SF2 for N82

as far as I know N82 is available in Australia but not N79.
N82 is a good dam phone...
So will NOKIA release the next ROM with SF2 for Nokia N82. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE

SF2? Do you mean FP2 as in feature pack 2?
If so the answer is no.
No nokia phone has ever received a new operating system or feature pack in an update.
The N82 may see another firmware update or two but not a new version of the operating system.

  • No updates for N82 after 35.0.002

Did Nokia stopped its support for N82 after 35.0.002 ?

Regarding to further updates I would think that they have stopped supporting it, yes, but Nokia keeps their playcards close to their chest so I don't know for sure.
The device has been out for a quite a while and recieved quite a few updates. Nokia is most likley focusing on their new line of handsets e.g. s^3 and upcoming anna handsets together with newer lowends. The N82 along with other series 60 5th and 3rd editions lacks proper hardware for new fancy stuff, so as unlikely as I find it, if Nokia chooses to support it with another update it will most likely be a few bug fixes. - But then again, I don't think there will be.
What you could try is to contact nokia directly and see if you can get any sensible information about this. Most likely their first line support will either not respond or tell you that they don't know, but it's worth a shot.

  • Pcsuite for N82 for mac-user

does anyone know where to download pcsuite for n82 for mac user?

grrr.... with the number of people how have asked this exact question since i first bought my nokia phone a year ago, you'd think nokia would emblazen across their homepage, "MAC USERS you don't need PCSUITE, you need Nokia Multimedia Transfer"
but they dont. so i don't blame you for asking.
    1. psychomania is right, albeit a bit abrupt: there is no PCSuite for the mac.
    2. abrupt? yes. because there is an alternative software 'suite' for you: the combination of iSync and nokia's own 'Nokia Multimedia Transfer'. that's the short answer i would like to have seen posted as the first response to your query. go here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4423133
that's nokia's MAC software page. download the iSync plugin for your phone and the Nok...Mult...Transfer (lets call it NMT, shall we?) program.
    3. the LONG answer. while some people complain (habitually) that nokia doesn't properly support the mac, etc etc, i can think of nothing truly missing from the iSync+NMT combo. with this combo you get:
    * iPhoto integration (including automatically copying scaled copies of photos back to your phone post transfer to the MAC)
    * iTunes integration - including album art if you have it (sadly, this seems to only work for AAC files, but since this codec was DESIGNED to REPLACE mp3, and chances are you have mp3 now, converting to this format is generally a Good Thing)
    * Address Book integration - yup, with all the numbers, notes and even contact photos intact
    * iCal integration - todos, anniversaries, you get the idea
    * Safari bookmark sync - either sync the phone to a specific folder in safari, or add all of safari's bookmarks to the phone, or both
so, what's missing? automatic sync when bluetooth comes in range? does pcsuite do this? (honestly, i don't know). my mac does. it's not part of the software listed above, but you can do it. i've got mine setup with 'Salling Clicker' to automatically run iSync when i'm in range up to twice a day. salling clicker isn't free, but it works across a large range of phones and computers (even runs on windows). i bought it 4 cell phones ago, back when i was a sony ericsson guy. i highly suggest you consider using it - even if you switch to windows and windows mobile somewhere down the line you'll be glad to have a license for this app handy (think: wireless remote control for every app in my computer, including actions when my phone rings like muting the music i'm blasting so i can hear the thing ring)
good luck, and i hope you enjoyed my little rant,
    -bit
    N95-1 ---> N97-NAM ---> N900 ---> E7-00 + N900 (I use them both)
(N95 was pretty good, N97 had potential but utterly failed to deliver, N900 is absurdly good. Those of you wondering, "should I try N900/Maemo/MeeGo"? The answer is a resounding YES)

  • Audio adapter for N82 ?

    Hi,
I am looking for an audio adapter for N82 AD - 46 has many N series phones listed but doesn't include N82. Does anyone knows which adapter works with N82 ?
    Thanks
    Joseph

What exactly are you trying to do?
That audio adaptor is for older models with pop-ports that allows you to connect standard 3.5mm headphones.
The N82 can accept any standard 3.5mm headphones without any form of adaptor because it already has a 3.5mm port.

I'm a bit curious about the N82's GPS.
The specs mention A-GPS but they don't mention a GPS module.
I think it only has A-GPS so it can't be used for turn by turn navigation.
That would explain why it's cheaper than the N95.

I think Korngear is right. On the N95 spec sheet its says built in GPS with Agps support. But on the spec sheet of the N82 it says AGPS support but doesn't mention anything about a built in module. Well noticed korngear. http://nseries.com/nseries/v3/media/sections/products/tech_specs/en-R1/tech_specs_n95_us_en_R1.html

  • Cradle for N82

i have just received my N82, but was wondering if nokia hve a car cradle which will charge the phone as well as hold it?
i have nokia car kit installed
    can you help?????

There is no specific cradle for the N82 from Nokia but Brodit will probably do one?
From memory the N82 has the charging port on the side doesn't it? If so, the options will e very limited.
There are the CR-82 and CR-99 but it depends on what Nokia Car Kit you have as these cradles will hold a charging pin for the phone but it needs to come from either a cigarette lighter or enabled car kit.
New (since July 07) CK-7W car kits have a charging lead which is compatible with the CR-82.
    Hope this helps...

  • Software for N82

    Hi
is there any software for using .swf file as wallpaper in N82?
    thanks

I just bought an N97. My old phone was an N95. The new phone, like the old phone, came with Nokia Maps. This is free to use, but it doesn't come with "Navigation". Navigation is the voice directions you expect to hear in the car. You have to buy a Navigation licence, either through the phone, through Nokia PC Suite, or from a third party site.
I took my old sim out and put it in my new phone.
When I tried the Maps function on my new phone, it went to the internet, found my old Navigation licence and transferred it to the new phone.
This left my old phone with no Navigation licence.I checked out various options to bring back the Navigation to my old phone including these:-
If you go through the phone, or PC Suite, you will have to buy a yearly licence. If you go to the TeleAtlas site, you will find McGuider software. This is another option.
This business of buying an annual licence has been bugging me for some time, so, In the end, I did what I've been thinking about for a while. I went
into Halfords and bought Garmin (UK and N, Ireland) software on a micro SD card for £49.99. One - off payment, not an annual charge.
It installs automatically, is a doddle to use compared with Nokia Maps, and gives you the option of using AGPS or not.
It's much easier to use than Nokia Maps, more intuitive, more powerful options, quick in its response, and I can finally read what it's telling me on the small N95 screen, as I drive.
I can heartily recommend it. Without the AGPS in use, it's still very quick in its response, but of course this is down to the quality of the GPS system, and where you are.
     HTH

  • Applications for N82

    Hi,
Are there any sites out there that will give me a good list and details of applications available for the N82? Done a bit of a google around but only found the official site which appears to have a very limited list, and old and out of date sites, or dodgy sites just trying to sell me ringtones.
Particularly after an alternative to the music player should one exist.
    Thanks!

www.handango.com - quite a large store for mobile apps (similar to the Noia site, though)
My own experience with handango is that they're spammers and therefore among the worst pond-scum on this planet.
When you create an account with them, on the final page before you confirm there is a message that states explicitly that "You will not be signed up to our newsletter. In order to receive it you have to request it from within your account."
Fair enough. So I created the account and before I did anything else I received an e-mail welcoming me to three different newsletters, none of which I wanted.
I just deleted the e-mail address I created specifically to sign up with handango.
Back to the point of this topic, though. Don't look for applications specifically for the N82. Instead, look for applications for Symbian S60 3rd edition and you'll probably have more choice

  • Is there iSkoot for N82?

On the list of supported handsets, it has the N95 and N81, but no N82. Does anyone know if the N81 will work?

Another question if you don't mind. It says I need a data service/packet plan to use iSkoot.. however I don't have one. Do I have to worry about getting charged for any type of fees if I just use WLAN and Skype - Skype calls?
