Also what is Association ID  mean in above output?
Thanks

Yes.  They are very, very good signal strength from the clients to the WAP.
Wireless is a two-way street.  You also have to verify what the signal strength is from each client to the WAP.

  • About the output of "show dot11 associations" command.

    Hello.
I have been made to the research of IP Phone 9971 . (Used by Wireless)
The schematic diagram is shown below.
      CUCM
          |
      L3-SW
          |
      AP 1142 (FW:15.2(2)JB)
          |
      CP-9971 (FW:9.3(2))
The results of the "show dot11 associations" command are output as follows.
    ap#show dot11 associations
    802.11 Client Stations on Dot11Radio0:
    SSID [XXXXXX]:

I'm using the IP Phone 9971 (not CP-7925).
But the output of "show dot11 associations" command, has become "CP-7925" on Device.
What Is this by Design? Will it bug or?
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi, Kayle
    Thanks a lot for replay.
I am using an autonomous access point.(AP 1142)
Device firmware is the latest version.
      (AP 1142 : 15.2(2)JB  ,  CP-9971 : 9.3(2))
As with you, I'm guessing that the access point does not recognize the CP-9971 device, too.
I'll try to contact the TAC.
    Thank you for your support.
    Best regards,

  • Dot11 associations table, client associated with 0.0.0.0

I'm having an issue where wireless client association seam to fail to get IP address, but acctually don't...
MAC Address    IP address      Device        Name            Parent         State
    0016.eaae.c896 0.0.0.0         unknown       -               self           EAP-Assoc
    001f.e178.c6d8 192.168.27.192  unknown       -               self           EAP-Assoc
This happens only "sometimes", especially when the clients (laptops) wake up from sleep mode.
Although the association shows IP 0.0.0.0, the state is "EAP-Assoc" and I can confirm that the client passed RADIUS authentication, received IP from DHCP and can ping the gateway.
The wireless network is made up by autonomous/standalone access-points (Cisco aironet 1100, 1130, 1200, 1040).
Network access is PEAP, WPA/AES, dot1x, multiple Vlans...
All access-points have an access-list at the radio IN that is dropping all IP broadcasts.
When I remove the ACL, everything appear to be fine (at least all the times that I checked), but when the ACL is active the issue doesn't always come up.
I must understand what is going on because this ACL (although it's not very common) has proven it's value by saving 30-40% CPU usage on access-points...
Does anyone know how the "dot11 associations" table is built??
Maybe some tips on how to troubleshoot the issue.
    thanks in advance

As an answer to your early quetsions (that I don't know why we did not answer it yet):
Assoc table is mainly built from information in association frames.
Assoc frames have no idea about IP addresses so how the APs know the IP? Not from assoc frames of course.
Each vendor may have different way to know the IP (they can look into the header of the IP traffic of that special client or they an look into dhcp communication).
    summarizing the issue so far:
    - The issue happens ONLY with the ACL in place.
    - It does not happen with all clients.
    - It happens ONLY when the clients in power save mode.
    - It happens with same clients if they use static ip address even if they are not in power save mode (please confirm or amend this sentence to be more accurate).
Why power save mode do not show the IP? - > answering this quetion almost solves the problem.
what is common among the problematic clients? - > need to know this in order to isolate further.
Is it AP hardware/software related? -> helps to isolate further.
I said that it could possibly be related to information elements but not necessarily.
There are information element that transfer Power Save capability between clietns and the AP. I have no idea though how those can be related.
More information about information elements can be found in the IEEE standard downloadable from here:
    http://standards.ieee.org/getieee802/download/802.11-2007.pdf
    go to section :
    7.3.2 Information elements
    in page 99.
I tried to read about power save and tried to link that with our issue with no hope.
It could possibly a bug or so that when PS is used the AP behaves differently.

  • Client Commands are Currently Not Being Accepted

    Hi,
I made a outline restructure on my essbase but my laptop suddenly shut down. When I tried to turn the application on again and tried to add members on Essbase, I got the error message, "Client commands are currently not being accepted"
I can't make any changes and I also have tried to end archive using MAXL but also get the same error message.
Anyone has the solution please let me know since this is on production machine. Thanks.

Since you were in the middle of an outline restructure, I'm guessing it is hung. You can double check that by looking in the database directory to see if there is a file dbname.otn and/or .pan or .inn or .esn files. If they are there, then stop the application. Yoy may need to go to task manager in windows or PS in Unix and kill the esssvr session associated with the session. Then try to restart the app. If it starts fine, if not, look at the files mentioned above and move them to a temp directory and try again. If it still does not work, then the third option would be to move the files above out and move bak in the files ending in "N" renaming them to the proper name..ind, pag, .otl, .esm and try again.
Typically, depending on version you only need to kill the app process and restart

  • Show dot11 statistics client-traffic

I'm trying to interpret output from the 'show dot11 statistics client-traffic' command in autonomous IOS version 15.2(4)JB4 on a 3600-series access point.  Finding a detailed description of each data point being reported has been very difficult - c'mon Cisco!  For my purposes I'm most interested in what is being reported in the 'Retry' and 'RSSI' fields.  It seems like RSSI in dBm is being reported but I'd like confirmation from someone who knows because in older versions of IOS it seems like this value might have been a percentage value on a scale of 0 to 100% with 0 being -113dBm and 100 being -10dBm.
Here is a sample of the output from my access point:

You want the RSSI (Radio Signal Strength Indicator) and the SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) of a particular client?
You have to run one or two commands then.  The first one is "sh dot11 s".  This will show you the wireless MAC address of a client.  Copy-n-Paste the MAC address of your choice and use the command "sh dot11 s ".
    Does this answer your question?

  • Virtual server and client command

    Hi,
    I want to configure firewall load balancing as follows. I have 3 firewalls, FW1, FW2, FW3. I want to create a serverfarm for each FW, i.e. FW1 in SF1, FW2 in SF2, and FW3 in SF3. Then, we'd like to create two Virtual server VS1 and VS2. Each Virtual server has Server Farm SF2 as a backup server farm. I.e. SF1 is the active server farm for VS1, and SF2 is the backup server farm for VS1. We also have SF3 is the active server farm for VS2, and SF2 is the backup server farm for VS3. Note that all connections to VS1 and VS2 will come from the same VLAN (e.g. VLAN X). So the configuration of the virtual server I think should be as follows ;
    vserver VS1
    virtual 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 25
    client 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
    vserver VS2
    virtual 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 25
    client 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
So, the question I have is, will this work if we filter who can access the virtual server using the client commmand ? I.e. clients coming from 192.168.1.0 will be using VS1 and clients coming from 192.168.2.0 will be using VS2.
    Thanks !

The 'client' command should work as you expect.
You'll need to add the 'serverfarm' command under each vserver. Ex:
    serverfarm SF1
    real 1.1.1.1
    serverfarm SF2
    real 2.2.2.2
    serverfarm SF3
    real 3.3.3.3
    vserver VS1
    virtual 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 tcp 25
    serverfarm SF1 backup SF2
    client 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
    vserver VS2
    virtual 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 tcp 25
    serverfarm SF3 backup SF2
    client 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
I am assuming that you will be using different IP addresses for each vserver. Is that correct?

  • MSE not detecting associated clients

    Hi,
    i have one MSE 7.0, one WLC 7.6.120 and CPI 2.1. the AP's are 1602i and 3702i
I had a map in CPI, showing my AP's, but i can't see associated clients, if i modify the client filter to all clients, they appear in the map, but for some reason when i modify back the filter to associated clients the followinf message appears:
there are no clients on this floor. Either you don have any MSE which locates clients or none of your MSE detected any clients on this floor.
    NMSP status is active.
    WLC and MSE are synchronyze.
    anybody knows whats the problem?
    thank you!

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
I checked your link, but in my opinion must be other problem, because sometimes i can see associated clients in CPI map, but most part of the time only shows clients when i modify the client filter to all.
NMSP protocol is up and active between MSE and WLC, service are synchronyzed.
NTP is configured in CPI, WLC and MSE, and time is the same.
In the top of the map there is a message:
Data may be delayed up to 15 minutes or more depending on background polling interval
I waited for more than 30 minutos and the associated client still not showed on the map. furthermore, in my opnion, 15 minutes is a long time to locate a client, if i have to wait 15 minutes to locate every client in my network, there is no way to make location works!
    Regards!

  • Client Commands are Currently Not Being Accepted  due to restructuring

    Hello,
We are running Essbase and Planning 9.3.1. Occasionally, the users get the above error, "Client Commands are Currently Not Being Accepted", because Essbase spontaneously starts restructuring itself. We schedule a restructure in the evening. Is there a way to prevent this spontaneous restructuring from occurring during business hours?
    Thank you,

    Thank you Glenn,
The users say they did not change the outline or refresh the database. The log file says sysadmin gave the command, as I have copied here.
Received Command [Restructure] from user [sysadmin]
If the users did something, I would expect the command to come from them.
The essbase.cfg does not have the work sync or security in it. Can you tell me more on how to determine if this is our problem?

  • Prime Infrastructure "Current Associated Clients" No Data Available

We have prime infrastructure 1.3 and the "Current Associated Clients" always shows No Data Available.  Any suggestions as to what would cause this?

End host Tracking needs the Bridge mib data, i.e, the Mac addr table/Cam table entry from device to show end hosts. With the error it is clear that LMS is not able to poll the bridge mib.
Bridge MIB is not as simple as directly polling device for data. It needs SNMP string indexing, which means it has to include @ sign after community to poll each vlan for mac addr's.
For example, the Catalyst switch includes one instance of the standard BRIDGE-MIB for each Virtual LAN in the switch. If the read-only community string is "public" and the read-write community string is "private", one could use "public@25" to read the BRIDGE-MIB for VLAN 25 and use "private@33" to read and write the BRIDGE-MIB for VLAN 33. If just "public" or "private" is used, the BRIDGE-MIB for VLAN 1 is accessed.
This is different when SNMP v3 is used. You have to configure snmp context than, as SNMP string indexing doesn't work on SNMP v3.
If you are using snmp v3, please check the following doc to see how contexts are created :
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/4_2/nx-os/system_management/configuration/guide/sm_9snmp.html#wp1070467
If using SNMP v1/v2c please manually poll the device by adding @ on community string and see it works.

  • CPI 1.2 Current Associated Clients

I'm monitoring a number of a switches in a customer environment.  I used CPI automated discovery and SNMP to load the switches into the system.
Even though I can see basic system summary and interface information for a particular switch, I'm unable to see any Client information such as 'Current Associated Clients'.
Here is one way to navigate to the area that I'm referring to:
LifeCycle Theme > Operate > Device Work Center
ALL > Pick A Switch, check the box next to it
Device Details Tab > Clients > Current Associated Clients
The CPI 1.2 documentation say sI should be able to see 'wired' client  information on this screen and lists no pre-requisites to doing so.  I can't figure out why I'm not seeing any data ('no data available') and can't find any information on how to  'deploy' this functionality or troubleshoot why it's not working.  The switch is online in 'managed' status and I know it has clients on it, this has been validated by typical CLI.
Any ideas anyone?  Thanks in advance for the help.
    Dan

    Hi, everybody!
I've begun test the CPI 1.2 and connected two 3750 switches with associated clients.
And I have the same problem as above. Switches have configured with SNMP v3.
There are no any infotmation about Current Associated Clients, ACLs and Ethernet Interfaces in Feature Configuration tab and an error message "No image information in inventory for this device" in Image tab.
    Thanks for advance!

  • What is the difference of these two Coherence client command?

What is the difference of these two Coherence client command? Kill and destroy
    Are they same command?
    Thank you

    Hi,
The Kill command shuts down the current com.tangosol.net.CacheService. This does not affect other service members if they are in a cluster.
The Destroy command will remove the NamedCache completely from the cluster, causing other cluster members to receive an IllegalStateException if they are holding on to a reference to the same cache and try to do any operation on that cache.
you can try using this command and check.
    Thanks,
    Mitraa SP

  • Executing client commands without using webutil

    Hi,
Overview: Our dba is busy enough to be disturbed for configuring webutil for me to execute client commands like client_host, client_text_io, etc.
The forms resides on unix server, then I want to implement a feature that writes data to a file then to be saved in the client's
    local directory.
Question: I was just wondering if I can or is it possible to execute client commands specifically windows commands without using client_host?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think i found a way on how to do it, using Runtime.getRuntime().exec
