Hi,
The NVIDIA should work with the PCI-E 1.1 bus that your PC has in it.  You might want to search this forum for NVIDIA 650 compatibility issues.

    Hi,
The following link shows the specs of your machine:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03499587#N432
    It clearly says:
*Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.
Supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards.
Either integrated graphics or the PCI Express x16 slot are usable at one time; they are not usable concurrently.
You don't need to disable the integrated video chip (or onboard video).
    Regards.

  • Will my ATI Radeon x1600 graphics card support Final Cut Express?

In the fall I plan to attend Cincinnati State, and major in AVP (Audio Video Production), and I wanted to get a head start by purchasing the program Final Cut Express. I checked the system specifications, and apparently I need an AGP graphics card. The problem is I have no idea whether or not my ATI Radeon x1600 card will be able to run the program or not. Thank you for your feedback!
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I'm just not sure what is going on - that error is what Mac Mini's and others with onboard video have when they try to run FCE/FCP, and there is a workaround mentioned here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1609878
Of course, your MBP has the ATI card, not onboard video.
I did a clean install of FCE 3 HD ( PPC ) and then upgraded immediately to FCE 3.5 HD ( Universal ) and have experienced no problems with it.

  • K9NBPM2 not using PCI Express cards

I have a K9NBPM2-FID.  Integrated graphics works fine, and the BIOS is set to auto for which graphics card to use.  I have tried two different graphics cards in the slot, and it is not trying to use them.  The cards are receiving power it seems (they are warm upon removal), but no display is there, and windows doesn't see the cards.  I also tried setting the BIOS setting to both to use both adapters..  No matter what, it seems, it will not initialize the card, and will only use the integrated graphics unit.  I also checked to ensure that primary display device is PCI Express --> PCI.
Tried a GEForce 6200 LE and an ATI x800

You asked about supported cards. Here is a list of supported cards. Others on this thread are telling you how to make an unsupported card function to some degree using a method that is not advocated by Adobe.

  • Graphic card support Java3D?

Here you the detail for my graphic card:

    http://www.asus.it/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=324&l4=0&model=1282&modelmenu=2
I've installed DirextX 9c on my pc.
I'm training on the Java3d libraries, but I got a problem, with my first example:
    DefaultRenderingErrorListener.errorOccurred:
CONTEXT_CREATION_ERROR: Renderer: Error creating Canvas3D graphics context

I've tried to use theese (https://j3d-webstart.dev.java.net/test/) example, but they don't work too!
I hope in some suggest. Thanx in advice

Have you tried updating your OpenGL version? Java 3D may need that for somethings that DirectX can't give...?

  • Will OSX support Adaptec PCI Express scsi cards in an early 2008 Mac Pro?

I need to move my scsi interface scanner from a G4 machine and the old PCI Adaptec AHA 2930 CU card won't fit.  I was using Snow Leopard on the G4 unit - it still supported the Adaptec card and all was good.  My 23" Cinema display then bit the dust and I replaced it with with a 24" Cinema display with the mini display port connector.  I purchased an adapter from Kanex to make it compatible, but the adapter was defective - so I returned it.  Their reviews aren't very good - seem to have a lot of D.O.A. adapters - not sure I want to deal with the frustration, but it would be the least expensive option.
I do have, however, an early 2008 Mac Pro that I can use, provided that it supports the newer PCI Express scsi cards that Adaptec makes.  I'm not sure which one to get yet, either.  I'd rather not buy one and find out it won't work.  I can make a partition on the boot drive for Snow Leopard in case scsi isn't supported in later versions of OSX.  In case you're wondering, I did use a scsi to firewire adapter to run the scanner on my laptop for a while - but it stopped working and I can't locate any replacements (or the company - 2nd Wave Technologies - for that matter).  I haven't tried locating a scsi to usb adapter, but from what I can see, they are getting pretty scarce.  I'd replace the scanner, but it is fairly pricey and the newest model retails at the price of a small car - so that really isn't an option at this point.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Changed name of display adapter manufacturer.

Thanks for the response - I guess the question I should have asked is "Will OSX support scsi cards in an early 2008 Mac Pro and if so, which ones?"  I didn't realize Apple and Adaptec weren't working together - my G4 tower arrived with an Adaptec card in it when I bought it in 2000 (from a third party vendor, not directly from Apple).  It came with either OS 8.* or OS 9.  When I updated to OSX, everything continued working, so I didn't think much about it until I pondered using the Mac Pro for the scanner - at some point the G4 is going to stop working - need to have a solution before that happens.  The manuals I've been reading refer to the slots in the G4 machines as PCI.  The manual for the Mac Pro refers to the slots as PCI e.  These slots have fewer connectors, so I thought that the "Express" part of the name referred to this particular card configuration when compared to the longer card connectors in the G4 type of machines.
Can you tell me what scsi card brands will work in the Mac Pro?  I'd still like to pursue this option.  As I mentioned in my original post, buying a new scanner isn't in the cards right now - it costs more than the computer, so, although pricey, the card option is still less expensive.
    Thanks!

Well see that's the weird thing, I've read a little about this and a lot of people have it switch when the render test runs because of power saving features in the graphics cards and such, but mine does the opposite, it starts in 3.0 and within 5 to 10 seconds switches down to 1.1.
if the freq. drops, it will also drop the gen version, its power saving feature of the card
stress the card with furmark or better render then watch out the gen version

  • Graphic card support

  • Graphics card on secondary PCIe slot PUE 975X

I changed my graphics card slot to the secondary PCI express slot. But now none of my operating systems will boot correctly with the nvidia graphics driver. Only when set on failsafe mode or vesa drivers (linux), is the only way to render the desktop environment. Is there any way to have my graphics card on the 2nd slot and for it to work correctly? I am using a Nvidia Geforce 6800GS.

You are right. Using the 975X PUE, you can use 2 nVidia cards in the PCIe 16X slots(they will run at 8x) and should be able to be used with 3 monitors.  The 2 slots can be used in a crossfire configuration(2 ATI cards);ATI's answer to SLI. Using nVidia cards, you should be able to use 2 PCIe cards and get the 3 monitors since they obviously would not be in crossfire(and not in SLI since the board can not do SLI). Your PCI card is an ATI chipset and the PCIe card is nVidia. Since you have both nVidia and ATI drivers installed and being used, I think you maybe getting a conflict (which is likely causing the issue).  If you had PCI nVidia card, it might work.
When cards are in Crossfire or in SLI mode, only 2 monitors will be supported. If SLI or Crossfire is disabled, you should be able to get up to 4 monitors.  See if you can borrow your friends nVidia card and try it out. I would advise you to uninstall any ATI drivers.  You are going to need an additional nVidia card(PCIe or PCI).

  • Quartz Extreme Graphics Card Support FCE 3.5

    Newbie so bear with me...
I have a Dual 1 GHz PowerPC G4 so I went with FCE 3.5 thinking I had all the minimum requirements as advertised. When I went to install it did not highlight for install. I checked the more detailed requirements in the package and the only thing I'm lacking was the "AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card". In the System Profiler under graphics/displays I have:
    ATY,RADEON:
    Chipset Model: ATY,RADEON
    Type: Display
    Bus: PCI
    Slot: SLOT-2
    VRAM (Total): 32 MB
    Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
    Device ID: 0x5144
    Revision ID: 0x0000
    ROM Revision: 113-77701-124
    Displays:
    VA1930wm:
    Resolution: 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz
    Depth: 32-bit Color
    Core Image: Software
    Main Display: Yes
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Quartz Extreme: Not Supported
As you can see it says Quartz Extreme not supported for the Viewsonic 19" monitor that I currently have. Wondering if there is a way around this. Just bought new HD camera setup/new os/fce so I would like to not spend more money on a new monitor. Let me know, thanks in advance!

    Hi Tom,
There is no actual error message displayed - the Final Cut Express HD is not highlighted under Custom Install as shown in the screencapture below:
    http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/nstatom/fcpinstall.jpg
The manual claims that if something is not highlighted it does not meet the minimum requirements and the only thing I do not meet is the video card. Any ideas? Thanks again in advance.

  • Graphic Card Support for pm9m-v

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what graphic cards my motherboard supports as i am about to purchase one. It is an msi pm9m-v running on win 7 with 1gb rddr ram.
    Thanx

Wonkanoby is right.  The only option would be a PCI Video Card.  Forget about PCI Express and/or AGP cards.
Probably best to stick with onboard video.

  • How to tell if your graphics card supports MoleHill

If you get rendering issues or only playback in software there is a way to determine if your graphics card should support MoleHill.  Please download the exe found here (Win only) http://zp.amsnet.pl/cdragan/d3dcaps.html and run it.  In the same directory you will see a 'devcaps.txt' file.  In that file there are two lines that tell whether MoleHill is supported:
    VERTEX_SHADER_VERSION        FFFE0200
    PIXEL_SHADER_VERSION            FFFF0200
Ignore the FFFE/FFFF values, the values that are important are the 0200 numbers.  Those values must be greater than 0200 (not equal to) in order to support MoleHill.
Note that VERTEX_SHADER_VERSION and PIXEL_SHADER_VERSION show up twice in the file, the first ones pertain to d3d8 and will have values around 0104, ignore those, the important values are the second ones.
If your values are greater than 0200 and you are experiencing issues with rendering in HW please post the log and configuration info here and I will log bugs on them.
    Thanks!

    Hi Tom,
We had to turn off hardware because the graphics drivers, even from mainstream manufacturers like NVidia and ATI aren't well supported and have many issues related to stability and performance. We have 2-3 bugs right now that crash deep within the driver code.
In the near term, we’re focusing our resources on getting hardware accelerated Stage 3D (“Molehill”) on Windows, Mac, and Android – as well as on partner devices like the Playbook. We understand that there are developers using Linux for development, but our efforts are focused on supporting operating systems that are most important to our customers for deploying content, and which also demonstrate the greatest opportunity for future growth for our partners and developers.

  • Is nVidia geForce 8400: 512 mb Graphic card supports openGL?

Hi Guys, I am using nVidia geForce 8400: 512 mb Graphic card. could some please tell me whether this card is supports openGL? because when I tried in photoshop it is in disable. I can not able to enable. So kindly give your suggestions.
    HARI

In the world of video cards, the nVidia geForce 8400 is ancient, slow, and outdated.  On a scale where the fastest modern cards benchmark in the vicinity of 3000, the geForce 8400 measured out at 160 (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/).
Do yourself a favor and buy a modern video card mesauring at least 1500 on that scale (see the High End Video Card page).  They're not that expensive!  Your entire system will pick up speed, and Photoshop can really scream.
