  another alarm for another hour or even another day. This alarm it`s written first and whne i push the o.k. button the phone give me the original alarm. The problem is very annoying because after that  the false alarm doesn`t ring at her time. I couldn`t get a pattern  and i don`t know what causes this. It`s important for me because I use this phone as a bussiness phone and agenda(calendar) was always very important for me and i choose my phones because of their agenda. I must tell you that i think that this problem is not so rare because i had another 8900 curve with the same problem. I was with it with one problem of  sound quality and this problem at an authorized service and i told to the man at the service about this problem and he said that it is a software problem. In 4 days I receive the phone back with the same problems. I came back at the service and i give it back. In 4 days I get a new phone but SURPRIZE with the same problem. Please verify your phones. Put many alarms and see if they are the same or if you know the solution please help me to solve this problem or simply tell me where should I ask for help.
    I must tell that the problem are with alarms and not with apointment. I use alarm because i have more than 20 of a day at work.

    It`s diificult for me to answer because i don`t have my phone right now. It is in service again. The same problem with the sound and I told them again about the `alarm` problem.Maybe i will receive again a new phone.
    Answer for the first question: I use several alarms every day and for most alarms - not all - that are configured to ring i receive first the text for another alarm, alarm which is configured to ring later at another hour or day and hour, alarm which will not ring anymore at her time to ring  this is very annoying because i lose the alarm and my meeting program is tuined. What happens next, second event is the fact that  If I push the o.k buton i receive the original text for the right alarm.   
    Answer for the second question: I bought my bberry device an year ago, before that I use another tipe of phone ten years. I hope that i answer exactly because i told you before that i don`t have my phone rigth now. I cannot use the hour schedule (meeting) because i have many tasks to do and this require events of 5 minutes or less that1s why i use alarms. It`s not the clock alarm. In my organizer menu i have the comand new alarm..i can tipe the name of the alarm and the hour. With this kind of alarms i had the problem. Yes are the same type as the clock alarm but the organizer permit many alarms of that type. It`s easyer to organize the shedule with alarms of that type.

    hello, i was hoping to find a solution on how to access my home security cameras on my 8900 curve ; was told it was possible but the attet tech didnt know how exactly ! is there a way to download my software and view my home cameras on my curve ?

    You will need to do one (or more) of several things:
    1) Find out if the maker of your cameras has an app for your BB. Do whatever they say to do to make it work.
    2) Create a compatible web page from your cameras that you can then view using your BB web browser. Compatible media streams can be found in this KB:

    I think this has been done before -- do a wide search on this forum and see if you can find the answers that others have found in the past.

  • Desktop Manager refuses to recognise 8900 Curve.

    This has been an ongoing problem for a while, the Desktop Manager refuses point blank to recognise the 8900 Curve when it's connected to the PC by USB, Bluetooth isn't an option with the PC. It did recognise the device initially but just stopped. I have tried removing and reinstalling the software, from the CD and the latest version from the net with/without the PC's security software active, rebooting the PC and the Blackberry before connecting, all Blackberry/RIM features are checked as safe in every part of the security software. In short I have tried everything that has been suggested on every forum I can find.
    The USB connection is not the problem, it charges the device and it functions in mass storage mode but nothing else. On the Desktop Manager at the bottom LHS, Device Connected (PIN): None and nothing I have tried changes that.
    Any suggestions for overcoming this extrememly exasperating problem would be greatly appreciated. It's my wife's phone and she is desperate to get some music onto it but unless I can get the software and phone to speak to each other that's not going to happen! She got the Blackberry because of it's features and at the moment the majority of them are useless because it doesn't connect with the PC.

    A couple of things...
    First ---   8900 <> Storm. Storm = 9500 or 9530. 8900 = Curve.   So, which device is it that we're talking about?

  • BB 8900 cosmetic problem on my phone

    recently i have bought a BB 8900 Curve. To my surprise in less than 5 months the outer jacket of the phone (steel like plated jacket) is peeling of from various places spoling the entire look of the phone. What is more surprising that I am clueless on whom I should raise this complaint. Technical support of BlackBerry says that the local service provider will have to address this and the local service provider is clueless about this & doesn't seem to be bothered. If someone is facing a similar problem, pls share on how to get this rectified or event better any blackberry official can reply to this post. Very unexpected of a BlackBerry phone - either on the quality or on the after sales service support.

    Sure they do. The carrier retailer IS the mechanism for all after sales support and warranty.
    That is where you need to turn. If you can't get satisfaction from them on a reasonable matter, you should start of the chain of that company.

    I have been using bb 8900 curve about  2 years now but since 3 months i have been encountring problem of white screen, whenever i talk long or listen to music for long or bb appworld my screen witll go white and if i remove my battery without giving usb power it will still be white but if i give usb power it will start of, what should i do i have tried reinstalling os but no success so far...can anybody help me

    Back up your BlackBerry data and do what is called a clean software reload.
    KB11320 will show you how to do this software reload. Before you restore any data, use the device to try and replicate the white screen.
    It is recommended to restore selected data after doing this type of software reload. You can follow KB23680 to do an advanced restore and restore the essential databases, such as Contacts, Calendar, Memos, Emails etc.

    I had exactly the same problem when I first received my phone. I was using an old sim card (non 3G) which I had been using for over 3 years. To solve the issue I got a new 3G sim from the network which resolved the problem.

    Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:
    ... and click OK. Quit and restart the QuickTime Player prior to checking to see if the settings change has had any effect.

    Hi Jeff. I'm also trying to make JS works, in my case using a PhoneGap application so it browses local html/JS instead of www (but it's html&javascript after all). I had some troubles when it comes to move items like small images even though the other JS functions seem to work fine. It seems we need to focus on which properties/functions related to positionning are available on the BB browsers.

  • Icons/Applications have suddenly dissapeared from my BB 8900 Curve

    I have a BB 8900 Curve and it has been working fine up till now. A few applications/icons have dissapeared from my phone and I haven't changed anything. So now my icon for textmessaging is gone, also the BBmessager, and the icon profiles that shows if you want the phone to ring/quiet.
    I did not hide them in the menu.
    Can anyone please help me !!!

    See if you have moved them in to a folder?
    Try a simple reset: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
    Look all over again, and click the menu to SHOW ALL just in case.

    I just bought a blackberry 8900 curve in India. I'm moving back to Sweden in a couple of weeks.
    I have two questions; Does the blackberry 8900 curve support the swedish letters Å, Ä and Ö? Or is it possible to install a swedish operating system on the phone?

    If it's reached the point where you can't try re-entering the code then you will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync your content to it - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
    If you repeatedly enter the wrong passcode, your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch will be disabled for longer intervals before you can try again. After too many unsuccessful attempts, you won't be able to try again until you connect it to the computer with which you last synced it.

    Hello Victoria, Thank you for your reply. I am looking forward to importing my catelog to Lightroom 4.1. This however poses another question. When I open LR4.1 it appears to use the same catelog as my LR3.6.
    When I import my LR 3.6 catelog to LR4.1 will it convert the existing 3.6 catelog or make a new LR4.1 catelog?
    If I wish to continuing having 3.6 available after converting to 4.1 Will different catelogs be maintained?
    How do I import my entire 3.6 catelog if I did not do it when LR4.0 was originally installed?
