Error during upgrade phase JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD
Hi Everyone,
We are in the process of completing a combined ERP 6.0 Upgrade / Unicode Conversion. Our starting release is ECC 5.0 (ABAP only) and we are running Oracle 10.2.0.2 on AIX 5.3.
We are receiving the following error in phase JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD:
1 ETQ201XEntering upgrade-phase "JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD" ("20080812163717")
2 ETQ366 Connect variables are set for shadow instance access

1EETQ203 Upgrade phase "JOB_RSUPGCUA_SHD" aborted with errors ("20080812163717")
We originally had some issues with the shadow system not starting in phase START_SHDI_FIRST. The source of the problem was the value of paramter ipc/shm_psize_40 in the instance profile of the shadow system. When we ran "sappfpar check" on the profile, the output indicated that the paramter was too small. We backed up the profile, increased the parameter to the value "sappfpar check" recommended and then stopped the shadow system via "SAPup stopshd." We then repeated the phase. The shadow instance was started successfully and the upgrade proceeded with subsequent phases.
We encountered the error above several phases later. The shadow instance is started and I am able to login with user DDIC. As detailed in the error message above, function module SUBST_START_BATCHJOB is aborting with error code 10. Based on what I can interpret from source code of the function module, this seems to indicate that there is a problem with the program values. The SM21 log indicates that "Program name RSUPGCUAGEN111 is invalid."
What do we need to do to get past this error?
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Tommyefor our case it was that the shadow instance was not completely stsarted, some processes were down, cause the ipc pool 40 was too small, i found the error in the killed work processes.
Probleme resolved as susch. i hope it will help someone.

Hi everyone, i have several questions for some errors that appeared with the last full system upgrade:
1. There is some message i get in the "waiting for udev events to be processed" part of the boot process: SP5100 TCO timer: mmio address [some memory address] alredy in use.
2. Various other messages after the loading of the daemons i can't get to read. (Where those logs are stored?)
3. I have KDE 4.7 and Xorg 1.10 with kwin composite. When i bring the command laucher (alt+f2) and look for some buggy graphics appear before showing the results.
I can downgrade Xorg to fix the third problem, but for the other ones...
Xorg logs seems ok, and the boot log too.
Thanks in advance.I do have a problem. While starting Xorg, the synaptics module can't be loaded. Here's the Xorg log:

EHP6 - Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG!
Hi All,
We are at the "extraction" stage of our EHP6 upgrade for pre-prod system, this serves as rehearsal for the execution of the same upgrade in production system.
However, SUM is stopped due to below error.
SUM - EXTRACTION phase stops at PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG, showing the error message below:
Severe error occurred in phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG!
Last error code set is: Failed to copy 1 files, check 'KX_CPYORG.LOG' for details
And checking from log, it shows "4EETQ399 Source file 'exe_syb.lst' missing!". This file doesn't exist anywhere in the system. Also, checking from logs of previous EHP6 upgrade in our DEV and QAS systems, this file doesn't exist. And instead of "exe_syb.lst", what has been copied from previous upgrades is 'exe_db6.lst'. We are at HP-UX and DB6.
Logs:
4EETQ399 Source file 'exe_syb.lst' missing!
1 ETQ399 Copied 821 files.
1EETQ399 Last error code set is: Failed to copy 1 files, check 'KX_CPYORG.LOG' for details
1EETQ204 Upgrade phase "KX_CPYORG" aborted with severe errors ("20140721180154")
Please advise how to fix.
Regards,
PhilipHI,
Kindly share 'KX_CPYORG.LOG files for analysis.Meanwhile try to patch the kernel with latest available at SMP and recheck for permissions and ownerships under kernel directory.

All the processes upto 'check' completed without error.
In preprocessing phase we got stuck at phase "MAIN_INIT/UCMIG_STATUS_CHK!" ( As shown bellow).
Severe error(s) occured in phase MAIN_INIT/UCMIG_STATUS_CHK!
Last error code set: The Unicode Conversion Preparations on the startrelease (transaction SPUMG) have not been finished, procedure cannot continue
Trouble Ticket Generation
A trouble ticket and an archive with all relevant log files have been generated. Trouble ticket: "D:\usr\sap\SND\upg\abap\log\SAPup_troubleticket.log" Log archive: "D:\usr\sap\SND\upg\abap\log\SAPup_troubleticket_logs.sar"
We have manually done SPUMG as per note 1051576 (Our system is single code page system)
But error still exist.. Kindly guide.

SCM2007 upgrade error in SHDINST_CPY phase of PREPARE in MSCS
Dear all,
we're trying an experimental upgrade from SCM5.0 to SCM2007 on an MSCS cluster (sql server rdbms on a separate cluster).
Currently the SCM5.0 is installed on a multi-SID cluster, with ASCS only in HA, 2 standalone enqueue replicators on the 2 nodes, CI and DIA on the 2 nodes, exacttly as of the manual, and it worked great so far.
Now we're trying to upgrade this clustered SCM instance to SCM2007, and
the upgrade is stuck in SHDINST_CPY phase of PREPARE, with the error:
SEVERE ERROR: copy of O:\usr\sap\put\bin\NTINSTASCS.PFL failed
In fact, the file above (ASCS profile template) doesn't exist in the put folder.
Tried the PREPARE twice, by using a new empty put folder and fresh upgrade media, same result.
So far very little or no support from SAP.
Any hints will be sincerely appreciated.
Franco.Hmm, thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't apply to our case.
Here you see out UpgDialog file with all the events registered. Apart of the error: ERROR: RFC of "subst_get_uvers" failed. (DDIC was locked before), to me it seems pretty clean.

As you are using kernel release 720.Parameter rsdb_ssfs_connect =1 will play role if you'll use kernel release higher than current. For use of SSFS try to upgrade kernel with the latest 740 or 741 and retry the phase again.

Upgrade-phase "SYIDUP_EXTRACT/PROFREAD" error
We are upgrading SCC system.
While generating stack.xml file from solman 7.1 sp 10, we got error in the verification execution as Cannot recognize installed product instance in lmdb.
We referred the note - 1816146 - Correction of installed software information (CISI.
1. We run the report RLMDB_DOWNLOAD_INST_SOFT_INFO and created .xml file.
2. downloaded SUM sp10
While running SUM tools we got the error the phase "SYIDUP_EXTRACT/PROFREAD" as below.
Attaching files as -
1. All log file from directory 'S:\usr\sap\SCC\SUM\abap\log'
2. All profiles
We analyzed the issue. Error is coming the file PROFREAD.LOG as

Please check 4 ETQ399 System-nr = '', GwService = 'sapgw' Client = '000' in the log mentioned.
Why it is not picking up any value for System-nr = (It should get system no. 40 - as my system no is 40)
Please revert, if any body faced this type of issue.

Error during the upgrade phase "start_shdi_first"
Hello,
We are having issue with upgrading r/3 4.7 enterprise extension set to ECC 6.0
Here the error message goes....
starting system failed rc=0
to analyse the error during start of shadow instance
view files 'Startsfi.log' and 'devtrace.log'
in directory usr\..put
repeat phase until shadow instance is started
and u can logon instance no '01'"
We have changed the DDIC password during upgrade.after that we ran the initphase to update the password.
I think sapup is referring the old password which was entered initially during the upgrade and we dont remember the old password also.
Appreciate your response

Thanks,
VadiDear All,
The issue has been resolved by changing the DDIC password to what it was when we have started the upgrade. The password was "welcome" when we have started with upgrade after that it has been changed to
"basis05" during upgrade.we changed it back to welcome and it started working fine.
Here it took long time to find out what was the password when we have starte upgrade.Resetting to standard ddic password also ddint help out in our case.
Thanks for all your replies. -

This doesn´t make sense. If you can´t start the shadow instance then you can´t logon to the system
Try the following:
cd <put-directory>/bin
./SAPup stopshd
set the parameter
login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0
in the instance profile of the shadown instance
then start the shadow instance
cd <put-directory>/bin
./SAPup startshd
Unlock the shadow instance using
./SAPup unlockshd
Try to logon with user SAP* and unlock DDIC.

Upgrade-phase "CONFLICT_CHECK" fails with error
Please help, I am trying to run the prepare for our BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 (SR2) upgrade and am running into an error in the CONFLICT_CHECK phase:
Conflict check failed, rc = "-2", reason = "Internal error: OCS_COLLECT_ADDON_TASKS: MISSING_CMD_IMPORT SAPK

When i ran this in our beta and dev environment I wasn't updating as many support packs and plug in's; and I did not run into this error. Here are the addon's I am updating

As you can see it is looking for SAPKINBC9D. This is not an addon package I selected. The PI_BASIS uses SAPKINBC9A. I checked SEPS (EPS admin) and do not see this. I also tried to search for this file on service.sap.com and do not see it. I have no idea what could be causing this. Please help!
ErikaHello,
If I remember correctly it was the version of PI_BASIS. I ended up upgrading the following addon's during the upgrade follows:
PI_BASIS 2005_1_640 2005_1_700 Inst/UPG with STD CD
BI_CONT 353 703 UPG WITH SAINT PACK
ST-A/PI 01F_BCO640 - DELETE
ST-PI 2005_1_640 2005_1_700 UPG WITH SAINT PACK
After the upgrade, I applied the PI_BASIS upgrade and support packs. -
Upgrade phase STARTSAP_NBAS error: SYSTEM START failed
During an upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0, I get the following error
message in phase STARTSAP_NBAS:
SYSTEM START failed, code -2
-2: the test rfc did not work.
Try to log on to the system with user DDIC
When I try to log on to the system as user DDIC, I get the following
error message:
DB-Error -0
The same thing happens when I try to log on as SAP*. I am certain that
the password I submit is correct. I have not changed this password at
any time.
I have included SAP_BASIS support package 14 into this upgrade, and
this requires kernel version 133 at least (Note 822379). This kernel
was copied into the usr\sap\put\exenew directory before the upgrade
began. However, the system still seems to run on kernel version 111.
I have tried to put the 133 kernel into
F:\usr\sap\BWS\SYS\exe\nuc\NTAMD64 so that it is copied into
F:\usr\sap\BWS\SYS\exe\run during system startup, but then all my work
processes die. The gateway also seems to be down using this kernel.
Please help!
Regards,
ThomasHi.
I made a stupid mistake.. the kernel I was using was unicode, but I should use a non-unicode kernel..

but cannot be found in the library.
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLSTXC" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_FUNC', was
not caught in

The reason for the exception is:
The program "SAPLSTXC" contains the CALL FUNCTION statement.
The name of the function module to be called is "POSS_UIREQ_OPT_SUBMIT".
No function module exists with the name "POSS_UIREQ_OPT_SUBMIT".
All function modules are listed in the Function Library (SE37).
