SG200-26P [FW-1.1.2.0] - Very High Response Time: 1000ms!
Hello,
Problem: New SG-200 26P Smart Switch with Latest Firmware - Very High Responce Time 500-800ms
We've a EdgeMarc 4500 Router with 10 VPN tunnels to 10 brach locations. SG-200 26P Smart Switch is connected to 7 Servers (2 Terminal, SQL, and Other) All locations have 50MB Download and 20MB Upload speed from Verizon FiOS Internet service.
As per the SolarWind tool, the response time of this switch is around at 500ms. At the same time, the EdgeMarc 4500 router response time is around 40ms and less.
We've 60 desktops remotely connected to our SQL Server database and 40 RDP Users via Remote Desktop. The configuration is same from past 3 years. But we change the switch from HP 1800-24G to Cisco due to some Connection Failures. For Connection Failures, we first suspect the old HP switch, but it's look like issue with EdgeMarc Router.
Is this Response Time is normal? I attached two screenshots of both Cisco Switch and EdgeMarc Router Response Time from past 24 hours according to SolarWind tool. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello Srinath,
Thank you for participating in the Small Business support community. My name is Nico Muselle from Cisco Sofia SBSC.
The response time from the switch could be considered as quite normal. Reason for this is that the switch gives CPU priority to it's actual duties which would of course be switching, access lists, VLANs, QoS, multicast and DHCP snooping etc etc. As a result of that, ping response times of the switch itself do not show in any way the correct working of the switch.
I invite you to try pinging clients connected to the switch, you should be able to notice that response times to the clients are a lot lower than response times of the switch itself.
Hope this answers your question !
Best regards,
Nico Muselle

After a surfing session a few weeks ago the response time for my AirPort internet connection became painfully slow. When I plug in to the wired connection it works fine. Resetting the router and modem doesn't seem to fix it. What might have happened and what can I do to fix it?
It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference that appears during these hours that is preventing your AirPort Base Station from providing a clean RF signal.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like iStumbler, Wi-Fi Explorer or AirRadar to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible. -
Deadlocks and very high wait times
We are seeing a very high number of deadlocks in the system. The deadlocks trace all show a 'enq: TX - row lock contention' with wait times of around 2929700+ seconds ex:

Very High processing time in STAD
Hi
I have a problem in my NW04 BI system.
Users are occasionally experiencing high responsetimes while using the HTTP interface to work with BI reports.
If I display the statistical records STAD I can see that while using the SAPMHTTP program the "processing time" and therefor "Total time in workprocs" are very high but other times in the record are very low. CPU time is very low. Below is the detailed analysis.
CPU time 94 ms
RFC+CPIC time 0 ms
Total time in workprocs 481.566 ms
Response time 481.566 ms
Wait for work process 0 ms
Processing time 481.093 ms
Load time 1 ms
Generating time 0 ms
Roll (in+wait) time 0 ms
Database request time 226 ms
Enqueue time 0 ms
DB procedure call time 246 ms
Number Roll ins 1
Roll outs 1
Enqueues 8
Load time Program 1 ms
Screen 0 ms
CUA interf. 0 ms
Roll time Out 0 ms
In 0 ms
Wait 0 ms
Frontend No.roundtrips 0
GUI time 0 ms
Net time 0 ms
No. of DB procedure calls 1
Can anyone tell me what is going on in the system or how I can go further to analyze this. You might assume that this is a CPU bottleneck but it is not, I am using 4 x 64bit processors and 12Gb memory with load of 5-10% when this problem occurs.
Best Regards
Sindriwhy should the database be a problem, it is
> Database request time 226 ms
Go to the details (double click) of the line with problems. In the details you should have a button 'http' in the action line. There you can chewck the http details which should tell you where the time was spend.
As always, repeat your measurements a few times to see whether the behaviour is reproducible.

Bex input help (F4) very slow response times
When running queries on some of our InfoCubes or ODSs (in 3.5 of 2004s) we are getting a very slow response when using the Input Help (F4) option. We have looked at the article the Nov/Dec 2004 BW Expert and the following SAP Notes 626887, 661251, 626887, 817335, 567746, 581802 and 748623. None of these are of much help. We did not seem to have this problem before the upgrade to 2004s.
Anyone have any other ideas? The users are wanting it fixed.F4 help behaviour has changed in 04s 3.5 web run time.
See attached thread for a solution (not very helpful in some cases.).

Newly deployed apex application - very slow response time reported.
Hi, we just deployed an APEX application on January 4th. It is used up and down the east coast to track commercially caught fish. There are currently about 375 users. Most are accessing via cable or dsl. Many are complaining of speed issues. Is there something that can be done locally on their machines to help.
The application is complex and often must process through loops of data depending on the port, species, state reqs. Each of the queries has been run through the db tool that examines how optimal they are, and all run within seconds.
Since the system is new, we are concerned that people will become frustrated and stop using it. ANy suggestions are appreciated. It was a 2yr project and had been in a test environment for 6 months.
thanks, KarenWhat I would suggest is, the agents could try pinging the server that you are hosting the apps on, to see how long the ping takes to return. It maybe that the server is producing the pages fine, but the traffic is getting jammed on the way to the port agent..
Just as an example, there have been severe issues with using Oracle's hosted instance of apex in the past 6-9 months. It's not an always occurrence, but for some folks it takes FOREVER to load the applications builder or even pages in the builder. The database server is performing fine, but the app server seems to be having issues, from what I gathered in one of the last messages from Oracle on the subject..
You could try going outside your building and accessing your app in a similar fashion that your customers do..
Thank you,
Tony Miller

Very high parse times for query rewrite using cube materialized views
We recently upgraded to version 11.2.0.2 (both AWM and Oracle database server). We are using cube materialized views with query rewrite enabled. Some observations of changes that took place when we rebuilt all the dimensions and cubes in this version:
1. Queries against the base tables take about 35 seconds to parse. Then they execute in a tenth of a second. Even simple queries that just get a sum of the amount from the fact table (which is joined to all the dimensions) takes that long to parse. Once parsed, the queries fly.
2. I noticed that the materialized views used to use grouping sets in the group by clause in version 11.2.0.1, but now they use group by rollup, rollup, rollup...
If we disable query rewrite on the MV or for my session, parse times drop to less than a second. Ideas? There does appear to be a slow down in parse times between 11.1.0.7 and 11.2. We are still investigating this, but in the meantime here is a way to force the code in 11.2 to generate a GROUPING SETS clause instead of the new ROLLUP syntax.
The trick is to create a dummy hierarchy containing only the leaf level. This is necessary for all dimensions that currently have a single hierarchy. As a simple example I created a dimension, PROD, with three levels, A, B, and C, in a single hierarchy. I then created a one dimensional cube, PC. Here is the SELECT statement for the MV in 11.2. Note the ROLLUP clause in the GROUP BY.
SELECT
GROUPING_ID(T3."CLASS_ID", T3."FAMILY_ID", T3."ITEM_ID") SYS_GID,
(CASE GROUPING_ID(T3."CLASS_ID", T3."FAMILY_ID", T3."ITEM_ID")
WHEN 3
THEN TO_CHAR(('A_' || T3."CLASS_ID") )
WHEN 1
THEN TO_CHAR(('B_' || T3."FAMILY_ID") )
ELSE TO_CHAR(('C_' || T3."ITEM_ID") ) END) "PROD",
T3."CLASS_ID" "D1_PROD_A_ID",
T3."FAMILY_ID" "D1_PROD_B_ID",
T3."ITEM_ID" "D1_PROD_C_ID",
SUM(T2."UNIT_PRICE") "PRICE",
COUNT(T2."UNIT_PRICE") "COUNT_PRICE",
COUNT(*) "SYS_COUNT"
FROM
GLOBAL."PRICE_AND_COST_FACT" T2,
GLOBAL."PRODUCT_DIM" T3
WHERE
(T3."ITEM_ID" = T2."ITEM_ID")
GROUP BY
(T3."CLASS_ID") ,
ROLLUP ((T3."FAMILY_ID") , (T3."ITEM_ID") )Next I modified the dimension to add a new hierarchy, DUMMY, containing just the leaf level, C. Once I have mapped the new level and re-enabled MVs, I get the following formulation.
SELECT
GROUPING_ID(T3."CLASS_ID", T3."FAMILY_ID", T3."ITEM_ID") SYS_GID,
(CASE GROUPING_ID(T3."CLASS_ID", T3."FAMILY_ID", T3."ITEM_ID")
WHEN 3
THEN ('A_' || T3."CLASS_ID")
WHEN 1
THEN ('B_' || T3."FAMILY_ID")
WHEN 0
THEN ('C_' || T3."ITEM_ID")
ELSE NULL END) "PROD",
T3."CLASS_ID" "D1_PROD_A_ID",
T3."FAMILY_ID" "D1_PROD_B_ID",
T3."ITEM_ID" "D1_PROD_C_ID",
SUM(T2."UNIT_PRICE") "PRICE",
COUNT(T2."UNIT_PRICE") "COUNT_PRICE",
COUNT(*) "SYS_COUNT"
FROM
GLOBAL."PRICE_AND_COST_FACT" T2,
GLOBAL."PRODUCT_DIM" T3
WHERE
(T3."ITEM_ID" = T2."ITEM_ID")
GROUP BY
GROUPING SETS ((T3."CLASS_ID") , (T3."FAMILY_ID", T3."CLASS_ID") , (T3."ITEM_ID", T3."FAMILY_ID", T3."CLASS_ID") )This puts things back the way they were in 11.1.0.7 when the GROUPING SETS clause was used in all cases. Note that the two queries are logically equivalent. -
Pages very slow response time with the typing
Page is not keeping up with my 25 word a minute typing speed. Text Edit seems to be okish. Whats the problem anyone know? I'm Timer 4.2, 768 RAM, and not too long ago a 60G HD which currently allows 28G of HD space spare. Whats going on???

Very slow response, stopping for seconds in the middle of typing an email
I'm having very slow response time with Firefox, so much so that I've switched to IE (gasp!). It'll stop suddenly for several seconds in the middle of typing an email and I have to wait to start typing again. Websites are timing out or just taking a very long time to respond after clicking on something. Yahoo in particular is extremely slow.
For me, I think the "Skype Click to Call 5.11.0.9874" addon was causing the slow response. Once I disabled this addon Firefox was responding normally.

Updating to 10.6.7 Destroy's WiFi...(Very High Latency)
Updating to 10.6.7 seems to have made my wireless connections useless. everything was fine at 10.6.6... After upgrading to 10.6.7 I noticed terrible latency and lag while playing an online game. I looked at the server list for the game and did a refresh, all the servers normally listing 30-90ms were now in the hundreds. 500ms...800ms...etc... I thought it was nothing.. tried basic troubleshooting steps and determined that it wasn't just the online game. I started looking at the connection.
Ping reply's online were returning very bad response times.. so I said OK, I'll ping the gateway here and see.. cause that I know I should be getting <1ms or slightly higher... it was also extremely high.. 345...800...750 etc....
After some more basic troubleshooting I determined that it had to be the recently installed OS update... finding no solution to the issue online I decided to do a backup and reinstall OS X.
I did a fresh install of OS X the network was back to normal... I downloaded 10.6.7 combo update and installed it... wireless was destroyed again...it has to be the update....
I did yet another fresh install of OS X.. this time I installed the 10.6.6 combo update and all the other software updates except for 10.6.7... the wireless is perfectly fine!
I am left with the only conclusion that the 10.6.7 update destroy's wifi from a latency standpoint.. making it useless to me for the most part.. even for basic surfing... I had no issues with connecting to the wireless.. just that it was basically useless after 10.6.7. I am on an iMac 24" Intel Core2 Duo model.
Anyone else having this issue or know a solution? For now I will just be leaving 10.6.7 alone.Welcome to Apple Discussions!
10.6.7 does nothing to my WiFi latency. My suggestion is to check if your router's firmware is up to date, and known to be 10.6.7 compatible. Just because it is 10.6 to 10.6.6 compatible does not mean it is 10.6.7 compatible. I have Apple's airport extreme base station with 802.11n. Check also if you are proxies, or have certain firewall ports enabled on the System Preferences -> Security & Sharing that might interfere with the router's own firewall ports. If you have stated DNS numbers in Apple menu -> System preferences -> Network, make sure they are also stated on the router's own setup page, or remove DNS numbers from both, as those can contribute to latency under certain conditions. I have an iMac 5,1 and my WiFi is doing great, even when running a VPN over VirtualBox with Windows XP. Double check the games in question have been tested with 10.6.7. They may have their own configuration issues. If the game uses Flash, make sure the version of Adobe Flash you are using has been tested with 10.6.7 by contacting Adobe. -
Response times (PING) very high with CAP3602i access point
I have installed an access point CAP3602i in mode HREAP a controller Model 5508 with version 7.4.100.0 but the response times of the connected users are very high.
The less users are connected to the access point is faster surfing the internet and response times are low. But if there are many users connected, increase response times.
I'll be grateful someone comments any experience with this problem.
ThanksWe are talking about 15 users per AP, but that everything is surfing the internet and not so heavy downloads before aps 1141 and had had no such problem response times were normal between 2,3,4 ms
There is performing some function more cap3602i ap causes high response times.
Supposedly CAP3602i I say are better than the 1141, which is why we made the change but we found with surprise that high times.
The SSID was HREAP doubt it has anything to do with the 1141 does not give the issue of high times. -
SG200-26P + SF200-24P, LAG? Trunking?
I'm not a network person by any means and have no problem admitting that. That's why I'm here.
I have a SG200-26P that is already configured and working properly. It is connected to an ASA5505 that is acting as the DHCP server. We currently have 3 VLANs: 10, 20 & 40.
We are adding in a SF200-24P and I wanted to LAG & Trunk (I think that's the correct terms) to the 26P and the VLANs would go across both switches. I set up the LAG through the GUI on both devices with GE25/GE26 on the SG200-26P and GE1/GE2 on the SF200-24P as the LAG ports. When I connect them together I can not get an IP address, nor can I ping the 26P from a device connected to the 24P (after setting a static IP to just be able to access the GUI on the 24P).
SG200-26P = 192.168.1.3
SF200-24P = 192.168.1.4
Thanks for any help you can provide. I'm sure this is actually a simple setup but I can't figure it out.Hi MHPL, you're correct a LAG and trunk is accurate. When you think about a LAG think of it exactly the same as a single link. You must config it like any singular port and you will observe when configuring the VLAN properties that there is an option for the LAG.
Moving past that, there are 2 types of LAG, static and dynamic. I recommend that you use static LAG where each side does not use any protocol to negotiate the LAG. So when you go to the port management -> LAG setting simple add the port and click apply (do not click LACP) and make the same configuration on the other switch and connect them. Just ensure that the switches are essentially identical. -
Firmware upgrade SG200-26P from oldest version.
Hello !
I have Switch SG200-26P.
Firmware version: 1.1.2.0
Boot Version: 1.1.0.6
Is it possible make upgrade to the latest firmware version 1.4.0.88 directly or I should make intermediate upgrades ?
Should I upgrade Boot Loader and if yes, where I can find it because I saw only Firmware for downloading ?
Thank you in advance.Hello,
I'm sorry but I was reading the answer and I don't think it is correct.
On the SX200, SX300 and SX500 switches, you will need to upgrade the boot code once you get to 1.3.5 otherwise you won't be able to upgrade to the latest firmware afterwards.
The reason for this is that the boot code will modify the flash memory on the device and get it ready for higher firmware versions.
Here is the release notes from 1.3.5:
http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/csbss/sf20x_sg20x/release_notes/R_1-3-5_RN.pdf
Within this document you will find the following information:
Before upgrading to version 1.3.5, the boot loader also needs to be updated. If version 1.3.5 is installed using the original boot loader, the file system will not be upgraded, and in the future the user will not be allowed to upgrade to versions higher than 1.3.5.
I will recommend to step up the upgrade, as follows:
1.3.0.6.2, 1.3.5.58 (and boot code via TFTP), then 1.4.0.88.
I hope this information is helpful. -

My question is: how power distribuition is really done on those switches?
with actual setup, no power on GE1 or GE2, if you remove AP3 on GE3, GE1 or 2 power up devices.
Are 16900 divided between two or more ports?
I dind´t find the relevant answer on the switch specifications.
Can anyone help?Hi Minitrucker,
SG200-26P is 802.3af compliant but from what I manage to read Ubiquiti UAP-LR is not 802.3af/at compliant, correct me if I am wrong as I did not really find the datasheet for your specific AP. This would mean that the AP would need the injector or specific switch rather than any. As it uses non standard PoE.

I have a SG200-26P which I would like to have three interfaces COMPLETELY segregated from the rest of our network.. I though by using VLANS I could do that.. but the three interfaces I included in the VLAN and still communicating with the rest of the network.. Is there something I am doing wrong or can this not be done??
Hello,
I'm sorry I didn't answer before but I was unavailable.
After reviewing you configuration I'm puzzled as to why it is not working correctly.
I can only give you a few recommendations to see if they help.
1- Make sure there is only a single port connecting your SG200 with the watch guard.
2- Make sure all the ports on your SG200 are configured with a single VLAN as untagged.
On your watch guard, if you have both Vlans configured, make sure that inter plan routing is disabled.
Try this and let us know what happens.
