SFTP Adapter Seeburger or Advantco ?

Hi,
I need to suggest my client for a SFTP Adapter. Which one I need to suggest ? On performance and Cost? I would like to get a rough idea on cost for these?
1. Seeburger
2. Advantco

Hi,
That is depending on your requirement, if requirement with EDI better to choose Seeburger else choose other one. Both are working fine performance wise.
SeeBurger have many EDI specific functionality like Splitter , Functional Acknowledgment , Auto mapping etc. So if you have EDI in your project SeeBurger would be winner. Else you can choose other adapter based on other factor.
Advantco SFTP adapter allow for different encryption algorithms such as triple DES, Blowfish.

Im closing this thread as its open for long time now.
well i have even found the solution for the same.
SFTP adapter as such does not have FCC functionality.
we have to use SAP Modules for performing FCC in SFTP adapter.
for complex conversions (more than 3 levels) we can use BIC tool and then deploy the module in our adapter.

Dynamic filename creation with Seeburger's SFTP adapter

Hi Experts,
I read in one of the forum that Seeburger's SFTP adapter supports dynamic configuration.
My requirement is i need to dynamically create a file name and put it into a predefined folder(of a third party system) with SFTP adapter.

A work around:
Use another interface File to file (By pass) using file adapter which does the mask exclusion of the file which are not required.

I had a same question long time back.
The way to do this is - Exchange the server keys ( Your admin can generate it)
Install the keys ( server keys ) from the target system in your source server ( where you have SFTP adapter installed). If you have user id and password you can choose in the drop down of the SFTP adapter.
Yes, FIle adapter is configured to pick the file and virual receiver.
Another pointer was - there are some fields which are mandatory like mapping where you can use DUMMY.
To send to the target - configure the receiver adapter.
Make sure your fire wall is open for the port needed for SFTP.

            I have a scenario where i need to send a file to SFTP server. I used Seeburger SFTP adapter to connect to SFTP.
          This is a pass through interface and i havent used any party at the confiuration( normal configuration without party)
             In SFTP channel @ modules i configured it as:

Dynamic Creation of File using counter in Seeburger Variable:
1. Configuration Needed in the Communication Channel:
The process of dynamic creation of files can be done we have to select the following checkbox in the receiver channel:
Dynamic Attribute in receiver Channel:
Import the following modules:
Localejbs/Seeburger/solution/sftp
Localejbs/Seeburger/AttribMapper
Localejbs/ModuleProcessorExitBean
Enter the desired file naming convention:
Use the Parameter GetCounter("ID") to the place where the counter is expected to come.
2. Configuration Needed in the SeeBurger Workbench:
If the J2EE server is listening on a port different from 50000 (which is the standard for the SAP client 000), the port number must be configured:
Login into the seeburger workbench using the URL
http://<localhost>:<port number>/seeburger/index.html
Select Property Store.
Create or edit the following property:
Parameter
Value
Namespace
http://seeburger.com/xi/SeeFunctions
Key
provider.servlet.server
Value
http://localhost:50000/ (where the port number 50000 must be set
accordingly to the J2EE server configuration).
Note: The configured value (server URL) has to end with a slash (/). Otherwise,

It depends on the adapter you are using to achieve the SFTP protocol (seeburger, advantco,...?). However, most of them don't support multiple FTP connections with the same adapter. But this is easy to achieve by adding many communication channels to the Receiver Determination of the scenario.

Help needed for SFTP on Seeburger

I need to use SFTP in SAP XI. As I researched about that in sdn, people said that Seeburger Adapter will support SFTP in XI. We are already using Seeburger version 1.7. I don't think, Version 1.7 is supporting SFTP. So does anyone know, what is the version of seeburger that supports SFTP?

can you double check you configurations associated with this CC,cos in the error it clearly says :
Unable to execute query because: com.seeburger.xi.config.ConfigException: No To-party associated with ID:
FaultCategory: CONFIGURATION_ERROR
and you might wanna look more on sorting out "No To-party associated with ID"

I don't have the seeburger sftp adapter at hand at the moment, but asfar as I remember, this does not specifically have an empty-file handling option like the standard ftp adapter.
So to stop emtyp files from being written, guess would need to handle this at the mapping level. For example, check for target creation criteria in the header node in mapping. If the creation criteria is not met, you can throw an error in mapping.
You may also incorporate this condition in your Receiver determination. In this case, if the condition is not satisfied, no receiver is determined in PI.

Key based authentication issue in SFTP adapter

Dear Experts,
We have a scenario ECC -->SAP PI 7.0-->SFTP server where we are trying to connect to the SFTP server with a Advantco(3rd Party) SFTP adapter. We have placed our private key in a local folder in PI server (not using Net Weaver Key Store) and shared corresponding OpenSSH public key to the trading partner maintaining the SFTP adapter. However, while trying to connect the server through PI, we are getting “com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: Auth fail” error. Our basis team has confirmed that the SFTP server is reachable when they are trying manually having the same key-pair, but only our SFTP adapter is not able to connect.
Could you please tell me if we are missing any part of configuration? Like any specific location we need to place the private key in PI server?

It's solved now. there was some problem related to passphrase we were giving at the time of generating the key. We have generated a key pair without passphrase and the adapter can reach the target SFTP server properly.

I am using a third party SFTP Adapter(Advantco) in my proxy to file scenario.
When I put the Authentication Type as Public Key,I need to give additional input parameters lik:
Type of Key Storage: Local File Syatem / Netweaver Key Storage
Private Key File: ________
Passphrase: _____________
what does these parameters inply????
Why do we use a public key a authentication???/

Hi,
I think you need to use the certificates to encrypt and decrypt the data and the public key will be available in this certificates.
Looks like comms channel is looking for the certificate file.
