SGD 4.41 on RHel 5.3 -- Printing Bug?

Hi guys,
Does anyone have my configuration -- SGD 4.41 running on RHel Enterprise 5.3 (32 bit)?* Are you able to print from a Windows SGD client to any printer (tta_printer or a local CUPS printer)?
I am convinced that there is a print issue with this setup because RHel 5.3 is still pretty new. Are there any Sun Tech GODs out there? Can you play with this scenario and revert?
Crestfallen, cj.

H Carmelomtta, thanks for the pointer; I've read that document several times but I have some progress to report.
I inserted +/opt/tarantella/bin+ in my bash_profile before /usr/bin.
I paused tta_printer and my local printer using cupsdisable tta_printer Ljet6p*.
Then from my Windows SGD Client, I directed 2 jobs to the tta_printer; I saw the jobs on the print queue: tta_printer-141 & tta_printer-142.
I ran another report from the SGD client but this time, I used the command *'lp -d Ljet6p /etc/hosts';* I saw a third job tta_printer-143. So far, so good!
Then I enabled the printers using +'cupsenable tta_printer Ljet6p'+; poof, all three jobs disappeared...no printouts. Arrhgh!!!
Thanks for your help and attention.

  • ATTN APPLE:  Serious Aperture Printing Bug for You to know about

I am just starting a new post for Apple to read if they do.
Aperture has a serious printing bug (or 10.4.9 does) whereby my HP 8750 Photosmart ICC Paper profiles are corrupted in some way. Not only do my prints look horrible as in there are just plain wrong color filters in place, but the on screen proofing looks just as bad. The same file and printing setup (and ICC profiles) print beautifully from PS or other apps, so it is definitely an Aperture problem. The Generic CKMY looks ok and if I have the printer do the color management (which shafts me for on screen proofing) it looks good too.
Please refer to the thread "Bad Printing from HP 8750" for more info.
This is a serious bug that has been proven by more than just one user.
    Please fix it!

FWIW, I have this problem too, but with an Epson 1800. I could print fine with the demo Aperture, but when I purchased it and entered my serial # I lost the ability to print. I can't change any of the preferences in the pulldowns in the print window. If I do change them they don't stick, even 'till the next time I pull them down. To print I have to have Aperture find the file in Finder, then I open it in ACR and PS and print from there (that works fine).

  • RGB printing bug still not fixed with 6.0.4

I guess I should not be surprised.
After three major releases of OSX and 20 updates and two major version and 8 updates of Indesign the monitor profile is still being introduced into the RGB printflow.
What the HELL does it take to get this bug fixed?
And, yes I know you can use "Print as Bitmap" or "Fast Graphic Process" in the Canon drivers to work around this problem.
Just maybe if IDCS5 uses the Cocoa print path that PS and LR now use it will be fixed then.

Anyone know if CS5 has fixed/addressed this problem?

  • ICal printing bug and workaround

    iCal 8.0 (2026) OS X 10.10 French
When I try to print a calendar and in my iCal preferences "start week on" is set to monday, the printed calendar starts with tuesday
and when I try to print a calendar and in my iCal preferences "start week on" is set to sunday, the printed calendar starts with monday.
In my case, to set "start week on" to sunday is a workaround.
    Thanks for reading me.
    Best regards and cheers.

This issue is driving me nuts. Apple doesn't seem to care. I reported the issue to Apple the day Yosimite was released and a fix has not been in any of the updates.
Note also that the calendar does not print correctly from iCloud in weekly view.
Another issue is that you cannot print the date of the printing of the calendar. Often I print several calendars a week and by Sunday I don't know what is the latest copy printed. I have asked them to fix that as well.

  • When will Mozilla correct the printing bug with Firefox where only 1 page is printed?

There is a problem with FireFox whereby it only prints the FIRST PAGE of many sites.
Searching the web on this, it seems that this problem has been around for a long time and even what the cause is.
Apparently FireFox interprets the html text "overflow: hidden" as meaning to 'hide' all the rest of the page when printing.
Many users have reported this problem, but to date it has not been adressed.
Please correct this Mozilla (Or do I have to go back to using Safari?)

Please go to the following bug and add a comment documenting this problem:
    https:// bugzilla .mozilla .org/ show_bug.cgi?id=258397
If more people report this problem, there is a better chance they will fix it.
''Moderator broke the hyperlink. Please don't advocate the spamming in Bugzilla reports, if anything request that users '''vote''' for a Bug that they think should be fixed. That particular Bug is a duplicate of this one - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129941 - which was fixed in 4.0b7.''

  • Shared Printer Bug After 10.7.4 HP LaserJet USB - Help?

Before the 10.7.4 update, my HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf multi fucntion printer worked just fine with the built in OS X print drivers. I had the printer shared on the network via my iMac (2011) over USB and other devices could print to it via Bonjour.
As soon as the 10.7.4 update hit, printing has been an issue. Whenever a print job is sent to the printer over the network the printer displays a 'Please Insert Paper' warning that has to be cleared on the device itself before the print will continue, even though the printer is full of paper... This does not happen when printing from the iMac itself, only when using the iMac to share the printer.
10.7.4 seems to have been a really buggy update as it has caused problems with Wifi becoming unusable until the iMac is rebooted.
    Any ideas?

You may have tried this already but in case you haven't, delete and re-add the printer on the client iMac - that is the one that is using the shared connection.
With regards to the message, do you think it is a result of the wrong paper size being requested or expecting paper to be in a particular cassette or tray, like the manual feed?
I also have to ask why you are sharing the printer? With the n and f suffix in the printer name I thought this would suggest the printer has its own Ethernet port and support wifi so it could therefore connect directly to your router rather than to another Mac.

  • Duplex Printing Bug with HP OfficeJet Pro L7680

Well - Duplex printing works but the back page will only print with binding on the top, Binding on the side does not work! Minor bug but still a bug at least with the HP!!

    Kev,
A couple of points - assuming your using the HP OfficeJet Printer - I am assuming your connecting it via the Ethernet point which means it is communicating via IP. That being said - here is what I ran into.
When I first added the HP Printer - Leopard wanted to configure the printer via BONJOUR. I went ahead and let it do that - however printing was terrible!!!! I could send jobs to the printq, but the only way they would print was if I turned the printer on/off again - and the the would magically start printing. Then the printer would go "offline" and I was forced to do this same on/off routine.
So - I went back into add printers - and let the dialog box sit there for a little while and all of the sudden the list updated with an HP2A7180 - Kind - IP. I selected this printer and then told it to use the HP driver via the Print Using - drop down selector and my HP has been working fine since (minus the duplex).
Additionally it installed an configuration utility which allows me to monitor inks, settings and such.
    Hope this helps - Bill

  • Page Size and Rotated printing Bug

When using the DataMax I4208 printer, I cannot use Crystal Reports 2008 as it will autorotate the text 90 degrees as it sees fit to the label.  It is always wrong which causes the font size to be reduced to a super fine font too small for a microscope.  If I change the page size from 4.00 x 1.00 to 4.00 x 4.00 it does not rotate it, it just spits out 3 blank labels with the one correct one.  I cannot find another way to get Crystal Reports to do wysiwyg.

    Hi Pat,
Fix Pack 2.3 was just released also and there are more updates to fix printer issues in there also.
A few other things to check is in the report check off Dissociate Formatting Page... this could be one of you issues. Also, use the latest printer driver. CR is unicode compliant and print drivers nust be aware of this also.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Printing bug in Acrobat 9?

I am using Windows XP, with SP3; Acrobat V9 Pro with Creative Suite CS3.3 Design Premium.
PDFs that printed fine in V8 will not print in V9-Pro. The files appear on my screen and function normally in every aspect, but upon sending to a network printer (or a local printer), the document will print the first three pages and then stop. On the top of the last page is an error message that reads:
    "Error name: /undefined
Offending Command: GTFJDD+Arial-BoldItalicMT. [Note this changes each time I try to print the SAME document; another one says, for example, "EKOWHV+Arial"]
    Operand Stack:
    false"
I have run Acrobat's repair function; no change. A co-worker who has V8 installed on her machine can print documents I created and saved with V9 Pro, and has no trouble printing the document. But I cannot print anything beyond one- or two-page files.
In an attempt to print files, I have spent considerable time changing various parameters, such as spooling from my computer; embedding certain fonts in document, etc.
Based on the error message, I think it's a font problem.... All the PDF documents were distilled from Microsoft Publisher files....

When you select print as image in acrobat, does it work?
the error indicates you're printing to a postscript printer.
In the advanced menu in the acrobat print dialog, go to the ps options and toggle the options there.

  • Printing bug with logical page numbers

I have a PDF file set up with logical page numbering. If I want to print page 7-10 and type this in the Pages field, Reader prints physical pages 7 through 10 from the PDF file instead of logical page 7-10. I tried it in Reader X and XI and the problem occurs in both. I am pretty sure it worked in early versions, but I don't know what version it stopped working on. Is this a known issue?
    Rick

Could it be that this file contains duplicate page labels? Can you share the file?

  • Yosemite printing bugs

Since installing Yosemite on my iMac late 2013 27-inch, my HP 4250 Laserjet Printer will only print Page 1 of any Word document. Reboots, software updates, PRAM fix don't help. Printer will print Web pages correctly from Safari, so the problem is probably
some contradiction between Yosemite and Word. Has this happened anywhere else?

  • A Print Bug -- PSE9 -- Print NN Copies Of Each Image

I finally figured out what is happening when one sets the NN to 2 (or 3 etc).  It sets
the printer drivers "copies" count.  This is just plain WRONG!!!
If I am printing 2 5x7's on an 8.5x11 page and I select one photo and "2 Copies"
I get 2 pages each with a 5x7 print on it -- I want one page with 2 5x7 prints on it.
A bit more proof on this -- I have one printer driver (which prints to a .pdf file) which
does not support "copies N" and PSE9 no longer lets me select 2/3 etc for NN copies
    of each image.
This is a real bad one for me -- I often want two copies of one photo, one for me and
one for a family member in the photo -- I cannot do it -- or I have found no way to do it.

I have PSEv.8, and it allows me to print 2 5x7" on one page - letter size -  from within the program
Here is a print screen of the dialog:

Editor, File>print and it takes one to picture package in Organizer.

  • Strange CS5 printing bug (reds pumped)

    Windows 7 64-bit, CS5 64-bit 12.04, Canon Pro9000 MkII.
Many/most files go back to CS4. I just started printing on CS5. I have a way to work around the bug, but maybe someone from Adobe will see this and duplicate and fix whatever the issue is. I can provide file(s) to duplicate.
I have noticed that CS5 remembers my printer driver settings application wide. I also notice that CS5 saves print settings in each PSD file. This may be contributing to the problem.
I open a file. 16-bit Prophoto PSD file.
    I open the print dialog.
The dialog is defaulted to printer color management.
Open the printer settings. Check the settings. The driver settings are correct. Paper, quality, no color management. Click ok.
Now the dialog changes to photoshop manages colors and the profile selected is some generic canon bubble jet profile.
I select the correct profile. A red river paper profile in this case.
    Print.
Bad print. The colors with some amount of red in them has the red channel pumped up. Many colors are okay.
Start with a new file (one not worked around).
Open file, change print settings. Close and save file. Open file. Print. Bad Print.
    Now the work around.
Start with a new file (one not worked around).
Open file, change print settings. Close and save file. Close photoshop. Open photoshop. Open file. Print. Good Print.
So it seems that my file(s) have some sort of saved print info that is confusing CS5 that persists until the file is saved with current settings and CS5 is closed. I never printed before on this installation so I have no idea what print info could be in the file. I did have a different Canon printer previously installed on this machine but never printed or opened the print dialog in photoshop. Photoshop probably noticed the "default" installed printer even though I never used it.
It is rather annoying to open a file, change print info, close file and photoshop and then reopen for all my files I want to print just to get around this.
    -Norman

Have you gone into the "Print Settings" dialog and turned off color matching in the Epson portion of the settings?
Are you running the most recent version of the driver? There is a combination updater to version 7.0 available as the first result at:

  • PRINT BUG? ADOBE LIVECYCLE DESIGNER 8

Can any one help? I have produced a complex form with many text fields all these fields have the same field properties apart from the field name.
When text is entered in Adobe Reader 8 or Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 it saves to file as it should. The problem I have is that the form cannot be printed off fully. Only some of the text fields print, most remain blank.
This is not just for the text fields but I have also the same problem with some check boxes where some print off and others don't even though on screen all the data and checks can be viewed.
I can only assume this is a bug because it happens to some fields and not others in the same form.
Also I added a PRINT button from the standard menu and this does not appear to do anything when clicked - it just hangs. Anybody got any solutions? Thanks

I've found an answer to my own question.....it was a font issue. When all fields (including check boxes & radio buttons) are changed to Arial everything is fine! Plus don't forget that field properties should be changed to "visible".
The PRINT button issue is still a mystery!

  • Number of Prints Bug

Using CS5 to process and print photos at a live event I noticed that even though you can specify a number of prints in the print dialog it only ever prints one copy. I tried this several times using both an action that printed and opening a file from Bridge and printing. When I finally gave up and opened a file and just hit Ctrl-P twice to print two copies (leaving the print number at 3 since it was ignoring it anyway) I got six copies! Not only broken but unpredictable. At least CS5 doesn't crash when printing from an action or print negatives like CS4 did but this bug is going to be seriously painful as customers requesting multiple copies of a print occurs about 50% of the time at my events and as I run a complete processing macro, making additional copies means re-opening the file from bridge and printing. Sometimes group shots require 12 or more copies!

As mentioned in the other topics about this same issue: this is a problem with the Windows interface between the new Vista/Win7 printing APIs, and older drivers designed for the older printing APIs.
We are investigating the problem, but don't have an ETA on a fix because we need to work with Microsoft to figure out the whole problem.
