Sfc /scannow says: Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them

I have a problem on windows 8.1. When i right-click on folders windows explorer process freezes and does not respond. I've searched the internet and tried to execute the /sfc scannow command through the command promt (as admin). But when i do that an error
occures.

Hi,
Having run SFC on a Windows 7 laptop we get the warning:
windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them
Examination of the cbs.log shows the following two files causing this:
Cannot repair member file "DHCPQEC.DLL" of Microsoft-Windows-Dhcp-Nap-Enforcement-Client
Cannot repair member file "no_rl.cur" of Microsoft-Windows-Shell-acccursor
Any idea how to fix these?
Are either of these files important or can we just ignore these errors.

Find My iPhone only keeps a history of locations after you put it in lost mode. It also has to be online to provide an updated location.

I migrated info from a hard drive to a new mac under time machine. It says I have shared files, but I don't see the old info on the new machine. Where do I look for it ? How do I make the old backup the base for my new macbook ?

Every time I open iPhoto (as of today) after a few seconds the coloured wheel appears and the program become unresponsive. I have tried closing my computer. I assume I have a corrupt file but at the moment I cannot access anything in the program?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

okay george, I'll try to help you
1-download yahoo messenger. save the .dmg file to your desktop or downloads, wherever your downloaded files go. Double click on it after it has downloaded and it should open up. (ah, I see-i checked out the youtube video on how to install it). then read the terms and conditions, click on agree, then drag the app (the smiley face) to the Applications folder (the square, as you call it), then it should copy it to the Applications folder. Then right or control click on the open yahoo messenger .dmg thing, and choose Eject, which should eject it into the trash. You are done installing Yahoo Messenger. click your hard drive icon on the right top of your screen and move to the Applications folder. Yahoo Messenger should be there. If you need quick access to it, or use it a lot, you can drag a copy to the dock....
Why are things so difficult? it's good to be curious, george. Might I suggest booking some time at the Apple store, or if you can afford to, pay for some one-to-one training

Within reason, Pages v5.2 documents are forwards compatible with Pages v5.5.3. Apple introduced the single file format document as a default with Pages v5.5.3 which is not backwards compatible with Pages v5 on Mavericks.
However, they also provided a File > Advanced > Change File Type > {Single File, Package} menu that allows you to change the current Pages v5.5.3 document into the backwards compatible Package type document. You would follow this transformation with a File > Save operation to complete it.

First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Try this - Disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update.
After you install iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed when connecred via wireless.

I was able to open a pdf document but was unable to save to my computer. I have adobe acrobat pro xi. the message i received was. "the document could not be saved. there was a problem reading the document (8)."
I was able to convert it to a Word document and then save, but I should not have to do that.

Did you try a Save As? What OS? Have you updated Acrobat?
Another alternative is to print to a new PDF. That is probably a better work flow than going to WORD and back.

Windows 7 won't boot or run sfc /scannow - says repair in

I upgraded my HP laptop from Vista to Windows 7 and it has been working for a year. This morning the laptop will not boot up and when I run repair it runs it over and over and will not boot up. I run the diagnostics on the hard drive it gets to about 8%
and then stops with #10008 Replace Hard Disk and then SMART Hard Disk Passed. I get into the Windows 7 repair page and run it over and over with no results and it does not list an any operating systems on System Recovery Page. On the System Recovery Options
page it says Operating System unknown. It does not allow System Restore either. I can get the command prompt (X:\windows\system32) but when I try to run sfc /scannow it will not let me because there is a system repairpending that requires a reboot to
coomplete, and so it goes over and over. I tried using my Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade disk but that does not help. I would re-install it but it will not let me do an installation unless I boot the system from the computer and not the DVD. It seems
like I am in a continuous loop to start out 2012 and I do not know how to get out of it. Any help would be great appreciated.

I formatted the C: portion of disk and reinstalled Windows 7 Premium Home Edition from scratch and went through setting it all up and over 90 updates, including SP1 and things seem to go fine. System rebooted a number
of times and it was working. Then out of nowhere went restarting on an update it went right back to where I started before. It appears through various operations I loose communications to the Boot file. When I read some of the reports I get the No Bootable
Device available 0x3bc3.
I run the repair disk over and over and then get it to run again.
The difference now is that all the Memory and Hard Drive tests run to completion and say OK. The last time that it happened I got a momentary blue screen that was gone before I knew it and I was back again to where I started. I am
not running chkdisk on C: again and it seems to be doing OK.
Any more ideas for me. I did remove and reseat the hard drive WD3200 just to be sure connections were OK before I formatted and started from scratch. Seems to me that the boot record is out there but I cannot get to it.
