Sf302-08 and radius vsa keys

Greetings all,
I recently received a SF302-08 to configure and I have to say quite an improvement over the SRW208 I had earlier. One thing bugs me though, with authentication requests it does not send the Service-Request parameter. On our Catalyst switches I have been experimenting with adding vsa keys to the requests and replies but on the SF302-08 I cannot find that feature yet. Can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to add custom or cisco proprietary vsa keys to an authentication request?

That would be a pity, but maybe you can help me a supported vsa set to work properly. I am Radius VLAN assignment and am unable to get it to work properly.
I am sending the attributes as described but it fails on the Tunnel-Private-Group-ID.
For the Dynamic VLAN Assignment feature to work, the switch requires the
following VLAN attributes to be sent by the RADIUS server (as defined in
RFC 3580):
[64] Tunnel-Type = VLAN (type 13)
[65] Tunnel-Medium-Type = 802 (type 6)
[81] Tunnel-Private-Group-Id = VLAN ID
VLAN 7 (Guest) is the VLAN that the port should be assigned to, but for the different ways of sending the data I get these results.

For the specific VSA you used in the example (h323-incoming-conf-id), (1) is the correct encoding, since Cisco VSA vendor type 1 (also more commonly referred to as cisco AV Pair) is always encoded in strings with the format of "attribute=value". This applies to other cisco VSAs that use string encoding as well. For VSA's that don't use string encoding, eg., fax-pages (vendor type 5, encoding integer), it typically doesn't include the value. You should be able to check that against the vendor dictionary to confirm. Please also see:

RADIUS VSAs for Airespace and ACS 3.3

How/Where do we get the RADIUS VSA downloads for ACS 3.3 for the Airespace hardware?
I can only find reference to them in ACS 4.0 documentation.

Adding RADIUS VSAs on ACS 3.2 SE

I have tried to add a VSA to enable a Packeteer to authenticate using RADIUS on the ACS.
Using RDBMS synchronization to import the csv file below.

The group name is 'External', Action is 163 which corresponds to ADD_RADIUS_ATTR.

To add a vendor-specific attribute (VSA), set VN = "26" and use V2 and V3 as follows:
V2 = IETF vendor ID (which in this case is 2334)
V3 = VSA attribute ID (1)
V1 = In this case 'access=look'
After a couple of attempts I got the format correct but when I try and import the file I don't get an "INFO" message in the "Reports" section of the ACS indicating that the process was successful. I don't get any message at all, WARNING, ERROR or INFO.
From the FTP server I can confirm that the file was transferred.
What I should get is an INFO message similar to:
08/30/2004 16:27:50 INFO Sync complete: 1 transaction(s) 0 parse error(s) 0 process error(s)
Any ideas as to what is wrong would be much appreciated.

Programming tacacs &radius server-keys ?

I'm having an issue programming the tacacs & radius server-keys. I'm not sure if I missed a step or my use of the syntax. I appreciate any help you can provide. It's a first time for me and I'm attempting to duplicate an existing switch which states server-key 7 <removed>.

I can appreciate that the first time doing this can seem daunting. But it really is not so difficult when you get right down to it.
The first thing to understand is that in the existing config the key has already been encrypted for storage on the switch. So what you see in the running config is crypto text and not really the exact key.
You have two options in how to configure your new switch:
- you could cut and paste the server key from the existing config to the new switch. So you would be inputting the type 7 encrypted key directly to the new switch.
- you could manually configure the key on the new switch. In this case you would configure
server-key <key_value>
where <key_value> is the clear text key to use. If you do this, and assuming that you have configured service password-encryption, then the switch will take the clear text key and will encrypt it for storage on the new switch.

DHCP and Radius

Hi,
We are trying to migrate a secure wlan that uses certificates on client laptops.
The ultimate goal is point the secure wlan to a new DHCP server which also has a new Enterprise certificate. Currently, the old server provides the Enterprise certificate and the DHCP scope for the sercure wlan. When we attempted to migrate the secure wlan previously the 5508 could not perform 802.1X communcations with the new server since it didn't have the certificate.
Question: for the secure wlan can we point it at the new server for DHCP and point it at the old server for the Enterprise certificate until such time we can get the certificate on the new server?
The secure wlan does use Radius pointing to the new server.

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Get "no bootable device- insert boot disc and hit any key" error

Hp G72 Laptop, Windows 7 64 bit,
"no bootable device-insert boot disc and hit any key" (I have no boot disc.)
I was in the process of replacing the hard drive and the computer was starting the final phase after copying all files. When it restarted the first time, I got the message. I was getting this message randomly prior to replacing the hard drive and if I turned it off for 2 or 3 hours and turned back on I would not get the message. The reason for replacing the hard drive was a "Smart Disc " imminent failure error message.

Yes and yes. The final recovery disc had completed and it was moving to the next phase. It said the computer would restart several times during this phase and when it went to the first restart, the error message came up and I could proceed no further. I ctrl/alt/del and restarted, pressed escape to get the start-up menu but was lost at all the options. The information screen looked like the old hard drive info.

WBL 7.0 and SSL private key problem

Having generated certificate request, and associated private key, I obtained
the corresponding server level certificate. I am having problems starting the
server with the cert. I have configured my server appropriately, here is the SSL
configuration from the domain config.xml

I have given the right password. So the question is why am I seeing the error
I am running this server on Sun Solaris. The password contains the usual ascii
characters, including shell special characters.
Any way checking the private key file ?
Also as we have seen problems with the particular certificate we get from the
CA, I wanted to use "utils.ValidateCertChain", alas this documented utility is
conveniently missing from weblogic.jar. Oh big blue, why didn't we go with you

Is it a damaged keyboard ?
The laptop is just 2 months old, will Apple replace it with a new one if its indeed a damaged keyboard or just repair, I use it for official purposes so being without a laptop is not much of an option.

No one here works for Apple, so we don't know what Apple might or might not do. If it's a genuine defect, they will of course repair it under warranty. It is not their responsibility if it effects your ability to work or not, so that's on you.
If, however, they determine that the key is problematic as a result of your misuse of the laptop, then everything is on you. And trust me, if they find a glob of dried up beer or coffee there, they will charge you.
Your only choice is to take it in for repair.

Problem with RSA/AES and the wrapped Key

Hallo!
For a server-client communications, I would like to use a hybrid encryption.
For this I create an object of a serializable class that contains several properties, including the data that are to be transferred from A to B (Object, encrypted by AES), and the AES key, but wrapped by RSA (byte []).
My basic problem is, that if I send the wrapped key, I get at the destination another byte array and thus the key can not be decoded:
java.security.InvalidKeyException: Invalid AES key length: 256 bytes
When I look at the string representation of the byte array before sending and immediate after receiving, the byte arrays are diffrent. Why?

1. Don't do this. The general problem has been solved. The solution is called TLS, and Java provides a API called the JSSE for you to use.
2.If you insist on rolling your own, don't specify NoPadding. Use PKCS1Padding. If you are going to use NoPadding, then you must provide your own padding scheme, which you have not.

Last month I just got a HP netbook (HP Mini 110-3100) and when I got it from the box, the error message; "No bootable device -- insert a boot disk and press any key" appeared. But then I managed to boot up the netbook normally. After that, I can use the netbook normally but the error message keeps appeared and becomes more frequent and now I even cannot turn on the netbook.
Is it a hard disk failure?
p/s: yesterday accidentally I can turn on the netbook without any problems. Did a lot of Hard Disk Maintenance by some softwares downloaded from the internet. But now already cannot turn on.
p/s/s: i have no cd/dvd drive, and also no 8GB usb drive.

I would suggest try and reseat the hard drive and check...If you still have the issue, than take it to the service center...And you will need to take only netbook to Service center...

Up and Down Arrow Keys Not Working

I have had the HP Pavilion g6t-1b00 CTO Notebook PC for a year or two now. I've been having a couple of problems with internet connectivity and putting my computer on "sleep".
However, few days ago, my keyboard randomly started acting weirdly. When I would try to type certain letter/numbers, they would come out differently.
Ex. pressing the space bar would show up " ./M" instead
I tried restarting my computer many times and installed a BiOS update which fixed all of my issues except for my up and down arrow keys. As of now, they have no function; I can't scroll with them and they don't seem to be taking on the role of another key. I have tried using the keys on different programs. Using the touch pad to scroll works but I still can't use the up and down keys.
Is there anyway to get the up and down arrow keys to work again?

I understand you’re up and down arrow keys are not functioning, is that accurate? I will do all I can to help you with this issue.
I want you to access the setup menu to test the keys out, see instructions below.
1.       Shut down the computer.
2.       Locate the F10 key across the top.
3.       When you turn the computer back on immediately start tapping the F10 key repeatedly.
4.       If successful you should be on setup utility screen. What’s different about this is you can only use you arrow keys to navigate.
5.       Try working the arrow keys up and down on different menus and see if they work.
6.       Once you tested it press F9 to setup defaults and then press F10 to save and exit.

Up and down arrow keys are not working properly when using SQL CLI on Linux

Every time I hit up, down, left, and right arrow keys to return to a previous sql command I got ^[[D, please any hints to fix this issue?
The backspace works fine with me. I tried to use stty to fix this issue with no luck.

Which SQL client and Linux version are we talking about?
Assuming you are using the Oracle sqlplus client... it does not support command line editing and history using the arrow keys. For this to work you will have to install a product called Readline Wrapper. See my answer at the General Database forum:
